Absolutely the best chicken restaurant beats Chick-fil-A hands-down. The chicken is perfect not greasy at all. The staff is amazing. They are so helpful and friendly. They are constantly cleaning tables floors. I am amazed at how on the ball this restaurant is I will definitely be coming here frequently. I highly recommend Starbird in Walnut Creek.

We use to order this restaurant on door dash often and the quality has gone totally down. the last three times (different days over the course of a month) at normal hours - they have gotten our order wrong (both take out and delivery) and the quality of the food is sad. the meat of the chicken is butchered really bad and the breading has gotten too thick. i really like this brand but i have to stop giving them second, third, fourth chances when it’s such an easy to go to option. save your money and go to gotts nearby.

Every time I have ordered, they have sent me the wrong order. Although the food is good, the preparation is horrible. I want my refund, for all the wrong food you sent. The carrots sent with wings are at least a week old.. It has a foul smell. You add fries inside the platter.. That makes the fries so soggy, it's almost inedible. Idk how you mix your spices on the wings.. One half does not even get any spice and the other half is super spicy. Who is responsible for the quality of food? Do you even have a management?

I ordered this sandwich for pickup and it was ready 7 minutes later. It was $11.47. I got street parking, walked in, told the guy my name, and was out the door. I requested 2x lettuce and tomatoes, which they delivered on. These sandwiches are killer, the crispiness is perfect, sauce is the right amount, and bun is... Pretty well toasted. You can't go wrong

Ordered through Postmates food came as ordered. My favorite was the wings Especially the spicy Seoul flavor was good. The chipotle bbq sauce was my favorite, the blue cheese sauce is watery.

One of my go-to spots for a tasty salad delivery! Always fresh vegetables and their crispy chicken is so good. I definitely recommend the Green Goddess Cobb Salad, or the Thai Chicken Salad! Their salad dressings never fail. Since this a ghost kitchen, I always do delivery. Keep in mind, there is not indoor dining or real brick & mortar. So it might be a little confusing finding this place. Look for the SoMa Food Pickup on Morris.

I’m giving star bird one star because they are part of the problem. I ordered from them through DoorDash, and the person who showed up was not the dasher on the app. As a single woman I have serious concerns about this practice continuing unabated. We have to demand that DoorDash, uber, Lyft, and all the other companies enact stricter controls to keep us safe. I’m also holding the business accountable because you all can also insist that these companies maintain stronger account controls.

Good place to order dream fried chicken wing! TIPS: DON'T ORDER BONELESS WING.....It doesn't taste like chicken wing anymore.....so sad! The real chicken wing is really good! all flavors are recommend! order ahead and pickup in their store.

One day I was at the Corte Madeira mall sitting outside in the commons area waiting for a friend. I noticed a man eating a salad, from Starbird, a few feet away from me. The salad looked amazing! A few days went by and I was STILL thinking of that salad. I was at work and didn't bring lunch. I decided to order a salad from Starbird using DoorDash (and I seldom order from delivery services). I have to shout out to DoorDash because they were fast and the delivery guy was nice. I ordered the Chicken Cobb and let me just say, it was worth it! Everything was good from the crispy tender chicken to the dressing. Only thing is that I wish they gave more dressing; but you can pay for extra dressing. If I could, I would order this everyday! My coworker saw my Starbird bag and she was craving for it as well! She ended up walking to the location to get something for lunch! I highly recommend the chicken Cobb salad!!! You might need to order 2!

To be clear, it's only a pickup location for Starbird online/app orders, not a physical restaurant with seating. It's also in a sketchy alley with DoorDashers going in and out, so don't linger (or at least lock your car doors). Otherwise, I highly recommend Starbird itself. Try the Big Star sandwich or any of their salads (my fav is the Elote salad). Prices are also pretty good with nothing over $15 at base price. While I add an extra dollar for spicy flavored chicken, it's also good without heat, even though their spice isn't terribly hot. If you want a safer and more sit-down venue, try the Westborough/Colma location.

