This H Street NE Starbucks Will Soon Be Staffed by American Sign Language-Fluent Employees | Eater DC

"I learned that the D.C. Signing Store is inspired by a similar Starbucks Signing Store in Kuala Lumpur that opened in 2016, and that a Starbucks team traveled to Malaysia to gather inspiration and best practices for opening the Washington, D.C. location." - Adele Chapin

A very cozy signing branch, with very spacious open area, not so cold, got a lotsa chairs and sofas. Staffs are overall friendly. I was here mostly during weekdays, it's always not fully occupied. Happy Malaysia Day, cheers with great promo @RM6.80 only!

Starbucks at Bangsar Village 2 remains a fantastic choice for a coffee break, consistently delivering top-notch service, drinks, and ambiance. The outlet is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, much like my previous visit, creating a pleasant environment to relax or work in the heart of Bangsar. The atmosphere is calm and soothing, free from excessive noise, making it a peaceful haven in a busy area. The hearing-impaired staff were professional, patient, and friendly, adding a wonderful touch to the experience. While the coffee quality and pricing are as expected, it’s the inviting setting and dedicated service that make this Starbucks a standout. A solid five-star experience all around!

First time at a handsign branch and ordering process was smooth. Rare to see it but you love to see it that certain corporations whether large or wrongfully resented at least walks the talk.

We were craving for a Matcha Latte and luckily, there was one near us and we headed here. So thankful to have come across this outlet. It was the first outlet that we have come across that supports the deaf community by giving them jobs as baristas. At the time of visit, a male staff was super attentive to me even though I have yet to ask for assistance on a bag I was eyeing. He was super friendly and enthusiastic. Even the female cashier was all smiles. The place was really clean, quite and cozy. A very good respite after the noisy streets of Bangsar or if you want a place to rest your tired feet. Definitely recommend stopping by this Starbucks and get some souvenirs to support them. Thumbs up!

This Starbucks could be the first and probably the only 1 that have employed hearing impaired employees and couldn’t be happier. Gives you a different perspective when you order your drink by writing. The whole ambiance is great even tho it’s silent. Will surely come back to enjoy the drink in this calm atmosphere.

One thing I love to do in Google Maps is to give credit where credit's due, but also to pay out on Starbucks. Still, this is my favourite Starbucks in town because it is managed and run by the deaf. The service I get from this Starbucks is better than most Starbucks outlet that I go to, which is ironic. Of course the coffee and drinks will taste the same as per Starbucks anywhere, but one good thing about this store are the comfy chairs. If you're lucky enough to snag an armchair, you won't want to leave for some time - it's too comfortable. Sadly, this is abused by many patrons who are not even customers of the place. As a customer, learn to say thank you in sign language to the staff (gesturing the tips of your hand from your lips to outstretched arm, palm up as if you are "giving" your thank you).

Great location in Bangsar Village 2. Nice ambience. Good place for meet ups. Lots of seating available. There's OKU or disable staff working here... Be patient. Please support this establishment b'cse the management are doing the right thing by hiring impaired hearing baristas. Recommended.
