Winderful abd friendly baristas. However, this is the only Starbucks that I have been to where we have to yell in order to speak to the person next to you because the music is so loud. I asked if they could turn it down, they immediately took action and lower the music level. They really take care of the customers. It’s a great location with lots of outdoor seating, handful of indoor seating. Great for the mild weather.

Located right in the middle of a residential area and schools. Upscale interiors and mini meals can be ordered. There are couches to lounge on. Spacious and comfortable.

Great service. Supplies must be low tho because I didn't get one when I ordered my egg bites and the fork they gave me was from an open package. Coffee was mediocre at best. The vanilla bean scone was the only consistently good item.

Terrible experience at this Starbucks. I walk in to order coffee, and stand there for probably a couple of minutes. All the employees were busy doing stuff and completely ignored me. Not even a "we will be right with you" or an acknowledgment of me being there. I finally had to ask someone if I could order something. Some guy named Ethan was extremely rude. He threw my change on the counter. No wonder Starbucks overall sales are on the decline.

An otherwise typical Starbucks in terms of menu with a somewhat unique physical layout in that a narrow corridor connects the counter where you order to a small indoor seating space and a larger, outdoor covered patio. Service can vary depending on the patron to staff ratio on any given day. Parking can be a challenge given its location in the perennially busy Pacific Highlands Ranch shopping center, but that's also what makes it so convenient to get your drink on in the midst of running errands!

I have been coming to this store for 6 years. Take note of the following facts: A lot of the one star reviews are from years ago. Next, understand that this store is in an upscale neighborhood filled with spoiled high school brats who feel they are entitled to boss around and rush the employees because they are "late for class." Then, they go online and write a negative review because their drink wasn't handed to them instantly despite 30 others waiting for drinks. Overall this is a good store with hardworking young employees. Special shout out to Kim who always greets me by name and fully understands my brownie addiction. I will continue to visit for years to come.

This location is always busy. No matter when you come there is always a wait. That's our experience at least. We have come on weekends and non peak times but there is always a long line or a long wait for mobile orders. This Starbucks is located in the Pacific Highlands Shopping Center with Trader Joe's, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Luna Grill, among others. One time we came when the school let out, and traffic was the worse since some people park in the shopping center to pick up their kids at Cathedral. Nonetheless, pack your patience while you visit this location. The space is somewhat small both inside and outside and there's ample parking in the shopping center.

One of the best Starbucks locations in town! The staff here are always friendly and efficient, even during busy hours. My drink was made perfectly--just the right balance of flavor and temperature. The store is clean, has plenty of seating, and the ambiance is calm and inviting, making it a great place to work or relax. Highly recommend this location if you're in the area!

The new reno is a success if the idea is to move them in and out quick. It is clearly designed to get you in and out by literally making it not an inviting place to sit, relax, visit with a friend, or do some work. The very back end of this new layout, which used to be the main hang out area, is coldish now with cheap cafeteria like tables (2). It feels like an afterthought of space. I was there today and stood in line for 5 min to place an order with NO ONE coming to take our order. I followed another customer, and left with them. I am a tea drinker so I can walk to Panera, get a less expensive tea, with much better service, packages of sweetner available to me, than hassle with waiting in line at Starbucks to order. There is something wrong with a business model when a person(s) right in front of you has to wait, their drinks dont take a priority (they should because they are there) and get less service than someone on an app ordering. It has increasingly gotten worse with SB. Sometimes you want to order in person, and not use an app. Starbucks used to create a sense of community. More and more, they are drive-through and mobile order focus, and less of a place to vibe and hang to meet a friend for a quick chat. It feels cold. This new reno- model at this location seems to be designed so that the Mobile order is King. There are 2 chairs in the front half of the store. TWO. Lastly, Dear Starbucks (all locations), the pandemic is over. Can you please put your sugar options, coco sprinkles, and cinnamon shakers back out. It is so time-consuming to have to ask a busy barista for a pack of something. Is Starbucks being covid fearful, lazy, or too financial frugal by not returning this back for consumption? The end result is not consumer friendly. Yes, I could and do ask for one packet to be put in my drink. But, they often forget, put too much, too little, or use syrup when I dont want any syrup sweetner. Regardless...it has changed and not for the better, sadly. Not a fan. If you want a chill coffee house vibe try Birdrock coffee further down the way off the 56.

The after school crowd was managed well by the young woman at the cash register. This poor review is for the lack of acknowledgment to fulfill an order after ten minutes, by a "barista." As the youngest of the group of employees working, perhaps customer service experience was lacking.