Food was inferior! No taste and the pieces of chicken were too big and seemed old! I love fried chicken and I have yet to experience anything as distasteful as their chicken!

$17 for three chicken tenders which were more like nuggets. Seriously overpriced and dry. Spent $60 to feed three people and two are still hungry.

PRO: -I'm a huge fan of their tenders; they're perfectly fried on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. My favorite is the Lemon Garlic flavor, followed by the Nashville Blaze. I always pair these with the Truffle Aioli or the Garlic Aioli sauce -The Cobb salad is pretty good! There's not enough guac, so I add my own avocado CON: -the wings are dry. I don't get them anymore -their main thing is delivery, but you CAN do pickup. If you pick up, the tiny street can be a bit challenging to navigate. But service is lightning fast every time I go, a quick in and out. It helps to go with a friend who stays with the car, or park on Harrison or Bryant to avoid going into Morris St. I'm a fan. Starbird is officially a staple on my list of "unhealthy but delicious treat foods that I eat in moderation" :)

Starbird has amazing crispy chicken and the most filling salads that absolutely slap. I ordered chicken nuggets with their ranch and house star sauce. The nuggets were crispy, juicy, and I am such a big fan of their sauces! They include chips too. They were a little greasy for me. I did enjoy dipping them in the sauces too. I highly recommend their elote salad with crispy chicken. This is my favorite dish hands down. It's filling, I love the toppings, 12/10. I would pass on the chicken wings- I ordered them once and to be honest they are very very very small. It could be inflation hitting. The wings have incredible sauce options- I got the Cali Golden and Buffalo and both were fantastic. If you're craving crispy chicken and solid dipping sauce- this is your place.

They lie about the fact that their Gardenbird is "plant-based" when in fact it contains eggs and dairy. Nothing wrong with having animal products, but do not claim something is plant-based when it isn't. This is both scamming customers and could potentially harm someone with allergies.

If you are gluten, intolerant or celiac, do NOT eat at this location. I am the biggest fan of Starbird chicken. It's probably one of very few fast food places I can eat at being celiac however, this location is an absolute no go. I have been symptomatic since yesterday afternoon with a celiac flareup from the food that I had from this location. That type of flare up is not just from a mere exposure. It is abundantly clear that their kitchen mixes it fryers with the other foods from ghost kitchen. And if they don't, then it's clear that the cooks are frying other things in that oil. While no doubt, the food tasted OK, the aftermath is just awful. I will never go to this location ever again. Update: I ordered only the Elote chopped salad which is listed as GF and I have had this salad before at the South city location and had no symptoms. Again if you have even just a mild intolerance, I do not recommend this location.

One drawback of living in the City is you'll have a hard time finding chain restaurants especially fast foods. Totally forgot that I tried this a couple of years ago so, when a friend suggested ordering here, it felt like a new experience. The fries were slightly soggy after a couple hours but still had firm edges. The portions are generous so this is a filling meal. It was nice to try this again and I liked this meal better than my first time. This is a ghost kitchen set up where you'll either have a delivery company bring it or go to 60 Morris and get it from your appointed locker.

I've ordered Starbird several times with no issue, but last week I got horrible food poisoning from a salad as did at least 4 others who ate the same meal. In their response the company said "this is not something that happens at our restaurants" which I found to be quite invalidating and bad customer service.

Super convenient fast food place in the city. I tried their star bird hot chicken salad and it was delicious and filling. I ordered online and was able to choose up to 10 sauces which was great for someone that likes to try different types of sauces with their meal. My favorite was the honey bbq (tastes like the chick fil a sauce) and the star sauce (not sure what's exactly in it). I would definitely be interested in trying their sandwiches for next time, if you're ever in a rush for a fast and relatively nutritious meal- this is the place to go.

Food took more than two hours to arrive even though I live 7 minutes from the kitchen. Fries and chicken were cold. Most of the "buffalo wings" had little or no buffalo sauce on them

Great Service! Crunchy chicken and fresh food! The togo order pickup system is a bit confusing at first but the workers are kind and quick to help.

