What was once a Farmer’s Market is now 1/2 food vendors and very expensive pastries and it also includes a produce booth that the cult “The 12 Tribes” has. If you don’t know about The 12 Tribes look them up and you’ll be shocked. Their booth gives off a very creepy vibe and this will definitely keep me from going there again. Every produce booth is so expensive, yes I know it’s local grown but come on $3.99 a lb for a tomato that weighs more than 1.5 lbs.

Google
Or as I like to call it.. CARLSBAD Farmer Market. So..of the farmers markets in our North San Diego area, I really enjoy this one. I find the quality and number of Organic and small farms offer competitive pricing and at the same time bring to the forefront really high quality vegetables and produce. But, we also go the the Fench Sandwhich Maker, we buy Bread, Chimmichuri, Mushroom varieties, hand made pizzas. We search for stuff you cant find in the stores. All while enjoying the beach vibe. They have foods stands that make all sorts of stuff from all sorts of places, the store fronts are open if you want to shop or get a beer.. When we go our Ocenaside home, we always shop here first and feel really good about the food we get and eat well at home. Love love love

The State Street Farmers Market is hands down one of the best local markets around! The vibe is super welcoming—lots of friendly vendors, fresh produce, and unique local goods you don’t find in big grocery chains. Everything feels community-driven, from the seasonal fruits and veggies to the baked goods, flowers, and artisanal products. What I love most is the variety—you can grab farm-fresh strawberries, try out small-batch honey, snack on street food, and even pick up handmade crafts, all in one visit. It’s not just a market; it’s an experience. The live music and lively atmosphere make it a perfect midweek outing, whether you’re shopping for groceries or just strolling with family and friends.

Google
I absolutely LOVED this Farmer's Market!!! I can't wait to go back!! I bought soaps, organic tea, and will be back for fresh seafood, fruits and vegetables, olives, pumice and more! Definitely recommend coming here. It's every Wednesday.

Google
What a cool experience and great way to get to know the local brands, stores, and food. I met some great people along the way and experienced some good food!!! The grilled cheese king was amazing!

Google
Nice collection of vendors. Produce was not cheap, but high quality.

Google
Awesome market! Great produce and delicious food. There are a lot of great stores that you can shop in as well. The Goods donut shop is a must, absolutely delicious!

Google
Great farmers market. Lots of fresh vegetables with a huge selection. Goodies are everywhere with fresh cooked food from many nationalities and continents. Lots of fun trying some of the food.

Yelp
Quickly becoming a Wednesday tradition for our family; love the Carlsbad Village Market! Although sometimes it's a bit on the pricier side, I love coming here for the food booths and grabbing some delish eats for the beach. Our fave is the Ghana food, but you can also find xiao long bao, Thai, and all sorts of other delicious things. We've gotten the Kefir Yogurt a few times and some of the fruit/veggie options, but it's definitely on the pricier side; so while I'd love to be able to do all my grocery shopping here; I just couldn't afford to. If you're in the area, definitely scope out this Wednesday evening gem in Carlsbad!

Yelp
Our new neighborhood farmers market! Quite a diverse selection of fresh produce and fun treats- weekly on Wednesday they close off a portion of State street and back to back booths set up amongst the shops and restaurants. I love that most everything is homemade and you can find a lot of variety even meats, fish and cheeses as well as cookies and pastries and bread. It's def on the pricier side as all farmers markets are pricier than grocery stores in the US (I find this odd) but we absolutely love coming here when we need dinner on a Wednesday night. The last few weeks we have been getting the sweet chicken plates from Rafikiz traditional Kenyan food and our 1 year old loves it! The chef only sells at farmers markets and was kind enough to give her her own plate. It's so tasty! The grapes have also been one of my favorite treats here, they are $7 but only survive a day in our household, they really are the best grapes you'll ever eat. I enjoy perusing for free samples and getting the kefir yogurt as well ($8). Next on my list is the zucchini sauce from get.sauc.d and some fresh flowers for the kitchen table! I am not sure about the parking bc we are lucky enough to be able to walk, but it runs early afternoon to evening for plenty of traffic flow.

