If you don’t come here to buy wine …. You should, and you’re really missing out! It’s NOT a run of the mill liquor store . If you want crappy mass produced wine, look elsewhere. Here you get super reasonably priced wine that is light years ahead of what you’ve been drinking thus far. Half the time I don’t even look at the shelf, I just ask one of the extremely knowledgeable wine connoisseurs that work there what their current favorite yada yada is . I’ve never been steered wrong and every gathering I go to asks “ where on earth did you get this wine ?!” I’ve been going here for a few years, and always pick up a bottle to go home with after a hard climbing session at metro rock next door. They also do tastings and fun little gatherings from time to time . I love this place!

Great selection of wines with a knowledgeable staff that consistently rotates their selection so you can always discover something interesting. Not the place for a dirt cheap bottle but still some reasonable bottles. They also have a rewards program.

Great selection of landmark producers along with some more obscure natural wines. Folks who run the shop are always down to recommend fun options and chat. They have wine tastings on Thursdays that are not to be missed!

Everyone who works here is friendly and knowledgeable. I'm early on in my journey of wine knowledge and appreciation. I come in every few weeks, often with some vague idea of what I'm looking for, and no matter who is working, they are happy to listen, give me options that match my criteria (with very helpful, detailed descriptions), and let me make my decisions without pressure. Fabrizio makes an effort to get a variety of delicious, interesting wines, many of which outperform their price tag. The selection, affordability, and customer service are all top notch!

As a somm I am always on the hunt for a go-to wine shop, no matter the neighborhood. Starr delivers in both selection and service! Great range of bottles in price, region, and style. I know when I come here I can ask for whatever they’re excited about and I’ll have something good to sip on for the evening.

Great place for innovative but accessible wines. I found the shop when I joined an oyster CSA (The World’s Your Oyster) and my pickup spot was here. Now we have oysters and fine wine. Can’t complain.

My new fave wine place! They have a great selection of wines that you don't usually see at a typical neighborhood store. They also have a wide selection of sake! Found my fave nigori for a better price than what I would've paid for elsewhere. They also have a membership program - I forgot what benefits you get but it's probably the after the 10th bottle you get something.. or something like that :)

Fabrizio (the owner) is super knowledgeable and friendly, as are the rest of the folks working at Starr Wines! There are wines from literally all over the world and everyone working is always so helpful and patient when it comes to recommending different wines, whether its for a meal or solo. Every time I visit Starr Wines, I learn something new and leave with a great bottle -- what more could ya ask for?

I really like wine, but I've never put in the effort to become an expert. I started going to Starr and asking for recommendations. Those never failed, so I started picking up bottles that I either thought I would like, or that I had never heard of. And I liked those too. Wine shopping is no longer a source of anxiety for me thanks to Starr. I'll stop in when I walk by and buy a bottle for dinner and feel confident that it will be good. And not infrequently they are great, and often something I never would have thought to try, like the pictured amber wine from Georgia.

A wonderful addition to the Bushwick/Ridgewood area! They have such a great selection of natural wines. During this quarantine have certainly tried a few and have loved all of them. They also have $5-7 canned cocktails and wine that are a nice treat when walking to pick up your wine. Definitely recommend!

These guys are wonderful and have a fantastic selection of really interesting wines. Also love the cans of cocktail and esp sake. Great for an impulse purchase on a Friday evening!

Personal service by a very experienced staff, they really know how to procure wine from producers who care about more than the wine. Excellent recommendation for Orange wine - so far so delicious. The staff & owners really know what they are doing while delivering a wide variety of wine and spirits. Enjoy!

how can you not carry myx moscato???!! i hated the moscato they recommended. the queen's moscato would never taste so bad!! i hate this place!
