"During midterms each semester, church is in session at Staufs, as students religiously file in to caffeinate with their favorite coffees and teas while studying. Since the cafe chain converted an old church into a dining space in 2019, it has become a sanctuary for students. The stained glass windows and the vaulted ceilings create the ideal setting for writing term papers, catching up with friends, and reading a good book. Order an iced Buckeye latte, an almond latte, or a classic pour over." - Angela Lee

Honestly it was a little underwhelming. The building is beautiful on the outside. Looks like a small castle. Inside they have preserved a lot of the woodwork and the stain glass is gorgeous. But the walls are drab and institutional, the serving counter is blah and cluttered. The tables and chairs are boring. They need a refresh from someone with an eye towards design. Nice place but I expected it to knock my socks off. It didn’t. Coffee was very good though

This neighborhood establishment and renovated church, is located on the corner of W 6th and Thurber in Columbus. A wonderful addition that offers a friendly staff and options. I loved my coffee and cute design on top. Par take at the patio seating out front or sit and relax inside. The woodwork and aesthetics inside is beautiful. Make it your favorite spot.

Google
My wife and I visited here this morning. Stauf’s is a lovely neighborhood coffee shop with great selection. I had the Americano. My wife enjoyed a lavender infused double latte. The building is a repurposed Episcopal church. They did an amazing job of respecting the original architecture with modern updates inside. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Google
This place for me is more atmosphere than it is about the drinks. The drinks are fine, but this shop is located inside a church and is big and spacious inside with beautiful windows. This place is great for people who live on campus, but for others, the parking is limited paid street parking and terrible. The service was quick and good. If it is within your reach, this is a great place to get some work done.

My daughter wanted to surprise me with a great cup of coffee. She brought me to a coffee house that was built inside of an old Church. They made me a white chocolate hazelnut coffee and I ordered a Strawberry shortcake scone. The scone was incredible and the coffee was too, not to strong and not weak. But the interior was why she bought me here. The glass windows are magnificent. I'd definitely come back here! Staff was super friendly.

Google
The cafe is inside the old church which is for me totally amazingly beautiful and gave it different vibes and atmosphere from any other cafe. I also like the pourover coffee, but it would be great if they provide people with samples of the coffee. Because I wanted to try Java beans since I don’t try it before but I don’t like it.

Google
Very cool location in an old church. Great coffee and ambiance. Staff is excellent. We parked by the nearby H2O church and crossed the street. I had a nitro cold brew, which was awesome. No lines on a Saturday afternoon.

Google
I have two days a week working from home and this place is my only go to working-coffee shop! The location is amazing! It has plenty of space, delicious muffins, and great coffee lattes. Their beans are top-notch. I highly recommend it! The outdoor seating especially in the fall and spring are incomparable 🩵

Yelp
My FAVORITE Stauf's location! Inside an old church, it's beautiful and a great place to go and work or catch up with friends. It can get busy though so I recommend going early. Street parking is 3 hour max limit with payment, and I don't believe they have a parking lot which is the only downside. Coffee is amazing as always and the staff is always so nice! Love going here!

Chloe F.

Yelp
Really cool space for a coffee shop and it doesn't hurt that the lattes are tasty too! There seems to be a decent amount of street parking (paid) and pup parking, which is adorable. Looks like a great place to have near the OSU campus.

Rich G.

Yelp
Great location, good service and excellent strawberry scones!! When the weather cooperates I'll sit outside as it's just a great location . Inside can get crowded, but of you're early it's a great spot to see how they kept so many of the classic architectural pieces that showcase this was once a gathering place with a different purpose, but still has mornings in mind. The baked goods are very good- props to the person who made my strawberry scone today- top notch Fair prices, good service and a great location. Come and see for yourself.

Yelp
This is a great place to study. The architecture is just stunning, and the inside has great lighting. Stauf's is within walking distance from my house, so it's very convenient. I got the chorizo, egg, and potato breakfast sandwhich. The bun was super soft, but I don't know if I would get it again. The baristas are always welcoming and friendly.

Yelp
Second visit here and it was just as good as the first. The place is a well oiled machine handling the seemingly eternal morning coffee line very efficiently. We had a vanilla latte (espresso has a bit of a darker roast/aftertaste), herbal elderberry iced tea (pre sweetened but not syrupy sweet at all!) and a peanut butter cookie sandwich (vegan if anyone needs to know) and I found all delightful. Street parking is paid but we got 30 min for like .85 cents. I think we were in and out within 20 min which included a short sit down. Thanks Stauf!