Yelp
Love the weekly Carlsbad farmers Market! Not too busy each week and it's clean, people respect the area and clean up after themselves. The organic produce is amazing and varied by vendors. It's worth the price since you're buying directly from the farmer. I'm trying to eat seasonally and this is a great place to get my weekly fruits and veggies.

Yelp
If you're looking for a foodie's farmers market more so than a traditional farmers market, then this is your place. Yes, there are a handful of produce stands and the usual crafts, olive oils, baked goods, mail order meat services, but the Carlsbad Village Farmers Market does one thing better than most: their food tents! This is the place if you want cheap ethnic street food. The vendor lineup includes all sorts of great stuff, from traditional farms to vegan goods. Oranges, apples, avocados, lettuce, artichokes, squash, roasted nuts and nut butters, honey, fresh bee pollen, fudge, coffee, oatmeal, all sorts of organic designer mushrooms, fresh raw seafood, hummus, homemade Kefir yogurt and butter, fresh pressed juices, free range chicken and eggs, berries, herbs, artisan goat cheese, homemade pasta, and all types of cookies, pastries and breads were on offer the day we visited. There are tons of vegan options, gluten free options, low carb options, soy free and sugar free offerings too, so folks with special dietary requirements can rejoice! You will not feel left out here. Note that some of the vendors rotate each week, so check the market's website to make sure you won't miss your favorites. We made a few purchases, including fresh strawberries, a fresh green juice blend, a container of vegan nut cheese, and a miniature sugar free apple pie. Everything was yummy and perfect to snack on while driving down the road. This is a terrific place to grab lunch at any of the hot food stands too, and most of the vendors specialize in ethnic street foods (Indian, Ethiopian, Mexican, Korean, Spanish, Philippino, etc.). I purchased a small portion of freshly made paella that was delicious! Note that parking is scarce so it's better to park a few blocks over and walk. Definitely worth a stop if you enjoy street markets.

Yelp
Took a afternoon stroll and found this Farmer's market. There were so many organic vegetables and fruits. I would able to grab some tarts and croissants from Chaupain Bakery. The gentleman helping me was so kind and even offered my a sample of his breads. I purchased some vegan macaroons from a very nice woman. The Cookie Monster and pistachio were my favorites.Lastly got a few free books from the local Library at the Farmer's Market. It was a beautiful day and the market. I love seeing all the people supporting small businesses.
google avatar

Thomas M.

Yelp
I come here for regional and locally sourced vegetables and fruits. Some of the freshest vegetables unless you grow your own. In addition, there are bakeries, flower stands and restaurant tents. Bring cash; only way to pay with most. Some accept Apple Cash, etc. Hopefully more will go towards a form of contactless payment. Typical food market atmosphere. Tip: If you like super delicious tomatoes and in season vegetables, the stand at the far north-west corner, is the place to go. Super nice, 5-Stars, couple at this stand and willing to answer any questions.

Yelp
It's in a middle of the week and not too crowded. Pet friendly and also friendly people seems the regular customers and local were there. Vendors are also very friendly. Fresh food and fruits. Breads of all kind and they are good. Got some bun from House of bao.. the chicken are delish.
google avatar

Nikki P.

Yelp
What a treat! I hadn't been to this FM in years and I am delighted by how its grown but at the same time stayed pretty much exclusively "foodie!" Great cheeses, gf breads, and kits of produce. Small businesses unite! I love it and will be back!
google avatar

Trista W.

Yelp
I miss this Farmer's Market. I miss The Mushroom Guy. This is where Bitchin' Sauce began! (Imagine my surprise finding it in Joshua Tree and then Rockford, IL!) You can go here and get everything you need for the week, minus flours for baking. Someone should get on that. Park back by Succulent. You're welcome.
google avatar

Elisa G.

Yelp
We come all the way down here from south OC for this fantastic farmers market!! We love the mushroom booth and all the samples! Dry dock fish company is here too. Amazing
google avatar

Ella M.

Yelp
Carlsbad farmers market is one of my absolute favorites in north county! I love all of the vendors and the rotating options. There are not only amazing food and produce choices but artisan items as well! I find everyone to always be friendly and welcoming. There are tons of samples and unique things to try. The vibes here are laid back and easygoing, I always grab a smoothie and hit the fair!
google avatar

Jenna S.

