I wanted to leave a reply to the person who left a review about the barista making a “racial” comment towards his wife by saying the pull apart bread tastes like monkey bread - and how he said he’s sure that. I such thing exists. Well, yes monkey bread exists, and yes the pull apart bread at Starbucks tastes just like it. No one was being racist or incentive. They were simply describing how something tasted. I’ve provided a picture of monkey bread. Lastly, I wanted to add that the baristas at this location go above and beyond in serving the community.

I have been a loyal customer at your store for years, consistently ordering the same drink every time: a plain English breakfast tea with nothing added. I prefer to add my own cream and sugar, which is why I always request the tea to be served without any additions. Since the COVID pandemic, I have noticed a decline in staff quality and attention to detail. Most recently, my tea has been tasting off, prompting me to check the orders I received. Attached are pictures to support my claim that the staff placed both a Royal English Breakfast teabag and an Emperor’s Clouds and Mist teabag in the same cup. This is not what I ordered, and it has happened multiple times during my visits. Given that I pay around five dollars for a cup of hot tea, I expect the order to be correct and consistent. I am disappointed by this recurring mistake, which feels intentional at this point, especially since I have stayed in the store multiple times and made my preferences clear. I am seriously considering not returning to this location, as this recent experience was the last straw for me.

The atmosphere is definitely inviting, open, and mostly clean. The menu is consistently changing every few months, which is normally good, however, they tend to remove popular items or those that you typically want when planning to stop after it's been a couple of months since your last visit. Food is tasty and filling, and they make your drink per request, I haven't had any baristas butcher our drinks or forget to add what's requested. The only negative is the customizability limitation on sandwiches and the removal of certain desirable menu items. Employees are usually friendly and soft-spoken when it comes to dining area closings etc. They are helpful, and they answer questions truthfully and understandably to those who may not understand the "Starbucks Lingo" per se. Overall good experiences when I've stopped in and I would recommend this location over several others in the Pittsburgh/Monroeville area!

Everyone is always nice at this location but this morning I stopped in to get a few drinks and I ordered a black coffee with halfn half and cold foam which is my usual— I’ve never opened my cup to add sugar and it be so low and they didn’t add the half n half. Little disappointed

The baristas working at this location are superstars and they all deserve a raise! We came here for a few hours this morning after the huge widespread power outage all over Pittsburgh. They waited on literally hundreds of customers and were fast, friendly and efficient the whole time. Despite the understandably long wait they made sure everyone was taken care of. If you come to this location tip generously because they deserve it!

Employees are friendly and nice. Be prepared , when paying with a card they will hand you the card reader and say" its going to ask you a question", that question is how much do you want to tip. You can tip nothing and push 0 or any amount you want. They are always nice so i do tip.

When my wife , whose African American asked for the person behind the counter to describe a simple cinnamon coffee cake, he very ignorant responded by asking if she ever had Monkey Bread, as if that is an appropriate or real description of it, in fact I’m sure it doesn’t exist. It was a young white male who needs to be corrected about social etiquette and not say things that reflect his racial bias. I expect management to act appropriately.

First time here and it's the closest Starbucks to my new home. Placed a mobile order before leaving my house and it was ready when I arrived. Walked in, grabbed my drink and I was on my way. There was plenty of parking and it seems like a great crew working here!

I ordered a hot matcha green tea with 2 pumps of sweetener and found out there are pieces of lemon in it. Do not recommend.

This place is so amazing! Ever wanted to go to a Starbucks where baristas hate you!?! This is your place! Feel the warmth of those cold, dead eyes of the kid angry he works at a coffee shop when he would rather be making his "beats!" And don't worry if no one jumps in to help, because they hate you too! Have an issue with your order? You better call corporate because "I don't really know what I'm supposed to do here" is the role of the day! Bring your family! Get pictures with the kids! And if you forget to go F yourself, no worries, the hipsters at this Starbucks are going to remind you!

Great location. Friendly staff. Clean store. Helpful and friendly management. Nice but small outdoor seating. Still refreshing a coffee while enjoying fresh air. Stay safe!

This Starbucks needs to go back to basic training, today was the third time they have put dirt or coffee grinds on my drink. Their excuse is always oh we made you the 5 dollar drink instead of the 8 dollar one you actually ordered. I go to Starbucks twice a day, have for the last 12 years and have never seen a location as slow, disrespectful and clueless than this bunch. Nor have I ever seen a drink that includes dirt of coffee grinds before Its also filthy behind the counter, they are to busy decorating the drinks with dirt or coffee grinds to clean their workstations i guess

Ordered Carmel frap with no coffee, and they gave me milk with chunks of ice in it. Every other Starbucks can make my drink right.

Product is the same at all Starbucks... It's a chain! It's the service and how you are treated that gets you coming back. I will not be back to this Starbucks. Lots of employees, very little customer interaction. Waited at the register while manager completed paperwork. Didn't get sandwich... Went back to register and waited some more. No one approached, but I suppose the person that actually took my order finally realized I didn't get it... and gave it to me. More like a factory, than a customer service experience.

