I love this hotel! The overall experience is probably one of the best I’ve had in my decades of traveling. I stayed here on my visit to Chicago for Pride month and this hotel has so much character and little details that makes you feel special as a guest. Its vintage building mixed in with the cute pineapple style is such a vibe! All the staffs ate very helpful and friendly as well. They offer to help with everything without you even asking. I provided captions for the photos of my favorite things in this hotel. But I forgot to add that they have cute vintage bikes you can borrow to use around the city! This hotel is just amazing. I also wanna give a shout out to their bar tender Maya who’s so great at her job and is very hardworking. I hope the management rewards their staff. They all seem happy to be working here. I’ll def recommend this hotel to all my friends visiting Chicago and I’d def come back!

We had a wonderful three-day stay at Staypineapple in Chicago! The hotel is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The staff truly go above and beyond to assist with any requests, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Our room was spotless and had a nice view of the street. The location is perfect - walking distance to The Bean, surrounded by great restaurants and shops, and very close to bus stops, making it super convenient for exploring downtown. We’d definitely stay here again on our next trip to Chicago!

Would have been a five star review if it hadn’t cost us OVER $500 for one night. 20% Chicago taxes and fees made it extra special. This is getting out of hand. $20 spectacular breakfast should have been included. Oh and throw in some squishy pillows ours were fab, but rock hard. If you’re going for the European thing, they have down pillows ||||Stay was absolutely lovely. Loved this retro historical building so much, Location location location. Close to everything had a blast. Millennial park (and riots, on the particular day we stayed). ||||Walked to boat tour, architecture tour in the loop, could have stayed forever. In fact I liked the bikes that were available to tool up and down the lakeshore so much I may just have to rob a bank and come back again some time. My son got up at dawn and biked to the Robie house, he love love loved it. Great time, despite the raging riots and hard pillows and high price

Had a wonderful stay here for a girls weekend. We were immediately greeted by Darnell who was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel has great art deco style and a fun relaxing set up with the seating area and bar downstairs. It's in a great location for restaurants and metro stops. Very comfortable beds, and while I've read others complaints of the duvet, I actually found it very versatile and comfortable. There's a great water filling station (still and sparkle) by the bar.

Google
This hotel has some great positives - location is excellent, the building was beautiful and historic, it was clean overall, but the negatives just outweigh those when there are so many options in Chicago. First of all, I did not sleep well because they think they are in Scandinavia and only give you a down duvet, no flat sheet. I was far too hot to sleep with the duvet but then also cold because there is nothing else to use. This is America and we like flat sheets. I also did not appreciate the amenity fee that is not clearly stated up front. The amenities are things that probably no one uses or are not worth it, which I believe is the point, so the hotel can make more money. As others have said, I can buy my own $1 water bottle if needed, rather than be charged $25 a day. While our room had space for four guests, we were still charged a $30 extra guest fee for my son (three guests total). Plus another fee, which might have been a hotel fee or a government fee. I don't know because it doesn't say. Paying just over $700 for a two night stay in a small room (smaller than an average American hotel room) with a bathroom that needs updated just is too much, even if the location is good and the windows big. I understand Chicago is expensive and space is limited, but this was even more than NYC prices for a similar hotel. Again, it was fine but it definitely isn't anything special. I would not stay again.

The first room I got put in had the most gorgeous view! I asked to be put in a room with 2 beds, and the first room had a bed and a pullout. They moved me right away, absolutely wonderful service. The beds are crazy comfy BTW, the blankets are the best part. Cool, fluffy, and amazing on bare skin. Sashon made the trip unforgettable, he really takes care of guests and gets to know everyone.

Google
Great location, easy to get around. Great view of State Street. Cute+free (HA!) water bottle. Great robes. I don't like the individual bed quilts. Room very small. Broken coffee maker. Did not use bicycle. Did not eat the free cookie. Still charged an amenity fee of $25. per day to use the amenities that I did not utilize. Do all the Chicago hotels have this additional fee? It is like charging for an airline seat when you cannot stand up. Why not just make the room fee the room fee.

