I came by with my fiancee for his birthday, the lady with the pigtails and greying brown hair was very rude. When we told her it was his birthday, she said "happy birthday or whatever", and proceeded to get increasingly annoyed that the Starbucks app, which showed it was his birthday, wasn't working properly to give the bday free drink. When my fiancee tried to order cold foam, she interrupted to ask to see his ID to prove his birthday, and didn't end up writing down the cold foam for his order. So not only did we not get what we ordered, but she also was incredibly rude to him on his birthday. I don't normally write reviews but this was unprofessional enough for me to say something about it. I really didn't think Starbucks was losing so much money on a yearly free drink to have to 'prove' that it's your birthday by pulling out your driver's license (especially when the app says it).

Had a busy Sunday morning and no time to prepare a breakfast at home, so I placed a mobile order to pick up and go. 2 out of 4 items were wrong. Went back to the store to get correct items. The lady at the counter was so rude. She just said she didn’t do the order. She made new one and left them at the counter didn’t say any word for apologize or anything. Took way too longer than expected. Don’t need to go this shop unless you want to get in a trouble. There are other Starbucks near by.

I came for a specific mug, they didn’t have it. When my little sister asked if she could use the bathroom, the girl at the counter told us we had to purchase something. I understand that the toilet is for customers but I’m not used to this kind of bad service.

First time going. My daughter picked this place on her maps because it was open late and said it had a drive-thru. Unfortunately, there was no drive-thru, but I'm not sure if they closed it at a certain time or if it's a false advertisement. Other than that, this starbucks was a good experience. Employee’s were welcoming. The seating was cute and vintage. My 12 year old and 4 year old gives this place 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Beautiful, large and sunny location. Decent amount of seating during non covid times. Quality is good like you would expect from any Starbucks location - staff is nice, though can be sometimes be a bit rushed when the place is full.

This was the worst starbucks I’ve ever been to. Allison yelled “I can’t hear you” very rudely at me while taking my order, she needs customer service training. I ordered a drink and a cookie and I waited about 10 minutes for my drink which was fine but then had to wait for almost 10 more minutes for the cookie which I asked to not be warmed up and they warmed up. The place was crowded with a ton of kids talking very loudly and just overall not an inviting atmosphere.

I went a little out of my way because I wanted a cafe experience(coffee, pastry background music and tables or chairs to chill from a long drive). Of course this Starbucks is no different than others...they make coffee that I like and is familiar to me. But most important to me is being able to chill and drink my coffee. If you want a Starbucks cafe experience there is at least one that can provide that in Santa Cruz!

This place is never open. Such a scam you can't even use your Starbucks app money because they won't let you use it at Safeway Starbucks then close all the Starbucks in Santa Cruz. This review is for corporate for not meeting the union needs to keep this place open.

Ordered: 1 Iced Cherry Chai, 1 Hot Caramel Macchiato, 1 Bacon Gouda Egg Sandwich, 1 Double Smoked Bacon Cheddar Sandwich. Received: 1 Cherry Chai NO ICE IN CUP, 1 barely warm caramel macchiato, 2 barely warm bacon Gouda egg sandwich, and no double bacon cheddar sandwich. Girl behind the register asked multiple times what size our drinks were supposed to be after we stated it several times, and we got the completely wrong sandwich. Not to mention what the actual hell is a .25 cup fee? Do better Starbucks.

My drinks never come out correct here unfortunately and it's hard to ask baristas that look and talk like they're in misery! Plus charging for a cup fee for my iced drink that I normally sip, was put in a hot cup and with a paper dome cover and given a paper straw that started to disintegrate within a few sips of my "iced expresso".. don't bother asking them about it because they made me stupid for even asking and told me I should read the sign that's by the pickup area, lol.. maybe place it in the front so people know before they order their overcharged iced expresso, it will not be "sippable" .. atmosphere is so dry and inviting at 8 am.. and it's all the spots in Santa Cruz, why? You're a beach town and should en sunshine and happiness..

The worker, Allison, was so rotten and rude for no reason. I came in my with family and she instantly spoke in such a passive aggressive tone. It felt as if she was shouting at us for not knowing whether we wanted a paper or glass cup despite having never been here. Her customer service ruined the experience and ambiance of the place. Not to mention she filled my family's drinks to the BRIM with ice. I took barely any sips and I was finished with my VENTI drink. Awful experience.

