Google
Stax has some mixed reviews so I wanted to weigh in. Our burgers were prepared well and weren't greasy or smashed. Everything inside this hotel is overpriced, but there's no competition and it's low volume, so that's to be expected. You will rarely walk away without spending $20/person.

Google
Overall Rating: 2.8/10 Set within the stunning Gaylord's resort, this dining spot offers a fantastic atmosphere but falls short on value, making it difficult to recommend based on the price. Atmosphere: 9.2/10 The location within the Gaylord’s resort provides a visually impressive dining experience. The interior is described as clean and spacious, contributing significantly to the enjoyment of the environment. This high-standard setting establishes a strong initial expectation for the meal. Service: 4.9/10 Service is limited to basic order taking, with food arriving quickly. Condiments are available via self-service stations, which fits the fast-service model but doesn't add anything exceptional to the dining experience. Food: Burger with Bacon: 4.9/10 The burger, while featuring fresh ingredients and crisp bacon, offers only a basic taste experience. The use of a standard Heinz BBQ sauce from a self-serve dispenser detracts from the gourmet potential of the dish, making it feel more generic than expected, especially given the setting. The bun also fails to elevate the burger, described as "nothing special." Fries: 5.1/10 Similarly, the fries are described as average: adequately salted and crisp but not distinguishing themselves from any typical fast-food offering. Value: 1.3/10 At $17 for a burger and fries without a drink, the pricing is considered excessively high. Given the basic quality of the food, this price point is seen as unreasonable, impacting the overall recommendation negatively.

Google
Food: the burger was smashed and greasy. The chips are dry and nothing too unique. The burger at least has some flavour since I ordered with gouda cheese, mushrooms and bbq sauce. Service: basic fastfood style service, she took our order didn't really even tell us our total and we paid. Price of burgers though was outrageous for what amounts to a tiny smashed burger. Atmosphere: obviously five stars because opryland hotel is gorgeous but if I'm going to stay at such an expensive resort why is the food so terrible?

Google
The atmosphere is amazing because it’s in the the Gaylord Convention Center and Hotel, right on the indoor river. The burger was alright and the workers did their job. It wasn’t anything to write home about or recommend to anyone. Just the burger was 10 dollars and the meal is 17.

Google
Delicious lunch here at the Gaylord Nashville. I had a build-your-own burger with a side of made-in-restaurant potato chips. Those two items plus s bottled water came to just under $25. Delicious burger and good chips. Great for a fast meal.

Deborah S.

Google
The burgers were hot, juicy, and had variety of good toppings. However, when I spend this much for a burger I also like the actual meat cooked the way I like. The prices do reflect their location and the convenience they are offering to their customers. Seating is limited, but views are nice.

Shey A.

Google
I've cooked better at home. It was underwhelming, but the mediocre burger and fries filled my tummy and didn't make me sick. So there's that. Will I patronize them again? Highly unlikely.

Nick D.

Google
We picked up lunch here during a convention stay and were pretty pleased. We got in either before or after the rush but I saw huge lines here other times during our stay....keep this in mind. You fill out a form with how you would like your burger and turn it in then pay, we kept things pretty simple and I got fries and my wife got chips. Everything came out fresh and hot, I thought the fries were well done and the chips were excellent too....the leftovers made for a good snack later in the day. Pricing of course is high, but for what you got I feel like it was pretty fair. I would recommend a stop here for one of the better meals on the property.

Yelp
This is a great spot for burger eaters. It's located inside of Gaylord Opryland Resort, so prepare for a lone but they move very quickly. The food is fresh and fast. I had an Island burger-think loaded burger with pineapple and bbq sauce. Super tasty. The fries were perfectly crisped and. Seasoned. It is a casual spot where you can sit at a table or a bar that overlooks the garden. Cute. Definitely a spot to try when you don't know where to go. Burgers never disappoint.

Yelp
Okay, I have to be honest. This place is a complete rip off. They should call it "snacks" instead of "stax". And if you were wondering why it's called Stax, it's not because of the burger, it's because of the "Stax" of orders that pile up. It took an hour to make a burger and fries. Plain burger and fries. And the burger? Tiny. I've seen hockey pucks bigger than those patties. Very overcooked, flavor okay. These workers were more focused on their phones than the crowd of people waiting for their food. I saw many people go and ask for refunds because their order was taking so long. Very disappointing considering the prices were so high, should be getting more for what we paid. Very bad, just very bad.

