Visited: 11/07/2023 A nice museum that is informative about the building and construction of Lady Liberty and the decision of her placement in New York. It was fascinating to read about the materials and maintenance involved throughout the years as well. They also have the original torch for you to view inside, it was replaced due to wear and tear. The only downside is it can get really crowded in there due to the sheer volume of visitors – it probably didn’t help that it was a hot day, and the museum was air-conditioned adding to the numbers. Overall, the museum is worth a visit, and it’s included in your ticket to visit the Island so why not!

The trip across to seethe Iconic Liberty was an amazing experience itself but to discover this Museum on the Island was a bonus!!! Fascinating!!! Not a big Museum but full of artifacts and lots of information about Liberty herself and what she represents. The original torch is housed here. It's great to learn of how she came to be and how she still has influence across the globe. I definitely recommend a trip to this fascinating Museum

Free, fast to walk through even with reading. If you don't want to spend too much time but still want to get some historical facts about the statue of Liberty it's great ! It has everything from its elaboration to its construction to its fame. From a French visitor, I'm very amazed at how this island has attracted so many visitors at this French-American symbol. You can also go on the roof top, usually less frequented but has a nice view of NYC.

A nice little museum that is free, if you can get yourself onto the island - Liberty Island that is. It was opened in 2019, exhibiting the history of the island.

I have visited the Statue of Liberty on a few occasions and have to say that this museum was much needed. The did a really nice job of putting it together. The original torch used to be underneath the pedestal which caused a little bit of a line to get in. Now the torch and many of the artifacts are located in this beautiful new museum. The Statue of Liberty Museum opened on Liberty Island in 2019. It is located where the Statue ferries dock and has three interactive galleries. These galleries tell the history of the Statue of Liberty from sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi's design and construction to when it arrived in America. Through the glass windows you can see both the Statue of Liberty and the New York City skyline. There is an immersive theater that shows a 10 minute movie. As you walk through the exhibits, you will see many unique artifacts including the original torch that Lady Liberty once held from 1886 to 1984. I enjoyed standing next to the replicas of the Statue of Liberty's face and feet. You can touch them and they give you a perspective of how big the statue is. If you go up on the roof deck, you can get beautiful panoramic views of the New York Harbor. Overall, I was very inspired by this museum and enjoyed my time in it. The Statue of Liberty was a gift from the people of France to the United States in 1886 for the centennial celebration of its independence from British colonial rule. The museum is included in the cost to Statue of Liberty National Monument.

Weirdly the statue of liberty Museum is the best part of this experience. The ferry ride was bumpy and multiple people got motion sick. The food at the café was awful. But the museum itself was the most interesting part of the day. I liked seeing where it had been refurbished and which movies had been filmed there, etc.

Cute little museum talking about the history of the Statue of Liberty and refurbishment- takes abut 30 minutes or less. You can take the ferry from Battery Park, walk around Liberty Island, visit the museum, and head on over to Ellis Island afterwards. 2023 #97

The Statue of Liberty Museum is located on Liberty Island in New York City. Offering tourist filled with Arts and Culture of Statue of Liberty There are three interactive galleries that tell the statue's history in thought provoking ways. Easy to buy the ticket to go to Liberty Island in one round and get to tour everything in on shot. I went to this museum at least three times since I live in New York, taking friends and family tour around.

The place is amazing. So much history and the symbol of America. The museum on the island is really awesome, so much cool stuff to see and so much stuff I didn't know about the Statue of Liberty! I suggest paying for the platform tour if you can! Lots of cool photo ops. Another great place to learn about America's history! Also, the place gets packed so book your tour for the earliest time you can get. The ferry line moves quick to board but it does get more crowded towards 11 AM.

TLDR: educational, organized, clean, and packed with information (and people). Read the plaques or follow along with the audio tour. Located on Liberty Island, the Statue of Liberty Museum is a must-see after gazing at the magnificent statue. After arriving on Liberty Island by ferry, we picked up the audio tour devices and proceeded to the Statue of Liberty. The cost of the ferry, museum, and audio tour are included in the price of admission. We paid extra to do the pedestal reserve (highly recommend). After retrieving our items from the lockers, we walked to the museum. The museum was crowded making it difficult to view each exhibit and read all the plaques. They offer four areas: immersive theater, engagement gallery, inspiration gallery, and roof deck. They have a variety of pictures online if you would rather view the museum virtually. Currently masks are not required. We learned a lot about the construction of the Statue of Liberty here. With the crowds and wealth of information, we did not get a chance to look at everything. Overall, we had a good visit and recommend visiting this museum while on the island.

