The 12 Best Restaurants & Bars In Woodstock, New York 2024

"Station Bar has a pool table, a jukebox, and a fairly large outdoor area with tables where you can drink a beer that was made somewhere in New York. The last time we were here, we discovered our new favorite reggae artist, got invited to a pool party, and met a man named Clark who goes to Station Bar nearly every night. Dog-friendly and people are friendly. Warm and inviting. Small inside, but large outdoor seating with occasional live music in the evenings. Rustic in nature. There's not much food to speak of.... just a short menu, bar food. But check out the amazing views from this place!

Google
Simple ingredients like watermelon, feta and olives or char and lentils have no business being this good. Whatever voodoo the kitchen is employing is working. Absolutely insane dishes from top to bottom. This place is off the charts, cannot recommend enough.

Lucy Bennett

Google
An eclectic bar that is obviously a local hang out. Noisy pool games and weed smokers. On our visit there was one bar man serving on a Friday night. Long queue and blunt service. Cash only!

Harold Levites

Google
I went there yesterday with my sister and her husband and we went later in the evening around 10pm , they service was very slow I went downstairs towards pool table and a woman was snorting white powder off of a book . It made me feel very uncomfortable to see someone openly doing drugs. I wouldn't suggest going there. Bartender was very rude.

Google
Sooo great - this is a must stop! Owners are there often and know their patrons so it feels very homey. Lots of different areas to sit inside and outside. We didn’t eat but had wonderful conversation and craft cocktails.

Google
Bartender needs to learn how to read a state issued NJ ID instead of assuming a 26 year old has a fake. I’m out of town with my girlfriend who found this place, seemed nice from the outside had good reviews. Unfortunately though it felt like we were met with an underlying rude attitude and didn’t belong there the second we sat down at the bar. Ruined the ambiance to say the least and he was visibly frustrated when I paid for her drink ?? What a tool lol . The parking lot should’ve been the first tell tale sign something was off. Awful experience to sum it up , wasn’t there for longer than 8 minutes and was also asked to donate money for a band I had no idea was playing. Politely said I have no cash but that seemed like an issue as well :( One drink and gone ASAP ! Honestly wish I never entered. Ended Woodstock on a bad vibe after a nice day of exploring the town what a shame

Google
Great vibe, friendly staff, quirky environs. Enjoyed their selection of beer and cider. And live music to boot!

Google
The most unique, welcoming, eclectic place I’ve been in a long time...and I travel A LOT! The space, the staff, the customers are all cool AF. Do stop by and ask Lily or Ben for their recommendation on anything you’re thinking will wet your whistle! Enjoy!

Yelp
Such a cool spot... so much ambiance from all the interesting antiques and art, amazing to be sat at the bar having a drink in a real historic train station that had been physically moved twice and saved. Bar tender was such a nice guy to chat with about Woodstock. Definitely going back on a warmer summer day to enjoy the outdoor space and hopefully some live music.

Yelp
Loved this bar! They are very dog and baby friendly. The beer was good. The decor is everything. Even the grilled cheese and hot dog was good. Good amount of indoor space for the winter. Bartender was very nice.

Yelp
Step aboard! This is actually a moveable feast- at least that's how I see it! Station Bar has a long-standing history and yes...the 'Station' was transported from nearby town of Ashokan to where it is now on Tinker St in Woodstock, NY. After walking on 2 very damp Catskill trails and avoiding small talk with two bear hunters, I needed to eat. Station's gravel lot and outdoor patio are both big. And in a time of Crona, picnic benches are plentiful and decently distanced plus there's "indoor" seating- which is more like a huge porch (that's how I thought of it) with Persian rugs hung to keep the elements at bay and heat lamps. Fortunately, the weather after Thanksgiving was mild enough to wait outdoors for our late take-out lunch. Even with the few inside peaks from where we sat on the patio, Station Bar looks cozy and relaxed while Indie music played. My Basil & Honey Grilled Cheese was mind-blowing and hubs enjoyed his hot dog and Potato Chips. These guys have it seriously going on and it clearly shows they consistently deliver simple, naturally good food since they've opened 4 years ago. Hubs and I will just have to sit back next time, sip a cocktail and savor more bites outdoors.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this spot. We went out for drinks one night and had a bar crawl down Tinker St. and this spot was one of the first ones on our list. We loved that they had live music playing and had an equally cool inside as the outside. They also had a great beer selection with lots of local options. We had a great time here!