Yelp
We have been to the Farmers Market a few times now and have been happy with our experience each time. All of the vendors are very friendly and there is a wide variety of offerings. Our favorite things include Goldies Popcorn, Just Bananas, and the cheesecakes. But you can't really go wrong with anything. The Village association has also been super friendly when we interact with them. They were so welcoming of us to the area! Really love this market of the several I have been to in the area.
google avatar

Keith F.

Yelp
This farmers market is pretty good. They feature a wide range of products ranging from local produce to slightly obscure offerings. During my visit I was able to buy some organic Thai spices, some fresh draft kombucha, dried cherries, pomegranates, and some fresh pastries. Most of the prices were reasonable. I didn't find anything that screamed deals, but it wasn't outrageous either. If I was a local I would definitely come here often.
google avatar

Eric K.

Yelp
Great farmer's market. Wide variety of fruits and veggies combined with fish vendors, herbal vendors and a variety of other food items. Not large. In Carlsbad Village so parking is around the area. I imagine the local businesses enjoy the added foot traffic. Nice that it's a Wednesday afternoon, so it doesn't compete with the other Saturday morning markets.
google avatar

Jan K.

Yelp
Love coming down here every Wednesday night, plenty of fresh veggies & fruit.... plants, organic items, all kinds of flavored honey, fish and fresh bread.... wear your mask or you won't get in.... some stands will not let you pick out your own items and some do not accept cash. But whatever the rule for each stand the owners will try to accommodate your needs. Great afternoon on State street Shop local!
google avatar

Denise B.

Yelp
Love everything about this place. Food, service, view, and location. Been going for years. A favorite in North SD! The Lobster ravioli and seafood lasagna are to die for. Everything delicious. Every y at when we spend the week in Carlsbad, this place is a #1 on our go to list.
google avatar

Katy G.

Yelp
Awesome vendors, family and pet friendly environment! Smaller than expected but cute and not overcrowded and right by the beach to enjoy your goodies!!
google avatar

Lori R.

Yelp
Small but cute farmers market. Just a block in Carlsbad near the village. Mostly fruits and veggies and a handful of food vendors. Access is tricky, not many openings except at one end. It was hard to navigate with a stroller. If you're on foot it's easier. I wasn't blown away by the variety either, pretty basic with a few cute things here and there. I wouldn't go there over the Oceanside market closer to home. Can't say I love it, just ok.
google avatar

Lei G.

Yelp
Always game to check out a farmers market. This one was a small one, but lots of great local produce & goods. Picked up some tasty pastries and some fresh juices. It's worth a trip to check it out.
google avatar

Tracy S.

Yelp
Love Farmer's markets. This one is good but on the is smaller side. This is in a bit of a crowded space and there is no where to sit and eat. Plan to take it to go.

Phillip A.

Yelp
Great walk every week to pick up some fruits, veggies, and some are just huge. Also vendors with eats... for dinner or maybe later. Not to forget some bakery breads and pastries
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
Amazing Delicious Food Fresh Vegetables Beautiful Fresh Flowers close to the beach what else can you ask for. Support Carlsbad Local Vendors

Yelp
Whenever I come down to Carlsbad I always love to visit the farmers market to get some local produce and delicious gluten-free snacks! They are open on Wednesday's from 3pm-6pm and take up the block on State street. Parking can be difficult sometimes, but there is a great lot only a block down which is easy enough to walk to the market from. I'm obsessed with the Bisogno noodles! They are gluten-free, vegan, and non-GMO. My favorites are the garlic and spinach flavors. There are also stands with hummus, juices, fudge, and food vendors! Even though it is small, you still get a variety of things to try! The prices all range depending on the stand, but they aren't outrageous. I really love Island Girl Bakes gluten-free banana bread! They have a bunch of other breads and pastries as well, all gluten-free! We took my niece and nephew and they really enjoyed it (especially the free samples)! If you're staying in Carlsbad, I definitely recommend checking out the market because you never know what treasures you'll discover!
google avatar

Yelp
Wednesday's from 4-7. This is a great excuse to stroll downtown Carlsbad village. Half are true farmers stalls with fruits and veggies. The other half has vendors that sell fish, tamales, fruit leather, gourmet dog treats, bread, and more. Some vendors change week to week, but it seems fairly consistent. This is popular, so expect a good number of people in the summer.
google avatar

AJ K.

