Starbird Chicken

It’s really a 3.5. Out of all the places in the San Francisco airport this is the one that looked the most appetizing and didn’t have reviews that deterred me. For airport food and airport chicken, not bad. I got the chicken tender box and it was decent—as well as the fries. Is it worth $20? For sure no. And they charge you for all the extra sauces. I liked the star sauce the best—good to dip the fries in. And then the BBQ sauce. Classic. Overall, I feel pleasantly surprised and satisfied.

Starbird is a solid choice for comfort food inside San Francisco Airport, especially considering the limited dining options available. Service was very quick as well! The burger was flavorful, with tender, crispy chicken and a generous layer of mashed avocado that helped balance out the richness. While I appreciated the overall quality, I did find everything a bit too salty for my taste—especially the roasted corn, which was so heavily seasoned I couldn’t manage a second bite. That said, if you’re craving a satisfying chicken burger before your flight, this is one of the better bets in the terminal.

First time, here. I ordered the Starbird 2.0. Awesome. The staff was getting down. The chicken was hot and juicy. I also grabbed the strawberry lemonade (superb). 10/10. If you're jumping off a plane, or you are experiencing a 7 hrs. layover, check them out. Worth it.

When at this airport and I’m hungry this is usually my easy, comforting food option. They do have a few options, but I just go with simple chicken tenders with their star sauce and honey mustard (because you can pick 2 sauce options). The portion is quite good - the 3 pieces option is enough for me with the fries. It can get busy, so have to be mindful of that. But otherwise, I like this little spot.

Highly recommend the “Lil’ Tender Box”, which included two large nicely seasoned chicken strips, fries and a drink. It’s enough for a full meal for a normal person and amazingly priced at ≈$8. We also bought the Starbird Classic sandwich, which was good, too. The service was fast and friendly. The staff pays attention to customers, reading out orders clearly, and keeping things cleanly. While watching so many airport restaurants drop their standards further and further in their pricing, service and food quality, it’s a relief to see restaurants like this holding high standards. This is my favorite chicken, it tastes so fresh and portions are nice! You can pick a sauce for your fries too, I went with buffalo. It doesn't have much seating area though

Late Dec2024 Chicken resto with a wide range of dishes and variations. Food wise the serving are large enough with an extensive menu. They also have a decent alcohol drink list which seems to be the trend now for some burger and sandwich joints. Counter service is quick and busy. Seating is fairly limited and often is not cleaned up after.

Best chicken sandwich I’ve had at an airport. It was Crispy and full of flavor. Chicken breast is huge and very filling. Fries were also crispy and not very salty.
