I worried that they may be closed but I was able to walk in at 6:58pm and get a box of bread. It was my first time visiting this location because I used to go to the one in Vallejo. I'm not sure if this is due to the late hour I visited the bakery but the bread was very disappointing. The flavor was similar to what I had in Vallejo except much sweeter. The bread was drenched in so much syrup that it was soaked through the middle and every piece was stuck together so hard that I could not get one out without breaking it. It was also very dense, not airy and soft like the ones from Vallejo maybe because it was so wet. I was happy to find a location closer to home but I might continue to go to Vallejo for starbread if this is the norm here.

Walked in to buy a $3 donut. Card payment? Not allowed unless it’s $10+. Cash? Also not allowed unless the bill is under $20. So apparently you need the exact type of money they feel like accepting to buy a donut. Ridiculous, annoying, and completely customer-unfriendly. Lost a customer over pure nonsense.

Went to this spot for the first time, based on recommendations from others. Yum! The senorita bread is so simple and delicious!! I highly recommend you be prepared to eat a few as soon as you get them. Hot and fresh and super delicious! Even a few hours later and they were still delicious. But hot and fresh are the way to go! I will have to come back for more!

Only the Senorita breads worth 4 stars. Like other comments, the donuts are overpriced. The dough was just dry. Not worth $2.5~3/each. The mini pandan cakes were also dry and too much pandan extract that made the color oddly green and strong artificial flavor. The mochi donuts were also dry and not chewy, just like dry sponge. If you had mochi donuts before, you know how they supposed to taste like.

The famed seniorita bread is always great, warm, sticky and delicious. Kids and adults love them, with the only problem being you can't eat just a few, so buy extra. Everything else us kind of meh...tried donuts, cupcakes, etc...haven't found anything else we like there.

This is to-go only place but there are a steady stream of customers. It is an amazing treat. The señorita bread is the star of the show. Imagine a tiny croissant with a nice glaze inside. Getting a box of señorita bread is a great idea for the office, dealership, or your next party. You can't only eat one so multiply accordingly. Eat them while they're hot, even in the car on the way home.

Very rarely do I get quality bread, most times they are either cold or hardly seasoned. Customer service is also poor.

Came for the señorita bread and stayed for it :) This chain the the best in the world for dessert. I say that with confidence.

It was just as delicious as we remembered--that perfect, melt-in-your-mouth sweetness that we've been missing since our Daly City days. It's dangerous having a location so close to home now, but we aren't complaining! If you're looking for a guaranteed hit for a party or just a treat for yourself, this is the spot. Service was friendly and fast btw! Not sure how long it's been since they've been here but I'm glad they're in the neighborhood!

I usually go to the Pittsburg location as it's closer to home (and used to go to the Fairfield one a lot when I lived out that way and of course to Vallejo for many years as it's my hometown). Decided to get Starbread last minute on my way to a business meeting and pleasant hill was the closest detour. These are supposed to be given "Hot and FRESH" and I was so disappointed that they were NOT fresh and were stale, warmed up rolls. It was my clients first time trying it and I recall grabbing one during the meeting and almost gagging after the first bite cuz it was dry but forced myself to finish it. Yes, I've had stale senorita breads but as leftovers a day or two after lol... not when first purchasing them as they're supposed to be "fresh" They were also flat looking, and the flavor was just off compared to what I'm used to. Been having senorita breads since their first location opened in Vallejo back in the early 2000s. I honestly don't recall ever being grossed out. Felt silly how much I hyped them up for my clients to try them. Usually people can't have more than just 1 and no one went back for seconds. I'm just more disappointed that I brought these as a treat for the meeting and they were just so wack. Otherwise I'd just let it go. I should've known when I was told to wait 5 minutes and heard what sounded like the breads getting warmed up in a microwave or oven. Usually other locations have brought them out quickly without having to wait and they've always been FRESH.

