Unfortunately we had awful experience on this “Michelin” star restaurant for lunch time. We were not able to find menu online, so expected a clear explanation in restaurant regarding food. However this was not the case. Arriving to the restaurant we received first surprise, at the lunch time they don’t have any regular food (especially the expected level), only sandwiches and starters. With husband together we ordered 4 different positions, and we were so surprised when we received exact the same food, the only difference was meat. So we had 4 times pickles, whole grain bread, beetroot and one frost 1/4 of tomato served together with meatballs, duck and pork ribs. At least waitress could inform that we are ordering the same exact food, but unfortunately she decided not to do it and fully ruin our experience. And the food it self was nothing I mean NOTHING special. So don’t try a luck at lunch time there and do not expect Michelin level.

We had the 10-course menu and it was such a fun and flavorful experience! Our favorites were the «Kremet skalldyrsuppe» and «Sprø østerssopp Gochujang», although each dish was unique with wonderful flavor combinations. The whole course felt so thoughtfully put together, and you could really tell the chefs knew what they were doing. On top of that the service was spot on! The staff were super attentive, always ready to top up our glasses or clear the table without ever feeling intrusive. We also went with the waiter’s recommendation of a German and an Italian beer, which paired surprisingly well with the dishes and added to the experience. It was the perfect place to celebrate me and my girlfriend’s 5th anniversary. We’ll definitely be coming back!

It's a restaurant with a very quiet, pleasant, minimalist atmosphere. The service was extremely pleasant, the staff has a friendly yet very professional and respectful attitude. The food is excellent, not only in presentation, but also in the combination of flavors. Of course we will repeat!

Statholdergaarden no has wonderful selection of Wines and food. We had a very pleasant experience with a 10-course menu with upgraded wine pairing. It is challenging to reserve a table, the alternative is the basement restaurant that seats another 90 people. Recommendable 5 star experience

We had a business dinner, had a long day and long flight, but the dinner was very relaxing. Service: wonderful, waitress explained each food and taken care of all the requests we had. Food: We went for five course menu, simply awesome! Some tweak to the menu was done as I did not want to take sea food. But the food was really good and tasteful. Later we realized five course was bit too much for us :-). Wine: very good wine collection, we took red and white, both was good. Quite costly, but worth. Overall, excellent experience!

The best of the best of the best. Wines were topnotch. Service was spectacularly unbelievable. We came here with high expectations yet we came out with happy souls with full tummy. Just amazing good memories. I strongly recommend this wonderful restaurant. ❤️❤️❤️❤️💯

Excellent restaurant in Oslo. You can definitely feel that it's Statholdergaarden's sister restaurant. Exceptional good value for money. The 10 course tasting menu is excellent. They only serve really high quality of products with pretty good portion. Every single dish was good to delicious, really great combination of flavours, perfect cooking for both fish and meat. Also awesome service. The waiters were really lovely, thank you si much. We really had an amazing time!!! I'll definitely go back again next time I'll pass by Oslo.

Great 10 course menu. Will be posting a review in due course. My personal favourite from the 10 course menu: 1. Tartar 2. Mushroom broth 3. Breast of duck

I dined solo in the cellar and enjoyed the 10 course meal immensely. Walking through the small door, down the steps, surrounded by wine really added to the special atmosphere. I had attentive and kind service, who recommended fabulous wines by the glass to pair with the meal (since I didn't want to splurge on the actual wine pairing). I would say only 2 of the 10 courses lacked in powerful flavor. Overall my palate went on a wonderful journey that included incredible truffle butter and soft bread, flavorful curry empanada, rich and moist beef tartare, a vibrant citrus hollandaise and spring vegetables, a delightful peach sorbet with ice tea, tender and smoky pork with corn purée, and finally a white chocolate mousse with strawberries rhubarb and brioche bread to cap off a perfect evening!!

Wow and Delicious! The restaurant is located in a spacious cellar below its fancy sister restaurant Statholdergaarden. At first I was disappointed that we were eating in the cellar but the food and service far exceeded my expectations. We were encouraged to take time between our meals to enjoy each bit! We enjoyed the wine recommendation Kunstler Pinot Noir Rose, See my attached photo.

Outstanding meal and superb service. It was a beautiful evening outdoors and I debated whether dining indoors was a good idea or not. So happy I chose to dine here. The Tuna Tomato Bullion, Sea Bass with Gnocchi, and Chocolate Bowl were beyond belief. I wanted more of each one!! I highly, highly recommend dining here!

I would say 3.9 overall. Excellent service. Very kind. The food was a hit for 7/10 tasting courses. It was a nice way to taste Norwegian food. The wine pairing was not special.