Expensive but my favourite chicken restaurant i love the spicy tenders and the fries and they make their own artisanal soda which is great. I like that you can either get the fries or the salad with the chicken, both are great. Wish it was cheaper but great besides that.

This was the most disappointing meal my wife and I have had in such a long time, the chicken was cold, the fries were stale & the way everything was put together was just embarrassing. I usually don't leave a bad review but this was beyond terrible. Never again will I do starbird, I wanted to see what the hype was about and let me tell you, I don't get it!!

This was terrible. I had Starbird at the airport and it was a 10/10. This location is not authentic to their brand. Please do not eat here. They didn't event have all the toppings on my salad that they advertised. They don't have a full selection of the menu and the chicken was cold.

I've tried this place at multiple locations now. The location in the SFO airport has got great food. Customer service isn't really anything to be excited about but it's really grab and go at that location. The food from Starbird Mission Bay was ordered via delivery and was soooo scrumptious. Wings were perfect and truffle French fries so yummy. This is now my go to spot for wings!

So this Starbird Chicken isn't a location where you can sit down and munch but that doesn't make the food any less tastier or satisfying. It happens to be a close by ghost kitchen and I had the brilliant idea of picking it up myself. Brilliant. That is until I got there. I have a whole new level of respect for folks in the delivery game - for real tho. cause pick up and delivery ain't all that easy. There's no parking so, along with other folks picking up, you do the best you can and squeeze into whatever makeshift parking spot you can find. Then you run into this unmarked building that houses a couple other different ghost kitchens and find your order. It's both beautiful and chaotic to see and all wrapped up and conveniently to-go. Lesson here : tip your delivery folks well. I know I am cause I'm not trekking back down if I don't have to. Anyways, the food . . . It's not called Chinese chicken salad, but it looks like it, tastes like it, and I very much liked and appreciated it. Citrus. Sesame. Greens. Chicken. All harmoniously coexisting. Chicken chop is a solid salad choice. Greens are crisp. Chicken is too - unless it's not breaded of course. Dressing coats without drowning. And the avo-smash just ties it all together. May order the tenders one day but this place right here is my salad spot.

I'm extremely disappointed by most recent experience. I ordered from Starbird through an office catering service several days in advance. Up until today, I've never had this issue. The order was noted to be on track but as time passed, we did not receive our order. It was noted that the restaurant gave the order to the wrong delivery person and they could not be reached to rectify the situation. Ultimately the only thing I could do is cancel the order and I was left scrambling to find food for my office after the noted meal time. It was most frustrating that there really was no way to rectify this situation and no way to contact the business.

I am a slow adapter of the ghost kitchen concept, but Starbird and Ben's Fast Food are the exception. The green goddess and Cobb are my favorites and I could eat them all the time. I love the fried chicken bites, always juicy and crispy, never soft. My only gripe is the up charge for regular grilled chicken. I don't wanna pay more to be healthy. Keep an eye out for coupons, they are plentiful

For starters, this is a digital kitchen so you can't speak with anyone personally from this restaurant . 10 Piece Sweet Thai / Lemon Pepper Wings : The Sweet Thai Wings are amazing ! Sweet and savory and a little kick of spice . Perfect combination . As for the Lemon Pepper Wings, they're way to salty ! The wings do come in good sizes and comes out to about $15 . 3 Piece Hot Nashville Tenders : I subbed out the slaw since I've never been a fan, but the fries are totally with it ! Fresh, crispy with a soft inside, seasoned .. The tenders are delicious themselves and have the perfect amount of seasoning . I added the "Make it Blazin' " feature . They're cooked perfectly and very crunchy which is always a plus . Came out to about $15 . Overall, I would recommend this place but not the lemon pepper wings .. it's that bad . Unless you love the taste of salt . The service is fast, but would be nice to have a person to speak with.