Yelp
I've walked past this Stauf's so many times, I had to stop in to check it out. It's located in an old church on Neil Ave. When you walk in, there are high ceilings and windows, some of the seating is church pews, and there was a long line. They had a good system, and the line moved quickly. My chai latte was delicious! I was in and out quickly this time, but would definitely come back to relax and enjoy a chai latte sometime.

Abby L.

Yelp
Freaky great coffee. Bagels are great too. The space is super cool and lots of tables and stuff to sit down and do work.

Saphace A.

Yelp
I've been meaning to come to Stauf's but I'm not the biggest fan of their espresso. I'd stick with their teas and their scones. Anyway, it's summer for college students so why not? You need that mask to walk in. Social distanced X on the ground. No chairs to sit on or tables. Staff had masks on and they've got the glass barrier at the counter. It was around 3 on a Saturday so whose drinking coffee at this time? Not busy at all. I saw a few undergraduate looking people and other normals who've been outta school a while like me. The space is open and beautiful! Love how they've made it modern. Lots of snake plants around and the zz plant! Loving it!! I got a shot of espresso. Not my fave. My sister got a cortado. Very light. Might come back to get a mug although I'm usually at the one in Grandview or German Village. Parking wasn't bad. But again school is out. Literally found parallel parking right next to the building. Who can beat that?

Kalah Rae F.

Yelp
Really really cool location in an old church. Parking is by app, so prepare for that. I found a spot really quickly in the middle of a Monday but I can't vouch for busier times of day. The outside boasts a large patio, which plenty of people were hanging out on-- working on laptops, conversing, etc. It's all very uncovered and open so on a windy day it may not be as comfortable but on a still, sunny day, it seems perfect. That's what it was when I was there The inside has super high ceilings, gorgeous stained-glass windows, but with a surprisingly bright and well-let-feeling interior, as the walls are all painted white. I ordered an iced chai with Snowville milk. Mind you, I am typically an alternative milk girl because I don't trust commercial milk.... but Snowville is an incredible local company and it's about the only time you'll ever see me using regular milk. Stauf's gets MAJOR points for supporting local even though Snowville costs 3x as much as an input as regular milk does. Once upon a time, Jeni's ice cream also used Snowville, but they made the switch to a cheaper option. Not Stauf's! I got to my table and tasted my chai, and realized it was way too sweet; however, it was to no fault of the recipe or the barista. I normally order a dirty chai with espresso and in my Snowville excitement I had just ordered regular... so I went up to the counter to ask for a shot of espresso. I believe the cost was only around $.60 or so, which is half of what other places charge. The cost was so low that the barista didn't want to run my card and gave me my extra shot on the house. Super cool of them. After I got the extra shot in there it was one of the best dirty iced chai's I have ever had. I'll be back, Stauf's!

Yelp
Five stars for this excellent staufs location. First off, it doesn't get cooler than this old church. It is beautiful inside and spacious. Then the staff is always super friendly the coffee always taste great! Also they have a fantastic patio too for the warmer months. I highly recommend this place! Good amount of street parking as well in front and along the side of the building too. Also wifi so a great spot to work or study!

Merr M.

Yelp
10/10, I got the French vanilla iced coffee!!! Such a beautiful place. Workers are so nice and cool looking

Rose Z.

Yelp
Great coffee shop on a Saturday morning. I'm a huge fan of lavender everything, and their seasonal lavender honey latte and lavender earl grey scone were A+. Probably one of the best scones I've ever had. Will be coming back! Beautiful and creative location also.

Macie S.

Yelp
Staff: The staff here are always happy and bubbly. The are very sweet and always welcoming they definitely treat you like family whether your a new or old customer. Service: The service was quite fast even though they were very busy. From the time we walked in, to the time we ordered was about a 5min wait. Once ordered it took about 2min for one of our drinks and about 5 minutes for the other. Food Menu: They have a nice mini menu of food I've personally never remembered that they have food until after I order so I haven't tried it but there is a very nice variety. Drink Menu: They have a rather big menu for drinks. Coffee, Tea, and even just Milk. Our Order: We ordered one large light peaberry coffee, and one large chai latte. Quality: The quality of the products here are above and beyond the most popular places you can visit. As an avid coffee and tea drinker this is my go to place every time for my coffee and tea. You will not find a better place than this. Ombiance: The Ombiance here is very quaint and quiet. It's very relaxing to sit inside during winter but during spring and summer my favorite place is to be in the patio. Experience: My experience here is always amazing I recommend everyone to come and try their food and drinks you will not be disappointed!

