The server was kind of new, learning her way, attentive, and helpful. Food rec'd rave reviewers from our out of town guests. That was good to hear. We were exhausted from several days in Concord and Lexington, where we didn't have a disappointing meal! We had french onion soup [needed to meld a bit more], burger [v good, "tots just potato"], turkey sandwich [oh, so good!], and fish & chips [good, the slaw was "incredible"] 7.5.25 Breakfast today was very good for 4 of us. Moderate 20-30 min wait; our server, Sam, was spot on, as she timed her visits for coffee and water refills, checking on orders to asking if we needed anything; great job! Cali omelet rec'd high praise, as did the eggs Benny Florentino [we asked for spinach]; the caprese omelet lacked punch of the basil pesto, even though I asked for extra; and, the single pancake for the table [a shared sweet treat] was a big hit! Then, it was off to the ferry for our guest, to start their transport home to DC, finishing a phenomenal July 4th visit for the Hingham Parade!

I love coming here as it's a hidden gem w/in the south shore and whenever I am in the area, I have to stop by for their awesome breakfast. I am becoming a regular at this place which is great as it's so warm and welcoming. Love the holiday spirit in there and just overall feel of the place. Pictures are from 3 different times that I have visited on the weekends. The menu stays the same however I always try to take advantage of the specials that happen every weekend. It is never the same so always try their awesome food. I love so far their Breakfast Tacos and the "Cali" Eggs Benedict. But will be looking forward to trying other menu options soon. Please come by for breakfast or if you're looking to swing by later in the day, it is the place to be.

Nothing like a crispy Maine Lunch at good old Stars on Hingham Harbor! Wonderful place in my hood that is a regular go-to spot for me. Excellent and continually evolving draft list, delicious salads and sandwiches, and some of the best people I know running the show! Stop by!

Google
What a great find and apparently I was the last to find it . If you’re going to visit on a Saturday morning you better get there early. The lines started backing up just before 10:00 am. One of the daily special items was blueberry cornbread. That may have been the best corn bread I’ve ever had. The staff waded friendly and the food was served quickly and hot. All was delicious and the full bar was a nice touch . The views from the window seats were great. This jewel was well worth the drive into Hingham and was what I missed might say a destination breakfast.

I was in town for a wedding and while the groomsmen got ready, the wives went for brunch and it was incredible! We were greeted by the friendliest staff and a steaming cup of coffee as soon as we were seated. We all raved about our dishes; all delicious and large portions! We loved that all the toast came from Fireking Bakery. As a huge craft beer lover, I was blown away by their offerings and looking for an excuse to go back for lunch or dinner for another amazing meal accompanied by a local craft beer! Google
Everything was top notch. I cane here on the recommendation of a local while on vacation and after this, if I ever see that guy again, I'm just going to put him in charge of my life. The place looks great, it's immaculate, the service is wonderful and that breakfas was the best I've had in quite some time.

The food was good. I have to admit I had the pork chop with the grilled asparagus the Yukon potatoes it was cooked as I ordered it and everything was very tasty and my dining companion had the quesadillas she enjoyed them very much. But they need to pay a little bit more attention to cleanliness. There was all kinds of crap underneath our table, broken crayons, french fries, and other gross stuff. Our server, Andrew B. Didn’t really give off the impression that he wanted to be there at all. He took his time. He was a bit lazy in our opinion. He only checked on us once after getting our food, never offered us drink refills. The final straw for me was when he brought the check he literally half threw it down on the table. I almost said something, but it was very crowded and we just wanted to leave. I expressed myself by reducing his tip. I almost always leave 20 or 25%. If the service was exceptional Andrew got 15%.

Breakfast for the win!!!!! Friendly and welcome staff. Food was delicious! I never had these type of tater tats before which was bacon and cheddar. I love this breakfast special! Good start of our day! They also have huge pancakes!