Only go to this place if you are ordering to go. Do not go for pick up. It's poorly organized and the delivery drivers are very rude. I respect the hustle but I was pushed out of line. Not necessary. Food was actually very good considering it's a ghost kitchen. I recommend the salad with Elote.

One of the worst fried chicken sandwich experience ever. Chicken fillet was dry. My friend ordered the grilled chicken and it's rubbery and dry inside. Fries were soggy. This is such a huge disappointment. Will never come back again.

My first experience at Starbird chicken was at sfo .I rate it a 4.5 out of 10. I wanted to give them another shot at their new location in ssf and I absolutely regret it .The lemon peppered wings were over seasoned and very salty .It felt like I had sand in my mouth .The wings were so small and didn't look like anything in the picture. The fries were dry and it seemed like it was sitting out for a while . The big star sandwich I also ordered ,the chicken was dry and seems like it was sitting in a heat lamp for a long time . I wasted 30 bucks on regular dry fries , over seasoned lemon peppered wings ,and the big dry star sandwich.

I got the big star grilled chicken sandwich and chips. The sandwich was ok, average at best. But the potato chips were really tasty and crispy despite being catered.

I love fried chicken sandwiches, so I was delighted to try a new place. We placed a group order at work for lunch for delivery. I ordered the Nashville HotBird, I love spicy foods and a big fan of hot chicken from Nashville (Miss my trips there). The chicken sandwich was only a little spicy, pretty oily and wasn't easy to eat. the bun was bigger than the chicken breast, making it pretty odd to eat. Overall the sandwich did not look anything like the advertised photo and just okay. I also ordered a side of fries with all of the sauces. I love to make sauces, so was very curious to try the Star Sauce, the Wasabi Aioli, Spicy Seoul Sauce, Sriracha Buffalo and the Honey Chipotle BBQ. The fries were not crispy, but the sauces were pretty interesting. I was really looking forward to it, but in the end it was okay - but did not impress. I may try them again and pick a salad or something else.

This was good! We got pickup from here and beside it being a little cold it was overall good. The fries were delish, my fav type. If not cold they would have been perfect! Boyfriend got the chicken tenders and loved them. I got the chicken Cobb salad Nashville hot. Was pretty good as well. Overall would order again.

Food was good and very filling. The food presentation looked as good as the pictures. The chicken was smaller and thinner than expected, and I felt like there was more bread than chicken. The flavor was still good and fries were crispy. We got the honey mustard sauce for the dipping sauce and it did not disappoint. For a side, we got the super slaw, which also had a nice flavor with kale instead of cabbage and sesame seeds. A pro tip: the SF location has very limited parking and meter maids frequent the area, so allow time to find parking when picking up your food.

This place is hit or miss. I order pick up from here quiet frequently since I live only a quarter mile way. The order quality us hit or miss. Sometimes the ingredients or chicken aren't that fresh, and I pick up the order immediately since I live just a quarter mile away. The worst part is that they do not allow messages to the kitchen, and they do not read the order tickets accurately. I'vs ordered salads with no cilantro, but have included double cilantro by accident. Let me emphasize customizations please!

This is by far the best place for the tastiest chicken you'll ever experience. All the ingredients are the freshest. House Made juice drinks . You should try their Lemonade, Pineapple too! and there's more. Star Bird Chicken is all about serving the best tender, moist, juicy, and talk about flavorful, chicken available in different styles of salads, Burgers and chicken nuggets. Try their French Frys, won't be disappointed. It's all prepared when you order. A short wait and you're in for the best tasting chicken ever. You can eat in or on the outside patio. Most people do Take Out. It's convenient and fast. On the corner of Westbourgh And the El Camino, South San Francisco. They have more locations too. Just look them up. Don't deprive yourself of a great experience.

