Class Action Lawsuit Claims Charging More for Oat Milk Is Discriminatory | Eater

"A major global coffee chain was hit with a similar class-action complaint on March 12 alleging that, because of their size, large chains can control manufacturing costs for nondairy alternatives and that there is already no meaningful price difference between dairy and plant milks; plaintiffs argue removing the surcharge would likely increase plant-milk sales and make alternatives more affordable across the market." - Anastasia Sloan

Starbucks Workers’ Red Cup Day Strike, Explained | Eater

"Red Cup Day — the annual launch of the company's collectible holiday cups — is one of the chain's most profitable promotions, but it has also become a focal point for labor unrest: last year workers organized the “Red Cup Rebellion,” staging strikes at over 100 stores, and the union plans an even larger walkout (thousands of workers at hundreds of locations) on November 16 to protest chronic understaffing and the pressure of frequent promotional days that drive long waits and stressful conditions. Organizers say the actions have helped legitimize their movement and prompted some bargaining, while the company insists it remains committed to working with partners and says unions have not met with it recently; the union disputes that account. The dispute has produced extensive legal activity — regional National Labor Relations Board offices have issued 105 complaints covering 369 unfair-labor-practice charges, including an allegation that the corporation refused to bargain with 242 certified units — and specific findings that managers illegally threatened to remove benefits (for example, an abortion travel benefit). The company has also rolled out higher wages and benefits at non-union stores while asserting that unionized locations must bargain over similar improvements, an approach the NLRB has repeatedly questioned as unlawful. As the stalemate continues, the union is asking customers to join rallies, contact executives, and support walkouts in solidarity, and colleges and students are increasingly coordinating actions against the chain." - Jaya Saxena

How the NLRB’s New Joint Employer Rule Affects Restaurant Franchises | Eater

"Has been cited as an example of a company-owned chain where unionization efforts have been concentrated, contrasting with the franchise model where bargaining and liability have been harder to pursue against parent companies." - Amy McCarthy

Starbucks is the absolute best even though sometimes it takes a little time to get my drink. I just know it. It’s the best every time I order I am waiting so patiently just for that strawberry açai refresher. I love this summer drink, and everything on the menu is amazing. I also love how they have food options as well. Starbucks is the best. I wish I could get it every day and the workers there are also so kind. I hope to be back at Starbucks soon. 🩷🩷🩷🩷

My experience was awful. I ordered two grande matchas latte with coconut milk and the baristas took over a half an hour to serve me. The place was almost empty and I reminded them twice and they made me wait. They prioritize mobile orders and drive thru orders. They do not prioritize in-person orders even if no one is around. Horrible service. Three people were working there and all of them doing mobile orders and drive thru. At least one person should be taking care of walk-ins. At the end I requested for my money back. As, I was served with one Matcha, rather then 2. I asked for my money back. Im sharing one Matcha with my mom in the pictures. ( June 22, 2025, 8:00pm)

I’m a student at Kean for that reason I go often to this location but today I had the worst experience ever I was the only one at the store waiting for a drink but they had a lot of drive through waited for almost 15 minutes I asked to please get my coffee and the young man gave me the biggest actitud he was the only one doing the drinks everyone else was busy cleaning NOT ACCEPTABLE! Will not go there again!

Google
Possibly the worst starbucks in existence. At 8:00pm I order a coffee. They say "sorry the coffee machine is cleaning". "No prob I don't mind waiting". "Oh its cleaning for the night" They close at 9:30. So a Starbucks that can't be bothered to make coffee. Perfect. So don't bother trying to get coffee here at night.

Google
This location has been consistently good. They say hello, they get your order right, and they keep the line moving. Nice to see Starbucks focusing on what got them to the top... quality and service. Many stores are still empty due to constant price increases while service went off the cliff. You can't be a top brand if your staff hates your customers for buying the product and refuse to work at any kind of reasonable pace.