Chad S.

Yelp
Great Coffee and service. Close by to OSU Medical and short north. Had a dirty chai latte. It was awesome!

Claire R.

Yelp
Good coffee, great atmosphere!!! Love the location, inside a beautiful old church. Gets quite busy on the weekends

Camille F.

Yelp
New to Columbus. Stopped in this morning for a cappuccino. Staff seemed a little too hipster to function. When I asked if I could have my drink in a ceramic cup, the barista dumped my drink with over-frothed milk into a mug and spilt all over the counter in front of me, didn't wipe the side of the mug and handed it to me...not great quality coffee and very sloppy service. I came ready to love this place....too bad

Christina D.

Yelp
This is a gorgeous space and the coffee is just as good as at other Stauf's locations. I'd love to spend time here during the week or on weekends during university breaks. Sadly parking is difficult and the space gets echo-y and kind of loud when it's busy, so I think I'll stick with other Stauf's locations mostly. But if you're in walking distance and own some good headphones? This is a great study/writing spot.

Briana S.

Yelp
Stauf's has amazing coffee and breakfast sandwiches. When I went, they were out of their sausage egg and cheese stuffed sandwiches so I had their chorizo egg and cheese sandwich and it was so good. It was something I wasn't expecting to have but turned out amazing. It was a little spicy if anyone doesn't like spice.

Katherine G.

Yelp
Swanky little place in an old church. The atmosphere is great and the coffee is definitely Staufs quality

Jayme H.

Yelp
I'm a big lover of Stauf's coffee and I'm glad they decided to open up a location in my neighborhood. When I finally got word that they were opening, I made sure to schedule a coworking day so I could check it out with friends. We arrived around 8AM on a week day and the place was already filling up. Word definitely got around and the neighborhood was excited to check out the new space. This new space is actually a really old space, an old church to be exact. They renovated the building and added their own flare to it. Very cool! The service and coffee was awesome, despite my bagel order being incorrect. Everyone working that morning was jazzed to share the space with new customers. The energy was contagious and I loved every bit of it. This is something I can say runs true at every location of Stauf's. They do a great job at hiring personable folks and their coffee is consistently delicious. The few things that urked me, which resulted in this review being a 4 star instead of a five, was the seating and the lighting. Half the seating was derived from old church pews. While this is a really neat way to show off the history of the space, they were difficult to sit in and rather uncomfortable. I'm kinda short and these seats dip low, which made the tables too high to work out of, plus they are really hard. I ended up moving to a larger high-top table, which wasn't very sturdy and an awkward size. It was meant for four people but really only fit two along with their laptops, coffee, and breakfast. The lighting on the other hand was dark and the fixtures were round. They caused glares on everything and bothered my eyes. This was a fabulous location for Stauf's to open up another coffee shop and I'll definitely be back to grab a cup of joe and get some work done. Other perks? Great patio, gender neutral bathrooms, and I noticed a wheelchair elevator towards the back of the building. Love that they made this building accessible to all. Way to go the extra mile for the community!

Lily S.

Yelp
The environment is super cool! I enjoy when I can find a table and sit to work on things, however it is almost always packed. I have left multiple times because the line is out the door. Fun seasonal flavors for drinks!

Lisa Z.

Yelp
Got their bacon cheddar scone and iced mocha with it milk today. The scone was surprisingly very moist with flavorful cheddar bites and good chunks of bacon. The mocha was also great as well, with a good amount of chocolate flavor. They do get pretty busy during the morning and a lot of the parking around the place is permit only, so they were a little rushed when I got in but otherwise a very solid coffee shop that would be great to study in!

Kay K.

Yelp
This amazing coffee shop just opened this morning and you HAVE to go check it out!!! The atmosphere inside is airy, light, well-designed and beautiful. They've transformed this church to be a cozy coffee shop, while still maintaining the amazing architecture of the original building. They serve coffee, pastries, teas, kombuchas and more. They also have whole bean coffees available to scoop yourself and take home! While parking isn't the easiest, circling the block and finding a spot is totally worth it to experience this friendly and warm coffee shop.