Philip I.

Yelp
I would move here just to have this place be my neighborhood bar. Every walk of life is here and the vibe is immaculate. Great beers on tap and a straight forward snack menu. The bartender was quick and brought everything out to us which I did not expect. Hit this place

Yelp
Unique, and intriguing; that's the definition of a curio and boy does this dope af bar fit the bill. I ain't from around here but come up often enough, first time really going out in Woodstock for a bit of a night cap; we were struggling to find food after ten around pheonicia when a few places in Woodstock showed promise or at least a glimmer of hope. Station was not one of these places that came up. A place down the road in an awkward spot to say the least seemed to be the best bet but upon arrival there were 0 customers and the place looked closed other than the fact there was a bartender present. We decided to drive back to a place that had people hanging around- enter Station bar and Curio with its more than appropriate name, the first thing we noticed was all the art and awesome vibe of the place, from the music to the pool table, the bar to the couple of private and intimate tables. The next thing we immediately noticed was a small chalked up board with the words "bar food until 12:30" It was in this moment I realized I would not die of starvation. While the options are limited to a few panini pressed selections, it did the trick. They've got hot dogs and grilled cheese. Totally fair and Quite perfect fare for a spot like this- (I may have added one or two more options that I could get away with on a panini press but only because I love this place am I thinking of small ways to improve upon an already amazing spot. Great craft beers, spirits, cocktails, wines, and cool owners/bartenders as well, proof that music and service are at the core of a wonderful time.

Yelp
If you are looking for a spot for drinks and cool vibes and in the Woodstock area, you MUST check this spot out! It's almost towards the end of the main area where all the stores and shops are in Woodstock. I was here for Halloween and they only had outdoor seating. They had picnic tables and chairs spread out and heating lamps. I got to try the match old fashioned and another beverage. During this night, there were 3 locals going around to each restaurant on horseback dressed as the headless horseman. They came charging in and we got to pet the horses and take photos but that was a spectacle and just made my halloween! Such a great spot to check out and might be back soon!

Yelp
First time in today and I promise you this place is worth a stop in. The owner/bartender Lily was not only the sweetest person I've met, but her drinks are the absolute best I've had. If you're in the area do not miss this place, it's a hidden gem.

Yelp
This is the Woodstock hangout according to my friend who invited me up for the weekend. And sure enough we ran into an array of folks at the Station, including a friend whose house we had stopped at before dinner. The old and the young, lovers, family and friends all come together to drink and shoot pool at the Station, while listening to live music. The Saturday night we ended up there was a frigid night but that didn't stop us from sitting outside by the heater, chatting up the smoking folks. To drink, my friend and I had a couple of jalapeño mango margarita-- they were absolute perfection. Thankfully the cocktails were not sweet as I was afraid they would be, and instead were actually spicy in the way of a kick with the nice mix of that mango flavor. We shared the Cuban grilled cheese and it was delish! While this spot is not typical of my usual types of hangouts, it definitely fit the Woodstock vibe. The live band was so a lot of fun, the people watching was decent and the drinks were well-made. I'll be back next time I'm in town.

Gmacd18 ..

Yelp
Weird towny bar. There was live music so we went to check it out. Bouncer (who had a gun on his hip) charged us cover and said it was for the band. Didn't mention that they were literally wrapping up that instant and nobody after us was charged. Oh and air hockey doesn't work don't waste your quarters.

Yelp
Woodstock's funkiest finest hang. The bartenders are matter of fact friendly. The music is warm, the surroundings perfectly grainy. A great place if you want to hang with the locals and hoist a few.

Yelp
FAVORITE PLACE. That is all. Nicest people, best people watching, awesome location.

Yelp
Cute place for a drink. Huge outdoor area for sitting and a beautiful rustic-vintage interior inside. A pool table and lots of interesting rooms and places to sit. I ordered a class of white wine and it was good. Looks like a great place to get together with friends. I was only there for 15 minutes but will be back.
google avatar

Rach S.

