I've had bad experiences there 3 times, 2 with the chubby short manager. And once, by the taller, chubby white manger, and I can honestly say none of the times were my fault just a few days ago, they told me they were going to charge me more half-and-half, and it's literally free to grab on the counter near the napkins. The two managers are literally miserable. You can tell they hate their life for obvious reasons. Once you see them, you'll know what I mean. Do not go there. They'll love you if you don't ever ask them for remakes when they mess with your drinks. As long as you can do that, you're OK with them. Starbucks Inc please retrain your managers, especially at 1955 41st Ave Capitola off Clair St.

The standard Starbucks experience. The baristas are quick and friendly, and is a good location to grab a coffee before heading out for the day, or as your coming back. There's a decent sized parking lot, so parking shouldn't be an issue.

I asked for minimal ice. Barista disregarded order. I asked to remake drink, she did what she wanted and when confronted as to why, she dismissed me and said im not allowed in the store. Apperently paying for your order and asking for what i like is not welcomed there? Why? Because I was Mexican? Racist Starbucks.

I tried to go and get a venti water from this location The clerk had the nerve to tell me I had a purchase something since when I also asked if I could use the restroom she said the same thing I'm thinking probably because I'm of African American descent I felt very discriminated against at this location never again

Normally this location is solid but this is now the second time I have got delivery from here where the order was wrong or they did not place order in a to go tray or with the white sticker over the drink. This is super disappointing.

The barista’s are the nicest I’ve come by in a while. Not only did they help me get my drink right, it was done with kindness and it was at 6am, no less! Thank you for a great experience!

Well let me tell you I have been working around this Starbucks for a couple of years now and have seen new faces, but I can definitely tell people that this is my favorite location to come and get my specialty drinks, they are fast and efficient when I have an order it’s ready on time. As I am trying to be a little more health conscious I order a specific drink and they are the best they do not take short cuts, they make it how I order it and the customer service is great they make me feel very welcome

Horrible. 5 people in there and they have no idea how to make a venti iced Carmel macchiato . The fact I have to show them how it looks from the Starbucks app is ridiculous. Ruined my morning. Train them better. I shouldn't have to come in and show them.

Worst location and worst customer service you will ever receive here in Capitola. This particular store is randomly closed any day of the week with a hand written sign that says "closed." It will be closed on a random Saturday, during the week, whenever. Today I went in around 5:30 (Thursday) to order a coffee. Two girls were working today. It wasn't busy, there was no line. Apparently some woman was in there and accidentally placed an order at a different Starbucks. One girl is trying to make all her drinks. The other girl is mopping. Neither of them greeted me, said hello, or even looked up to say they would be right with me. The girl holding the mop walked by me twice without acknowledging me or my husband. We waited at the counter for 10 minutes before we just decided to leave. We went to Peet's instead. Whomever is running this particular Starbucks should be embarrassed. It's too bad. I normally never leave negative reviews on places, but I just hate seeing my town consumed with cookie cutter businesses when a mom and pop coffee place would do a much better job in that location.

I swear this is thee ONLY solid Starbucks anywhere and I mean that literally, I've been all over the world and this one never fails. The ratio they teach their employees at this location is always the best! The staff is always friendly here, food requests are always met properly, and the ambiance is unique in its own way with their little wall of special shoutouts. Keep up the rest work y'all!

But this is one of those Starbucks where filthy vagrants, and I mean literally filled the, dirt and smell covering the person, just hang out at the tables without purchasing any products. Someone carded in all of their junk, pilot up on the table, and occupied the last table in the restaurant.