A Bay Area classic. When in the area I make it a point to visit and get my fix. Always served pipping hot. You literally just can't have one. I'd say get a bag of 5 and just live a little. Service is welcoming, professional and yet very laid back. They take their reviews seriously and make changes if needed based on customer feedback. That's good service and explains their longevity and expansions. Ambiance is an order and go spit, no place to sit down or anything. Standing room only. Rule of thumb place your order, the. Go wait outside for it to be ready. Depending on the size of your order it can take up to 6 minutes to prepare.

Senorita bread was hot! Fresh and tasted how I remember it being. In and out less than 5 minutes. No seating it's to go only.

Malasadas guava chocolate & ube + star read for the win.. all tasty and not too sweet. Solid win

Always gotta make a stop whenever in the area and a fave yummy treat to gift others. Can't go wrong with their Senorita bread, always piping hot out of the oven and for such a good price! I always get around 20 of these, they don't last too long and taste best fresh. They serve other items like mochi donuts, regular donuts, cake pops, cupcakes, pan de sal, corn bread and haupia. Fresh and hot or room temp, these make a great snack and go great with coffee. Definitely not a daily indulgence, but still a nice once-in-a-while kind of treat and a hit at parties! Service is always quick, the wait isn't any longer than 5 minutes straight from the oven and their bread is unmatched. The interior is small but clean. They accept cash and card.

Starbread has some of my favorite pastries! I'm happy to see there are more StarBread Bakeries opening. Their buttery and sweet senorita bread always hits! I also love how they're always served warm. The staff was very friendly and we got our pastries as soon as we ordered them! I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Wanted to try some señorita bread as I have seen it online so many times now. It was super yummy and warm, soft and doughy, with a melty buttery sweetness that you almost can't get enough of. The bakery itself is very small but the cashier was super nice and everything came out quick. They did have other pastries in there including donuts, donut holes, cupcakes, and some more goods. It's cash only if your order is under $10, otherwise they accept card.

Wish there were more StarBread bakery in the Concord/Pleasant Hill/Walnut Creek area! The Concord place is the only one! The Starbread is fresh and hot when boxed! Perfect size and buttered! We usually get a box of 20! Very good to get for a party at work or home! There are many other bakery goods to select from. We love the Malasada. The staff are very friendly and professional. When you are in the area, stop by and try it! You won't regret it!

I like coming here for a treat from time to time. The selection of donuts, senorita bread and other goodies in the glass case are awesome. Minus a star because my last two times here the senorita bread was not sweet on top and was cold ... this was during a pick up around 230... is it not always warm or hot? The service is not that friendly either. I guess they know they are going to continue to get customers so no need to be friendly?

What's not to love about this place. A true Bay Area icon, there is simply nothing else quite like it. In a world of so many fancy sweets and pastries, starbread holds its own. It doesn't need any fancy gimmicks or designs, just a delicious tan bread. If you've never had it before, star bread is a sweet, buttery bread. It comes in packs of varying sizes, the price is what it should be, and it is always served warm- how it should be eaten every time. The ham and cheese and mochi donut were good, but we all know the real winner. There's no doubt this is a frequent treat of ours in the area. A Bay Area must have!

StarBread is really the star!!! So tasty, buttery, soft, and a little sweet. I always like to bring StarBread to parties or just to eat as a treat. The shop is very small with no seating so to go only. They are normally pretty fast depending on how many pieces you order. I have only tried the main bread they sell but would love to try their other baked goods! The best part is that the bread reheats really well so it can last a couple days after buying :)

This is definitely an IYKYK kinda place. It's one of a kind, and once you go, you'll go back again and again. Nearly impossible to get home with a full box, unless you put em in the trunk

Oh my goodness. You have to try this place if you have never. It will be an experience. Then you have to buy a bunch of bringing it home to your friends and family. I'm telling you it's that good. I work as a therapist at a local mental health clinic and we have it at every party.

This StarBread Bakery is practically across from Sun Valley Mall, and shares a parking lot with a 7-11. The place is small, no sit down tables here. However, it never disappoints. I ordered about 45 pieces, split up between 2 boxes. The wait was 7-10 minutes but was so worth it because my order came out piping hot! FYI on payment: they do not accept Apple Pay, so a physical card is needed; there is a $10 minimum for card payments; and no cash bills over $20 accepted.

