Good place to grab a coffee and work. They have huge space to sit and sip. You can easily grab a coffee and walk thru the streets of NYC also.

Love this particular Starbucks! One of the biggest and most spacious. Fast WiFi, Great background music, staff super friendly & helpful. Great location; window seats are awesome and bar stools overlooking Astor Place are just wonderful. It's a relaxed easy to find a seat place ...direct Subway access (Astor Place / Lafayette Street [Green Line])

Look, I come to this Starbucks almost every day before work. It is very good with great service and I would like to keep going. BUT HOW CAN YOU SELL THIS AS A SANDWICH AND ASK NORMAL WORKING PEOPLE TO PAY SEVEN DOLLARS FOR IT? (This is a complaint to the entity of Starbucks, not this individual store)

This is one cool Starbucks. As expected the drinks are great and the food is decent. Now that dining is back one can get great view of Astor Place & Lafayette Avenue. The staff was friendly and the service was efficient. The Astor Place subway station is right underneath this location.

Very clean they checked vaccination make you wear a mask there's no no ruckus outside the stairwell outside the Starbucks and near the stairwell customer service is excellent products excellent very very great store very very great service probably one of the Starbucks one of the best ones I've been to

Came to this Starbucks location early early on a Sunday morning. Had to get the pumpkin spice latte .. no judgment. The baristas were friendly & lots of seating in case you ever want to hang out here. Oh, and the latte was delicious.

I ordered an iced pumpkin spice latte with cold foam, and they gave me an iced latte. It’s not even a little bit orange, or sweet. I payed 9.50 for it and they didn’t even give me the actual drink I ordered. I didn’t notice until I got home to drink it, and it’s too far to go back and ask for a new one but goodness was I dissapointed.

This particular Starbucks is great for people watching. Situated at the entrance to the 6 Subway it's super busy. They used to be open 24 hours, but I don't think that's the case any more. The lines to the bathroom were always huge. I painted a portrait of outside near this place in my series of 'Disappearing New York', which you can see on my website, kovalfineart dot com.

This Starbucks is an "anchor" in this neighborhood. It's a beacon. It's been here for a looooong time. I've been here a few times, but today was the first time since the "app" has become a thing. I walked in, just as 3 other people were arriving, and slid in the line...just in front of me. Whipped out the trusty app, and said...I doubt if this will work...but ordered on the app, while I was in line. Took one of the few seats remaining and waited. The app said... roughly 10 mins... but to my surprise...when I checked in about 3...my order was there waiting for me. I love that! I tipped on the app for that. (which I've been doing anyway since Covid) But they nailed it on one of my favorite things..."efficient use of technology". That's just cool, and that's NYC. I hope I'm around when I can arrive in a driverless car!

I Did a mobile order. I waited for the girl to give me my order and she never turned around. So I went to get my order and another employee saw me and yelled at me saying "you can't be in the corner, what's your name". After given my order, the girl that didn't acknowledged me turned around and said "next time, you need to be patient" with a smile. NO! I paid for my order. I did wait. YOU CAN PAUSE CLEANING A COUNTER TO ASSIST A CUSTOMER. I'm over this location.

Standard Starbucks. The plenty of seating inside. Good place to take a break or grab coffee near Washington Square.

Starbucks at Astor Place isn't a favorite of mine. I reminisce about the times I come here and it's crazy busy with confused employees. I worked nearby for a time and this place had the best coffee. For some reason I still find the space uncomfortable. It's pretty to look out from the inside and it's sitting on a great piece of property facing Cooper Square. If you enjoy Starbucks it's here to serve your needs. As for me I take mine out and sit outside in the nearby public space across from the Astor Place Subway Station.