Yelp
This was a great bar! There was live music almost every night. There were also board games available and pool. The inside itself is small but there is a large covered outside portion where there are music performers. The only negative for me was there was a lot of smoking outside and I wanted to be near the music.

Rebecca F.

Yelp
Come here for music and drinks. It does have food (a very small menu) but the outside seating is plentiful. And in a Pandemic time that is not a negative. (Inside currently closed for seating.). I small bathroom. We had fancy grilled cheese sandwiches. My sister got a local dry cider she pronounced very tasty and I had one of the best handmade bloody marys I've had in a looonnnggg time. Ps. if you spot some instagram pictures of people sitting on top of the piano and pool table - please shame these people. No masks, climbing over the furniture AND DIDN'T BUY ANYTHING. Seriously rude!

Juan D.

Yelp
Lots of fun here. A great place and a piece of local history as well as a lot of cool stuff and curios. The owners and staff are great, beer is wonderful, and drinks are delish. I personally like happy hour but it doesn't last long enough. (just joking, it's an inside joke). Go and go often but stay outta my seat. And turn yer dang phone off.

Yelp
Great bar for local beers, cocktails and sandwiches/bar bites. The patio is nice and spacious. Live music is regular on the weekends. Highly recommended for an afternoon or late night drink!

Rock S.

Yelp
Great place. Good beer selection. Friendly staff and good music. Nice outdoor space. Worth a visit if in Woodstock.

Yelp
Visiting from New York for a night, Station Bar was an adept reflection of my first experience of Woodstock. Though the bar has only been open a little over a month, it already has a unique local crowd full of friendly regulars willing to strike up a conversation with everyone. The space itself is homey and spacious. A large outdoor area with picnic tables greets you but inside past the initial room with the bar is a room with games and a jukebox, and another with a pool table. Plenty of well-placed decor (including taxidermy) encourages the rustic, authentic vibe throughout the bar. The cocktail list is simple and refreshing; the back bar features small batch liquors in addition to standards. The beer selection and wine are similar - local focused and well curated. Beer seems to be the top beverage and offerings include something for everyone either in a bottle or on tap. I watched as one of the bartenders/owners counseled the man beside me into ordering a kolsch (a style previously unfamiliar to him). He loved the beer and further down the bar another patron counseled the man to avoid hops in beers to enhance his ordering experience. The communal culture at the bar is alive and helpful. The bar is the perfect reflection of Woodstock - locally-driven and community spirited. And there is food.

Mike W.

Yelp
Not so good. My friend told me about this spot in Woodstock and said it was the place to go. I showed up with my girlfriend and a bunch of us were having a really good time. Around 1am we started noticing that the bartenders were getting at least as drunk as the guests. It was all fun and games until one of the drunk bartenders came outside and started yelling at people and making a scene. It could have been funny if she wasn't so aggressive. My girlfriend and her friends started feeling bad so we left. What started off as an awesome night catching up with old friends turned out to be a bummer. Hopefully this was just a really off night - but obviously when the hosts are acting worse than the guests that's not a good sign.

Yelp
What a great local bar. Warm vibes, good energy, (smaller but interesting) people watching and overall accommodating staff. My friends and I stumbled upon this place when we were visiting, and we were just drawn to the energy. The decor is something out of your grandmother's attic (with a hodgepodge of miscellaneous holiday decorations and other knickknacks). I would recommend a stop if you are in the area.
google avatar

Corey C.

Yelp
Not entirely sure what a Curio is but I know a great bar when I see one and I hope that the Station Bar comes into it's own as a Woodstock staple.
google avatar

Brittany C.

Yelp
The building is awesome - for some reason there was this smell, like chemicals maybe paint. The bartender was as friendly as a stop sign - not to be a bitch
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
Genuine pub atmosphere and eclectic range of live music make this a must-stop on your visit to Woodstock.

Molly G.

Yelp
I'm giving them a low rating due to their smoking policy. They allow smoking at the tables outside (yes, outside but a covered structure with open air that is definitely "on premises"; where people are eating and drinking). A smoker forced myself and my entire group inside, ending our enjoyment of drinking a beer outside. *This is the second time this has happened to us here so we're never going back. Anywhere else in NY, this is illegal. I don't understand why they allow it.
google avatar

M L.