4/16/25 I happen to be in Walnut Creek this day to take a test. After I was done, I searched for a good donut shop. By surprise StarBread showed on the listing in Pleasant Hill. I was in disbelief because the only one I've been to was in SoCal. I proceeded to the location and there it was...("ahhhhhh"sound effect). Went inside, ordered a lil 20 piece just for the family. I was hoping the reviews were accurate about the Seniorita Bread being fresh and warm, and not hard and stale. Once I my order came to me, I paid, touched the box to pick up and walk out, and before I took a step, OMG the bread was nice and warm! Fresh out the over order! Oh boy, I couldn't wait to eat one. Took one out and finished it in seconds. Soooo good!!! To my amazement, I was a complete satisfied customer this day. In the future, "I'll Be Back."

I'd hate to make this review, but felt necessary. My family loves señorita bread and we love bringing them to friends' parties. But this bakery has not been the same, and considering they are now almost $1 each! I consider myself a senorita connoisseur ;) the quality of the bread here has gone down. The bread is supposed to be rolled and filled with sugar butter, and topped with bread crumbs to add some crisp to it. The past 2 years I've ordered, sometimes they're undercooked (I always have to ask them to cook until brown) ; they're not rolled; and because they're not rolled, they come out flimsy and missing that crispiness. It's not the same ;/ I've also ordered the mochi donuts - it wasn't mochi. I think they mixed flour in it, which made it kinda cakey. It's supposed to be sticky but firm. I've also ordered the ube malasadas. The filling was gray and just tasted like custard with food coloring - gray. I don't think there was any ube in it. I hope they go back to old señorita recipe and baking technique

Hesitating on putting a review for this place because I want to gatekeep this bakery. When I tell you...this senorita bread altered a chemical in my brain... It's so good! To start, it's not too heavy, it's very airy and fluffy and you can eat it in 2 bites! Not too sweet, just the right amount of butter and sugar coating, and when we got it, it was steaming hot! Make sure to warm it up before eating. I got 30 of these little guys and gave it to my friends and family, and they all absolutely loved it. I think I paid around $20 for everything which is not bad!

Ordered 10 pieces of Senorita Bread. Very hot, fresh, made to order, tasted great. They raised their prices again. Almost a dollar a piece now. The guava filled donut was excellent and seemed to priced fairly at $2.50. Had tons of filling. Inside was clean and the cashier was friendly

Senorita bread served up piping hot, dripping with butter and sugar (double-bagged to go!) Also picked up filled malasadas in guava and chocolate, and my kinds liked the glazed and chocolate donuts. Spend at least $10 to use a credit card/Apple Pay. Around the corner from DVCV

I know those that bought Starbread and I've eaten them, but I've never went inside the actual bakery. The Starbread is hot, tender and sweet. I love it! Starbread goes great with hot, flavorful coffee

There's nothing quite like fresh senorita bread! So glad that there's a place nearby that sells it. Soft, fluffy, not too buttery and sweet, but definitely an indulgence. They also sell mochi donuts which are pretty good. Nice texture - the dough has a bit of crispiness, and the interior is super soft. Flavors are alright - some of them have more flavor than others. I liked the chocolate and the chocolate cookie ones. The others were good, but the flavor didn't pack that much of a punch. Easy parking in the lot. Expect a short wait!

Service isn't great! Does not like coins as the manager said, do not bring coins in here....

In a strip mall, unassuming, simple inside and outside storefront. And then...WARM, GLORIOUS, sugar, and butter SENORITA BREAD comes out and it is divinely comforting. If you're lucky to get fresh out of the oven it is nearly impossible to eat just one. Next think you know, you're eating two, and then you're like - hey at this point, let's eat three. Are there other items there? Yes, mochi donuts, pan de sal, ube breads...BUT the SENORITA BREAD is the star. Is it overhyped? I mean yah if you don't allow yourself to indulge! So give yourself permission and give in!