I could launch into a diatribe about the swirling quality of my impression when it comes to Starbucks in the broader sense, but let's stick to this location in Wilkins Twp. 1. Malfunctioning app order receipt? They didn't seem to care. Wasn't asked if I'd like to order otherwise. The indifference was telling. 2. No please, announce the ordered drink's delivery in a voice so low and while you're walking away, so it's not heard. 3. Dirty unkempt sugar and milk station? Eh...someone will maybe possibly sometime get it. Whose turn is it? I'm on break. 4. The coffee...just a simple large coffee. Yuck. Do they mass roast their beans in a cement mixer fired by blowtorch? Tastes terrible. Starbucks is, in my opinion, coffee with a heavy emphasis on brand and corporation, not quality. Ugh.

I rarely write reviews or hit up Starbucks, but I have to toss this out real quick per what just happened! Emily (sure of the name, was on her shirt) was perhaps the greatest treat of my year. Like the blend of professional-witty-friendly-bubbly-eager-yet-patient every manager of everywhere would seek. Also clearly hyperintelligent FWIW. I'd prob have written this regardless of the next piece so we'll just consider it a bonus: the coffee is FIIIIIRE! I've never had someone make a sugarless 7-shot Americano that's so smooooooth & delicious. Think she must've perfected the cream ratio to the dank I ordered. BRAVO! (hey if a boss or owner reads this, lmk if you're ever letting her go because we'll GLADLY take her into our venue). Peace! ‍

This store should be shut down cause they closed their doors every couple days. Even I do mobile order haft an hour ahead of time cause I need go back to work then when I come pick up my drink the doors was closed and they make me go to the drive thru wait in line for almost hour. Bad management ever.

Never had a bad experience when picking up my mobile orders and the staff has always been friendly. This time when I placed my mobile order for the new Apple crisp Machiato, I walked in and noticed that my cup was a tall instead of a grande. I brought it up to the front and the Lady with the blonde Ombré (?) Immediately remade it for me and let me keep the tall one which I gave to my grandmother. Turns out I had ordered a tall after all without realizing and I wish I had got her name to call her out because she was so sweet.

I stopped by this 'Bucks just before making an eight hour trek home. A few things I noticed: *There was only one person in the Starbucks, besides the employees, this is awesome b/c very rarely do I see an empty one. *The two baristas were perky and like a comedy duo, much welcomed at eight in the morning *Swanky bathrooms. I kinda wanted to stay in there forever. Bye empty Starbucks, it's a shame we aren't located near each other but I'll always remember the five minutes we shared together.

I walk in, make eye contact with "Chief" and he gives me a nod. I don't even make my way to the register and he already gets started on my order brewing up 5 fresh shots of espresso. I pay for my order and chit-chat with the Chief about this n'at. He has my order up in no time - a large Iced Americano with an extra shot, 2 sugars and a *small splash* of 2% milk...just a splash. I take my first sip and the liquid thunder hits the receptors in my brain and I'm ready to roll. The Chief knows exactly how much milk qualifies as a *small splash* every.single.time. Too much milk and the drink is too creamy, too little and it's motor oil but a small splash allows one to enjoy the slight sweetness of the 2 sugars but also the boldness of the espresso. If the Chief is making my drink then I know it is going to be perfect. One can only master this by countless repetitions and a true understanding of his craft.

Great Starbucks! The employees are fast, efficient, and friendly. Unfortunately, I haven't been inside since the drive-through was added, and I would assume, potential changes made inside. Though the drive-through is somewhat awkwardly placed behind the plaza, it's the fastest Starbucks drive-through that I've ever experienced. I'll be back!

This particular Starbucks was extremely disappointing. I've been told by other Starbucks employers to order a regular latte with one pump of chai because it's cheaper than the "dirty chai latte" and I don't want as much sugar/flavor as the regular one. I ordered it this way and the guy deleted my order and re-entered it so I had to pay more... I was so thrown off I didn't say anything and definitely won't be back.

Visited friends and wanted to take a coffee break. Normally would not need to rate a Starbucks but I felt like this should be noted. The service was great, friendly and prompt...BUT, I'm a bit confused about why my cappuccino has a dirty LID. Splashes of something - it's the details with a 5.00 small coffee.

I want to give this place a good review because it's really nice inside but I can't because they messed up my drink, I know I spoke clearly. I wanted a Tr Strawberry Açaí lemonade with three scoops strawberries, blended. Instead I got the regular strawberry açaí refresher, not blended. My drink was still good but not what I wanted or what I thought I was paying for. Maybe if I go back and they get it right I will up my rating. :(

Im not sure how anyone could possibly work with the manager there ,he is unbelievably narcissistic and pompous , his attitude is so unprofessional and disgusting I can't even bear to go there anymore.He talks to his customers like they're idiots and the employees. I have witnessed it so many times I'm just sick of it . I also witnessed one woman telling him off for that reason ,she said and did what everyone else in the room wanted to say but didn't have the guts to say it out loud . I know it's hard to find employees but there has got to be somebody better to represent your company better than that .