Been ordering from this location for a few years now. The quality was initially okay but has really tanked over the last year. Today my fries arrived only 1/3 full and cold. And I know it wasn't the delivery guy because the bag was very well secured- so the restaurant decided to only give me 6 fries lol. They also delivered the wrong sauce. Considering you only get 2 complimentary sauces and they're kinda essential with tenders this was a bummer. Lastly my order arrived with the slaw lid partially off and the slaw upside down so it leaked all over my bag. Also not the dashers fault if the lid wasn't properly on.

Ordered through Grubhub delivery today. What a surprise! So delicious! The Thai chicken box came with fries, kale slaw and 2 sauces. The chicken was super moist, and had nice crunch, as the sweet chili sauce blended perfectly with the seasoned chicken. The slaw was the bomb! Nice dressing with a balance of sweet and acidic yumminess. Even the sauces were unique and flavorful. Wonder if I could order the sandwich next time? That was not listed on the Grubhub app. Definitely will order again!

One of our many fried chicken foodie attempts to find the best fried chicken in town. Being a new local, I was looking for a convenient, gourmet type fried chicken meal. Wanted to step it up from the traditional Popeye's or other cliche fried chicken fast food around town. Starbird falls on the list of the above standard fried chicken fast food stops! I wanted to try the fried chicken but not get the entire bun shebang, so I ordered the Chicken Chop Bowl from Starbird Chicken. Super generous portion on the lettuce, condiments, and big! Big slab of fried chopped chicken,  won ton skins, and again, lots of lettuce. So full and pretty presentation! I really enjoyed the tangy vinaigrette style orange sauce and the fab guacamole in the middle. I ordered the traditional fried chicken sandwich on the menu for Beau to try. I figured if the restaurant held its fried chicken standards to the tee, it'd be with the traditional sandwich. The chicken was fried perfectly but on the thin side. The secret that made it taste different from standard was the starbird sauce. The sauce is actually really delicious. A cross between mustard and thousand island (?) The sandwich was actually pretty big for a chicken sandwich and was only able to finish 3/4s. The bun used for the sandwich was a traditional bun topped with Parmesean. For the fries, they were just the traditional fries. However, since it was takeout, I added a sprinkle of truffle salt, microwaved 20 seconds and changed the game on the fries to go with the fried chicken. It was amazing. Definitely would recommend sprinkling some black pepper or salt on the fries to help bring out the flavor. I ordered this through Doordash and was surprised by how fast the delivery came through. These days, the restaurant's responsiveness to order requests is extremely influential for me. I appreciated their timeliness. I think if and when we're looking for a step aside the Popeye's chicken, we'll definitely be looking to get Starbirds' sandwiches.

Service is always 10/10 and the food at Starbird is fresh and full of flavor! Highly recommend!

I don't think I will order from them again - total I ordered 4 times from door dash/ubereat - this is second time that chicken wing covered with like 10% surface with their sauce - we are talking about classic BBQ and Buffalo sauce, nothing exotic. Their wings are consistent smaller than WingStop. But I seriously loss appetite looking at the wings when I received it last night - I notice the two times the less than ideal order happened around 6-9pm order. The order I placed from noon to afternoon was good. Their dipping sauces are yummy. But I won't risk again with 50/50 chance to have poor quality food.

My husband and I ordered delivery from here tonight. The salad portion was very generous. It was very tasty but they forgot to put dressing on it.. Which is like half of the fun of a good salad : ( My husband got the hotbird sandwich which was good. We also ordered fries which unfortunately were cold by the time our food arrived. Overall, I would give this place another try/chance. We ordered during Covid19 lockdown so maybe they were backed up and missed a beat with orders or were backed up?

The chicken is decent but the restaurant is plagued with problems. I had an order take two hours. They make mistakes in the orders. These things wouldn't be such a big deal (traffic happens, small mistakes happen) but the problem is that there is absolutely no communication. If my order is held up, TELL me. If you don't have the sauce I want, throw something in at least CLOSE to what I ordered. Email, text, phone - we live in a connected world now, friends! Take advantage! And forget about contacting them. No one answers their phone. Online help responds the next day. The selection is also pretty small. They used to have more options, like an amazing Buffalo chicken salad you could add bacon to. It's a shame. They have good chicken and salads, but they just can't get their act together. And it's only gotten worse.