Disappointed.. I starting going to Starbucks 41st in Capitola CA instead of Peets on Bay Ave, Capitola bc I love the music better. I usually ask for a large water with ice which is known to be "No Charge" at all Peet's & Starbucks with purchase. Barista Laura on June 29th 9am at 41st refused to give me a large and advised she's not aloud to give a large after giving me a small. A silly rude argument happened reciting company policy. I told her I order a large with ice every time I visit Starbucks and Peet's with no prob. I put down $3.00 on counter and asked again, may I have a large water please with ice so I can take my morning medications. She said I can't pay for one and reluctantly gave me a large water with "no ice" with a bit of a ghetto attitude. I wI'll not be back. *** On my way to Peet's Coffee on Bay Ave where people treat you like family and go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. "Good mornings!!" "Have a great day! " and sometimes an extra warm banana bread on rare occasions bc you're a regular and tip well. Sorry Starbucks.. I tried, one bad apple can spoil the fun for me. With 6 coffee shops within a mile of each other, I won't be back. On my way to Peet's on Bay Ave, Capitola where life is comfortable and staff welcomes you, while I work for a few hours on a Sunday morning and awesome regulars who help out the elderly to their car or grabbing their coffee off the counter and help them get situated bc people actually care about others. Lots of love and kindness there.

I had the worst experience at the Starbucks on Claire's Street today. My usual go to Starbucks had made my drink and then realized they were out of half-and-half instead of making them dispose of the drink they mentioned I could go to another Starbucks to get the half-and-half put in along with a cold foam that I get on top so I headed off to Starbucks on Claires Street when I told the gal at the front what was going on she said I could use the self serve half-and-half and she would make the cold foam for me when I went to put half-and-half in our drinks. It was empty so I had to take it to the front counter to her and told her it was empty, she already looked irritated. She went and got the gallon of half-and-half and put it in the 1st cup, I asked if I could get a little bit more and she looked very frustrated as she poured it in she was explaining to me that next time I would have to pay more I then told her I did pay extra because I always get extra half-and-half. She starts pouring it into the other cup and was so mad that she splashed it in hard making it overflow all over the counter and all over the cup I then told her she should actually make that whole drink over again and she just kinda laughed. This is the second bad experience I have had there with the two caucasian chunky managers that work there. Basically when it comes to the Starbucks, if you complain about a mistake on their part or let them know that a drink is not done the way you ordered they will give you attitude and be extremely rude. It amazes me that this individual stated she was a manager or a shift manager when I asked to speak to someone.

Considering how ridiculously busy this store is, I like they do such a good job. They have decent seating for a smaller store too which is nice. Everyone was nice but my only complaint is that the crew member, Rose, had the most bizarre social skills with customers. She was so passive aggressive and condescending to everyone I saw her help in the 7 minutes I was there waiting for my order. No wonder people are upset with the service here! Besides her, everyone else was great. The drinks definitely did not get filled by any means though which felt like a rip off. Good experience but won't be coming back to this location.

Is is ok on the fly.... If you really need your coffee fix. But the wait time for the coffee was soooo long. The associates were friendly. But there we two people taking orders and two people making drinks. One of the people taking orders was just standing around just taking.

Had my coworker order me a coffee this morning on her way in and when getting my coffee it was about 1/3 or more empty. No reason for that much whipped cream so my question is where is the coffee?? She also ordered her own coffee so its nit like she could have drank it in a 2 minute drive.

This was my first time visiting the store and I have seen it as I drove by but have never purchased anything here. To my surprise on my app it said they were out of a bunch of things, yet when I got to the store they were fully stocked! Lol I ordered a couple of drinks online but needed to placed my food orders in person. I asked the lady barista behind the counter and she was able to let me know what they did have from my mobile order. I also wanted to make sure I was at the right location since there's another Starbucks a block or so away! Both register and handoff barista's were incredibly polite and understanding of the situation between my mobile app and ordering more things in person. I also really liked their Starbucks world map with all the regions of coffee! Our drinks tasted delicious and refreshing and all the food was incredibly fresh!!

Very upset. I was in the bathroom for 5 minutes and I had a worker come bang on the door and threaten me THREE TIMES. she was saying you can't have two people in the room at a time and went so far to threaten me to have someone break in. absolutely unacceptable. I understand misunderstandings happen but I communicated very clearly that I was the only one in there (for less than 5 minutes let me remind you) and i've never dealt with customer service this terrible. I will not be returning to this starbucks and I truly wish I got her name because she should be fired. very disappointed.