Yelp
About 2:30 on a Monday afternoon and the crowd was light. Ordered a Manhattan and #21 Pilsner on their extensive beer selection. Both were delicious. Started with the clam chowder, rich, thick, not too many potatoes, bomb.. Had the scallops over risotto, preferably cooked, slight crunch but still super tender. Risotto had chunks of squash and cheese, super rich. Side of open flame grilled asparagus, also cooked nicely, still fresh & crisp. Mrs. had the scampi appetizer ,five large shrimp on toasted baguettes with dipping sauce, and those were the hit of the order. Quick polite service ,All good .

Yelp
We made it just in time for breakfast! Nice, large restaurant with friendly staff. Hubs had the Spanish wrap-- nicely done, very filling and tasty! I had the cali benedict-- very different with the sweet chili sauce and guac, ended up being a better combination than expected! I upgraded to the bacon tots-- my only complaint is that there needs to be more! Super good! We also shared the challah French toast-- nice fluffy bread! (But damn, why $2 for real maple syrup?!) Would return if ever in the area again!

Yelp
Best Breakfast on the South Shore! As longtime residents of Hingham, my wife and I have made Stars on Hingham Harbor our go-to breakfast spot for many years. The food is consistently delicious, and it's reasonably priced. The Fire King bread is truly amazing! If you visit on a Sunday morning before the churches let out, you shouldn't have any trouble getting a table. We arrived at 9:30 this morning and were seated right away. As always, we left full and very happy. Whether you're a South Shore native or just visiting, you must try Stars on Hingham Harbor. It's right across the street from the beautiful Hingham Harbor and close to local shops and businesses. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
My chicken wings were cooked to perfection!! My friend had the turkey burger but it was the onions rings that were really the hit!! Thin cut seasoned to perfection! The waitress was cheerful and quick! Love that it was right across from the water.

Sharon F.

Yelp
Started going back there because it is convenient and they have quite a variety on their menu. But last week was disappointing. ( Jan. 29, 2025) Ordered the mussels in wine appetizer ( for dinner) and there was no taste of wine at all. The sauce was thick and yellow and tasted like a LOT of butter. I had to hold up each mussel to drain before I ate it. I know its hard these days for restaurants to have enough staff and food is inconsistent, so will go back, but just not order that dish.

Mandy P.

Yelp
I tried this place twice, once on a busy Saturday morning and 2nd time on a Monday afternoon. Service was great both times, food is fresh and made from scratch. The soup was amazing, blueberry grilled cornbread amazing! We order some drinks, there's a full bar. The environment is very clean as well. Definitely going back when visiting Massachusetts.

Shelly B.

Yelp
We had a brunch reservation on Sunday and our table was ready right when we walked in the door. I appreciated the fact that they let us sit at the table while we waited for the other people in our party to arrive. The place was packed but it felt cozy and the tables didn't feel like it was on top of each other. Our waitress was good and brought our food out promptly. Some people in our group has food allergies and the waitress didn't hesitate to confirm with the kitchen if certain items had nuts or dairy. I ordered the Bostonian combo plate with came with 3 eggs, bacon, housemade bacon tots, beans and a blueberry muffin. Everything tasted great. I got a chance to try my friends home fries and they were delicious. Perfectly fried and well seasoned. Everybody else at our table enjoyed their food and even had leftovers to take home. I would come again if im in the area.

Paul S.

Yelp
Left Marshfield to go have breakfast at stars this morning we arrived to see other patrons feasting on home fries and eggs and bacon but were turned away at 11:30 because breakfast ends . What a disgrace. We are sitting at Toast a mile up the street with a great water view will update you all shortly . Merry Christmas

Yelp
Somebody recommended this restaurant to me so I went ahead and gave it a try. It looks like a smaller place at first glance but there is still plenty of seating. You can get breakfast, lunch or dinner here and so I came for a late lunch. We were seated right away and our waiter served us ice water and dinner rolls immediately then let us look over the menu while he went to get us the sodas that we ordered. They have appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, chicken, beef, pasta and seafood on their lunch and dinner menu. Many of the entrees sounded good but I decided to go with the steak tips. The steak tips at this place normally are served with stir fry vegetables and rice but I asked if I could swap out the side dishes for something else so the waiter let me know what other options were available. I picked the mashed potatoes and onion rings. When I received my meal everything was delicious and the steak tips were cooked exactly to my liking. The waiter that we had provided outstanding service. I will most definitely be back!