Yelp
This bar is a great addition to the town of Woodstock. Its centrally located, has a very laid back, comfortable environment, great beers on tap, and have an outdoor section with plenty of space. The live bands I've seen there have also always been good. Always look forward to stopping by here when I come to Woodstock.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool place on Tinker St. Stopped for an afternoon drink while in Woodstock. Bar is great, good local craft beer selection - can't wait to come back next time in town to try the food!
google avatar

Liz B.

Yelp
We had so much fun here. First time bringing our baby to a bar! He was only 7 months, so he just sat in his stroller and did nothing, but staff and patrons were very welcoming and friendly! We sat in the little booth by the bar, drank a couple of beers, ate peanuts and listened to live music. Perfect afternoon.
google avatar

Nortondawg B.

Yelp
Swell place all around. A list beer selections, grand staff, great blend of live music. Love meeting friends, new and old, here.
google avatar

J E.

Yelp
Stopped by this cozy bar in a transplanted train station early on a Saturday night. There is ample seating outside and live entertainment later in the evening. There is an interesting tap list and small bites. My wife and I enjoyed a dry riesling that was a bit on the pricy side but by no means exorbitant.
google avatar

Steven H.

Yelp
Awesome little bar offering a great selection of local brews and distilled spirits. The few food options they have are a delicious variety of grilled cheese selections that they press right at the bar. Although they've been in the space only a year, it has the look and feel as having been there much longer. There are 3 separate spaces within - the small bar with single handmade booth is in the upper back, in the old baggage room from the train station days. Then there's a couple of rooms a half level down, including a pool room with a single table. Suspect this will be a long term winner in Woodstock.

Tina C.

Yelp
Fun bar, great live music in the summer under a covered patio with farm style tables. Limited food options but it's a great place to enjoy a cocktail
google avatar

Shlok S.

Yelp
Nice, low key bar. Good for groups or to go with friends. There's also a lot of friendly people and a pool table which is fun!

Maxwell Y.

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing. I stopped here during a weekend in woodstock and can't wait to go back. Great drinks, REALLY great grilled cheese sandwiches, amazing outdoor space, and nice pool table. The space is also beautiful. Everything was built by hand and incredibly well crafted. If you're anywhere in the vicinity of Woodstock you have to go and get a drink - or many. It's also at the end of mainstreet, so it's super convenient to the town. Lots of parking too - which as a city person i don't typically think about but is apparently a big deal there. go.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
My new favorite place in town for drinks and good food. Lily has done a great job with the place and the mixed drinks are fantastic! Awesome beer selection, super friendly service and it's easy to strike up conversations with people. They have live, local music too!

NR H.

Yelp
This was my first visit here. The vibe was a bit weird...a very drunk dude was making some really disturbing comments. Not their fault, but I can't say the same about the drinks. I was here with three others and we were all disappointed with out drinks. My drink was flat, hot toddy tasted like lukewarm lemon water with alcohol, which probably explains why the honey was stuck in a glob at the bottom of the drink.
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
Great spot on the outskirts of the main drag. The bar has a pool table, Ms PAC man and many board games. Bar tenders were nice and also cooked at the bar a small menu of bites. We went twice and there was different live entertainment both times. A little pricy for upstate but the ambiance made up for it.

J B.

Yelp
It's the best place. Lily will serve you the wrong beer if she likes you and Ben will miraculously beat you at pool. He sucks. Mark is the only one you can count on to listen to you drivel on about inane bullshit. Pity they don't offer beds. I recommend bringing your own.

Hayley M.

Yelp
This place is not a place for tourists. Don't come here unless you're a local. Three stars because I saw many people who were enjoying their time there, it just wasn't the spot for me. The inside is dark and dingy, but I guess that's supposed to be "artsy". The beer selection was pretty small, but reasonably curated. The clientele is decidedly not from the city if you get my drift...(Lots of loud, drunk people talking about the government, social security, etc...). Also, the smoking outside on the patio kind of ruins the vibe. I love a good dive bar, but something was just off about this place for me.
google avatar

Angella G.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I found this place while wondering around Woodstock on recent beautiful Sunday afternoon. What a gem this place is!! The atmosphere is warm, unique, and historic. The bartenders were friendly and attentive, the grilled cheese sandwiches yummy, and the beer selection was on point! We really didn't want to leave! I highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Elissa F.