NEVER AGAIN. The staff is extremely slow with bad attitude problems, specifically the short blonde-haired Asian girl with piercings. She acted as if she didn't want to be there and when she saw me she frowned. I was so taken back & didn't understand because I patiently waited without complaining about the long wait. I told her she should smile & had an attitude problem after she rudely handed me my drink & cut her eyes at me. She just said "OK!" nonchalantly & walked away. What a hot mess of a person and unprofessional. If you don't like your job, don't apply & risk the reputation of a brand. I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS LOCATION! This location needs new staff to replace the non-committed and wasteful staff. There's a bunch of complaints here, I wish I read the reviews before I came here! *UPDATE* I called the store & she picked up the phone, claiming she is the manager (which makes it even worse) and I told her that she was extremely rude. I filed a complaint with corporate because this was shocking. The main reason I come to Starbucks is the customer service besides the delicious drinks. Learn to be positive & humble yourself young lady. Treat people how you want to be treated. Don't let one spoil the bunch.

My order was fine & the length of time to get my order was reasonable. I know it's not mandatory, but I just wish people in the food industry wore mask still.

I love this location. It has been a staple in this neighborhood for a very long time. I work in this neighborhood and I frequent this Starbucks at least 4x a week. The service is fast and great. The staff is friendly and they actively listen. I highly recommend visiting this Starbucks.

In typical east village Starbucks fashion, they completely removed the seats and replaced everything with stools. This is clearly an anti-homeless tactic but it is also inaccessible and generally anti-customer. They want people to come in and spend $15 on a drink and a pastry and then make the seats so uncomfortable that they leave as soon as possible. The stools don't even match the height of the tables. This and stores with absolutely no seating are the new norm for east village Starbucks and it is so disappointing. Just say you hate your customers and be done. Will not be coming here.

I was standing at the counter for 10 minutes waiting to order. The lady was screaming, "Starbucks is made for you to use the app" while she ignored me as well as the crowded room. This isn't the first time this has happened at this Starbucks because they take so long they make me late for wherever I'm going. They are impolite and their hospitality sucks. Keep in mind a said "Excuse me" so many times loudly.

Such a beautiful Starbucks location. Plenty of places to sit, warm ambience, lovely addition to Astor place. The friendliest workers ever! And very clean bathrooms

Place is at a good location and it is spacious with lost is seating. But I got a negative experience with a snarky worker at the register and possibly racist? Prejudiced? Or Low self esteem and so she reacts judgmental to some? Immature? Looked unhappy and was unhelpful. I approached the register and she rolled her eyes. she came out with my food order and barely said my name as if, she didn't want me to hear it or want me to know my food was ready so that I can pick it up. I was close enough to hear it and notice her, but you can tell she didn't want me to hear. She also looked at me directly. So she knew I was the one she needed to provide the food to. She could have at least motioned me over, if she felt no need say my name. It was more so of an action of, -oh whoops but I said your name. Let me just act like I did leave order here and you can continue waiting, though.- Also, I ordered a caramel latte but coffee had no flavor. It tasted like regular dark (dark) roasted coffee with foam and Some almond milk. The coffee tasted burnt.

This is the WORST starbucks ever! They're not even nice and drinks take 20+ minutes to come out! I was suppose to be 30 minutes early for work but this starbucks WITH my mobile order made me on time smh

I am going to say this, some employees have the worst professional attitude ever. Not only did they talk too much while making drinks but I asked for a hot chocolate with almond milk with no dairy and someone dude makes my drink and add milk to my order. I took the first three sips and notice the difference in taste. I have an allergy and had a moment for 3 days and when to the ER room. It's been documented on Youtube. Not only that, my name isn't Kendall when I'd said my name is Panda. Point is that I only trust one person from this place and young guys with earrings and a nice dress code style. He knows not to screw up my order because I'd did come back after a few days of being under the weather from the experience. Other than that, homeless people listen. Stop being rude and be kind, we are all in the same fight here and there is no need to pick on the staff at the location and cause people we are on guard. I'm a travel license photographer and just got my official NYC PRESS credentials. When present at the location, I'd feel unease at times then again I am not a coward. More unease for my gear or property. I had to let two guys here know that I will handle my business and as a black belt, I'm going to reflect pain. So, people, this location is a little hostel.