When I initially placed my order from here, I was so worried that the pictures were going to be better than the actual food. Let me tell you, that could not be further from the truth. Not only did the bowls I ordered taste amazing but they were incredibly colorful, flavorful and filling. The portion for their bowls is HUGE and you get all the bang for your buck. I would definitely consider coming here if you want to try a place that really does live up to the hype. 5 stars!!

One of my favorite chicken spots in the Bay Area. I absolutely love their Nashville hot wings and their staff is always very professional and food comes in fast.

Guess what day is it?? Football Sunday!! Time for some more wings & fries but this time we also got some salad and chicken tenders!! We have : * Nashville Hot Tender * Fries and Slaw * Boneless Wings ( Sweet Thai Chili & Honey Chipotle BBQ flavor) * Sauces ( Star Sauce x2, Spicy Seoul Sauce, Greek Yogurt Ranch) I really like how soft the chicken tenders were even though they used white meat instead of dark meat. The fries were so delicious as well, perfectly made and crispy and flavorful! The boneless wings were omg! So delicious made just right and I air fried it using my air fryer and it tasted so much better! The sauce was so good too , my favorite was the spicy Seoul and star Sauce! Highly recommended to get those two sauces! The slaw was meh, would recommend that but everything else was delicious! They are currently open for takeout and delivery!

I stopped by because there was a sign out front that claimed the place had been voted the best chicken sandwhich. I wish I had gone next door to have a burger. I spent $40 on two sandwhiches, fries, slaw, and two drinks. There was an error with the kiosk when ordering wish did not allow me to order "truffle fries." The manager quickly corrected this by charging me $3.25 for a sprinkle of parmasean and a pinch of fresh parsley served over a bed of "cold" french fries. The fries I was given looked nothing like the picture. I had ordered a small Korean sauce that was flavorful, but the cold fries were just awful. The fried chicken sandwich was served equally "cold" on a toasted stale bun, which destroyed a flavorful take on a Bahn Mi sandwich. I was given two tiny leaves of romaine for my two sandwhiches because I complained about the stale bun. The cole slaw was okay, but nothing to write home about. The young lady who worked the register clearly had customer service experience. However, without the support of a real manager, there was little she could do to correct my clear dissatisfaction with the food and mostly the service. It is really difficult to serve this kind of food with poor service. On a positive note, the drinks were fantastic.

I really wanted a tasty salad and glad I found this place through DoorDash. I live nearby and it was delivered within 15 min. I'm going to be getting the chopped salad regularly. Sooo good.

We really appreciated their generosity to provide our lab department at SF general! I love their chips! A chocolate chip cookie was included. On top of their, big fried chicken sandwich! Thank you so much.

Missing items I paid for and no refund was issued . Got a chicken salad . Paid for extra meat and as well for extra dressing for my salad both items not in my order . Far beyond disappointed . I have order a salad and this looks like just a regular salad no extra meat .

um absolutely FIRE chicken holy wow. flawless crunch. juicy meat. incredible flavor experience when coupled with Starbird's Greek Yogurt Ranch. I consider myself a ranch connoisseur and this ranch exceeded expectations.

Bruh.. flame my g. The wings have a perfect crispy crunch to them but still stay moist (I know you ladies love that word) in the middle (Like y'all gon be after you bite this chicken). The seasoning tastes more natural, if that makes sense, like u can definitely taste the fresh ground spice in the Nashville hots, and the lemon pepper isn't salty (which don't make sense anyways) as other wing places. My only complaint is that I was give only two pieces each of celery and barrots in my "order". I get San Francisco is an expensive place but come on now, give a little more than that. The "star sauce", whatever the hell that is, pairs well with all types of chicken. Kinda like isla de mil but very different at the same time. Try it out, you won't regret it!!