Rachelle S.

Yelp
Got to visit three locations while in Ohio and this was my favorite location. Don't get me wrong the coffee was very delicious in every location I went to. This location is very unique! The stain glass just gives a great vibe to a lovely coffee house. Ok now to the coffee one of the best tasting coffees I have ever had and I have had great coffees. I cannot wait to be back in Columbus! In the meantime I got a ton of coffee beans. Thanks Staufs for making great coffee and having great hospitality!

Erica M.

Yelp
I've been to two other Stauf's locations, but this one has extra style points for sure! I was just driving by when I noticed the new coffee shop in an old church and had to check it out! Parking was found easily on the street. You walk in through the old church doors to an open and nicely remodeled space. The stain glass windows, high ceilings, and mid century modern decor make for a cool vibe. It was pretty crowded and seemed like there was less seating than the Grandview and German Village locations. I ordered an iced latte and my friend a Cortada. The quality of the coffee was the same you would expect. Lids and straws were not in an obvious location, as they were on the opposite side from where you pick up drinks. We decided to sit out on the front patio. Whoever placed these chairs didn't actually try to sit in them or think about placement. There was no room to even pull out your chair if someone else was sitting behind you. They need to maybe take away one or two tables or find a better arrangement. Overall a fun location for a new Stauf's! My complain with all their locations is just that they don't have the best food selection, and this is why they get 4 stars.

Lauren C.

Yelp
i dont drink coffee, so i cant speak to their coffee; but staufs is definitely a nice cafe! they have options besides coffee, so i got a hot chocolate and it was good, just a normal hot chocolate. i also got a breakfast sandwhich and liked it a lot. the ambiance is very modern. it does get busy so getting a table can be hard, especially because of how many people do work/study here. i had a brownie too that was the best thing i ordered!

Mallory H.

Yelp
Omg omg omg! I love Staufs! The coffee is so freakin good! I would definitely recommend trying something fun on their seasonal menu-- you will not regret it. The vibe of the place is perfect if you are trying to get some work done! I love going here to work on Friday's as a "treat." The pastries are to die for! The whole place & aesthetic is such a fun vibe. I love the old church

Dion P.

Yelp
Staff at the time was unfriendly, rude and unprofessional. Smiling and being friendly would help.

Marc R.

Yelp
What a great historical building beautiful inside and out. Even if you don't like coffee you should check it out. Latte was ok Cranberry Scone was on point. 5 stars for the building

Ashley W.

Yelp
Nothing but a holy experience to be had when you enter this building for a nice cup of Joe! The stained glass windows the incomparable high-ceilings. But of course they would have them, I mean it is a church! Stauf's bringing the smooth brews and friendly faces in the workers. It was a great space to work and read. So bring a jacket and cozy up to a many easy chair in the space. But get here early! Seats go fast! I got a cappuccino and a brown sugar pecan scone. The combination was heavenly...no pun intended. 4 stars for a great experience! Will be coming back!

Remi W.

Yelp
EXCELLENT!!! Can't get over how good this place is. The coffee is so good and prices are very fair. $3.60 got a 24 ounce amazing cold brew is a dream come true. 100% recommend. Already planning to come back.

Evieta S.

Yelp
I'm an espresso, strong/dark coffee, not a fan of chain coffee place kind of person. Was visiting Columbus, a local recommended this coffee place. Nice place, love the Cortado.

Aaron P.

Yelp
Great rich and complex coffee flavors located in a beautifully renovated church. Great location off of the busy main commerce street

Emily K.

Yelp
This was one of the coolest coffee shops I've ever been to. I was really surprised when I pulled up to a church, but the way they maintained the stain glass while making the inside trendy was SO cool. Plus my cafe mocha was great (and cheap!), so it was a win-win

Meimei T.

Yelp
Best coffee in Columbus. Hands down. The Victorian Village location is good for students and is usually pretty packed with people studying. It has beautiful stained glass windows and high ceilings because it's in an old church! They also have their own beans you can buy which are great for those who love to brew their own coffee. If you love coffee you will love Stauf's! IMO it's a Cbus staple :)

Brian F.

Yelp
Cool inside but I'm all about that shaded patio in the am during these corona times. The gentleman working was super helpful and pointed me towards an iced chai. Perfect way to start off a Tuesday!

Leon D.