The staff here are totally disrespectful the bathrooms are absolute disgusting Instead of playing on their phones how bout cleaning and waiting on customers 1st and last time will I spend money at this location. No it wasn't busy. Corporate had issues with this location cuz the employees aren't trained. That falls on management Next time I'll just go to McDonald's. Might be owned by a clown but at least the facilities are clean and the employees respectful

For starters the fact that they charge 25 cents a cup is ridiculous. Elizebeth who was working front POS looked like she hated her job didn't want to even be there. My wife wanted her sausage egg wrap cut in half to cook she said no. I also thought that you are not allowed to hand any flags in the store especially LGBTQ FLAG. Did not feel welcome at all being there. You would think for it being a cafe store they would be way more welcoming. Very unsatisfying visit.

2 tall iced black teas ordered with Stevia in both. Loaded cash on my card through my debit card. The worker was masked and kind. Safe, clean and practiced Starbucks. Really open! They make you put on your lids and straws. Received drinks a little bit later and enjoyed! Good service and drinks! Recommended!

I have enjoyed going to this location for years. The staff are always friendly and remember all the regulars. I really appreciate good customer service!! However, I noticed the other day that someone had removed the Pride flag that was hanging in the window, on the right side when you walk in. As someone who is proud to live in an LGBTQIA+ friendly community, I was hoping this was an unintentional accident. However, upon asking the barista, I was told she didn't know why it was removed, which makes me feel like it is actually intentional. I have read recently about Starbucks' efforts to prevent organized labor and I hope that removing the Pride flag doesn't have something to do with that. I hope that anyone reading this will also stand up and advocate for inclusivity in our community.

DO NOT GO TO STARBUCKS ON MISSION AND DUFOUR! The service here is beyond unacceptable. As a regular Starbucks customer, I know what my drink is supposed to taste like, and what I received was an absolute joke. I ordered a $7 iced coffee with no ice because ice always waters it down, but what I got tasted like literal water. When I politely asked for a fix, I was met with judgmental glares, snarky responses, and zero eye contact from the staff. After waiting 30 minutes while being blatantly ignored, my drink was finally thrown together with a rude yell of "done!"--as if I were the problem. This level of unprofessionalism and disrespect is inexcusable. Save your time, money, and dignity--don't bother with this location. They do not deserve your business. Absolute waste.

First, why are they charging me for light ice when no other starbucks does this, what does "25 cent cup fee" even mean? Second, this isn't even light ice. The cup is 2/3 ice. If they're going to charge me for light ice, at least ACTUALLY give me light ice.

This is the worst Starbucks in Santa Cruz county. DO NOT GO HERE. The baristas are cruel, period. The orders come out wrong, slow, and no organization. The bathroom has a lock combination that changes daily. You need to ask the Barista what the code is-- if you can get them to stop ignoring you, first. Starbucks regulars aren't wimps, so when I say the baristas are cruel, I mean it's really bad. I've been to this location 20+ times because my BFF lived around the corner. Every time there's a problem. There's a 99% chance that you'll have a rude interaction with a barista, or be completely ignored like you're The Invisible Man. If you do Mobile Order, I hope you're not in a hurry. I avoided it for months until last weekend. My girlfriend wanted to go here on Mother's Day. I stayed in the car, and she came back CRYING. I wasn't going to write a Yelp review, but making my girl cry is the last straw. Part of her order didn't come out, and she waited and waited. Baristas ignored her. Finally, the owner came out (yes, the owner) and asked her if she needed assistance. She said she was waiting on a drink; no one had helped her. The owner asked the barista on bar, "Matt" to remake it, and Matt slammed the drink (which he had been hiding on the bar, I guess he forgot to put it with the mobile orders) and said, "Oh, you mean THIS drink?" With all the attitude he could muster. No apology, no have a nice day, nothing. On Mother's Day. We're done. We are UPS teamsters and obviously pro-Union. To the Baristas: We honked for you, supported your strikes and closed-store days, but we're never coming back. See you at Starbucks in Safeway on Mission St. NOT MISSION AND DUFOUR. To the owner of this franchise: Get It Together.