Yelp
This place is awesome! I grew up in Woodstock and have been waiting for this chill, great spot with tasty bites and good beers and cocktails. It has a great outdoor area for nice weather, plentiful parking even in the middle of town, and the nicest, kindest bartenders, owners and staff. Thank you!!

Catherine L.

Yelp
What a awesome place! We were warmly greeted when we stopped by at happy hour and given a brief description of each draft beer. I decided on the millhouse cucumber cream ale, what a refreshing and unique treat! Lots of local NY beer and spirits in a lovely and unique setting. A must try- definitely stop by for a drink when visiting Woodstock!

Yelp
I was having a fantastic time in Woodstock with my girlfriend who had never been there, we had seen Livingston Taylor on Friday March 8, 2019 the night before, what a great show. So we decided to stay until Saturday March 9 and see the town. At lunch time we decided to visit the Station that someone had told us it was a new place in town, that was my only dreadful mistake out of the whole trip. Walked in and my first impression was of a campy cramped place two small tables one carved into a tight little hole in the wall with a couple that did not look to enthusiastic the other was empty in a tight corner which we took, I'm telling you my RV has more room than this place. Three dudes were sipping a beer at the tiny bar, enough room for three and after ten minutes of no show from anybody in charge anywhere I approached the dudes and asked if there was even a bartender, they said that she had left a while ago, so the only logical question for me was to ask, "who is in charged"? they all shrugged there shoulders at the same time. My girlfriend and I proceeded to check some back room and there was a woman arguing about her credit card charges, we never though that this person would be in charge so we went back up front and about an additional ten minutes later the woman that was in a heated argument on her phone about her credit emerged and i asked her if she was in charged and she asked me if i wanted something, and not to be to sarcastic or insulting on the time i had spent there waiting, bar unattended, cash register unattended and customers waiting, I replied to her "that would be real nice if she took care of us". Well you talk about a raging bull, but that's who she got possessed by, she went behind the bar and started kicking things around and asked me with a hostile voice "what did I want with a look on her face of a bull ready to gore the Matador in a bull fight. At that point i had to ask my girlfriend to leave this dive. She has to learn that her problems are not our problems. Ruined the beautiful weekend. If the review had a zero that's what i would had given it. My advice is do not go there. This woman needs help. Hope that her next job is not serving people. Maybe counting salmon in the Columbia river would be a good job, but i feel sorry for the salmon.

Yelp
We stopped in for a drink after dinner and wound up staying for a few hours. Great crowd of all types, good beer, fun live band, positive energy!

Derrick S.

Yelp
Great food and service! Try the Millhouse Cucumber draft. Gazpacho was fantastic, couscous was great and ham & cheddar unique.
google avatar

Filipp P.

Yelp
What a gem. Spending the weekend in Woodstock and this is the place to be. Live music, fantastic brews, and a great atmosphere. And the building...it's like I've gone back in time. Great hidden downstairs area, outdoor patio is to die for. Overall...this place is an A+ in my book. Only suggestion I would make would be to add a few adirondack chairs or some rustic rocking chairs to the outdoor area. I'd never leave.
google avatar

Max B.

Yelp
Excellent bar all around! Lovely owners, great atmosphere, and lots of interesting odds and ends filling the place. Three rooms plus a huge patio make for just about any kind of bar night you're in the mood for - there's a pool table + pacman in the back, quiet booths and tables in the middle, good conversation around the bar up front, and plentiful outside seating. Excellent local beers on tap and loads of spirits from exceptional distilleries in the area and beyond. Great simple sandwiches and soups too - best watermelon gazpacho I've ever had. Really a huge addition to the area! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Amazing place! My husband and I ended a 2 week road trip that took us through ADK, Burlington, White Mountains, Portland, Portsmouth, etc here in Woodstock and this bar was one of our very favorite places we found through our trip. Lily, the owner, is such a warm, kind person and is truly knowledgeable about everything she serves up. Incredible ambiance that you just have to see and experience for yourself! Small plates feature all local produce and are made in house. We were only in Woodstock for 2 nights, but we went here both days. Can't say enough about this wonderful spot. Great service, great people. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