I'm not a huge museum person but I loved the information on Lady Liberty. Reading the history of the torch, refurbishing parts of lady Liberty and lots more ass very interesting! We didn't do the interactive listening but I would do it next time for the full experience.

History speaks for its self. The Statue of Liberty is a must. How you get there and which tour to select is the question? Here's a few tips that might help. I looked at Groupon deals and researched and few tours before traveling to New York and I'm glad I didn't book anything in advance. We took a taxi from Times Square to Battery Park ($14) where you can catch the ferry to Ellis Island. The ferry is $24/adults, $12/kids and it makes two stops, Statue of Liberty and the National Museum of Immigration. The ferry runs ever 25 minutes between stops. Passengers can come and go between museums all day! The Ferry is super cute, 3 levels, second deck is heated, it has an audio tour guide and a snack bar with decent eats and souvenirs. There's plenty of indoor/outdoor seating and enough standing room to capture photos at various angles. It's an all around wonderful experience, rain or shine, for travelers of all ages.

This museum is free to visitors anytime. It is not a big museum and I would say you can see everything within 1hour. It is located on Statue Island where the Statue of Liberty is located. you do need pay for the ferry ride to get to the island and that is around $24. They do have special tours here, if you pay extra. This is a must see if you are here and they have very interesting artifacts that are related to the history and constructions of the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty Museum gift shop is not located in the same building.

Don't miss this, just a mere extra 5 minute walk past the Statute of Library. Also, the included movie is a must see. It really was a great benefit to the museum.

VERY COOL ! My wife and I walked over here after parting company with our Tour Guide Casey. It's a beautiful building with a huge observation deck on the roof....we didn't have time to check that out ! However we did see the original torch held by female figure of the Statue of Liberty. As our very informed Tour Guide Casey explained the original iron & glass torch was removed in the mid 80's because the iron was rusting and the glass was cracked causing water to seep inside the statue. It was replaced with a torch made from sturdier material. We didn't hang around too long because we wanted to catch the next ferry back to The Battery. GOOD FUN !

Located on Liberty Island a few meters away from the Statue, is the museum. Highly recommend visiting and viewing the short but informative video on the statue's construction and the museum'S artifacts and exhibits. Thank you for reading my review.

Pretty fun experience. Security line to get on the ferry was a little tedious. Not as bad as TSA, but it's annoying to have to take everything off a couple of times, once to get in the ferry and once to got up the statue. The free museum is a little better than the one in the statue. Stairs are expected. National Park staff was pretty friendly. Overall pretty fun and educational.

This museum was definitely highlight of my visit to NY. It's fairly a new museum and it tell you all the information needed behind the Statue of Liberty . I'm amazed by this museum and how detailed it was. The audio tour helped a lot because you get a better understanding of what happened before and how it came along w the statue. Also something that I really appreciated was the photos you can take and it's posted on the big screen and some are categorized based on what country and what are the 7 things you think about with Liberty. I think this was just beyond amazing and happy that I got to experience that. Thank you!!

Very nice addition to the status of liberty experience. We stepped out of the July heat to see what this was all about. There is a movie theatre and some very interesting exhibits. I think this is a relatively new museum. Now that we've seen it, we won't be back for quite some time, but it was a nice add to our afternoon... and it's free

The Statue of Liberty Museum is right next to the Statue of Liberty. It's only accessible via the ferry, so make sure to set aside enough time to get out there and spend as much time as you'd like. The museum talks about the history of it's design, inspiration, construction, fundraising, and also houses the original torch. There's a lovely little short video as well that talks about it's history and is well worth taking half a day to visit and spend the day out here.

The newest tourist attraction opened May 16 2019. I think it was a truly great addition to the island. I personally learned a lot more about how the statue was formed. I was even emotional!Remember to use the audio tour device and it can be set in many languages. I started the tour by watching these mini videos in the theater which were very inspiring in learning about the message of history and Liberty . Each room was a three minute video. I walked around through the interactive exhibits which really break down the artistic inspiration of the men who contributed to Lady Liberty and the famous sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi . You understand the structure of the statue and and it's framework, including a huge copper foot that you can feel and take a picture by . It was interesting to see the Lady Liberty's original torch inside . What is awesome about this as well , is that if you don't have a chance to purchase tickets to go inside the statue , it's still worth visiting ! I spend most of my day taking pictures outside the statue and walking around the museum . I don't want to give too much away , you just need to go !!!!