A Fantastic Stay at Staypineapple Chicago! I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Staypineapple Chicago! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel incredibly welcomed. They were warm, friendly, and truly went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. The hotel itself is stylish, clean, and full of charm. My room was cozy, the bed was super comfortable, and I loved the thoughtful little touches throughout. The location is great—close to everything I wanted to explore. I can’t say enough good things about the amazing service and overall vibe. I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Chicago! Special shout out to Nef, Darrell, Kassandra and April (sorry if I misspelled the names) amazing staff one of the reasons I would be back!

Yelp
We found StayPineapple for under $100 per night and they also have buy two get one free when booked 21 days in advance. Located just west of the bean, the hotel offers a historic feel with metal old school keys and lovely dark wood and white tile throughout. The bed offers TWO comforters which was a welcome site, and boy were the cozy beds! This place is the most pet friendly hotel of 2024, and we have not had a better experience in a hotel while staying with our dogs. The staff made it so welcoming and easy to check in, and we enjoyed a quiet part of the hotel with our three dogs. The bar and restaurant were excellent and offered a nice beer and spirit list. The staff here is what set this hotel apart for us, and we look forward to visiting again soon.

Yelp
Overall, a solid experience. The bed, as advertised, was extremely comfortable and definitely the highlight of the stay. We LOVED the double duvets. For as central as the location was, it was actually pretty quiet on our floor, so we both slept well. You get welcome drink coupons upon check-in, which we used for coffee and juice on our way out. We were staying here during our cross-country move from MA to WA, so our car was pretty packed with stuff. Luckily, they had hotel carts we could use. It's in a pretty busy area of Chicago so we didn't want to leave anything in our car at night. Valet drives your car to a lot about 4 blocks away; they don't have their own garage or anything. Definitely do the parking package for a discount. It is a dog-friendly hotel, however, it's VERY important to note that there are not any grassy areas nearby (not even trees or tanbark patches). I was expecting a dog-friendly hotel would at least have a little turf patch somewhere for dogs to go potty. The parks nearby do not allow dogs either, and security kicked us out. I did think it was a little pricey, but on the other hand, you're paying for the location. It's walkable to Cloud Gate, and we recommend Wildberry Pancakes for breakfast.

Yelp
I had never heard of this hotel brand until I had to book a room for a work trip. The staff was extremely welcoming and explained the details of the location thoroughly. They also provided great, local recommendations for bars and restaurants in the area. Michelle and Cassie were extremely hospitable. The room was cute and I love the features like the sustainable water bottle and the afternoon snack time.

Yelp
Sandy was a curtious and polite! I recommend her customer service. The food was very good and had a grest presentation

Yelp
I stayed here for a night during my stay in Chicago. I wanted a hotel close to Millennium Park, with quick access to restaurants, shops, and bars, and this hotel was one of them! The hotel is on a busy street, close to the shops and the park. I did valet parking since I wanted to avoid the hassle of finding street parking during that busy afternoon when I arrived in Chicago. The hotel is decorated nicely with holiday decorations. When I arrived at the hotel, it was extra busy with people trying to check in, and the crowd was rushed. I checked in, and this hotel is super-friendly to your pets with a pet fee. You can get bowls for your dog at the front desk, and when you get to your hotel room, they have this husky stuffed toy you can purchase, and half the proceeds go to an animal shelter. To enter the hotel room, you get your turn-in key like back in the day. The front door reminds me of the front door, where you have a slot where an old letter carrier would slip in your letters to your room; it was a nice touch when the owners of the hotel remodeled the whole hotel completely but left old details such as that to make it a unique lodging that separates it from other hotels around the area. Once you get situated, after you unpack all your stuff, you can enjoy a great meal and drinks from the restaurant and bar in the hotel's lobby. The food was delicious when I stopped by here for dinner and drinks. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I highly recommend this place to those traveling to Chicago who want a pet-friendly hotel in the middle of the shopping district and within walking distance of many things and Millennium Park.

Yelp
My experience was wonderful, thanks to Sandy in the restaurant. The Staypineapple Express restaurant's food was tasty.

Yelp
Sandy in the restaurant was an amazing server. She was very friendly and responsive. Food was prompt and high quality.

Yelp
This hotel is a classic. It took me a while to think through if I found it too kitschy or if I liked it and landed on the latter. There are pineapples everywhere!! They give out actual keys to the rooms as opposed to the cards. Everything feels classic including the facade, the lobby, and the elevators. Very cool. The rooms are nice and comfy. Fantastic prime location. The staff seems a little on the curt side but that's ok.

