ORDER AHEAD- ORDER AHEAD Firstly, I am so grateful that we have a drive thru Starbucks so close now! I anxiously waited for so many months until it finally opened! The design and layout out inside is so great. It’s a wonderful location to meet up, or if you’ve got some casual work or light reading, this is a great spot. My only complaint is how long it takes to be serviced. I have been in line for 20 minutes now and I’m still several cars back from the pick up window. I feel bad for the person a few ahead, with their car top down in the sweltering sun! Literally if you’re not driving thru at opening up to 830 am on a weekend, or closing time, expect to wait in the drive thru for a very long time. I always kick myself for not ordering ahead. If you are nearby and suddenly think you’d love to pick up a quick coffee, just run into the Harris Teeter one across the street. This wait time kills me! Today was 10:36-10:57 for service. If you plan to go on your way to church, give yourself an extra 30 The staff has mostly been nice. They don’t seem to be over friendly but they do well for a customer service role. Minus the opening crew last weekend- I got there around 815 and I had ordered ahead. Ran in to get my drink and no one greeted me. It was empty (woohoo!) but they were all standing there quiet like brooding hens lol I know it’s early but the other locations have set the bar higher with being a lot more cheery and greeting every customer. So mixed feels on this place but super grateful to have it at all. I know time and coffee complaints are a first world problem.

I have been to this location multiple times and, when I have done the drive thru it is so slow. Then when I have ordered ahead, I end up waiting just as long. Today I tried to give it another chance and was given one of my frappuchinos and then waited another 10 min before my other one was ready and there was no one else waiting. And every time I am at the register or have noticed others at the register, no one acknowledges them to even say, we will be right with you. They are just chatting amongst themselves and ignoring the customers. I used to go to this location a lot before it moved and the customer service was always incredible, but I have not felt that once at the new location.

Good food and drinks, nice and polite staff, but the drive thru line is easily the slowest and least efficient of any Starbucks that I have ever been to. It doesn't matter if there is one car in line or ten, each time I wait almost 20 minutes for my order. Please improve the drive thru efficiency!

Great experience every time I go to this location. Its probably the best in Bowie. Very rarely have any issues with modifications. Drive through is very convienient. The new store location is good, a but further removed from the plaza but you can still get there on foot if needed. Much more room in the cafe area now as well.

I’ve tried to give this location a chance multiple times, but they never get it right. Then, have an attitude when you call them out about it. I’m officially bypassing this location and sticking to the one-by job.

Echoing another sentiment shared, lack of attention to detail. Even 1 customization is likely to be messed up. And pricing issues when there are promotions…if you don’t charge correctly, fix it instead of offering something different. I’d rather pay the proper amount & have my drinks made correctly. They used to treat their in store “regulars” better too but the new drive-thru has fixed that so theres been improvement.

They can't be this slow. Why do I keep doing this to myself? This is unacceptable! There nothing else to say about the service. The drive through needs improvement. The traffic patterns to the drive through is an accident in the making. A lady used the left turning lane to make a right turn almost colliding into me as I entered. She was in the wrong lane. She got impatient because the driver was making a left turn onto 450. I am going to stop using the drive through because it's so slow. I also want to find a better alternative for coffee. It's not worth the trouble and hassle to get a cup of damn coffee!

This is a fairly new Starbucks location. A Starbucks was located within the Free State Shopping Center, but it closed and this one opened up. This location is bigger and located in a previously owned bank, directly next to IHOP. They have a drive thru, which is normally convenient. Not for this Starbucks. It's more of a hinderance. I visited for the first time a few months ago. That specific day, the drive thru line was short but it still took forever to make my beverage. I chalked it up as them being new, so I let it slide. I decided to stop by again the other day and it was literally only 1 car in front of me. He was waiting at the window already. It took 15 minutes for the car in front of me to receive their order. It took another 8 minutes for me to receive my beverage. At this point, I had an entire line of cars behind me. The staff that assisted me gave me a slight apologetic, "sorry." I'm not a daily customer of Starbucks because I don't drink coffee or any of the other glorified bevies they sale. I do enjoy a good medicine ball from time to time. So when I visit, I would hope it wouldn't take almost 30 minutes to receive a tea! The beverage I waited for, for over 20 minutes was horrible. I had to go home and add a few things to make it tasty. This was my 2nd and last time at this location. It looks very inviting on the inside and they have outdoor tables/seating available, but the pace of the workers is just ridiculous.

i've never had such a poor experience at any Starbucks. The drinks were ok - but the staff was horrible. Even "management" needs to return to corporate offices for training at this location. The "manager" was hoarding red cups, refused to provide me with one despite the daft I purchased a beverage. The worst part is rather than simply politely explaining why she was hoarding cups (and told me there were no more) she was just plain nasty. she and the other "manager" that happened to be working the register and ring me up have clearly lost the life they had for the job - neither of them wanted to be bothered. The manager that rung me up not only rolled her eyes at me when i made inquiry, she also waved me off dismissively - literally waved her hand at me. Disgusting behavior. After calling corporate to complain, my money was refunded. But my time was wasted and i cannot get that back. i will never patronize this location again. Starbucks does not have the monopoly on coffee beverages - I can get drinks anywhere. But i used to go to Starbucks for the service. Not anymore. Thanks, Veronica.