I found this to be the biggest Starbucks I eva been too. It reminded me of the Barnes and Noble cafe in Union Square. I felt like I was in a book store. It was also brought to my attention, (because he made himself known to me,) that they had a security guard there. I have been to alot of Starbucks and never ever had I saw a security guard. Nothing surprises me in the N.Y.C. anymore. The service was good. The baristas were kind to help me figure out the way to use this new starbucks rewards program, it's really annoying how they changed things, they should just go back to the old version. Anyway nice to know that the bathroom wasn't a mess, and the sink was located outside of the bathroom with such a faucet. It had three buttons the security guard showed me, running water, dryer, and I really dont know what the other was for, but it was cool either way. I had no problem finding seating, I mean they had chairs, tables with chairs, window seats, etc. I would have like for all Starbucks to be so cool like this location, but that is just wishful thinking and it is what it is. Still gonna love my Starbucks, and will not mind visiting this one again if Im in the area.

Astor Place Bux Perhaps one of the most architecturally lovely Buxes in the whole City, the Astor Place Bux really wears the name Astor well. It is large enough that I would consider "good for groups," boasts TWO Florida rooms, of sorts, for more privacy to talk or work, and even has an elevated platform stage area for performances and open mics. While it is a good Bux to work from "home" at, it's size lends itself to crowding, especially for the restrooms, which is annoying. If you do work here and want a refill, they sometimes give you the third degree. But there are many more pros than cons here. Conveniently located next to KMart, if you need a coffee before making KMart purchases. If you need another reason to go to this Bux, it was featured in the first Sex and the City movie where Carrie interviews multiple assistants but ultimately hires Jennifer Hudson.

Ordered a solo espresso macchiato. I got a cup with cold espresso and milk. And sugar. I did not ask for sugar. Not a lick of foam. And when I say cold, I don't mean it sat out a little too long- it felt refrigerator cold. If you're looking for a Frappuccino or a sugar caramel candy drink with a splash of coffee I'm sure they will not disappoint. But if you need a little afternoon pick me up and want a shot of espresso with a tiny bit of milk and a nice head of foam, go somewhere else (like the Starbucks on 88th and Broadway. Their baristas know what they're doing).

This is absolutely the worst star . Staff working super slow and keep chatting instead of working. . I hope the manager see this review and fire them .

The location and building itself is cool, but the service was absolutely terrible. Cashier got my drink wrong even though I explained it multiple times (it was just a vanilla latte, not something insane), overcharged me, and the other baristas were passive aggressive. Next time I am just going to walk to a different Starbucks or get coffee somewhere else.

Holy spacious Starbucks! This place is huuuuggggeeeee!! We came with my parents before seeing Blue Man Group (you are never too old to see it!) and had a pleasant time. There is a nice seating area to the left with glass walls and ceiling and plenty of space! Plus, the baristas were relatively friendly and not too rushed since we were there on a Sunday without the normal weekday crowds.

I've been to this location countless times for convenience purposes. It's huge and gets the job done. Normally wouldn't have left a review because, it's just a Starbucks lol ! Only leaving this on account of my experience with one of the baristas. One barista was helping a customer before me in line, two other staff members were standing at another register talking. I wasn't sure if they were ready to take me (they could've been training, etc) so I waited. Man with glasses, curly hair, and a news boy cap calls me with a slightly rude "Helloooo!" Which I let go? I grabbed a chai latte with a Gouda, bacon, egg sandwich. He asked me immediately after ordering the chai latte if I wanted almond milk. Which is... kind of weird? Wouldn't you just ask if they wanted an alternative milk? No biggie. After that he literally said "Listen to me! Your sandwich will be at the end and your drink in the middle of the counter" I have no idea why he felt the need to tell me to listen up lol. I get it, customers get confused and it's annoying, but... yikes. Just a note, this staff member needs to be retrained.

It's nice in here. Lots of space to sit. Cozy. There's even space in the outside to sit covered from the weather. Not too busy. Right by the subway. Has security at the doors.

