Texas A&M University Campus: Where to Eat and Drink Around TAM | Eater Austin

"Located in Bryan’s historic LaSalle Hotel, this intimate bar seems plucked from the French Quarter. The food follows suit with Louisiana greats like jambalaya and gumbo. Don’t get lost in the encyclopedic menu; a gin rickey or gimlet will fit the theme. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Brandon Watson

We came last minute for my birthday celebration. Malcom our server was so welcoming even when walking in for dinner at 9:30 and the kitchen closing at 10. The chef Mathew came out asking how everything was and it was absolutely amazing. I am thoroughly impressed! Drinks, food, service amazing!

Everything was just okay, nothing was great. My party all agreed that none of us were at all impressed by the entrees. The sides ranged from okay to good. Also, they were out of several items and my meal in particular did not look fresh at all. The service was took a long time but they were nice though. The food was overpriced and underwhelming in terms of flavor. I was not impressed at all and likely will not return.

Station 36 Review, December 2024: JJ was a super waiter, and since we were early, the kitchen was speedy. As per the pics below, the food was really good! The Black Manhatten was a treat as was the Thyme After Thyme (Gin). The beer list is ok, but the list of Ryes, Whiskey, Bourbon, and Gin, wow! The menu is short, and that means well executed. We loved their take on the Shishito Peppers was brilliant! Crab toast was tasty (alas only 3 per order). The brisket sandwich was quite good, nice flavor layers. The sweet potato tots (with walnuts!) Was a delicious twist. My wife had the grain bowl, which is rich in flavor, color, and texture. The Mac and Cheese (with brisket) is desert by itself!

Umm, I mean, I don’t even know where to begin. Real talk. Melco is about as top shelf as the specialty Japanese whiskey glistening from above. He was handling a rush of about fifteen people, solo, and still found the time to not only make one of the best quality cocktails I’ve had in some time, but did so with the best attitude and swift attention to detail. And once the rush died down a bit, he circled back and took his time to chop it up with us (clientele) and give us some real good knowledge on the drinks they had available (talked us into—willingly—a couple more cocktails) and man, just had some really great insight into the cocktail culture in the town, but also, that he and his team conjure up in this here establishment. It was no doubt, a beautifully balanced cocktail. Top tier stuff. The Bonvoy is lucky to have a dude like him, and they’d be fools not to keep him around, cuz he’s got the sauce. Bravo Melco. Cheers!

I love this place!! The drinks are top notch and the people are even better. You will not be disappointed with your drink whether you are ordering a simple gin & tonic or a vieux carre, they are all amazing. While the drinks are unbeatable the staff is what really sets this bar apart from the rest, they love what they do and they welcome you like a regular. If you're in College Station and want a good cocktail at a great bar swing by and you won't be disappointed.

Highly recommend going here for their Cajun brunch. We went at 10 on a Sunday and there were very few people there. Service is fast and helpful. We loved the crab cake Benedict and biscuits and gravy with sausage. Coffee was also good! Mimosas are $4. There is a variety of options for all at this funky downtown spot.

Limited selection. Food was good for the breakfast. Service was poor and we were the only ones in the place. Served luke warm water no ice. No tea available. Had to try all the doors before going into the hotel to go in. The host/server was not friendly at all.

Yelp
Great restaurant with great drinks. The appetizers were the best part the pretzel was soft and fluffy, the Brussel sprouts had a great sweet and spicy glaze, and the charcuterie board had everything you could imagine on it. The entrees were good, but the appetizers are what stood out. The drinks were great too, a great ambiance for drinks and appetizers. Service was good, the restaurant is a small space so make a reservation.

Yelp
We had an amazing meal at Station 36! We came on First Friday, and sat outside to enjoy the live music and people watch. We started with the charcuterie board (not pictured, sorry we were hungry and we forgot, haha!). The board was absolutely delicious! We had a 1928 Margarita and a Time after Thyme, both were great! We shared the burger, and the chicken sandwich along side waffle fries, sweet potato tots, and the MAC AND CHEESE! Definitely splurge for the burnt end Mac and cheese if you have room, it was the best thing we ate! Everything was delicious though! The service was a tad slow, but we understood they were very crowded with it being first Friday. Give this place a try if you're looking for some great food in Downtown Bryan!

Yelp
Expensive and mediocre. Just another hotel restaurant. Could not recommend this to anyone.

Yelp
We had a great experience in Bryan at Station 36 for drinks and appetizers. The staff were so friendly - especially our bartender, JJ! Drinks were amazing and the atmosphere was exceptional!