I ordered an iced green tea and I received a different drink. I questioned it because it didn't look like any other iced green tea I have ever purchased at Starbucks. Apparently I was charged for and received a macha latte, which is more than my actual drink order. They made me a new drink, and I got my new drink and sat down. Five minutes later a manager approached me and asked me to leave because she said her employees didn't feel safe with me there, and said I cursed at them. I did not curse at anyone. I was not happy about having to stand in line to get money back, but I kept that to myself. I did say that this was a bad customer experience but that's not cursing, that is a rock solid fact. I left because staying at Starbucks is not a hill I'm willing to die on. I would avoid this Starbucks. Ugh.

I NEVER thought I would need to bring my own TP for the restrooms, nor that the staff seemed unconcerned about the lack of paper in the bathrooms. The drink was adequate, although the girl making the drinks needs to work on her people skills. Having to search through EVERY drink on the counter for the cup with my name on it, while she stood watching was awkward! Small improvements would definitely garner a tip from more customers!

This is my go-to Starbucks for all studying or productivity. Super friendly service! You can ask for a "for here" mug or plate. (They don't have for-here Venti sizes, but if you want you can ask them to put it two smaller cups.) They have a few outdoor tables that you can enjoy with your dog if you bring them with you. It's in a great location next to the mall and some places to have a quick meal. It's not super big but they have tables both inside and out of different sizes to study or catch up with an old friend. They have a couple bigger comfy arm chairs as well. I plug into my own stuff but they always have good music playing. They have a big parking lot right outside and it's close to the freeway for easy on and off. No drive through.

This is 41st & Clares St, Capitola location, hidden in the back by Chipotle and TOGO'S. This one is much better location than the one in the mall looking out to 41st Ave parking lot (that one is near the Capitola Mall entrance/ exit). If you want your drink done remotely close to order, skip the mall location and drive/ come here, just off the Clares St. Even though there was a bit of a wait on a Saturday afternoon, I felt like they knew what they were doing and my drinks were correctly prepared. One star off for not providing /asking if I needed a carton cup holder, which I did want but did not get. I had a mobile order of two similar drinks, one decaf, whole milk, extra wet, long shot and another regular decaf, whole milk. Not sure if that actually saved me some time, and how much exactly if any. Both drinks were done right. This store received Bravo! recognition on May 3, 2016 for initiative, resourcefulness and action in service, (store 667) being #1 in Area 51 and #32 in the country for highest growth in Starbucks Rewards. For whatever it's worth, I haven't seen these types of recognition displayed at any other Starbuckses. Granted, these come from the higher management of the same chain, but still.

A special treat place for me and the kiddos!  Me for anything with strong caffeine and a decaf frap and cake pop for the littles the staff here is SUPER friendly and helpful.  The bathroom is clean and I've enjoyed time alone for meetings working from this location as well.  I'll be back!

Dissapointed. Christmas coffee display and huge sign saying 30 percent off. Oh sorry we didn't do our job and clean that up. We can't give you that discount. I can't believe it. Never been treated that way for a business mistake. In any business. I will not be buying my Xmas gifts from this Starbucks again.

I love mobile order, it's the main reason why I've been going to Starbucks in general more often. However today when I placed an order for my husband, nothing was ready at the pick up time. Also they dropped the ball on the grill cheese sandwich. They didn't even know it was ordered. My husband asked them about his sandwich and that's when they went to look at the order and realized they missed it. My husband was in a hurry to get down to Watsonville, so this was not cool. What's the point of doing a mobile order here when your orders just gets over looked. What's going on with you Starbucks.

They are ridiculously friendly here. I love how the person taking orders/cashier always had something nice and friendly to say to each and every person. Super hungry from accidentaly throwing away my breakfast instead of the trash which was in my other hand (doh!), the only thing I craved was a bagel. At 11:00, there was only one bagel left which had everything on it: poppy seeds, cheese, sesame seeds, etc. So I ordered that toasted with light cream cheese. I also ordered my usual: Venti Black Ice Tea Lemonade 2 pumps, light ice. For some reason it was made a little bit darker than I usually get it and this other lady's order behind me was the same thing except with 4 pumps instead of 2 but her drink looked lighter and the perfect color. After sipping on mine, I couldn't quite put my finger on what tasted so weird so I asked the barista to empty some out and put more tea in it. MISTAKE. It just tasted even more watered down. After not being able to "suck it up," I asked the cashier for a refund just because something was off and I wasn't feeling like giving it another shot. She was very nice about it and offered to make it again for me but I declined. I felt SUPER bad. 3 stars for great friendly service but an awkward tasting drink. This place is BUSY, I'd probably just go to the starbucks attached to the mall (only a block away).

