Starbird Chicken

My experience at this store location has always been great. Whenever I have an early morning flight, I make sure to get the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, and never disappoints. The food is always good, and the service is excellent. The staff here is friendly and welcoming, making my visit even better.

Late Dec2024 Chicken resto with a wide range of dishes and variations. Food wise the serving are large enough with an extensive menu. They also have a decent alcohol drink list which seems to be the trend now for some burger and sandwich joints. Counter service is quick and busy. Seating is fairly limited and often is not cleaned up after.

Best chicken sandwich I’ve had at an airport. It was Crispy and full of flavor. Chicken breast is huge and very filling. Fries were also crispy and not very salty.

Chain with electronic ordering I dislike electronic ordering as it reduces food to vending machine status. Watching the staff read a screen, assemble your order and slide it out onto the counter with out saying a word demeans the value and the restaurant has lowered itself to McDonald standards. Our chicken dinner okay. The chicken was crispy but the chicken tasted like it had been cooked twice so maybe precooked then then cooked again for my order? Nothing to rave about.

I’m going to leave the review up but will note that after filling out the survey, I was promptly contacted by the general manager who offered to have the kitchen remake the tenders or give me a refund. So I’ll give 5 stars for the customer service aspect. I can’t speak for other options on the menu, but I got the Nashville tenders and they were inedible because they tasted like straight up cayenne pepper. It’s like they dumped a bottle of cayenne on the tenders, nothing else, and called it Nashville hot. I would eat here again but absolutely not any of the Nashville Hot items.

I have eaten in starbird in SFO many times. The portion sizes have become extremely tiny so that I cannot in good conscience recommend this to anyone. Is the food better than BK - Yes. Will you get the food you ordered - Maybe. The service is atrocious. They are pretty slow for a burger chain and then the person calling out the name wantedly, mispronounces your name to make it funny, but doing this in a forceful manner is irritating. The person handing out the food has one job to deliver the correct food to the correct person. When you can't do that ( as evidenced by at least one incorrect order in the 10 mins I waited there), the system you are using for calling people after food is ready is no longer working

Transiting through SFO and wanted some dinner - and was very much underwhelmed by what was on offer in the Admirals Club nearby, so thought I’d try a chicken burger. Very positively surprised by the burger - super tasty, not greasy, freshly made and hit the spot. No seating area so the airport atmosphere is whatever. Can recommend if you are in SFO. Will search out other Starbird locations now!

Chicken Katsu was good. Big portion, chicken is moderately salted and seasoned. Two sauses were full of flavor. It's a perfect idea to grab here something before a flight.