New look since we were last here a few months back. Modern but preferred old look, and it was definitely much more spacious. The restroom is located in the middle of the place, which has two entrances... kind of an odd layout and just oddlike. I had to walk past it to get to the order counter. I was taking a pic when it came to my order... "New" girl said she didn't want me taking pic... that's strange. There's no such sign on the door. That's like me asking you not to record me in the establishment. OK. Odd again. Told her I was a yelper... she just says ok... anyway. Won't a make a molehill out of an anthill. It looked quite chaotic behind the counter ... music wasn't my type(and I like all kinds) - too jazzy-ish. Didn't hear my name called so I walked over and seen coffee was there.. so definitely too loud music or staff didn't say loud enough. Sat down, tasted coffee, I almost spit it out.. as it tasted like iced watery coffee. Again, back to "new" girl who said told me the ingredients are all in there... apparently not.. I know coffee, and I know if it's flavored coffee... it was not. I asked for more syrup instead of opting for her to " remake" my drink... which i NEVER let any place remake my order. Few pumps later, Apple cider macchiato..amazing delicious. Never thought Apple cider and coffee would be yummy So,after all this... definitely 2.5 stars

Bella and Gabe are the worst. This is the second time that they have talked about what I order, which is a simple tea. Here's a tip Gabe, if you're talking about a customer at least make sure you're whispering and not have your coworker and you both turn and look right at me after you talk about my order. I don't understand why you cared enough to make a comment?

Decent service at this location, but the drink accuracy can be hit or miss. The restrooms are often dirty or not stocked. There is plenty of seating (inside and outside) but because of how close it is to multiple schools and being located in a plaza of sorts, it can get pretty crowded and loud.

This is my neighborhood Starbucks!! It is a popular spot for locals who live nearby. Location/ambiance: In the heart of Carmel Valley and conveniently located at the Village at Pacific Highlands center. It is near other businesses that I visit often such as Trader Joe's, Serenity, and Rite Aid. There is also a Crunch gym walking distance from here. There are many restaurants nearby and it's a nice community. Parking can be hectic and challenging during morning rush hour. Many students hang out here and it's an easy grab n go spot for those on the way to work. I recommend coming off peak hours if you want to avoid the crowds and parking. The interior is nice, cozy, and clean. I always see people working on their laptops or conversating in groups. I like how they have two entrances. There are straws and napkins by the pick-up window on one end. I recommend having another section for those to avoid a large crowd of people at one section of the store. There is seating indoors and outdoors. Customer Service/ordering process: Customer service is a hit or miss. Sometimes they greet you, but most times they seem so busy and preoccupied with orders they really don't take the time to say anything to you. I do always say "thank you" regardless and that's when I usually get a response. I usually order through their mobile app so it's super convenient. You get to customize your order and it saves time. They usually always get my order right, but a few times they have forgotten my cinnamon dust topping. Not that big of a deal since it's free, but it can get annoying. Their Americano and pump of chai with oat milk and cinnamon powder is my go-to drink! I really enjoy the flavor combinations and it's decently priced for a venti cup. I have had their nitro cold brew but it's really not my cup of tea. I guess I prefer warm drinks in the morning. It's never a long wait when I order through the app so I highly recommend doing that. They have great offers and rewards which is also great if you're a regular ! Tipping is also available through the app. All in all, I don't have that many complaints and I am pretty happy with the quality of coffee I get. There are improvements that can be made just like any business. Hopefully, they can rectify those. I really enjoy coming here on my morning commute.

Quick service and decent drinks! This Starbucks location is located in the Village, with lots of restaurants and stores. This location is really convenient and the service is friendly. Drinks are well-made and this place is also not too bad for studying (can get loud at certain times). I don't have major issues here, as sometimes the drink is not filled all the way. Otherwise, great location to stop by for a yummy drink. This place is also right next to CCA which is convenient if you attend high school there. Mobile ordering also adds to the convenience factor which is nice. Lovely coffee spot! The hot breakfast and pastries are also nice as well.

Absolutely disgusting place. The coffee I ordered took forever to make and they had to remake it anyway. There was garbage piled up on the service counter and around it on the floor and also garbage on the pickup counter. The baristas were looking at this but were not bothered. When I brought it to their attention, one of the girls said "yeah, it's from the morning rush". Never mind it was past 1pm on Saturday.

I used to love Starbucks but they continue to make that impossible. Years of rapidly higher prices I tolerated but the quality has gone down both for the drinks and the pastries. Take one look at that factory croissant and you should leave. And why does no Starbucks have the blueberry muffin on mobile ordering but then have them in the store. Nationally Starbucks cites inflation on core products to be behind price increases but yet other coffee places I frequent are a few dollars less for a latte or flat white (such as Paris Baguette) and they do not even have the purchasing power of Starbucks.