Yelp
This locating is inside the Opry Land hotel. It is like a cafeteria burger joint. The food was sub par... the fries were not crispy, the burgers were meh... and the cost was too high. The best part is you can get your food and sit out in the garden area! It wasn't terrible but I would just have expected better in the Opry Land.

Yelp
DELICIOUS!!!! I loved my burger with black angus meat, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, Wisconsin Cheddar, bacon. The fries were also excellent!! I happily recommend STAX, inside the Gaylord Opry Resort and Convention Center. The hotel is HUGE, but, it's worth finding STAX. Don't give up, keep walking!! LOL GOOD FOOD!! Very nice service. Worth a wait, if there is a line. I had to wait in line, and I'm glad I did.

Yelp
I'm visiting Nashville and went to the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center for the waterfalls and the boat ride. I was really hungry and wound up eating here instead of the place someone had recommended to me. That was a big mistake. I paid $21.95 for a black angus beef burger with Wisconsin cheddar cheese, ketchup, mustard, onions (not caramelized onions) and mayonnaise, fries and a pop, and the burger and fries were not good at all. I had a feeling that I made a mistake when I was not asked how I wanted my burger cooked. It's unfortunate that this is my last meal memory in Nashville before I return home in the morning, when all the other restaurants I visited had such good food. The only thing I enjoyed was the beautiful scenery as I ate.

Yelp
Stax is this amazing burger place located in the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. If you ever get a chance to eat here, don't pass it up as they have the absolute best made to order burgers!
google avatar

Suzan H.

Yelp
$21 for burger and fries plus drink. Fries were barley warm asked for fresh fries they recooked old fries and handed to me. They were hot but tasted old and tough. 5 employees standing huddled chatting and only 1 customer, me. Save your money avoid this place. Regret tipping.

Yelp
At a conference at the Gaylord. Rarely a line and quick to get your order. The homemade burger patties are amazing. Tastes like it has like a Johnnys seasoning in the burger patty. You pick the meat, cheese and toppings. So juicy and delicious! Fries also have a seasoning salt on them that are amazing. quick easy and delicious!
google avatar

Caity C.

Yelp
Obsessed with the French fries here - perfectly crispy & well seasoned. Anytime I'm in Nashville for a conference here at the Gaylord Resort, this is my go-to for lunch. The shakes are a bit thick for my preference, but the burgers are quite delicious too. I've never had to wait long for any of my orders either; they're quite quick turning out tickets for sure!
google avatar

Anthony F.

Yelp
Can really review this place. It states that it closes at 9PM. It is middle of the day at 12:40PM and nobody is here to serve anyone. Pretty sad.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
I can't get with their ordering system: It's a bit confusing. You have to specify what you want on paper, and there are no sizes, just one size (no kids sizes, either). Burgers only come as double patties -- there's no option for a single patty. My burger was OK. None of the burgers come with sauce of any kind; you have to dispense your own into a little cup from a big vat, and then figure out how to add it to your already assembled burger. I was a bit shocked that our meal was $48, when we only got three burgers, two fries, a water and two beers. That seems like a lot for the food we received. They have you by the cajones here, though, and they know it -- are you really going to leave this huge hotel to travel somewhere and get cheaper food? You probably won't, so they know they can charge more.
google avatar

Sean M.

Yelp
This place is a mediocre hamburger that is never open. There is no point to having this place take up space in Opryland as the whole week I was here it was open ONE day. The food is about as middle of the road as it gets, same paddy, buns, and toppings as you get at any other of the restaurants here. It gets a bonus star for the cool Pepsi machine.
google avatar

Kimberly M.

Yelp
FRIES TO SALTY!!! Burgers were delicious!! Love the quantity of french fries this place gives too!! I'm one of those people who loves eating leftover french fries for later. I don't care if they're cold! This place would have received 5 stars if they didn't over salt the french fries to the point where it was inedible . The fries were SO salty! Too salty we couldn't even eat them. What a waste!!
google avatar

Yelp
Honestly, considering this place is in the Gaylord, it was really a good burger. Stax is on the "cheap" side of eats here meaning you're going to spend $15/pp for a meal. That said, you actually get a lot of food. Burgers are "build your own" style - you can get beef, turkey or veggie for a flat $9.50. They don't charge extra for things like cheese or bacon which is cool. Toppings are fairly limited but will please most. A meal is $14 and gets you a giant pile of pretty good fresh fries and a refillable fountain drink. If you want beer or a shake, they can do that. I opted for a turkey patty with bacon, pickles, lettuce and cheese and honestly it was both filling and tasty. The bun held up. The staff was nice. I drank a ton of iced tea with pellet ice. If you're at the Gaylord, for the $ you probably can't do better honestly.