I always end up at this Starbucks. It's convenient to quite a bit, including NYU and a Metro stop, and friends always know how to get here. There's always a crowd waiting for the bathroom, and tons of students. It's not the cleanest, but service is spiffy, there's a ton of seating, and the coffee is typical Starbucks. Assuming you think that's a good thing.

This place is big...so that's going to mean most likely at lot of table hoggers with laptops leaching off the starbucks wifi. Place is dirty most of the time. Tables and chairs sticky. Bathroom here is nasty and the line is usually long...don't use it unless you want to sniff some gas left behind by the other user. This place get busy, and when it does...the baristas sometimes skip steps when it comes to washing their hands...sneezing on their hands and not washing right after..then make some sweet coffee for you. Drinkers beware.

The worst Starbucks. I don't know why I keep coming back but I consistently wait 25 to 30 minutes for my order. And this is if I order online or at the counter. I get they are a busy location but 30 minutes for a simple drink is ridiculous.

I know, I know. A yelp review or Starbucks. What could you possibly say? They're all the same, if you like Starbucks coffee you should pretty much like them all. Depending on what city, what part of the country, there are little quirks. Down south, you'll have to say no sugar in your tea A LOT. Up north, you might get some real assholes or some real charmers. It's a mixed bag but worth it for a coffee that never changes whether you're in NYC, South Dakota or LA. So yeah, a yelp review or a Starbucks seems like the most arbitrary thing ever. But, the Starbucks at Astor Square is real cute - there are windows all along the side that are amazing for sitting, drinking and people watching. I highly recommend it for a chill NY experience at a chain. Morale of this review - if you love Starbucks and people watching go have a seat in Astor Square.

I'm about to say something freakin' crazy: This was my first time getting a drink at Starbucks. :-O I've nabbed some sips over the years from those big cardboard boxes of coffee that folks bring into work. It's awful - burned charcoal French roast. I've never understood the craze - this is the worst black coffee on earth! The trick, apparently, is letting Starbucks do whatever it is they need to do to it. Frap it up, caramel swirl / peppermint chip / PSL it up, just cover that crap with a thick layer of sugar and spices and make people love it. I let them foam mine up with some almond milk (probably 2/3 almond milk), no sweetener. It was tasty. I thought "Damn, I'd drink this again - not for $4, but I'll start putting fluffy almond milk into my better coffee at home." That's progress, Starbucks. We're getting somewhere. Next time I'm rollin' with coworkers and am peer pressured into this whole situation, I'll cringe just a little bit less. See you next time!

Tons of seating, security guard, and courteous staff. One of the largest Starbucks in the city.

This is a pretty grand Starbucks. What do you want from a Starbucks? good coffee and food. This location has it with bags of coffee beans. It didn't have serve-ware accessories like others. It has a free sign in with email wifi that is usable and decent enough seating but seeing that it is located in a busy hub one would be lucky to get one, especially one of the dozen by the indoor dome of a patio by the subway entrance/exit with a view of the square/triangle hub outside. The prices for the bags of coffee beans is on display but there is no menu for the drinks, unless I'm missing something, I didn't see it like I do at most other Starbucks? There was no menu listing their Fraps, Lattes, Cappuccinos, just an ad for their Blondes. I used the restroom which was dirty from the frequent foot traffic which surprisingly had a short line. Ordered a Venti Italian brew, sat for a few minutes and was out of there. The only reason for reviewing this Starbucks is because of its location. For being a spacious Starbucks in a busy hub I think it serves it purpose but lacks there of certain things.

Starbucks is Starbucks no matter what, u fortunately not what it's used to be 15 years ago. This location is definitely different than the others what sets it apart are the people who work here and the fact that there is so much space. It's fun to lounge around here and relax while sipping on a drink. The restrooms are pretty clean as well. The only sucky part is the exuberant cost of a cup of coffee.

Gets the job done This Starbucks gives you exactly what you want and need. Want some coffee? They have plenty. Thirsty from a day of city exploration and travel? Ask for free water! Need to use the bathroom from drinking said water and freshen up? The ceo of Starbucks has still implemented the public usage of bathrooms so visit it if you need to? Now, most importantly! Need to charge your phone from city exploration? Plenty of outlets here to use. I have frequented this Starbucks in many a occasion and it has never let me down. Cleanliness- very Busy- very Service- friendly Love it or dump it Gives you what you want! I recommend and will return!