Extremely disappointed today with this Starbucks. I ordered a venti shaken espresso with no ice because when they do add ice it's almost half the cup and there is no use in ordering a venti when they give you a grande's worth of a drink. Second of all how is it possible that I was charged for a bacon sandwich and they didn't tell me it had run out until I read the note. I've never been victim to a bigger scam in my life I don't usually write reviews like this but I think this is warranted - take your support some where else

The barista was completely uninterested in making the drinks correctly. I ordered a grande four shot latte but the barista made a venti instead of a grande which completely watered down my latte. (Although I don't know for sure it tasted like there were only 2 shots in the drink too.). When my friend pointed out the size mistake he said it was a grande but just in a venti cup. It tasted awful and when I opened the lid, it was full to the top. I showed it to the barista and he remade it but once again failed to put four shots in it. It tasted awful but given the delay in remaking the drink, I had to leave and had to throw out a nearly $10 drink. Don't bother going here.

I ordered in store, so everything was pretty standard for me, but a lot of the online order folks seemed to wait a while for their pickup orders. I did not notice a drive-thru, but it may have been on the back side. The employees were all friendly and helpful. No tables inside were open for seating even though the level had been lowered. In general, a nice location but not the most convenient or quick.

Stopped in this Starbucks because it was convenient to where we were heading. Ordered our coffee -- simple, black coffee -- and asked to use the restroom. The barista told us the restrooms were closed due to Covid-19. WTF -- how is it every other business in California has restrooms available at this point in the reopening, but Starbucks does not? But wait, this gets worse: The barista said we could go next door to Blaze Pizza to use their restroom... something I'm sure Blaze Pizza would appreciate. Again, how can Blaze Pizza have restrooms available but Starbucks can't? The bacon bits on this suck salad is that my black coffee took 15 minutes because they had to make a pour-over. How does a pour-over take 15 minutes?

I have to lower my rating because not only is everything in my previous review still true but the drinks were not made correctly the last 2 visits. I've been a total of 3 times and I'm over it. Today was the final time I'll stop here. I went there because it's in a convenient location and Starbucks is a chain so I expected consistency with other Starbucks. But no. My drink is a hot mocha with 2 extra pumps of mocha sauce. Simple, yes? Not only did they not put in the extra mocha sauce but it tasted like they used weak brewed coffee instead of espresso. Not just once but twice. What's up here? I think corporate needs to look into quality control.

Great experience. I believe the person name was Fin that helped me out. They were very personable with every customer that walked in. The water seemed to be broken in the back and it took awhile but having a barista be so considerate and helpful made a difference. Thank you.

We ordered 2drinks in shop, and auto wea with larger orders AFTER US got their orders. Grrrrr we waited patiently until we couldn't wait longer and went up to counter. One fellow simply assumed we were waiting on a mi bike order- we had to talk to another person. No apologies... they just said "it didn't print." I won't be coming back to this one :(( Another shop would give a coffee card for the inconvenience.

This was a really nice Starbucks! It's big and spacious inside! Not sure if people were allowed to sit inside because of Covid but once things open up, the space inside is nice and they have nice plants and artwork.

It's unfortunate because grabbing a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich is sometimes a convenient option for me but I don't think I'll be taking my chances with this location anymore.

This review is mostly for the older woman working there, i believe her name is allison. Shes super rude, slow on food and even slower when making drinks. I honestly stopped ordering in store for fear of having to deal with her. Waited 25 mins for a cake pop because she lost the ticket or just straight up forgot, and it wasnt even busy. Everyone else is great, my mobile orders for the most part are ready when i get there at the assigned time(except for when allison is making drinks, always a wait) overall i wish i could give 5 stars but one employee really ruins the experience for me.

Slow and horrible customer service. I go to Starbucks every single day (not this location thank god) and always get a venti iced water with my latte order. This store said I needed to pay 25c for a cup fee- lol I spend thousands a year at Starbucks... don't make your paying customers pay for water when your lattes are $5. Makes you look like cheap a-holes.