Was on the Santa Cruz boardwalk and was hankering for some Starbucks. Sadly, there were none around. Pulled up a search of locations nearby and the one at Capitola Mall had the best reviews in the vicinity so I went there. Pretty typical suburban Starbucks experience. Location is not all that big, but okay. This seems more like a place to take your drink to go. I was kind of feeling achy after getting off a plane at SFO a few hours before so I got a chai tea. It took a bit of time to get my drink and I was kind of disappointed with the drink itself. The taste was a little off, but still it was fairly refreshing. Summing up the experience I would say this place was average, but again it is a typical Starbucks cafe.

This Starbucks is on the corner of Clares St. and 40th Avenue. But it is in the Mall property. So, it is listed incorrectly on any map. Even the map at the Starbucks web site. Wi-Fi is available. The outdoor chairs are not that popular because of the traffic. Mornings are the busy time. The crew here are terrific in making the usual goodies and you will find a lot of regulars. I find this place a nice break at the end of the day. You will too. This Starbucks is on the CORNER of Clares St. and 40th Avenue.. There is another Starbucks on Mall Property on the main building. Be sure to specify which one if you are planning to meet someone.

The customer service at this location was terrible because of one male employee working today 11/28/2022 at 10:40 am. I walked in and I was greeted and I started my order and he was paying attention to everyone else except me so I had to keep repeating my order 3+ times. I asked him if he's listening so I don't have to keep repeating my self and he answered yes but then kept huffing and puffing and making big sighs because I guess I ordered too much? A peppermint mocha iced, venti chestnut praline latte, a cheese danish, oatmeal, a croissant, and a breakfast sandwich, bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. I love Starbucks and so do my children but now that this incident happened I feel like I don't want to be treated so terribly just for coming and spending my money to only be ignored and give eye rolls and hugging and puffing because I'm an inconvenience, that I might not ever go to Starbucks again

Barista not paying attention took my order wrong. Manager calls me over to lecture me that my tone upset her employee. Manager never asked me why I was upset. She assumed I was in the wrong. Better Customer Service training needed at this location starting with Manager.

I always come here to get a pick me up before going to the wharf to fish. They have great service here and make my coffee just the way I like it every single time. My girl and I came here one time and saw an elderly lady with a cane leaning on the back counter. Some Asian lady walked up to her expecting her to move so she could put some creamer in her coffee cup. The elderly lady started to move and fell on the floor! The Asian woman did not even try to help her up. She just looked at her on the floor and continued putting creamer in her coffee. Rude ass woman! I went over to the elderly lady to see if she was ok cuz she looked like she fell pretty hard. Luckily some gentleman came and helped her up cuz I don't think my skinny ass would have been able to help her up by myself. The workers saw what happened and asked if she was ok but did not even go around the counter to help her up. I'm glad that there are still some kind hearted people in the world. Those kind of people, like that gentleman, are hard to come by nowadays. Most people would just do what that Asian lady did or even worse they would have pulled out their cell phones and recorded the whole thing without even helping! Next time that Asian lady gets coffee I hope she spills it on herself!!!

If the $ I spent here in the years 2009 through 2011 would have purchased shares of Apple Stock when it went public, I'd be living like a queen! In fact my whole family would be living like royalty! Now that I am off the crack, I mean the white mocha, and only go here once a week or so to order a grande coffee my life feels, well it feels balanced. Yes I went a little crazy and had some good times. I didn't even have to go to rehab. I love THIS Sbux for the staff and consistent beverages, whether is it the crack, an iced Ameicana, or the cup o Joe.