Truly disappointed! This was my second visit after their re-opening. While the first was good - although it wasn't anything memorable - this second visit will probably be my last visit to this location. I went specifically to get a holiday themed card. Ordered strawberry acai and asked them to load $15 on my new card. I don't know what the hell was wrong, but they charged me 4 times. They were clearly having a trouble loading the card but never bothered to let me know what was going on. I was confused and felt bad because the line was getting longer. But all they did was asking me to insert my card each time. That was all they seemed to care. In the mean time, one of the staff took my name and confirmed my order. Another staff even asked if I wanted lemonade in my drink. I obviously assumed that they were preparing my drink while all this was going on. Somehow they managed to load the card, and I headed over to the pick up area. I waited about 10 minutes but never heard my name. Then I realized that people who came in after I did were already leaving with their drinks! I thought that was weird, but decided to be patient. Waited another couple minutes and finally asked one of baristas if my order had even gone through. Apparently they forgot about it. Well actually it's more like I assumed they forgot about it because again, they didn't care to explain what was going on. I came in at 4:20 ish and left at 4:55. None of the staff was apologetic. at. all. I'm not visiting this location again.

This is a great place to people watch! Because of the great layout of this location (great big windows up front, with counter seating there- you can peer out and watch people glide by), its always nice to grab a drink, hunker down with your laptop and just shmooze. The line for the bathroom is crazy sometimes though!

This is a beautiful Starbucks with ample room, it's kept very clean, it's in the perfect location but I've never been to a Starbs in NY with consistently rude employees who don't want to be there or help you. From straight up being ignored waiting for a mobile order by a barista standing right there coloring on stickers to being yelled at by one for grabbing my drink, to not being greeted, stared and frowned at, I hope these people are OK because their customer service skills certainly aren't. My advice: get in, get out, and have tough skin... or just walk 3 blocks any other direction.

The starbucks itself is pretty nice, they have a huge amount of seating in this weird greenhouse type exterior. The chairs and tables themselves are prime real estate on a weekend. And if you sit in the greenhouse area during a warm day, you might as well be a soft squishy cookie baking in the oven. We couldn't find a table at around 1pm on a Saturday to sit, they were all completely overtaken. However, the greenhouse area needs upgrading. The chairs, tables are floor/walls are really old and gunky.

I rarely come to this starbucks but I've made the right choice tonight. The workers here are great! So friendly and pretty funny. Due to cravings, I came here for the caramel macchiato. The gentleman making my drink was playing along with my craziness. Conversing and joking with other customers as well. A very cool guy, he makes me happy after a long day of work. Very entertaining~ I accidently knocked my drink on the floor when trying to pick it up and he offered making me a new one. That was 100% my fault but he was being so sweet. I didn't take the offer but I am feeling absolutely fantastic. Thank you sir that I didn't get the name of for making my day so pleasant.

I usually get an iced latte, and I can say their quality here is consistent despite how busy it is all the time. This location is a good meeting spot for people getting together within a group. Although this place is large with many seats, it can be pretty hard to find a seat, which is one drawback. If you're just grabbing something on the go, though, it's completely fine.

This Starbuck's is very clean. I came here on different hours, always clean. Please note, if there are 3 or more people in line then keep in mind waiting time can be longer than expected. Why? Ask the manger. Their order takers are fast and efficient, but not the same can be said with their baristas making and serving. Orders are totally disorganized and served out of random order and not sequentially per orders. There's nothing more annoying than waiting more than 10 minutes for your drink and the customer is called after only waiting less than 5 minutes. I think that a Starbucks in New York City should do better with timing. OK overall.