This is such a pretty Starbucks! I love the big glass windows and how it's located off of a busy street. My boyfriend and I ordered online and picked it up. The workers were nice and friendly. We got a got hot chocolate, double chocolate chip frap, croissant and banana bread. Everything tasted great and pretty standard for Starbucks.

Worst treatment of customers. Basically you can tell they are kids not trained in customer respect. Look - I get it- masks are needed and give space.... but you also need to realize I CANT HEAR YOU through the mask and glass.... but instead you kick my family outside to wait but we had 4 drinks coming..... give me a break.... but I don't disrespect you when you don't speak up. I could have talked back at you like you did us, but I have respect for others. And nobody else inside the store..... so - I get you have rules - but don't be so gosh darn rude. Never going again. Manager - you need to teach these kids how to treat people with respect while treating them with random rules. It's not the same everywhere.

Tomas was really helpful- they didn't have cold brew and this was the second Starbucks in the area that didn't have it but Tomas was nice, helpful, understanding. I was close to ripping my freaking hair out because I didn't have my cold brew, but Tomas made me a killer iced chai- you're doing amazing sweetie

This is the mission/highway 1 santa cruz edition of the starbucks borg collective what people love to hate. Parking is either street (technically not impossible, just very nearly so) or the surface lot behind the more or less co located pizza joint. Of the two options the back surface lot is much more likely. Inside there is not a lot to this place. More open space then places to sit, although there are some very welcome table/bench combos on the mission street facing side. This can be a very busy spot during the commute rush hour. 7-10 am ish is what I mean as folks do like to grab and go. They can be understaffed as well which doesn't help anything. On my early bird visit though I had no issues-but then as I say I was in before six and out before seven. Also when it comes to coffee I'm not terribly fussy. A plain large cuppa is just fine. There were some of the more or less standard creep....er...rustic santa cruz types you find in any public spot in santa cruz which isn't any too unusual, but no laptop campers which could be good or bad depending. Overall my personal expierence wasn't any too bad, but this is not the most luxe or super awesome starbucks experience. A good enough spot to get your starbucks craving filled, but not anything to rave about either.

I love the Starbucks here!! It's one of the newer ones so the interior is spacious with lots of tables and clean ones too. I've only had positive encounters with employees and have never had a problem with any of my drinks. I've come here maybe 8-10 times now to get some work done and it's definitely my favorite space to go to.

This is my go to Starbucks. The people working here are always friendly and on top of orders. Sure ordering ahead it may show an item in and it turns out it's unavailable but that's not the norm and they always fix the issue with any other item or a credit. Any negative comments must be from out of towers, :)

Took nearly 10 minutes to order a pastry then another 5 minutes to pay and they're not even busy. A cold pastry at or I'd still be there. Bruh, the woman at the register was so lost and out of breath from all the circles she was doing. Kind of funny but not professional and a bit strange. Come here often but never had this experience. Thus, I leave this review. Shoutout to the barista young man picking up the slack.

Went to this Starbucks today for a special pop-up hour where espresso drinks were free from 1-2pm (tall size only). I had never been to this Starbucks but WOW - it was beautiful! It's huge with tons of working stations and the staff was INSANELY friendly - I was surprised because when there are massive amounts of people looking for freebees I know that can be irritating and overwhelmed to staff. Rachel taking orders was so incredibly nice and made sure to ask even my kids if they wanted anything special for the popup and they passed out rice crispy treats. Alex was also so wonderful and happily gave customers their orders. It seems like these employees enjoy their jobs and there was such a wonderful vibe - I will be back!

We came in store approx 8:45pm. I ordered a Chai Latte. They were out of Chai. My husband ordered a venti skinny vanilla latte I then ordered a decaf latte. We also ordered a sandwich. While waiting for our order we needed to use the restrooms. Unfortunately the restrooms were closed. The employees excuse for us not being allowed to use the restroom due to chemicals was a hilarious statement. We received our order and left. While walking to our car the very HOT sandwich fell out the bottom of the bag onto the ground. It appears the sandwich was heated up in the bag which made the bag oily this causing the sandwich to fall through the bag The skinny vanilla latte was horrible they forgot to put coffee in it. My husband threw it away. My decaf latte tasted like vanilla. Awful. We will never return to this Starbucks.