Starbucks was crowded this particular Friday morning, more crowded than usual. I would say I enjoy coming to this Starbucks because the service is always friendly and the drinks are made to perfection. But today it seemed like two Baristas let the pressure get to them. I won't use their names simply because one has been very kind in the past, the other I have never noticed. Unfortunately I had to return my drink twice, once after a not so remake and the second because the flavor was just as weak as the first one...why because they poured it from the same pitcher. The response I received is, "it taste like water because it's made with water", first I'm not stupid I know it's made with water and I know you all have done a better job. So please hold the attitude. Needless to say this certain somebody was rude today and I know it's not her ways so I'll excuse it this time little girl. Next time I won't be as nice and will put you in your place with kindness and words that you may or may not understand, it will be a respectful and polite tongue lashing tha you won't know it was until I exit the building. My advice stay calm, polite, even when you think you're right and sometimes recognize your drinks aren't always good which was the case today. My usual four star for this Starbucks has dropped to a 3. So as you all always ask in my messages, would you go back. The answer is YES. Someone had a bad day and the attitude fed to others...one other on staff. I bet they'll do better next time but for now your rating has dropped I'll revise after my next visit...if it's back to normal. For now you're a 3 because of unprofessional and unapologetic service.

The Staff and Management lack customer skills and service. Be prepared to see a lot of angry workers, no one will greet you they will just let you stand there at the register. Consumers were walking out and they didn't care at all. I asked loudly after standing in line even anyone was gonna acknowledged me and asked for a manger and was told she's to busy and you see it's busy. They do not have to worry about me supporting this establishment. You don't get to be rude, have horrible service and take my money at the same time!

About a 1-1.5: Not a fan of this particular Starbucks, as the drinks are not made correctly (whether they're mobile or in-person orders) - either ingredients are missing, the sizes are wrong, the customizations are not adhered to, and/or the drinks just do not taste good. The place gets a lot of traffic, so not sure if the staff is just overwhelmed or it's just a lack of attention to details. Most likely both. Tables and seats, as well as the trash area can be maintained better. +incorrect and inaccurate orders, both mobile and in-person +plenty of parking in plaza lot

This Starbucks is INCREDIBLY slow and customer service is poor. If you go to the drive thru, you will wait forever and also be stuck with no way to escape because of the way the drive thru is structured.If you order inside, you will stand at the register for over 5 minutes waiting for someone to even acknowledge you to take your order. Then, when you have to cancel your order because you have no more time to wait when it's been over 30 minutes, you will wait forever for someone to acknowledge you at the register for that. I understand they're busy but their staffing structure should match that. And no one should wait 20 minutes in a drive thru with only 1 person in front of them. If you're going to order here, order ahead of time for in store pick up and then drive there about 1 hour later (and you'll probably still have to wait). These occurrences can happen any time of day, and not just during the morning rush!

The staff at this location is always very friendly. You can tell they love their job. As far as the drinks I don't have any complaints. The Starbucks itself has always been very clean when I have visited! Some of the previous reviews seem a little order so give them another chance !

Slowest drive through EVER. One drink took almost 40 minutes. Drive through is supposed to be convenient and faster. This location it's neither. And because of the way the drive through is built you can't get out of the line if it takes too long so you're stuck waiting.

I see this location still has the slowest drive-thru line I have ever experienced. And you can't escape the slow line because of the way the lane has been constructed. No apologies for the wait either. I'm in the line now and have been waiting about 30 minutes. Ridiculous! I think this is my last time using this location.

My moms medium hot decaf latte was made exactly perfect except the only issue is she has to take out more student loads TO PAY FOR IT and sell her first born child. it was good with a good and happy staff with a cool sticker on the medium hot decaf latte. awesome

The most convenient Starbucks location to me for carryout. They accept app orders as early as 6am, and the staff here are fast and friendly. The space is really small and there are only a handful of tables to sit at. I would not choose this location to sit and do work. There can sometimes be a group of people waiting for their drinks, but it's never too long of a wait.

Such a pleasant Starbucks trip. My sister and I took our 3 littles yesterday afternoon to this location after a day of shopping and outings (after we bribed them with "starbies" all day) the drinks were perfect and actually had what all 5 of us wanted. The employees were very pleasant and even helpful to the other customers inside. One of the best Starbucks trips we've had!