Yelp
I came into Chicago for 1 night to see a performance at the Chicago Theater. In researching nearby hotels, I was drawn to StayPineapple because of the high number of great reviews. Price comparison was competitive with nearby hotels for the same night. I got a package which included valet parking. This hotel is 1 block from the theater. Upon checkin I immediately loved the vibe in the hotel. Not necessarily all of the pineapple touches but the historic building that they preserved. They have awesome original elevators and old school rotary phones. The room itself was comfortable and they have a different/unique way of offering the bedding. They give you 2 duvets so there's no fighting over the blankets if you're sharing the bed! No plastic room cards here, you get an old fashioned gold metal key. I loved the subtle touches of this hotel. My stay came with a free drink from the bar downstairs so I stopped in for a glass of wine before the show. All in all it was a lovely stay and I would absolutely consider staying here again if I come back.

Yelp
This was one of the coolest hotels I've stayed in. Fun fact this was one of the only buildings that survived the Chicago Fire so I felt pretty secure in staying on a high floor. There's a eatery when you first walk in to your left, though we didn't indulge in any items from here. The decor was so cool and pineapples are everywhere, even pineapple cookies that were delicious. I kept expecting to see SpongeBob and Patrick in Bikini Bottom, lol. We stayed in a suite and enjoyed the beautiful views from our room. The room was cozy and plenty of space for 2 people. We had robes which were very comfy to lounge in. The bed was spectacular and so comfy. We really enjoyed our stay and would return. It's in a great location and the charm is on 1000. All staff were friendly and hospitable.

Yelp
I was glad that I was able to to book this hotel for the first two nights of our trip since we missed out on it our last trip. We're familiar with the chain and just love all their hotels so we had some high expectations. We had a late flight so we didn't get to the hotel until close to 1 AM. The lobby was pretty empty but huge since the restaurant/bar is right next to the check in desk. The guy who helped us check in was nice but seemed exhausted but made things go quickly. Very cool part is that you get an actual key to open your door instead of a key card. The hotel is on the older side and you can kind of see that in the room but it was still nice looking and pretty clean except some parts of the bathtub. The room wasn't too big but it was good enough for the two of us. The bed was stiff for us but it was clean. The shower's water pressure was very strong which I thought was great. Only thing we were really missing here was the slippers that StayPineapple hotels have. We did love the view of the street we got in our room. It was a short stay but overall it was a solid, well priced, and clean hotel in a great location and I would definitely come back next time we go to Chicago.

Yelp
Darnell was a great start to our visit. He was friendly and welcoming and took it upon himself to treat us to a cupcake because we were celebrating a birthday. Clean room, quiet hotel, excellent location, near stores, and CTA. Beds were very comfortable and the space was just enough.

Yelp
I've been wanting to stay at this hotel & finally did, & it was as great as I had imagined it would be! The staff were all extremely helpful, the room was clean with a comfy bed, large windows with a view of the city. Even better, the location was close to many stores, eateries & the Riverwalk. Will definitely return when in Chicago. Also, shout out to Michelle for making for a wonderful experience!

Yelp
No need to consider any where else to stayPineapple in Chicago. This hotel is friggin' AWESOME!!! Old school, they use actual room keys! Cassandra at the front desk was the perfect representation of how you'd want your guests to be greeted. This hotel is one of the few structures that survived the Chicago fire (thank you Cassandra for sharing the history). It feels throwback to a bygone era of speakeasies and Al Capone. I don't know if someone gave Cassandra a script of what to say and how to greet guests, but I think it's actually just her innate ability that made the first impression so impressive. Everything about this hotel is five star....ultra cool and hip. This coming from someone who is about to enter their sixth decade lol

Jack H.

Yelp
A lovely, well-priced hotel in Chicago's Loop, close to theaters and Millennium park. Their restaurant offers great, tasty choices in a gracious high-ceilinged, corner windowed room with a good view of street life. We had brunch for eight today and it was delightful.