Drove through Starbucks this morning for an unsweetened black iced tea with two Splenda and a spicy chorizo, egg and cheese sandwich. They were sold out of the sandwich so I went with a chicken sausage and bacon biscuit. It was the best breakfast sandwich I've had from this location. Only giving four stars due to the sell out of options, I typically drive through this Starbucks 3 times a week and they almost always are sold out of one sandwich or lunch item. On the bright side, always great service and happy employees!

Save yourself time and money and just go anywhere else or just stay home! The service is slow, if you ask for a refund you won't get it and the coffee can be very bitter. If you have any other option; i.e. The other Starbucks down the street, McDonald's, DD, your house, a neighbors house, please go there! Or just drink water! Coffee is supposed to be a pick me up, this Starbucks is the biggest let down ever! Beware!

I want to love this Starbucks, but I don't. This location is convenient to me, especially when heading toward Churchill afterward. The layout of the store is a little awkward and there isn't a good place to form a line. There are two doors to enter the store, on opposite sides of a corner store. The best place to sit, and only place that doesn't get hit with the gust of outside air from the opening doors, is a two-seater table right by the pick-up counter. The bathrooms at this location have always been clean and orderly and free of offensive smells. I've found that the selection of goods and gifts is lacking here, compared to other locations in the region, so skip these unless it is urgent. Finally, onto the coffee. Now the coffee is the same Starbucks you know, but the attention to detail with the mobile orders is lacking. If you want any customization, ORDER IN PERSON. My mobile orders are rarely correct, in milk choices, toppings, and temperature. If I am not ordering a drink the way that it comes, I need to stand in line and tell it to a barista in person. It's not terrible, but it is highly inconvenient for a location I only visit for the proximity to the highway.

For me personally, this is the only Starbucks in Monroeville that can complete an order in a timely manner. I was impelled to write this review as I was trolled for writing a negative review for the McMasters location (probably from one of the baristas there that is mad at the copious amounts of reviews saying how astronomically long it takes to get a coffee there and wants to say their peace). With that rant over, Penn Center has rarely given me any issues with getting my coffee in a timely manner and for reference, I'm there multiple times a week and drive out of my way so as not to have to deal with the prissy attitudes of McMasters. Granted at times they may be backed up or get an order wrong, but as a whole they are a rockstar crew with managers that actually manage. Much love to these baristas

I had been craving a Starbucks frap and its been at least a few years since I last visited a Starbucks. I decided to get one today and as I'd hoped, the drive thru experience exceeded my expectations. This particular Starbucks location was recently converted to a drive thru, making it simple and easier to access this often busy and hard to find parking location. I was able to order a Chai Creme Frappuccino (creamy blend of spicy chai, milk and ice with sweetened whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon) without an order delay. There were 2 cars queued up ahead of me that moved quickly. The window barista was friendly and courteous. My drink looked fabulous and was very yummy. The entire experience was less than 10 minutes. I saved probably 15-20 from finding a spot, going into the store to stand in a long line and walking back to my car that wouldn't be close by in this busy area. I recommend the Starbucks drive-thru and hope that they remain consistent in providing great service, food & fraps! 4 stars *(not a fan of their coffee, in-store experiences or prices)

I don't like this location and purposefully go out of my way to use the next nearest one which is up william penn highway further.

Great crew amazing drinks (YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR ) If your ever unsure about what to get they're always willing to throw out ideas even if your not a fan of coffee but need caffeine they find a way to get what you need .amazing clean atmosphere; good music and amazing customer service

I don't understand how a coffee shop can move so incredibly slow - I could understand if it were busier when I went but the only reason it got busy was because they were pumping out MAYBE 2 coffees every 5 minutes. Took 45 minutes for me to get ONE coffee. Just avoid this at all costs and go to Dunkin' or honestly just drink water off the road and you'll have a better experience.

That was the worst experience I have ever had in a drive thru. If you have somewhere to go just go to the dunkin up the road. It took 45 minutes just to get our order taken and there were only 4-5 cars in front of us. I understand hospitality is important as a former employee in the service industry but if you are taking orders in the drive thru you need to be faster.

Horrendous service. It should not take 25 minutes for a coffee and sandwich. I understand this store is busy, however 2 workers were standing on their phones while no one prepared my order.

Very disappointed with the service at this Starbucks. There were 5 workers congregating and not waiting on their customers. The one worker, who was standing there doing nothing, yells at the one worker who is already making drinks to do the mobile orders. The baristas who were working at the cash register were also the ones making the drinks. Nothing against the one barista, but I asked for light as and she proceeds to fill my whole venti with ice...she was also taking care of all of her co-workers orders so I understand the rush to get my drink together.

Susan is THE BEST. She was super sweet and nice at the drive-thru and the drinks were delicious. Great experience!

I walked out without my coffee that I paid for this morning, because the barista did not see my order again, I had to get to work, and its about the fifth time this has happened. There was only one person ahead of me in line. He talks to much and doesn't pay attention to what he is doing. I had a yogurt in my bag and had to throw it out because it is expired. It is the closest to my house but I am never going back again.

I love Starbucks and visit frequently. I just can't comprehend how it's the only drive thru in America that makes you insert or swipe your own credit card.