Tyler H.

Yelp
Remember those microwaved hamburgers in middle school that tasted like rubber? Yeah, those are gourmet compared to Stax. There is a reason why they are only $15 and 1/3 the cost of everything else at this hotel. But don't worry, as you are trying to enjoy that piece of rubber meat, someone will ask you if you can take a picture of them because why not. Should have went to McDonald's....

Amy C.

Yelp
I mean seemed a safe quick option to grab and go. Food came up fast. Made to order was totally wrong but I just asked for the missing pieces but when I went to put it on this is how the burger was (see picture) multiple pieces with no sear. No flavor. Fries were delicious- only saving Grace. Skip it
google avatar

Ray W.

Yelp
Under $20 for a burger, fries, and shake at this fancy resort seemed like a good lunch deal at first, especially after paying $110 the night before at their steak joint. But, I swear, the burger had to be the saltiest burger I ever had in my life. So salty, in fact, that half way through, I threw away what was left of the patty and finished my "lettuce, tomato, and onion sandwich." Fries and shake were okay, but nothing special, except they give you a thick paper straw to drink your shake with, only when you try sucking, all you get is air seeping through the straw. Idiots.
google avatar

Ashley K.

Yelp
I'm sure the other reviewers have their reasons for such low star reviews, but we were pleased with our food! The ordering system isn't clear for a first timer, but we figured it out. The burgers were cooked fine. Fries were good, but the chips stole the show! Almost every restaurant in this massive hotel has 3 lot less stars, so this was a pleasant surprise for a lunch meal!
google avatar

Jeff A.

Yelp
Underwhelming & Greasy Burger If you're looking at for a burger at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel this an option. This place should and could be a great burger joint with a name like Stax but it was not. Entirely too greasy for a burger at a resort like this. Nothing but 2 beef patties and disappointment on a bun. But when your choices are limited The Gaylord is more interested in your money than providing quality food choices.
google avatar

Kaeley G.

Yelp
It was pretty good! The staff were very nice which I always like. The burger was pretty decent, nothing crazy. My husband enjoyed his fries, I enjoyed the chips. A solid choice if you're hungry and visiting the hotel.
google avatar

Kristin S.

Yelp
Very reasonably priced for inside a resort. Simple tasty burger with a beyond beef option.
google avatar

Shub N.

Yelp
I don't think you can go wrong with this place...it is nestled in the Delta Portica of the Gaylord Resort...there are different restaurants in various places at the resort...firstly the scenery was so nice as there is an indoor river where you can get a boat ride and watch people sail on as you eat... You basically build your own burger and they have the traditional beef burgers but also offer turkey burgers and veggie burgers...you complete a card of the kind of burger you want and your toppings and sides...I got the turkey burger with fries...your burger basically comes naked (unless you order toppings) and you get the condiments from the condiments stand...my burger was juicy and filling...the fries are regular thick fries...all together it is a basic burger joint that will fill you up if you don't feel like venturing out to Nashville for a meal you can eat right at the resort...
google avatar

Kayla S.

Yelp
for inside a resort, very reasonable and honestly really good. it's a burger joint, you're gonna have grease. they're fast and super inviting and don't rush you even with a line. they cook that calls your order is also super sweet. (for anxiety they're inviting, don't worry.)
google avatar

Mike P.

Yelp
I thought Stax had pretty good burgers and fries, which is what we wanted when we came in. Contrary to some of the other reviews here, the food was good and fast. First, you fill out a paper order form to build your own burger. You pick the type of meat, cheese, and several toppings. You also fill out what you want for your drink and side on the same sheet. We had a party of 7 and each filled out their own and we put it together in a stack (STAX haha). When we took it to the counter, they had our order in the system in about 2 minutes and food on the table in about 7. We were in at about 1 on a Sunday, so just after the lunch rush? The total for our orders of 5 burgers and fries, and sides of fries for the kids, plus drinks and a couple beers was just over $70, which is half what we paid for the same thing at the sports bar in the Gaylord the night before. All in all, I thought the food and service was both good, and delivery was fast (which is what you want with young kids waiting to eat)

Leo M.

Yelp
I got diarrhea after eating at this place, and it's only a little cheaper than the other place, I don't recommend it unless you don't mind. will never eat at this place.
google avatar

Ryan M.

Yelp
STAX is one of my favorite burger restaurants. They allow you to create your own meal. The location of the restaurant is great. It is right next to the fountains. I watched the fountain show while eating my burger. But you can't miss the shakes, the shakes are delicous. I definently recommend this restaurant to anyone that is at the Gaylord Opryland resort in Nashvile, Tennessee.
google avatar

Erika W.