This is probably the one of the cooler Starbucks in the city. Mainly because layout of the place makes for prime people watching. There's always characters at this location, so expect a few good laughs. Other than that, it's just your ordinary Starbucks. I must say, it's always impossible to find seating here. It's a pretty huge location with a ton of tables, but since it's located right next to the subway exit, it's going to be always packed. It's annoying because most people here are camped out for hours. Great place to do work tho, that is, if you find a spot to sit. I always find it funny when i see people standing outside stealing the starbucks wifi. I mean, hey, why not. It's not like some starbucks employee is going to run out and shoo you away. This place being a Starbucks is nothing special, but the location is what makes it awesome. It's cozy, has a lot of seating, and just a classic cafe set up.

They're pretty quick and efficient at this location. I saw them knock down a lengthy line in less than 5 minutes. I like!

Huge Starbucks with some great people watching here! As far as a Starbucks goes this is one of the biggest with plenty of seating. Very airy and open. Plenty of wifi hogs, usually students, planted at the tables for hours. Yet, not that many outlets from what I have viewed. Great location off the St Marks area as it's easy to stumble in after doing some bar hopping to hit the bathroom before jumping on the nearby Aster Place #6 train stop. The N,R, Q is close too. That, or to get a coffee to try and sober up a bit. During the day it is usually pretty busy but at night its crazy! Expect long lines, especially for the one single bathroom. Also, not the cleanest, but hey, just do the hover! Baristas are pretty quick here in keeping the drink line moving though.

- Personally, I don't support Starbucks, I prefer to get my coffee/tea elsewhere, however I will say that this location is one of the best places to people watch *especially in the heat of summer or chill of winter - ridiculous that you can see one Starbucks from another - free wi-fi - only passable food and beverages for the price you're paying

I come here pretty often to get my morning coffee right before work. The staffs here are normally very nice and fast. However I would highly suggest it mobile order your drinks in advance, since sometimes it takes about 15-20 minutes for it to come out due to the large amount of costumers they had.

You gotta give it up to them though, Starbucks is some tenacious bitches! If you can't find a seat here, try the one across the street on 3rd lol.

Two Stars for Starbucks? Yes. Their location? amazing The history this place has? Lengthy The fact that they didnt have my peach green tea LEMONADE? Deplorable I had to settle for just iced peach green tea? Ok. But then when the bathrooms are closed after I drink all of my drink & We have to go to Kmart to use the bathroom and change the serenity of my evening? Beyond ANNOYING!

My thoughts on Starbucks has changed of late since I realized I could use the 2 hours of free wifi that they're offering if you register your Starbucks Card. Pretty easy. My friend also forced tons of Starbucks gift cards on me. I like this particular location because it is huge, near me, and great for people watching. They're also open late, until 1am, and despite looking crowded, we found plenty of space on a weekday evening. The line wasn't too bad either. And for those who care, this is the world's second busiest Starbucks and was featured in the first Sex and the City movie.

This seem to be the go to spot for bathrooms. Well at least for me and everyone else on this bathroom line. It's always long..well what do you expect from a hot spot such as St. Marks. I can't imagine how many times the workers have to deal with the bathroom. Besides the bathroom 411, you'll see a lot of NYU students here studying. It's not going to be easy to find a seat.

I usually pop in here when I'm waiting for a friend to show up so we can prowl the neighborhood bars and izakayas. It's right by the Astor place train station, so it's busy most of the time. The line is usually wicked long in here, but it moves pretty quickly. Like your typical Starbucks they usually have music playing but it's not blaring, so it's a good place to come and study or have a chat over a cuppa. The staff are friendly and competent, and on the rare occasion I didn't like how what I ordered came out the were never begrudging about replacing it. That being said, if you're a laptop user looking for an outlet, it's come early or luck out. The tables are usually rammed with NYU students, and when it's finals week you may as well avoid this place altogether if you're looking for a seat. The line for the restroom is FOREVER long, and not always the most sanitary. However, if you've gotta go, know it's one of the few places in the city where you can pop in to relieve yourself.

This Starbucks is always full and the tables and chairs are always taken and theirs always a line to use the bathroom although that is next to the subway station entrance and across from a department store, this location needs lots of improvements and make the place more cozy for people