Yelp
This is a really cool coffee shop located in an old church. Because of current times they don't allow inside seating and the outdoor seating is brutally in the sun in the sweltering heat... they could at least add some umbrellas. The coffee is very good and high quality and the baristas know how to properly pour a great latte. Once things are back to normal I'm sure it would be more tolerable to hang out at but until then it loses a star because for such a massive space, it doesn't make sense why they don't allow indoor seating!

Dina D.

Yelp
If you want to worship at the church of coffee, this is the place to go. Situated in a converted church on the corner, they have made beautiful renovations while preserving a lot of the character of the original building. There is plenty of seating and along the walls they have one seater pews, so indeed you can live the Dad joke dream of "he who farts in church sits in his own pew." Although this location doesn't offer French Presses, their espresso drinks are excellent. The LATTE and AMERICANO are both delicious. Great atmosphere, great architecture and great coffee make this a great choice all around.

Cintia C.

Yelp
Absolutely love the ambience in a repurposed church! This location can get a bit noisy, especially during the weekends, so it might be best for a meet-up or studying with some higher quality headphones. The cappuccino with oat milk was PERFECT! The espresso was smooth and strong, with a nice creaminess from the oat milk.

Merve C.

Yelp
Loved that they transformed a church to make a this new stauffs in the neighborhood! High ceilings and modern decor gives stauff a whole new image! They didnt have the typical options of teas & coffees that you find in the original grandview stauffs but the ambiance was perfect for working or studying! Highly recommend to check it out if yoi are in the area! they also have great outdoor seating enjoy it while you can, this place will get pretty popular soon!

Jessica B.

Yelp
Good espresso in a unique location. The pastries and bagels are fresh, too. Nice and quiet first thing in the morning.

Drew S.

Yelp
There is something super special about this new Stauf's location. Maybe it's the proximity to campus? Maybe it's the renovated church? Maybe it's the pristine white accents? Maybe it's just cuz it's Stauf's? Stauf's coffee rocks. Simple as that. Throw it in a super cool location and you have Columbus' hottest new coffee shop. If you haven't stopped by and checked this place out for yourself, it needs to be at the top of your list. Old pews serve as seats for many table. Stain glass windows compliment the modern accents. There is even outdoor seating if that's what suits your fancy! On my most recent visit, it was very crowded... as Staufs tend to be. I'm not sure if it's because the venue is so sick or because it is new? Either way, I'll be back. A lot.

Inna G.

Yelp
One of few places that offers brewed tea which is already a big fat star! The design of the place is incredible.. The place is pretty much a study area for students. Doesn't offer much of food options. Bathrooms are 3/5.

Suhan K.

Yelp
Open for takeout or you can hang in their outdoor patio. Very large and spacious with strong WiFi, it's right next to the book loft and tucked away a bit but once you find it you're in for a treat! I appreciate a good cup of oat milk cappuccino and theirs was on point. Friendly staff, can't wait for this pandemic to end to be able to appreciate these businesses at their full capacity. In German village, street parking is available but if you're close enough to walk, go check out the book loft, grab some coffee and stroll on down to Schiller!

Katlyn G.

Yelp
The vibe is immaculate! Great location. Only reason for 4 stars is the staff always sounds miserable when I interact with them. Other than that, totally recommend!

Brian S.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop! Since I have an old church, they haven't done anything with the church besides ploppa coffee shop in it. It's so beautiful! I like the cold brew, or I get an espresso with a shot of sugar-free chocolate and a little ice.

John D.

Yelp
I remember the first time I came here I was super confused. I walk up and the place is in a church, I didn't know if I was gonna get coffee or go to confession. Go in and it's big open room full of people studying, so it's a staple of the south campus culture. Then the coffee, there's a reason Stauf's has this city by the throat. Amazing coffee and drinks all around, a place you can't go wrong with whatever you order. This is a place I take anyone to whenever they come to town just because it's cool.

Serena S.

Yelp
Very unique and the coffee was amazing. The barista helped me pick out a new coffee to try and I'm grateful that she was very knowledgeable about the menu :)

Braxton H.

Yelp
Excellent coffee shop. Great location with indoor and outdoor seating. My Americano was perfect. They also have whole bean coffee for sale.

Ashley H.

Yelp
One of the best coffee shop ambience in Columbus. It is in a beautiful church with outdoor seating options. Lots of pastry choices.