Yelp
If you want something quick and easy to eat, then this is the place to go. The bean and chipotle burger is awesome. Be sure to add the slaw to it. The fries are also nice and crispy.
google avatar

Kara Z.

Yelp
I think this is a cool place! It is one of two more affordable options in the Opryland Resort near the convention center. I love how you take a menu and pick whatever you want- chicken, hamburger, turkey burger, white, wheat or kaiser roll, then what kind of cheese and then up to four toppings and then if you want fries or chips and a pop, beer or shake. I like that you have everything all there on the little card so there is no question. The long line moved surprisingly quickly. The people working there were very friendly and positive and efficient. I got the chicken- it is a seasoned chicken breast and they give you two (I took one off- it's a huge sandwich) and the wheat roll was really fresh and tasty. I love how they have the option of grilled pineapple as a topping- yum! They don't skimp on the bacon, if you choose that, and that made me happy. The fries are kind of medium-thick and they have a lot of seasoned salt, ranch, BBQ, and jerk shakers to add more flavor to the fries. They have free refills on the pop (Coke products) and also offer bottles of water or tea (but no unsweetened tea- bummer). My meal (sandwich, fries and Coke) cost $11.14. There isn't a ton of seating but your food comes in a little takeout container so you can easily find a place on the steps by the cool fountain to sit and eat. Good food and good idea for a quick restaurant!
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
We were in Nashville and my son wanted to see the lights and Christmas trees at Opryland. While there, we decided to pick a place and eat before leaving. We settled on STAX for dinner and placed an order. The staff was friendly at the counter but the back end seemed less focused. I saw them have to correct several orders after serving them up for delivery to the customer counter. This added time to get our order that totaled about 15-20 minutes to served after ordering. The food was okay but certainly not spectacular or anything. The fries were better than the burger. The bottom of the bun on my burger was torn in half and yet they still served it??? All-in-all, I was less than impressed for having paid $33 for two burgers and drinks. I probably would not choose this spot again if I were there. The only reason for two stars is because the front end employee was very nice.
google avatar

Ari S.

Yelp
I got the veggie burger and it was perfectly adequate! A little spicy. Dry. Somehow managed to be both a little bland and spicy but overall not bad! I finished almost all of it which is saying something for me because burgers aren't my favorite. But the service was really great, super fast and helpful. All in all not bad. But a bit pricey for what it is.
google avatar

Gary C.

Yelp
Ok just had the build your own burger with cheese plus bacon and it was great!!! I licked fries for my side topped it off with a Root beer. The place is small I found a seat outside and watched everything popping off during Summer FEst. Over all nice burgers just!

Jay F.

Yelp
Ok. This seemed like a reasonably solid choice for a quick, less expensive, less involved bite to eat. I was wrong. Odd hours made it a hit or miss for actually eating here. After a dismal dinner at Culaccino in Franklin, I had to eat something. Shortly after ordering, our food came out. It was almost too fast. Normally, this is a good thing. In this case it was not. The twin patty burger had no actual sear or color on it at all. It tasted as though it was steamed? Held? Microwaved? Something other than a nice flat top burger. It was odd at best. Like most of the food at the Gaylord, it was mediocre at best. Cannot recommend.
google avatar

Cody T.

Yelp
Looks like I should have checked yelp first. Dry burger. Gluten free bun falls apart in your hand. Long wait. I ate half of it some fries. I choked down the burger because I was hungry. It was pretty bad. Avoid at all cost.
google avatar

Jeff W.

Yelp
I should have checked yelp before coming here. WAY overpriced burger assembly line. Precooked burgers kept in a heating tray then slapped together after you "build your own burger." Premixed shakes out of a machine. An expensive but poor version of McDonald's. The friendly staff helps take the sting out of wasting your money.
google avatar

Lynn L.

Yelp
Good fries. Awful, unseasoned dry burgers.Hiw do you mess up bacon??? Inefficient ordering and pickup system where you have to fill out a card even though a live person may be open and available to simply recite your order to more quickly.

David C.

Yelp
Yes!! While a little on the dry side, this is a great, much cheaper side of resort dining. The service is extremely fast and a great place to go in and out. The fries are exceptionally salty while still tasty, and remain fairly good while cold. It is a little greasy, but still a good meal option.
google avatar

Lisa K.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious burger. 8oz double patties. Bun held up well to the toppings. Slightly pricey. .75 for each side other than tomato, lettuce and pickle.
google avatar

Sari M.