Paula G.

Yelp
Not bad yet missing the mark on flavor . Service was great and helpful during dinner time. Not rushed and able to continue in out conversation.

Diane M.

Yelp
We did take out since we are working late. My scallops were tough and salty. Very disappointed in this $30 entree.

Henry C.

Yelp
I had a great time here. First everyone was nice and everyone was on a good mood. The food came out fast and it was really good. I got chicken fingers and fries and it was a huge portion. I could barely finish it. This is a very good restaurant.

Ray M.

Yelp
Everything from the food, the atmosphere and servers. Here for a visit from Texas and this place is on my faves list for sure!

Stuart H.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Stars, and go every week, usually for lunch. They have really good daily specials; lately they've had clam, chicken parm, and grilled turkey sandwiches. My favorite, however, is the spicy fish tacos. Really good, with delicate (not greasy) breading, and fries, with ample portions. There is also a very good rotating draft list of 24 different area breweries (well, 23 and usually a national brand such as Pabst Blue Ribbon). Great, friendly staff, nice surroundings, and the prices are reasonable. What else do you want?

Tiia G.

Yelp
Great beer selection, good food and portions, the med salad left something to be desired but then again idk why she would order that

Kevin L.

Yelp
Our go-to for an eat out breakfast. Good menu, something for everyone. Consistent very good for. Great service. Charming diner-ish atmosphere.

Deborah M.

Yelp
We had dinner at Stars last night. Our server was Camille. So pleasant. Very accommodating. Food was delicious and the service was awesome. Very reasonable and a great menu. Definitely recommend.

John H.

Yelp
Decent food, great service. We went for dinner on Saturday night, and it wasn't too busy. The ambience was that of a local diner with the booths. The fish tacos were nice. Big portions of hot crispy and well seasoned fish nestled into their tortilla blankets. I just wished they had a marinated slaw instead of the dry slaw. It came with a giant cone of fries. My wife got the turkey burger but it was a bit too charred on the outside so she had to scrape some of it off. The waitress was attentive and the food came out quick. Note they keep the AC cranked up inside so you may want to bring a jacket.

Theresa A.

Yelp
Have t been here in ages but went on a Friday at 6pm. The place was packed but we were able to get seated pretty quickly. Ordered the Buffalo Mac and cheese and they did a great job! It was baked in an individual dish so the top was nice and crispy. The bruschetta it came with was decadent. Lots of families at the hour we went but seems like a good place for anyone. Would definitely go back!

Kadie S.

Yelp
Awesome spot - service is always quick, friendly, and respectful. Food is so good - the tots to start are delicious and the burger is my favorite in the area. Cute casual date spot with really good food and drinks. A staple in the area!

Neil W.

Yelp
We had lunch at Stars in Hingham today and decided to try their salads. I had the Superfood salad and it was extraordinary. My buddy tried the Mediterranean salad and raved about it. Both we delicious and the serving size was beyond our expectations. (see the photos) Hannah was our server and was wonderful. She was attentive, polite, friendly and knew the menu thoroughly. We also appreciated that she didn't hover over us, but knew just the perfect time to see if we needed anything. The menu has a variety of choices and we only waited ten minutes for our salads. This is definitely a restaurant you should try for breakfast, lunch or dinner. When you're done, the harbor is just across the street for a good walk and beautiful views. Enjoy!

M P.

Yelp
Fantastic service. The bartender Hannah was one of the beat I've ever had! Highly recommend!

Philip K.

Yelp
Sunday brunch with friends from Tokyo and food was decent but noise level was extremely high. Maybe it was our bad luck but it seemed like we were at a nursery school just before lunch time. And the sound just bounces off the wall here. The hostess was friendly and it was super busy as expected but we felt rushed by our server who put the bill on the table before we'd all finished eating.

Carlos H.