The staff here is amazing. venti white chocolate mocha is my go to drink. The only reason I'm not giving 5 is because some days I can't taste the espresso only milk and I like it extra hot lately it's been warm at best. But I love the entire staff they are super busy , however they remain friendly and professional. Show them all respect when you enter they deserve it.

Dear Starbucks, please conduct random assessments on customer service. I really want to like this Starbucks due to its convenience however the last three times I have visited my order has been wrong and they have an attitude about it when I request to have it corrected. Don't tell me this oatmeal that resembles chicken noodle soup needs to steep 3 minutes to thicken - the last time I was here, i waited 10 minutes and it was still watery. Just make me a new oatmeal with less water and no follow-up turning your head and looking away with an attitude while I respond to your comment. The container top says to wait 3 minutes - I can read. I have no problem paying the premium prices for the products however if I do pay that price I want to receive the correct item to my specifications. Bring back the old standard of Starbucks customer service.

If the following applies to you, look no farther! This is your spot! I'm looking for the dependably-mediocre coffee I usually get at Starbucks, but I'd like for the coffee shop to be filled with a strange, uneasy crowd. I'd also like a few "regulars" constantly perched at the tables outside. These "regulars" should be puffing on cigarettes and have a homeless-y feel. When I am forced to walk between them to enter the coffee shop, I'd like to be covered in a cloud of cigarette smoke and body odor. I'd like the baristas to change every two weeks so that I'm never able to develop friendly dialogue and or feel comfortable there. Parking should be impossible. For an added sense of adventure, it would be great to have a liquor store next door to truly drain any remaining feeling of this coffee shop being an intellectually stimulating experience.

The worst wait ever for one single drink. (!!?!!) 16 minutes. Experience made worse by cashier standing there acting like the astounded group of frustrated, waiting, in-store customers were not worth their time to service. What is this?!?!?! In all fairness, they had Uber-Eats drinks being prepared rapid paced, -- while in-store customers stood around and stared at each other in complete frustration. 15 minutes and not one, single Uber-Eats order was picked up. Recommendation to Store: Priorities! * One barista should be making the Uber-Eats orders, plus another barista making the in-store orders. * Serve your customer that's physically present. * We are also the same customer that would use Uber-Eats, by the way.

As I am waiting for my drink a barista said to another barista "every salted cream foam added in every drink is hideous." WOW! At least said it when customers are not there. What is the old saying "If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.".

Man O' Man! Did this Starbucks ever rescue my brain! Spent most of a day at a customer site in Crofton. Was in desperate need of caffeine to stay awake for the drive back to the office in Reston, and then home. Ordered an iced Grande triple shot latte. I guzzled that bad boy in no time flat! Delicious and strong! Service was good and friendly!

Thank goodness for my neighborhood caffeine fix! They are offering some new things on the menu: more selections of breads and pastries, loafs, mini breakfast sandwiches, and my new fave is the spinach square! Yum- but don't be fooled by the display in the case because your heated one will be fresh out of the wrap! It is really good. Thanks for the updated variety. It goes to show you that you can't stay away from here too long or you'll get behind the times. I tried the new hazelnut macchiato which was a pleasant diversion from my normal cinnamon dolce latte or my vanilla latte lite with whipped cream. But it is good that those are still around too incase I need an afternoon picker-upper!

It's my neighborhood Starbucks. Most of the baristas have been there for some time. They remodeled not too long ago but it doesn't have that comfy, stay awhile feel that some coffee shops have. I usually order in advance, pick up and jet. There have been more than a few occasions where my easy order of a grande dark roast is not ready when I arrive. Other than that, it's a pretty standard Starbucks, no bells and whistles.

Remember the days when Starbucks gave you warm fuzzy feelings and it was more a special experience? I miss those days before they became what they are today. Well I went in the other day and tried their cold brew with "house made" vanilla cream. So the coffee was good, the service is average as in not fantastic but not awful either just nothing noteworthy. When there are likes there they do get through them quickly and orders made right. Just wish they had a drive through like the one in Crofton (and that one always has a line wrapped out back). So typical present day Starbucks, convenient and consistent.

It's Starbucks - it's pretty straightforward. But a lot of my fellow customers had disappointments regarding their drinks, this afternoon. Let me be clear - my drink was fine, but it was pretty basic hot coffee and steamed milk. Other customers complained about their cold drinks -and one green tea (whose customer came back in from her vehicle to complain) being poorly made. One woman, who'd had her drink made twice, ultimately asked for a refund. Her friend fussed over the amount of time it'd taken to get that label of dissatisfaction. Yet another customer had to wait for his drink to be remade. The barista offered him a free gift card ... repeatedly. He refused ... repeatedly. Maybe the crew was having an off day.