Yelp
Eh, okay. My burger was tasty, but only because I added extra toppings. The burger (double patty with tomato and lettuce) is $8 and each topping is extra. The sides are extra, as are the milkshakes and sodas. My fries were salty and calorie-dense delicious, my milkshake (vanilla or chocolate) was cold and consumed but nothing to write home about. This place had an amazing view (the interior greenery of the GayLord hotel) and fast, order at the counter service. Portions are large, so two people can definitely split a side and maybe even burger. Gluten free buns available.
google avatar

Lisa G.

Yelp
Choose your bun (white, wheat, kaiser), choose your burger (beef, chicken, turkey, veggie) choose your cheese (cheddar, pepper jack, Swiss, American, blue), choose your toppings, and choose your beverage (fountain, shake, beer, wine). Who doesn't like choices? I got the beef burger on wheat bun with lettuce, tomato, guacamole and bacon with a side of onion rings and a bottled water for $14.42. Definitely the most affordable restaurant in all of the Gaylord Opryland Resort. And you can even charge to your room if you'd like. I didn't realize why the name of this place is Stax until I was about to take my first bite. There are two patties on there! Big patties, not tiny things. Had I known that, I would've only asked for one. It was a lot of food. If you're a burger person (and I'm not particularly), this is a hit.
google avatar

Katy D.

Yelp
I attended a conference at the Gaylord Opryland last week and this place was so good we ate there twice! When other restaurants had a 30 minute wait this place got the food out quickly. They had no trouble getting out large orders and keeping them organized. They had vegetarian options with a delicious black bean burger and a variety of meat free toppings. The fries were so good and portions were very generous!
google avatar

Kristin A.

Yelp
I'm visiting from Chicago, here for a conference. This place has a friendly staff and the burger I created is awesome! Extremely fresh ingredients. The location is awesome and they have a few tables/chairs outlining the location. Great job guys!!!!
google avatar

Walter B.

Yelp
The best part about Stax is they are very very fast. Literally about 1 minute from my order till I had the burger. If you are attending a convention or there during busy times, you can find very long lines at many eateries, I found Stax always moving along quickly so I tried it. I went with the black bean veggie burger as I wanted something lighter for lunch. It was good, moist and there were plenty of condiments to choose from. I did not have any fries so I can't comment on those. Not the best burger but if you want something quick, it'll do. Hours are VERY sporadic so there's no telling if the place will be open or not when you visit.
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
The burger was "OK" but the notion that you're building your own burger is silly. You just specify four toppings (any more and they're .75 each!) and they cook it and stick it in a little box. For $14 I'd expect something better. Kind of tasted like a Wendy's burger only not as good. The saving grace was that the fries were quite good. Chris
google avatar

Lynne B.

Yelp
We were attending a convention at the Opryland Convention Center so were forced to eat there. We decided to grab a quick burger at Stax. It was awful. Pricey and tasteless. We ordered one combo (burger, fries, drink) and an additional burger and bottled water. That came to $27. I wouldn't have minded so much if it was quality food. The burgers seemed to be heated, not fresh-made and were thin, perfectly round patties that had no flavor. I only ate about 1/3 of it and only because I was starving.
google avatar

Marlo M.

Yelp
Great place to grab a quick meal when staying or visiting the Gaylord Hotel I was very impressed by quality of food.

Mark M.

Yelp
Terrible. Was told it would be a two hour wait but yet i counted 17 open tables as i stood by the hostess. Our friends were told 15 minutes so we sat with them. This place sucks! Ordered a martini and was told as they delivered it that they were all out of martini GLASSES. Dirty tables not cleaned off for our entire meal around us. Place is terrible. Hostess the one i spoke with was Brain dead as well. And to top it all off it was not even busy. Yelp offer negative stars this on would be a negative 5
google avatar

Regina H.

Yelp
Sad they were out of turkey burgers so I was *forced* to order the cow. All I needed was a burger to pep me up. It worked, wasn't too shockingly expensive just for the burger and was made quickly. Hot too! Perfect.

Marc R.

Yelp
Are these people @&$/) crazy? Almost $30 for two burgers and two fries. No drinks of any kind. The burgers are two patties but only 1/3 pound at the most. Good but nothing special. I asked if they had single patty burgers for my kids and she said they could leave off a patty. But at the same price!!! The balls.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Kind of a mall food court area in the Gaylord. Stax has decent burgers and fries to order at an almost acceptable price. they also serve wine and beer.