Yelp
Really nice farmers market. They cram a lot of stalls into a small strip of street, so it has a wide variety of items. There was more prepared food stalls than I'm used to seeing but all in all there was a nice assortment of fruits and vegetables.
google avatar

Shong H.

Yelp
Love farmer's markets and adding this to my list! It is small enough to not overwhelm you but big enough where you can find all, if not most, of what you need. They have fresh veggies, fruits, nuts, and flowers. They have samples available at mostly all the stands. Owners are all friendly, welcoming, and nice to converse with as well as answer questions you may have. There is a section of hot food stands that you can order from as well as desserts! My faves are the humus and hot jamz booth! Please don't stop coming here because I will be sad. Open Weds, 3pm to 6pm.

Ann B.

Yelp
What a fun place! We love the guy who sells the fish -- Jason. Try his salmon, mussels, had Branzino last week. Several stalls of great local veggies. And yes, great bread and bakery goods. Dog-friendly, plenty of free parking. Can get crowded. Opens at 2:30 every Wednesday.
google avatar

Gabbi W.

Yelp
Great Farmer's Market. It's along State Street in Carlsbad Village. Although small, they have a good selection of vendors. There's several vendors that I haven't seen at other local Farmer's Markets either, so that's awesome. Wonderful location, friendly vibe, great products!
google avatar

Ann B.

Yelp
Great farmer's market with lots of delicious fresh produce. We got a couple heads of produce items and they tasted so fresh. This farmer's market had a lot of stalls as well, so many good choices to pick from. I like that most of the stalls were selling food, as opposed to some so called farmer's market that seem more like swap meets in that they sell more non food items (like arts and crafts). I was quite surprised there were so many people there, making me wonder, it's 3p on a Wed, does anyone work in this area?
google avatar

Lindsey P.

Yelp
I always look forward to the Wednesday afternoon farmer's market Carlsbad has to offer. They close State Street (between Carlsbad Village & Grand Ave) and set up their booths lining both sides of the street. It's a small market, but it's a good one! Current hours are from 3-6 but starting with the March 15, 2017 market they will be open from 3-7. PARKING - Limited street parking, or you can use one of the free lots nearby. A personal favorite of mine is to park at the Coaster Station. It's less than a block away and you can leave your car safely, for free. Of course, you can #liveauthentic and ride your bike like a local. There are tons of places to chain up nearby. --FAVORITES-- HAPPY PANTRY - TGIF (Thank Goodness It's Fermented) is my absolute favorite vendor at the market. We make weekly trips to pick up their beet liver/blood tonic and artisan sour kraut. They're so friendly too! :) You can check out their site here: http://www.happypantrysd.com/ ORGANIC PRODUCE - There are multiple vendors where you can get local organic vegetables and fruit, farm-fresh. All at reasonable prices from my experience. MUSHROOMS - Yes, there is a booth that just sells mushrooms. It's amazing when people dedicate so much energy to being really good at one thing. High quality, rare varieties can be found here, and always get great help from the friendly people who work here (sorry, I can't remember their name, but they're the only mushroom booth there!) You can also pick up fresh fish, artisanal bread, handmade chocolates and desserts, plants, cut flowers, and prepared food. Now that Barrel Republic has opened, most cruise the Farmer's Market and stop in for a snack and a drink. All-in-all, not a bad little farmer's market. Are there larger ones around San Diego? Yes. But I live locally and like buying/staying local whenever I can. Quality vendors and reasonable prices, will return!
google avatar

Laura D.

Yelp
Just happened to be in the area 'cause I took Joey for a bath, so we stopped in to check out the Wed afternoon farmer's market. They were just setting up and not all the stands where there, but I got a delicious slice of flan from one of the stands. There were some beautiful crepes being cooked at one stand, but there were already people waiting on line, so decided not to deal with it. The produce looked absolutely wonderful here, big, bright, colorful delicious fruits and veggies. There was a tamale stand, and even a gift stand. I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Aimee A.

Yelp
Love, love, love this market. We got in season veggies, farm fresh eggs, spices, bread and a raw green smoothie. Glad I ventured out and visited this market in addition to the Oceanside market. This one seems less crowded and the vendors had more time to chat and educate.