Google
This Starbucks store is simply **awesome**. (Disclaimer: This is NOT a paid review.) The staff are so hardworking and gracious. Always super-nice, regardless of how long the drive-through car-line is, and/or, the line in the store. The hangout/working-space and ambience is superb. Wide, with a variety of stations by the wall, on the middle table or by the windows, etc. All-in-all, 5/5, A+. Good job Angie, Jha'ni, Brook, Ivan, Haley, Jay, and Adrian: thanks-a-mil, folkx: please keep up the GREAT work! :-)

Wow i’m astonished with how horrible the service is here. I ordered through mobile order. My order was expected to be done at 7:35. After 15 minutes I ask the barista that I’m missing my drink. They ask me what it was and then proceeded to say they would make it. I wait another 10 minutes and I see the baristas just staring at me and cleaning up. So then i go up to them and tell them I’ve been waiting over 20 mins for my drink and the barista processed to stare at me blankly and ask “what’s the drink” as if i hadn’t told them already to make it when it was already suppose to me made! Just asked for the refund cause that was the worst service i’ve ever experienced. Worst part is that this wasn’t the first time it happened.

My first time ordering coffee from Starbucks and Edyth helped me out with creating an order. She took the time to understand my favorite things and crafted an amazing order, I’m absolutely in love! Shout out to Edyth!!

Yelp
I come here almost every day and I am beyond frustrated with this location. Forget about having an issue with your order when you come into the store... The service is really bad. Employees barely look up from their machines to attend to customers. Priority is given to drive-through customers. The in-store experience needs to be managed better. There also seems to be a revolving door of college kids working here. Why can't they keep more consistent employees??? Every other day there is someone new on the job, struggling to make the drinks. One girl today didn't know about cup sizing, when I asked for a short cup, she gave me the wrong size. I also had ordered an iced coffee with almond milk, and she put so much milk in it, it is bordering on white. I had to ask her to remake it TWICE, after clearly stating I would like a dark coffee. I have to compose myself every morning before walking in, because the service is that horrible. If you have the time to go to another Starbucks location, don't even bother coming here.

Yelp
Very clean, well organized store. I like it. They have no seating inside so all order have to be taken out. They got order right so no complaints. I would definitely return.

Yelp
My regular go to Starbucks The baristas are consistent. They are all fast and I have never had problems with accuracy of my order. Mobile orders pretty much made on time. This place specially the drive through gets busy most of the time but it moves pretty quick.

Yelp
I'm very unhappy with the service at this Starbucks location. Workers don't greet you and are rude and customer service is non-existent. Today was the last straw: my coffee was sitting on the table for 10 minutes while the barista refused to put my lemon loaf in the toaster. First, they couldn't put it in the toaster because there was frosting on it, so I took the frosting off. Then they refuse to put it in the toaster because I touched it. So, why did the barista not offer to take the frosting off for me, so it could be put in the toaster? Also, they forgot a banana nut bread my friend ordered. As said, customer service is non-existent. It's also not a place I see myself sitting down to have a cup of coffee.

Yelp
i love this location its so nice and clean and my drinks are always made on time and taste great!! the only complaint i have is about a white male that works the drive thru. his attitude is always negative and rude he seems miserable and honestly ruins my experience

Yelp
This Starbucks is so unbelievably slow. I ordered coffee through the app and sat in the store for one hour waiting. They always forget a drink in the order and half the time will close at random hours and leave a sign on the door. Do not recommend.

Yelp
this has to be my FAVORITE starbucks ever since they opened!!! the whole staff is AMAZING!!!!!!!! the vibes are ALWAYS GOOD, the baristas always make sure my morning starts off on a good note! love you all !

Yelp
Other Starbucks have no excuse as to why they might not be functioning sufficiently enough because this Starbucks is literally across the street from a university and I've never felt so relaxed getting my coffee, even at peak hours when caffeine addicted students are most in need for their morning juice. Also the staff is super fast and friendly. :)

Yelp
This was my first time trying this particular Starbucks yesterday. I don't normally drink iced coffee but I tried iced toasted vanilla oat milk espresso. It was really good. Also, the staff at this location was very friendly!

Yelp
You know this place is usually great I come here almost every other day. I was here yesterday and the lady at the drive through was so sweet, she even helped recommend a unique off menu drink that I loved! Unfortunately, today wasn't the same case. I was patiently waiting for my food and when she came to hand everyone their order she proceeded to call the name and then put the food down, when she got to my name she looked at it did not call it out loud and placed it down and continued calling names. So I just went to grab my order as I was grabbing it she held it down and with the most stank attitude stated you can't just grab the orders you have to wait to be called. Instead of calling my name she proceeded to call every other name there and then said my name and handed it to me with disgust. I have never felt so upset I really wish I didn't experience this as I feel hesitant to come back and have to deal with that again. Everyone else there was so sweet it was just her. I'm so upset about this situation :( I would just say avoid going inside to pick up your orders.
