Having resided at Statesman II SR APTS for 11 months, it has been greatly disappointing. We have had severe leakage in our master bedroom , huge seepage circles that have not been repaired , causing myself to file a disability discrimination charge with HUD. I ask to be placed , due to my numerous disabilities, and especially because I have since developed Asthma from the leakage , mold ( also in bathroom badly) ,to a simple motel/ hotel room , and they would not help me. They were also cited several times by the building inspector of Shaker Heights for not fixing the leakage. It will be soon a year and nothing has been done EXCEPT, we received 3 letters threatening to evict us for not allowing maintenance to repair , without taking in my health issues, of which I provided 3 doctors letters , including my pulmonary specialist letter , stating I need away from the mold , now!
Meanwhile, the blatant drug dealing and usage of two felons , in two different apartments , has been going on since our move in date 2/22/2022. Day and night, too many cars pulling up in our back parking lot, to buy drugs. One Felon wasn’t even on the lease but lived with his mother , while she collected HUD subsidies for only herself., and he received Soc Sec disability checks each month. The Felon son , threatened our lives far too many times for calling the police on him. We wanted our safety ! He currently is in jail for his threats to kill us. The 2nd Felon continues to deal. Management say that he has not been arrested on property fir his nefarious dealings, so they do nothing about him. We provided his police sheet of the past 20 yrs of armed robbery, manufacturing, usage and dealing of drugs, illegal lock picking tools on his person twice, breaking and entering, and yet he still resides here.
We have done everything possible to bring attention to his behavior , but nothing is being done.
Our back building door lock was broken for 9 months, allowing anyone to walk into our building at any time, it was a frightening time. Finally, after contacting authorities at HUD, it is now repaired.
Property manager is rarely on site, anything goes at Statesman II SR APTS., and does!
HUD rental subsidies are great for those low income people, we are those people, but please trust me in this ,lower rent is not worth sacrificing your health, safety, and peaceful enjoyment of where you reside! Nothing!