The Wi-Fi is horrible here. Starbucks is a big corporation and has enough money to afford decent Wi-Fi!!! Every time I have been to this location I have had it turn on and off. Today I had it off 99% of the time so gave up and played games and texted a friend. Only reason I went here was it is Thanksgiving and my local shop is closed. The bathroom is always disgusting. And it was surprisingly not busy today on Thanksgiving. So no excuse! the trash was overflowing. there were seat covers on the floor. It smelled bad. I do not come her often. So it must be this way often or always being it's always this way when I have come =( The employees are nice though. And helpful if you have questions. and they have 50 cent refills on some things. I hate the iced coffee thought. It tastes like copper and is weak. I always get iced coffee at other coffee shops. So I cannot get it at any starbucks. Sitting outside is horrible ambiance lol unless you enjoy watching cars not stop at the stop signs and want to worry about accidents? Or enjoy burger king flame broil smell? One time I got the adventure of watching the bored Capitola cops sneaking out of who knows where and pulling people over one by one who were not fully stopping. I had mixed feelings about this. Being the Capitola cops dont help you when you need their help. Yet pull you over if you are playing Marvin Gaye too loudly in their opinion smh. true story.

Indoor seats are close to power outlets. Free Starbucks/AT&T Wifi. Has separate M/F bathrooms on location. Atmosphere is friendly and spacious. Overall it's a good, as far as Starbucks' go. -1 star for the occasional extended period of time it takes to get an iced coffee, but it's always made right to order. All the baristas are chill. On a side note, all the "blah-blah-blah Starbucks is evil" nonsense ticks me off. I like having the free wifi, straight coffee/tea refills, and hardworking baristas that choose to work at a cafe that offers positions during the holidays.

These guys are really great, i just came in for a sandwich and pastry and i was having a pretty bad day, i wasnt very kind to them but despite that they smiles and told me to have a good day and i really appreciated that. I come here all the time and its always a really pleasent experience.

this I rate this a 1 star because when I ordered they took like 40 min just to make 3 drinks and in one of the drinks I ordered tasted like pure water when it was supposed to taste like a mango dragon fruit refresure. I'm never coming here again due to this horrible service.

This Starbucks gets a 5 star most definitely. ALL the employee's are always so cheerful & pleasant, night and day. However, there is this one gentleman, I don't know his name, but he is the only "Australian" guy that works here, he is most awesome. I work in the Medical field so he remembers me whenever I come in dressed in my scrubs, but, he also remembers my face even when I'm dressed in civilian attire. This gentleman always remembers my drink, I don't even have to say it, he just know's. It's funny how people are in life especially the one's that try to exploit the "Corporate" genre, especially Starbucks being that as it may but, at least they don't treat people with disrespect like "Coffeetopia" or some of those other little hole in the wall coffee shops. I am originally from SC and yes I will agree to some degree with the "Corporate" BS politics however, at least Starbucks has tact, which is not much I can say about Coffeetopia or those other little hole in the wall Coffee shops in SC. Starbucks is "Corporate" for a reason. Starbucks does indeed have many starbucks planted within and around the world, for a reason. Well that's because they show tact, professionalism, respect behind their product. I will continue to be a loyal patron to starbucks always, & forever. Thank-You Starbucks for the pleasant experience I always gain within your establishment(s).

this is probably one of the worst starbucks i've ever been too. the baristas are rude and the service is slow. my friend ordered an iced drink and instead got a hot one. so, she politely let the barista know that she had ordered an iced drink and his whole demeanor changed. we waited for a good 30-45 mins for her iced drink to be made.

I went in for a refill like I always do every night and they told me no I had to be in the store. I have been getting my refill there every night for over a year and this is the first time I was told no. I'm a gold member with Starbucks thought it was pretty rude. When I could just go to the mall or down the street at they don't turn me away

I love this location across the street from my work. The girl with the BRF maybe you should smile more and not have a pissy look on your face. I dread having to go their when she is working. I am not the only one who finds her this way. Here is a tip get a personality.

My gf and I always make a stop here before we go to Capitola Wharf. We order the same thing every time, "tall white mocha with an extra shot". And depending on the weather we either get it hot or cold. The baristas here are always nice to us and treat us as if we are regulars here. Mind you we've only been here a handful of times and they already know what we're going to order. Guess we keep coming back to this specific Starbucks anytime we're in the Capitola area because of their great service and because they always make our drinks perfect. This Starbucks isn't like the others where you order the same drink you ordered the day before and for some reason it taste a little different. Great customer service!!! Yayyy!