This is my go-to spot while waiting for my preschooler Mondays through Thursdays. Most of the baristas that I see there have been there for quite some time (at least since my son's first year of preschool last year), sadly the only one I know by name (my fault not theirs) is Meech but there is a super solid crew in the morning! This location is SO much less crowded than the one in the Towne Center and at least I can park here. Admittedly, the lot can get pretty hectic but it always clears out around 11 am. The displays are organized and I've yet to notice any dust anywhere. The bathrooms are ALWAYS clean in the mornings. I love that! At worst, it can get full of regulars, as there are several of us. Only one day in a year and a half have I had trouble connecting to the internet but ended up not needing it anyhow. I'll be there at least until my son's preschool year is over in May.

I know starbucks. I drink there a lot. I'm not an addict- i swear. I was there so i decided to check them out. It was a non-busy time so I don't know how they work under stress. this location was a bit smaller than my fav location with only 4 "home type" chairs and two little tables with wooden chairs. They also a counter by the baristas which had three chairs but the manager had all of her stuff spread all over the counter so it was unavailable to guest. The drink was made right. The staff was courteous but not overly friendly. There really wasn't anything special about the place that would make me want to come back. all in all it was just a starbucks. if you want coffee- go there. if you want ambiance, shopping, great service and coffee.... go to bowie town center.

I think the staff really tries to push the drinks out as fast as they can. Most days I'm in and out and occasionally you have to wait. The staff is always smiling and helpful though. They deserve 5 stars for customer service!

Quick, accurate & friendly. Best starbucks around. Store is very small with virtually no seating especially in morning when regulars are there. Biggest issue is the ridiculously small parking spaces and not enough of them. They got rid of outdoor tables which finally curbed the smoking area so you don't have that when you walk in anymore.

I like this place MINUS the high schoolers that mob the place around 3pm. I had an issue with a defective travel coffee mug that i bought and the manager let me come in and exchange it no problem. And even the one time i wasn't satisfied with my drink they fixed it immediately and didnt charge me for the extra shot...Great customer service! And they know how to make my White Chocolate Mocha perfectly!!

Umm yea. Do your partners know what customer service is? Or possibly what your cleanliness standards are? They might want to check that out. One girl changed the trash, then "washed" her hands in a RINSING sink, then finished my drink. Eww needless to say I won't be drinking it or coming back to this one. And I'm sure all the milk that was sitting on the counter was out of temp too. Hopefully your customers won't get sick.

I badly needed a cup of coffee so stopped off for a small regular coffee and walked into two staffers having a laugh about someone, either a previous customer or a staffer who'd gone off duty, which is something I really dislike hearing when I am in a store. If they are spending all their time tearing up people, they are obviously not focused on customers or service and when I checked with the staffer how she'd made my coffee she assured me she'd added the extra hot water into it that I'd asked for But I had to taste it and it sure was made with old thick coffee so I had to ask for additional hot water and add two bags of sugar. Needless to say the half and half was dregs in the bottom of the pitcher and warm. UGH. This place is badly run or managed and isn't it time the Starbucks regional manager cracked down on these lazy staffers?.

This location is hit or miss...when ordering a regular coffee, it's perfectly fine. When ordering a specialty coffee, you may get what you are used to getting at most Starbucks, but you may not. Sometimes the caramel macchiato is great, sometimes it tastes like sour dish water. If I'm in a rush and I need to stop here, I stick to the regular pike coffee. It's crowded in the mornings, but the lines moves quickly.

This Starbucks is really small compared to the average Starbucks. There isn't a lot of seating and it doesn't have much ambiance. It gets very crowded. I've never really had a good drink from this place either. I've never had a bad chai tea latte until I had one from this Starbucks. The last time I visited, the young lady who took my order was not very friendly.

Be careful this Starbucks likes to Over charge you on your drinks. I love Starbucks. I travel around the country and always stop at Starbucks. I order the same drink 90% of the time. This Starbucks has consistently charged me extra for Milk since I request 5 pumps of Chai. This is not even logical. This activity is supported by management at this location. I have a called and complained to Starbucks but it is no longer worth it. I travel by this location and go to Bowie Town Center or will not even drink at Starbucks.

I'm on the fence with this review because the weekday staff is great but the weekend staff can be terrible and impatient. I'm not a fan of them asking for the drink while you're still standing in line because you not only have to shout it out to them but, like today, they got frustrated when I told them it wasn't right. I can go elsewhere if I have to deal with eye rolls and attitude!

The Starbucks at Waugh Chapel has done a wonderful job improving their service and friendliness since I last reviewed them at Christmas. They are much more professional and consistent with their product. I am not sure if they did anything or maybe I hit it on a bad day but as I sit here today this store is not the same. THANKS!!!!!!