StartBread Bakery lives up to the hype! After seeing some glowing reviews and TikTok videos, I had to check it out, and I was not disappointed. The standout for me was the mochi Oreo donut--an incredible fusion of textures. The chewy mochi base paired perfectly with the crunchy Oreo topping, creating a delightful balance of flavors and a satisfying bite. The macarons were equally impressive, offering a wide range of flavors at a very reasonable price. The bakery has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, and it's clear they put care into both presentation and taste. If you're a fan of unique, delicious treats, StartBread Bakery is a must-visit! I dont know if starbread is located in Vegas, but the trip to the bay area was definitely wroth the visit with tremendouse amounts of food to devour :)

From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and genuine friendliness--it felt like visiting family. Now let's talk about the Señorita bread--WOW. It's every bit as good as the hype suggests: soft, buttery, and perfectly sweet. But the real surprise? The malasadas. I wasn't expecting much, but they turned out to be just as incredible--pillowy, golden, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. This place has officially earned a spot in our hearts (and our weekend routine). We'll definitely be back again and again. Consider us lifetime customers!

If there's a line, you know you gotta go!! Starbread, also known as Señorita bread, came out fresh and hot! Super light and fluffy but be careful as it's might burn you because it's so hot. Definitely must eat when it's fresh!

This is a great little bakery. I'll have to admit, the Seniorita bread is not as good as the one in Vallejo, but it gets the job done. I think they don't use as much butter or something. They sell other pastries which are also worth trying. The staff is nice and everyone here likes to comment that it's located next to a Happy Lemon. I'm sure they get some foot traffic due to that yummy boba joint.

Not only do they have senorita bread, they have other food items like cornbread and donuts. The cornbread was great especially after adding some honey! They have regular and ube cornbread. They have regular donuts and mochi donuts! We got Oreo, ube, and churro. The place is really small - definitely not a place where you can sit down to eat. The service was friendly and quick!

Delicious senorita bread! It's the only thing I've tried. We ordered for a party and they were quick to accommodate our order. Nothing spectacular about service.... But didn't impact my overall experience. Would totally continue to frequent StarBread!

Go for the warm starbread. Can't vouch for anything else. Ask for warm ones. They are friendly and will always give you fresh ones if available.

Love me some senorita bread ! Went in on Sunday for a 25 piece and it was delicious and was so warm and butteryyyy The service was good quick and easy the place overall is pretty small and not much space to wait so I normally just wait in my car .

This place has a cult following at my work. We were introduced to it by an intern 8 years ago and there has been no looking back. Obvi the seniorita bread is a must get. But I also really like their filled jelly donuts, regular donuts, corn bread, mochi donuts, etc. The filled donuts have become a Chanukah staple in our break room. Service is always fast and friendly.

They have many selections! Their Ube cornbread is the bomb!!! The price is reasonable.

The Dude and I came to the infamous StarBread Bakery on 01/03/23 as we were hearing so much hype about it. We really wanted to try this place out not only for their bread but for the Ube items as well. I have a gluten intolerance and cannot eat a lot of things with gluten :( . So when I entered I was greeted by a sweet lady. What was sweeter....was the inside, it smelled sooooo good. My gluten senses were tingling and I couldn't wait to over indulge!!!! It smelled absolutely delicious inside. It is also pretty small inside too. I ended up getting the Senorita Bread of course!!! We got about 18 or 20. I got a Ube Malasada and Guava as well along with. Ube cake. I gave the Senorita Bread 8/10. It was sweet and buttery at the same time. I think I scarfed down 3. It was good but I think I was expecting it to be more flavorful as the other reviews add. I didn't get a rich buttery taste. But it was good. Probably would not get again. I took a bite of the Malasada of Ube and Guava 7/10. It tasted stale but good. The Ube Cake was my personal favorite. I love Ube!!! Ube all day!!! It was good but it had a weird aftertaste and I don't like the artificial color as it left my tongue purple. Too much dye. Real Ube is not that dark purple color. Anyways the dude thought it was good too. We ended up giving them to the dudes family for breakfast. His 93 year old grandmother loved them with her morning coffee and other relatives who were over too! We were so happy to share as it was a staple of memories for them growing up. Overall, I would return in a heart beat to share bread with the dudes family and especially our Mema as she enjoyed them!!! So this place is very much special us. When we are in town visiting we are going to come by again!