Yelp
Food-I had breakfast - the best home fries I ever had in my life. Instead of rye bread , I had their corn bread- it was absolutely delicious, ( mine you I hate corn bread) The coffee was delicious, my eggs over easy made to perfection , challah French toast - again the best I ever eaten. Bacon nice and crispy. ( I hate bacon that isn't cook all the way through). This is by far the Best Breakfast Place I ever been too, bar none. The service : our waitress was absolutely wonderful. Morgan is a very professional, pleasant, and very knowledgeable about the cuisine. She recommended peppermint, hot chocolate drink that was amazing . Ambiance - a wonder place to visit with friend and family. It was like being at home. A safe place for children and old age like . Great family atmosphere. Parking was available in front of the restaurant. I highly recommend the Stars On Hingham Harbor. A must stop if you are ever in Hull Massachusetts. First time here and I promise it won't be my last . . I understand now why it is call the Star on Hingham Harbor. The food , the service , ambiance are stellar. Sincerely, Carlos M. Huertas Retired Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director

Gale S.

Yelp
Terrible! Customer service - sucks! Special chicken sandwich with "chipoltle" sauce - dry as hell! Certainly not returning!

Rob C.

Yelp
It's been years since we've eaten here. Now, I remember why. Food was meh. The House Roasted Turkey was clearly deli meat. Not good deli meat, either. The server was nice but did not introduce themselves. The noise level was ridiculous and made it difficult to converse. The bar was very loud, and there were children running amok in the dining area. Bad enough, the adults with them said nothing, but the employees didn't intervene either.

Annie B.

Yelp
Stars on Hingham Harbor has been one of my favorites for many years for take out or eat in! Sadly not anymore. A cup of squash soup today's special. Special indeed with pieces of paper. Thought initially onion peels but nope paper. I called and very non-plus stated I could come back and get another soup. When I stated I do not have time and reason I did take out said, " I will let them know"!

Gloria G.

Yelp
Perfect calamari. Many overcook - these were not. Good martini too. Although we saw and would recommend you stay clear of thr tiny $30 lobster roll

Sabrina M.

Yelp
i got food poisoning from their chicken. server and atmosphere were nice, but now im vomiting

Paul K.

Yelp
Always a descent breakfast. I love the chicken apple sausages. The home fries were great. Service was extremely slow and unfortunately my eggs did not come out like I ordered them. If I had more time and service was quicker I would have asked for them to correct it.

Larry L.

Yelp
You often have to wait; it's worth it. I'm an eggs Benny guy and I go back for more. I like I can get a Bloody Mary. Been there, it is a good destination stop.

Breandain K.

Yelp
Great spot for breakfast with the family or evening drinks with friends. Always has a great crowed and friendly service. Highly recommended.

Jessica B.

Yelp
YUM! This is a neat little spot. I've been here several times over the years and never had a bad meal. There's usually a wait and I can understand why... My husband and I recently had a fantastic breakfast here on a busy Saturday morning. I ordered the Country Breakfast while my husband had french toast, eggs, bacon and sausage. Everything on my plate was perfect. Three over-easy eggs were plenty (most places only give you two). Homefries were amazing - well seasoned and super crispy without being burnt/overdone. Sausage was plump and juicy. They definitely were not your average frozen sausage links that some places serve. I think the cornbread and beans may have been my favorite part! Cornbread was fluffy and flavorful. Baked beans were surprisingly "light" tasting and not over loaded with sugars, etc. I couldn't get enough of them! I also had a piece of my husband's french toast as he had three thick giant slices. It was exactly how french toast should be - soft, sweet and comforting. I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order here. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

L D.

Yelp
Fair at best . Mac and cheese was good. Restrooms and carpet were dirty . Service just ok . Lots of people standing around doing nothing.

Nicole P.

Yelp
Plenty of seating, no over the top theme, and just darn good food. Why do the breakfasts come with baked beans? I'll never know. Last time I was there I got eggs over medium and something about them was extra delicious. Maybe fresh eggs, maybe the way they were cooked. They only take reservations for parties over 5 people. There is a nice bar area, and sports on the several tvs. Will definitely continue to eat at this establishment.