Jeff K.

Yelp
Whether you?re in town visiting or have lived in Carlsbad for may years, try something different and head over to the Carlsbad Farmers? Market in downtown Carlsbad Village. Find fresh, and locally-sourced produce, amazing fruits, vegetables, meats, art, and custom products from your own local merchants! https://sandiegohomevalues.com/carlsbad-farmers-market/ FOX 5 News interviewed Christine Davis, the executive director of the Carlsbad Village Association. Christine said they are reopening little by little and will start with 26 vendors. By taking baby steps, the Association will ensure that reopening is done safely for everyone who attends. Be sure and stop by on Wednesday nights and support our local Carlsbad businesses!
google avatar

Nijole T.

Yelp
Tiny but nice assortment of vendors, good set up with food on one half and decor and home items on the other. All local businesses which i always love to support, very nice selection and the prices are fair. Delicious bread, beautiful flowers and fantastic desserts is what I was lucky enough to find here yesterday. The hours are every Wednesday from 3-6 during the winter and until 7 pm in the summer. Not worth driving out of your way for since it is very small, but a nice stop if you happen to be in the area. They also have a large free parking lot a block away which makes it very easy and pleasant if you are from out of town.
google avatar

Deanna N.

Yelp
This is the cutest little farmer's market that I ever did see! It's not super packed at all and there is parking all around the area and it's nice to walk a little too because there is so much to see. This market has everything that a normal big market would have. They had: hummus, beef jerky, food, plants, produce, jewelry, holistic drinks, fudge, nuts, and so much more! I really enjoyed walking it and checking out the local restaurants nearby too! There are so many boutiques in that area if you are up for a little window shopping as well. Will definitely be back on Wednesday's even if it's just to walk around.
google avatar

Kathy K.

Yelp
Short easily walkable farmers market. Suggest you come earlier to enjoy the shops in Carlsbad Village and get a good parking spot. Fruits and vegetables were beautiful and priced well. Great buys on gorgeous arrangements of fresh flowers. Several food venders with places to sit and enjoy a bite while you people watch. There was a long line for the fresh homemade bread stand. Friendly fun way to spend a few hours
google avatar

Tami L.

Yelp
I love coming on Wednesdays for the vibe, fresh fruit and other goodies. It's a small market they close State from Carlsbad Village to Grand Ave. but they pack the goodies in. If you haven't been, come check it out and support these sellers.
google avatar

Danny W.

Yelp
It's not going to take home first in the Farmer's Market Awards or anything, but I dig this small but efficient gathering of local vendors on Wednesdays in the Carlsbad Village. As others have said, it's not going to dazzle you with it's produce options, but I hardly ever actually buy produce from a farmers market anyways. I'm usually there for a few free samples, a beer at a bar on the street, (Barrel Republic) a tamale or similar style street food, and some fudge for dessert. It's got all of those boxes checked and they even have live musicians on occasion as well. In comparison so some others in town it's not going to blow you away, but if you love this area then you'll be all about it.
google avatar

Kk N.

Yelp
I absolutely love this farmers market. Fabulous and fresh fruits and veggies and I always love getting cute little succulents and fresh flowers. Parking is never a problem and it's never over crowded. I always enjoy the vendor assortment and fine everyone to be friendly and helpful. Great experience overall.
google avatar

Jinyoung C.

Yelp
Carlsbad Village Farmer's Market is okay. It was a good variety of vegetables, fruits, and vendors, but not much else. For variety, I prefer going to the Vista farmer's market. These days, you can't go in without wearing a mask, but there are volunteers who do pass around masks just in case you happen to leave yours behind.
google avatar

Bonnie G.

Yelp
Tiny tiny tiny...did I mention tiny? There were 3 produce stands, a few food vendors, the fudge lady, 1 flower stand, 1 bread stand, and 1 oyster/lobster stand. 3 produce stands for a farmer's market? That's just sad. I left with 5 tangelos, an empty stomach, and a broken heart.
google avatar

Walter M.