Came in on a sunday to get a egg sandwich and refresher. It was packed to say the least and only two employees were working. "Sun" the employee making drinks was killing it! Just put his head down and went to work. Not much good to say about the speed of the other employee.

I've been coming here for 5 years now and I've always received excellent service! The workers are always kind even when they're busy. Today the sbux app charged me for my order but never actually placed it. I explained what happened and the worker made my order anyways even though it never went through-- so kind and made my day! Please note there are four schools within walking distance so from 7:30-8:30 they are extremely busy so orders may take longer than described on app but usually i get my order on time. Food and drinks always come out correctly and if not they will happily fix it.

I had the opportunity to try the Blond Espresso in the form of a cappuccino from this Starbucks. The Blonde Espresso certainly was on the lighter side, but it did offer some good flavors, but most of all, it was quite smooth and said, "see ya later bitterness." In addition to the quality of the espresso, the manner in which it was made was very good as well. The ratio to espresso and steamed milk was just right. Service at the counter was amiable and quite knowledgeable which I learned when making inquiries regarding the Blond Espresso.

starbucks has a "starbucks card" service, once you enter this "card" service, you will always leave some money in their "card" unless you call the customer service to get a refund. So the way it works is that, say you ordered $5.50 of food, and your starbucks card has $5, it will force you to reload a minimum of $10 to have enough fund to pay $5.50. After you pay this one, you will have $9.50 remaining in your card. It does not allow you to pay $5 from starbucks card, and rest of $0.50 from your regular credit card. neither does it allow you to load $0.50. The reload amount has to be their designated whole dollar amount, like $10, $20, $25 etc. It was designed so that you can never have a zero balance and never be able to use it up. It was quite a nasty design. I was quite annoyed by it and eventually learned that I can call customer service to refund the balance. I was tricked into this card thing. One time I ordered some food but they ran out of it, so they suggested to refund it to my starbucks account. I agreed, and later realized I was trapped in using their card forever.

It felt surreal to finally step into this brand new Starbucks earlier today. Sis and I have been anticipating this opening for awhile so it felt awesome to see their STARBUCKS NOW OPEN sign. I don't know the name of this shopping mall but it's the brand new one with the Trader Joe's being built close by. I think Starbucks is the only current functioning tenant in this strip mall. The interior was clean, modern, and best part - smelled brand new. I swear it smells like a new car when you buy one. You know that scent right - like the smell of new money or something. Ok I gotta stop geeking out about scents right now. There appeared to be plenty of tables and I did see maybe 2 outdoor tables as well. The baristas were friendly and helpful. I asked for their address and they said the 5980 Village Way won't appear on any maps as of the moment (maybe b/c their location is in an uncompleted shopping mall). So check out this Starbucks and if you're lucky make sure to get a sniff of the brand new-ness of this store :)

This is the worst Place to get your coffee - this location in particular! They NEVER get your mobile order right - like NEVER!!!! This is my neighborhood Starbucks so I was try to stay local but time and time again this place reminds me why I rather drive to a different location or different coffee shop over all . The manager doesn't have any knowledge of how the team is performing in regards to service and quality . These drinks are awful !!!! So much money for a cup of joe and to not ever get what we paid for is just unacceptable!!! I'm serious when I say don't visit this location it's horrible!!!!

This was the worst Starbucks experience I have ever had!! First we had to be patient due to the fact that there was a trainie at the register. I understand being patient with a trainie. However, after waiting in line 20 minutes with only two customers in front of me, the trainie did not understand that a vanilla latte and a latte are different. What I dont understand is why I was required to be patient yet another employee walked up and rang up two customers (he apparently knew) behind me. My confusion is why I am required to be patient yet two people behind me get waited on. The trainie had very little help and should not have been left at the register alone. It was as if he had never even had a Starbucks drink.

This place didn't have terrible drinks. I wasn't going to write a damn review but what the cashier/ barista did pissed me off. This is my second time coming in today and I don't know what kind of mistake I made to make the barista to treated me terribly. The first time I came in I bought a very berry hibiscus that I finished rather very quickly, and so because I knew I was going to stay for a while, I asked the same barista that pissed me off today for an iced water. He just gave me a long glance and before he gave me the water he tells me "you forgot the word please" wtf. I just shrugged it off. Coming in today I just wanted to get my work done and move on with my day, but this effing barista ruins my day. This is how the order went: I ordered a tall caramel macchiato, give him my name, and proceed to pay. But when he writes my name, he quickly goes to a machine. I don't know why he did that, and he definitely rushes my drink. When I get my drink, I sit down and realized he misspelled it. Now I know Starbucks is notorious for misspelling names, but he wrote very subtly "devil" on my cup instead of "David". Idk Starbucks, train your employees better.