Ariana L.

Yelp
This place is delicious! They've made huge strides. The food is even somewhat elevated. We were really Impressed with the food. We went for breakfast. Highly recommend the smash hash! The service is really fast. They have a lovely view of the harbor. Go for breakfast lunch or dinner!

Robert R.

Yelp
It's a diner. So all things equal, it's a very nice diner. Big menu, food good. Went for BK simple scrambled eggs , etc. 4.0

Neil W.

Yelp
Going to Stars? Bring your appetite and be ready for a delicious feast! We've been coming here since 1995 and are always happy with the food, service and atmosphere. - Neil Wood Ask for Hannah to be your server. Great attitude, friendly, attentive and knows the menu.

Sherena B.

Yelp
Second time eating Stars. The first time was take out. Ordered: bacon, egg, cheese on bagel. Do not recommend, the bagel was stale and did not taste fresh. Also ordered the clam bake Benedict, it was great was just a tad annoyed I asked for regular homefries and still got sweet potato homefries. Now here comes why I will not come back. There was a huge bug next to us in the booth. The waitress just stared at it. I felt they should have tried to get rid of it. Also there were multiple flies. To continue there was a guy... may have been the manager or owner that has a beard that went to his employees and said "which one of you nit wits turned the AC down to 68?" I thought that was very rude. No wonder why they all were miserable. Also the place gets busy so it would make sense of why it should be 68. Lastly, the food. It's mediocre at best. Ordered the clam bake Benedict as normal. It didn't come with hollandaise... that's what makes a Benedict a Benedict.... The owner needs to stop hiring children and get some experienced staff or do sufficient training.

Christine B.

Yelp
Delicious cocktails and yummy breakfast. Very enjoyable. Great view and lovely staff.

Tom C.

Yelp
Consistently the best breakfast on the south shore. Everything on the menu is great. Try the corned beef hash, pancakes, or Benedict and you'll be happy with any of them.

Robert A.

Yelp
Food good - staff very good PROBLEM FREEZING COLD asked if they could change - sorry No - - bring a heavy sweater!! I will not be back

Rita D.

Yelp
I was very disappointed with the food at Stars. The calamari was salty and had to many peppers and jalapeños. The lobster roll was not fresh. The lobster was hard and had a lot of lettuce mixed in. Not worth the money. I do have to say the service was good. The waitress was why I gave it 3 stars.

Ray L.

Yelp
Growing up down the road I always love a good old stars trip. Just came on here cuss I ordered the calamari and got more peppers with it than I did calamari, ratio was obnoxious. Be better yo, smh.

Connor D.

Yelp
Clam Chowder: 6.5/10 Buffalo Chicken wontons: 10/10 Fried Chicken BLT: 10/10 Food was really good, however the waiter was somewhat forgetful. (It was a very busy day, so not a big deal!)

John T.

Yelp
Have only went for breakfast. Opened the place this mornings. Another great meal. Real food prepared perfectly! By far the best breakfast in the Hingham area! Keep it coming! And we will too!

Larry D.

Yelp
ORDER THE SOFT PRETZELS. And I don't care if you're allergic to gluten! 2 stars for the pretzel, one star for strong beer menu, one star for a cool bartender. Girl boss. Saddened by the lobster roll, was a little fishy. But you can't win them all!

Damien S.

Yelp
No star change, but a definite public service announcement: the Beyond Burger has landed at Stars' kitchen, and it gets rock solid treatment as a "bleeding" plant-based alternative to their meatier eats. Any burger can get the patty swap for a Beyond, but the menu listing for their signature showcase features pepper jack, avocado, pickled red onion and a little drizzle of balsamic on their signature Fireking bun. The whole thing ends being a potent punch of the unique parts, but they come together fairly harmoniously. Twelve bucks for a filling, trendy fauxburger and you get a side! Pair it with a local and/or craft beer from their line of 20 rotating drafts, and maybe some Tuesday night trivia for a midweek reprieve, sans beef.
