"Starving Artist, Saint Clair West by Equal Parts Studio. The second location of the well known Toronto brunch spot and mecca of waffles. It's a busy restaurant with a waffle option for every taste. You're into savoury potato waffles? They got you. You're in the classic sweet stuff? They got you. Brunch? With Eggs? Lunch? Dinner? They. Got. You! And while you're enjoying your food you can also stare at waffle art on the wall. Vegan and gluten free options available."

I come here all the time because it's close. The only problem I have with this restaurant is that the service is extremely slow. On the weekends especially, really to find a seat so you'd have to wait approximately 15 to half an hour. Taking the order sometimes was a hit or miss they will come quickly and sometimes will take really long but one thing is consistent is that the food takes forever to get to the table. There are times I waited half an hour to 45 minutes for 2 orders of eggs and Benny on a weekend. Weekdays it'd not too bad but it'd still longer than what I'm. Used to. The food is great the space is nice and clean, I just wish their service with a lot better

Have been here several times. Menu is obviously focused on waffles but with plenty of delicious options and drinks. Most plates with with salad and fruits or option of beans or potato salad. They also have a substitution menu which is a great added option. It's a nice size but still a busy one, in the summer they have a nice small patio. My first time here we did wait quite a while for a table and food, the staff did warn us and we're very apologetic. Otherwise we've gotten in almost immediately every one time- perhaps we've just been lucky. We noticed that there are always kids and plenty of babies around but never any issues! It's great to know it's family friendly for the future. Lastly, they showcase and sell local art which is always a plus.

We finally got to have brunch at Starving Artist and it’s everything we expected and more. We were lucky that we got a table right away, but it was a snowy morning and not as busy. Service was fast and friendly, ambience is very nice and welcoming. Portions are big and everything we’ve tried was so flavourful! Between the two of us we’ve tried the spicy chicken waffle, the grilled cheese waffle and for dessert, we split a blueberry and ice cream (mini) waffle. WOW! So good! Only downside is the cash only policy.

I really wanted to like this place and give it a good review but I have to tell the truth and sadly this place fell short. The service was slow and something happened to our order because after waiting 20mins to order our food, it took another 25 mins for our meals to come. Thats quite a long time to wait for breakfast food. After a long wait, not one of us enjoyed our meals. The waffles were light and fluffy but everything was bland and lacked any flavour. My husbands spicy chicken waffles (pictured here) tasted like they were those pre-cooked chicken stripes from No Frills. Its such a shame because the restaurant was busy and it has a nice vibe.

Such an awesome place to hang out with good food and friends. I love the bright cozy atmosphere. The menu is vast and diverse with something for everyone. Service is fast, food is delicious. We had the churros waffles and I liked how it wasn't overly sweet! The side salad is great and you have a choice of side fruit salad, potato salad or maple baked beans. So this is great value for your money. I highly recommend this place.

This place feels like you're at a casual party. Couples, families, kids and sometimes cute babies work the abundant waffle options with smile and obvious enjoyment. Wait staff is attentive and reasonably fast and the prices are on the good side. Busy between 11 and 3, $$.

Delicious little place for brunch. I like how they incorporate waffles into everything! Overall, food and service are good. The only thing is that there is usually a line up to get seated so I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're looking for a quick bite.

The Starving Artist - with 7 locations and lines to the door - is starving no more. And I fear it's popularity has impacted the quality of service. Crowded, noisy, rushed - I watched one table have it's food order taken back to the kitchen three times as I waited 15 minutes just to get the beverages delivered and my Eggs Benny were served with overcooked eggs and a undercooked waffle. I have enjoyed The Artist in the past - maybe a bad day, maybe staff called in sick but this was not a satisfying adventure but Dad did demolish his dessert waffle! If you looking for a cozy place to brunch on weekends, the place is not it - too noisy, too popular - try late in the afternoon or find a Cora's.