No one greeted me when I walked in , I stood at the register for a few minutes and no one said anything to me, a woman named Sammy I think eventually helped me but she was not very nice and kinda had a bad attitude and really seemed like she didn't want to help and or be there , they gave me my coffee in the wrong size as well but that's fine, just wish the customer service was better, I get it it's probably frustrating working in a high traffic area, especially dealing with kids and complicated drinks, but I just felt uncomfortable

This was the worst customer service experience I ever had a Starbucks and for that I'll never return to this location. As my 2 teenage kids and I were ordering the young lady at the register was obviously irritated/mad like she really didn't want to work. She kept rolling her eyes and rudely snapped back comments after each of our order. She asks for my name I said "Melissa", after waiting 10 mins them realized she put our order under "Michael." Then we asked the barista for 2 straws, he's literally in arms length of us, he doesn't say a word glares at us and throws the straws on the counter and turns away. Just rude staff all around.

This is my "home" Starbucks. We are here a lot and the baristas are always so friendly and welcoming. I was there today with my kids and only had $10 left on my gift card (left my wallet in the car) and didn't have enough for my coffee just my kids drinks and snacks so I just told the barista to just take off my drink. She told me that my drink would be on them today and comped my beverage. Wow that really made my day. Simple acts of kindness goes such a long way. I plan on paying it forward today as well :) thank u Starbucks!

Who knew that Starbucks was like Cheers? The place where everyone knows your name (and your order!). I've been going here for a few years, and the staff is top notch. They work hard to move the orders out quickly (they are especially good at this during the morning school rush!), and they never lose focus on the customer. I look forward to my morning greeting by name and chit-chat with this terrific bunch!

This place is an absolute circus. The whole staff is comprised of 15 year old kids running about either messing around or chatting about some immaterial garbage. Customers are always waiting even when there is no one there. God knows where the manager is and getting simple coffee shouldn't take as long as it does. No direction, drink quality has deteriorated and place is now a complete shit show - go to the other locations

Awesome customer service, they're always super sweet and really helpful! They make a point to check in and ask me about how my day is, which always puts a smile on my face. Although the interior may be a bit smaller than some are used to, the outside patio is lovely, it's definitely worth taking a few minutes to sit and enjoy your drink!

I like this Starbucks. The store is in a great location and it it is big and spacious with lots of seating inside and outside. The staff are friendly and the drinks come out quickly and tasting right.

This Starbucks used to be great but the new staff is awful. I mobile order and my drink is never ready when it's supposed to be. They often get the order wrong as well. Go somewhere else if you're in a rush and actually want your coffee when your supposed to get it

I love having a Starbucks in this location! The staff here is friendly the shop is very clean and new! I love to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the nice weather. Since this location just a opened, I am not sure how crowded it will get in the summer, but during the school year this place is crawling with high school students. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, it just gets a little loud and the line can be long around 2:30-3:00pm. I try to avoid going during this time of day.

This is a great place to go if you want hot drinks and snacky foods. We come here all the time and we are happy to be a regular! The only problem I have is sometimes it is pretty noisy. Also, the line is very long sometimes. I would recommend the sandwiches they have here.

I don't know why they don't have more stars at this location. The staff and the service is superb. Kody always is happy to wash my reusable gross cup for me and has amazing skills! Definitely a plus for Starbucks to have him! The rest of the team is pretty great as well. I enjoy sitting outside my only request would be if they had more seating inside but it is a tight space. The 5 minute parking great to run in and grab a quick drink!

I come here just about every morning and the employees here are amazing! I work right in the shopping center and they take the time to recognize you and greet me when I walk in now with my name. This is the only location that has the best Iced Caramel Cloud Macchiato too! I've tried other locations and I completely miss the cloud part. This location is my absolute favorite and I'll be back tomorrow

After 4 years of coming here after school, I think it's safe to say that this is my favorite Starbucks in San Diego. They always have my drink out in reasonable timing, and the beverage/snack is finished with excellence. The employees are friendly, and the atmosphere is always perfect to get work done.

Your typical Starbucks. Nice servers. Long lines. It's unfortunate that their wifi never works. Update 9/3/16. Wifi down again. Time to check Yelp for a better stop for coffee. Update 4/27/17 wifi working pretty well now.