Yelp
I want to like this Market because there are quite a few vendors who bring fresh, organic, local produce with more the emphasis on vegetables than fruits, but there are actually very few fruit vendors here. Besides oranges, berries and maybe handful of other fruits you don't get the variety for a 1 stop shopping experience. It just doesn't have the identity of a farmer's market. 1 guy selling lobster slipper tails 10 for $20, 4 vegetables & fruit stands, kettle corn, a Thai Burger grill, a greek grill, a sauce & dip vendor, some handmade clothing and apparel stands, a hot sauce guy, a woman singing opera (beautiful, nice touch). I had too high expectations coming here so many years back thinking it would have the variety of the Vista markets, but the high end class of the Encinitas/Solana Markets, but really falters. I actually like the hot sauce and the lobster tails and the prices on the produce, but sometimes you want scones and coffee, and fruits you don't see everyday. Seafood would be nice and a variety of it would be better. It makes sense to hold an early afternoon market, but the ideal market does morning shopping on Saturdays or midweek after work. None of them accept cc's which is strange.

Yelp
Love coming the Carlsbad Farmers market! It is on Wednesday afternoons until 6pm in the fall and winter, and it stays open until 7pm during the summer months. They have State Street lined up with a number of vendors that offer cooked food, freshly picked fruit/veggies, home style pastries and lots of flowers and plants. I tend to get really sweet oranges and strawberries from the fruit vendors when they are in season. One of the best items at this market are the individual cup sized cheesecakes from California Cheesecakes In A Cup. Absolutely amazing goodness in a guilt-less sized cup that you can take home and put in the freezer. They have a variety of flavors from coffee to peanut butter to cookies & cream. Best one? Blueberry and strawberry cheesecake with graham cracker crust. My only gripe is that they only have one block of vendors. While I wish it was a little bigger, there is always something you can take home.
google avatar

William H.

Yelp
This a small, pleasant farmer's market in the Village of Carlsbad open every Wednesday afternoon. As most farmer's markets there's always something interesting or yummy to be found. Two vendors of note that we adore: - The plant vendor (he's usually on the far end of the aisles) Lots of good plants, some unusual ones too, and fair prices. -Max's Honey. WE LOVE MAX'S HONEY! Great stuff. 5-stars no doubt. It's locally harvested and delicious. Ask for a taste! Don't miss their premium Sage Honey, it's heavenly. Big fans of Max's Honey here. Oh, and there's usually a cool kettle-corn vendor there. Good stuff. As always, plenty of lovely fresh locally grown produce too. Check it out, it's worth the stroll.

Yelp
I liked the farmer's market before the relaunch complete with new day and time. After the relaunch I'm still a fan. It is still mostly real food and that's what I love. I've been to a few too many "farmers' markets" that are really just craft fairs with mini food trucks. Don't get me wrong, I like those too but where is the produce, eggs, meat etc? State street is probably already my favorite area of downtown cbad so it's rad that they moved it here. I love relm, vigiluccis, swirlicious, jayden presleigh, the chocolate bar and the home of the train beer and that's all already there before the market. Today I picked up some persimmons, squash, zucchini and a few coasters of local beaches made by a local artist. The gyros, cheese steaks and salads looked amazing but I already had dinner plans. It's cool that they have musicians and artists now and people watching is always awesome. Where would people wearing snakes, people with large birds, and people who push dogs in strollers go to be seen if it weren't for farmers markets?!? Now that summer is over, I no longer have to fight the crowds of tourists to taste local fare and just get to enjoy a pleasant evening near home.
google avatar

Amber M.

Yelp
What this market lacks for in size it makes up for in quality. So many amazing things! The indian food can be smelt immediately, the music is happy and fun, the people are generally really nice too. So much amazing and good priced produce and baked goods and definitely walk around carlsbad outside of the market you'll love all the little shops and restaurants
google avatar

Garima C.

Yelp
Loved this cute little farmers market. Do try the cheese and salami from Small Goods, the vendors were super nice and educative. It's small as compared to the little Italy farmers market but has vendors of all kinds! I will be back!
google avatar

Miranda R.

Yelp
Nice variety of organic produce, treats and natural products. This farmers market isn't huge, but I like that it's quaint and not packed. It's got everything you need. It's awesome to have the opportunity to support local businesses that have quality products.

Yelp
Always great people and great products, if your close to it you should stop. Every Wensday 3 to 6 PM.