If you are a carb monster, this is definitely the place for you! Well known for their señorita bread, StarBread Bakery was founded in the late 1980s by the Maranan family in Vallejo, CA. Since then, it has grown into a small chain with locations in NorCal, SoCal, and NV. This one is situated inside a small strip mall at the corner of Contra Costa Blvd and Golf Club Rd, across the street from Sun Valley Mall. Although they offer a variety of baked goods, señorita bread is definitely their #1 seller. Why #1 you ask? See below. 1). It covers three major food groups - bread, butter, and sugar. 2). Perfect size - three bites max. 3). It's always made fresh. The bread is light and airy with a beautiful crust. Each piece is slathered with a copious amount of melted butter and sugar. What's there not to love? This delightful snack is perfect with a cup of coffee and tea. You better get lots because one piece is never enough. Prices have gone up a bit since the beginning of 2022 but are still reasonable. Service is always friendly.

StarBread is one of my favorite treats to have with a strong Coffee in the morning. You have to have it while it's fresh, as its buttery sweet undercarriage dries out if left in the box too long. You can revive it the next day with a quick 300 degree 4 min air fry but it's best enjoyed when finished within the first 24 hours of purchase.

StarBread Bakery is one of my go-to stops when visiting Sacramento. No matter how many times I've attempted to recreate it I can't get that iconic StarBread taste and texture. While there are many other baked goods that look delicious I've only ever ordered the iconic señorita bread. They're soft, hot, fresh little rolled up sweet and buttery buns. We always order at least 100 buns to bring back home and share but you can absolutely put down (and should) a row when you first order them. They should be eaten right away but if (big if!) you have extras freeze them and microwave them for a few seconds and they're almost good as new. While sometimes there can be a wait they're definitely worth it to have them hot and fresh!

This by far has to be the worst location when it comes to quality and freshness of the senorita bread. I bought $100 worth of this bread and some were overcooked and some were undercooked resulting in food poisoning and or uneatable rolls. Am super disappointed since other locations are simply not like this! Avoid this location if you can and try a different location that is consistent with quality and freshness!

Starbread is a staple. I love everything about a beautifully warm piece of bread with melted butter and sugar with every bite. I used to go to the Vallejo location for over two decades and now I'll pop off at the San Pablo one or this one. They even do donuts, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and so much more than the bread. But if you're looking to bring something to a potluck, a baby shower, or just a surprise, stop off at starbread and always make sure you get at least a half a dozen pieces for yourself because they never make it a full count out of the box.!! The temptation is overwhelming and you end up eating a few on the way

Starbread has delicious Senorita bread. Freshly baked, milky, sweet, delicious! It is definitely a treat! You go in order, pay, wait a bit and voila you got your yumsters to go! The amount to pay depends on the number of breads ordered and they are presented in a to-go box. So if you are heading to a friends house and need a tea time snack, this is an option for sure.

Who doesn't love starbread?! I had some family in town from the East Coast who had never had of it. They loved it.

Senorita bread is delicious. Hot, buttery, and sweet. One is not enough. Treats are affordable. $1.00 after 5pm. Thats a good deal! Parking is a lot.

The Bavarian cream filled chocolate iced donut is my go to flavor! We also enjoyed the strawberry jelly filled glazed donut as well as the blueberry filled one. Great little donut shop, they tasted fresh even though we stopped by in the afternoon. I was also happy to see that the prices were reasonable.

They are very good... this location is quick and there senorita was good . Some locations are stingy with the spread here it wasn't lacking
