Ambitious New Metro-Style Train Will Stop In Every European Country

Dubbed the ‘tube for Europe’, this proposed high-speed, metro-style train network aims to connect every European country with at least one station, potentially stretching as far as Türkiye and the UK. It promises speeds of around 250mph to drastically cut down painful long-distance journeys, and plans include purpose-built stations outside major cities that double as landmarks, with concert halls, event spaces and museums making them far more interesting than regular platforms. The bright-blue trains, matching the EU flag, are designed without class divisions but will feature quiet spaces and cafés, while security is set to be AI-driven, using sensors with biometric verification and automated threat detection. According to 21st Europe, Starline could reduce short-haul flights by about 80 percent and offer journeys 30 percent faster than cars and traditional rail, operating on a unified ticketing system that lets multiple providers and digital services integrate directly.