Yelp
Stayed here for 3 nights over the weekend while visiting Chicago. You can not get more central than this! It's on a corner smack middle of downtown, down the block from the famous Chicago theatre, a few blocks from the Cultural museum and Millennium Park. Eateries, walgreens, Garrett's popcorn just all outside no more than a block. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here with a few hiccups here and there. First off, The "Naked Experience" was amazing! The most comfortable bed, sheet, pillow and personal duvet was heavenly! I had the best sleep. So much that I just went on their website and purchased the bedsheet and some pillow cases for my own bed! I just wish they sold a large king size duvet because I would purchase it immediately! Although the Queen size room was small it was perfect for 2 people. Views of downtown. I would say that on the website when I booked this room, it states that it comes with both a bathtub and shower combo and it was just a bathtub. I would have the listing updated because it's misleading! What else did I enjoy? Free coffee, free waters, 2 free welcome drinks downstairs. When it downpoured on our last day, we had a free umbrella we borrowed for the day. The robes were comfy. I even enjoyed having an actual set of key versus key card. The building is old and vintage and with a set of keys, it felt more like entering an apartment vs a hotel room. We stayed for 3 nights and it aint cheap but we only got room service for 1 day. Not sure why we were skipped a day??!?! Overall, good stay and I would stay here again. Just minor fixes here and there. The "pineapple" theme is cute. Though, not sure if there's any connection to "swingers" although pineapple is is also a symbol of hospitality.

Yelp
Chose this hotel as its central to all the sights my mini-me and I were going to explore while in Chicago. When looking at hotels, I really loved the decor and history of the build. Fun fact: It was the first Chicago building that had large full glass window panes, which was a big deal as windows were typically smaller. Our checkin was great, got a room early which is always appreciated and was upgraded to a corner suite. They give you drink cards for a complimentary treat which was appreciated. Great cappuccino in the lobby restaurant. Will definitely stay here again when I'm back in Chicago.

Yelp
This is NOT the Atwood I remember. From start to finish with this place it was a disaster. I ordered multiple snack packs before arriving and didn't get a bunch of the items I paid for. The room was filthy - hair tumbleweeds on the floor, wrappers around the living area. Things were also broken - a pipe in the bathroom under the sink leaked and we stuck the garbage pail under it because it was bad and this was at bedtime so we weren't about to either call and have to change rooms or have a repairman in here. Blinds were Broken, chips on wooden furniture. The room, even though an executive King, was tiny. They'd be better off with pocket doors because you can't fit more than one person in the bathroom without hitting something and if traveling with kids, it is horrible to try to accomplish baths. Same with the bedroom French doors - unnecessary and a huge space sucker. Better insulation for windows is needed as well with the constant ambulance and police sirens at night. And, the Wi-Fi was awful. The instructions to be able to stream Netflix or other apps to the televisions never worked either, so forget movie night because they have no premium channels on the tv. And one last comment - if you advertise on your in-room tv that there will be eggs hidden in the lobby (presumably for children to find) perhaps think about what this looks like in practice.

Yelp
Loved the location of this hotel. Central to everything we wanted to see during our 3 day stay. All the major sights were walkable. It's a historical landmark. It used to be Reliance built in the 1890s- a building designed by Burnham (who designed the Chicago World Fair), then the Burnham Hotel, and now Staypineapple. The inside is beautiful, the doors use actual keys instead of key cards. The staff is really friendly, helpful, and welcoming. You get a complimentary drink at check in. The view from our room was great. They're smaller rooms, but that was something we didn't mind considering we spent most of our time sight seeing during the day.

Scout C.

Yelp
Amazing!! everything is so close! there's a nice view, nice room, was clean, even comes with a desk! has free coffee, free water bottle, comes with a stuffed husky that has a pineapple hat, cost money to keep it but that's ok, nice bathroom, big windows with huge curtains, two peek holes in the door (one for if you're short one if you're tall) big shower (doesn't have a bottom part but its cool) cool pineapple toilet paper, nice lights, oh! and it's a BIG bathroom, glass cups, clean beds, comes with three big drawers to put your clothes in, comes with a stand up to rest you're suitcase on, water park, looks about three to five minutes away, has a restaurant on the bottom floor, wooden bed frames, comes with a robe, came back for exploring, some of the city and employee gave a bunch of free cookies, yeah! staypineapple is a great place to stay! 10/10!

Yelp
MarShay and Cass are amazing ladies at the front desk! They helped me figure out so many things and were super kind and thoughtful.

Yelp
A great location, historic architecture, nice perks (complimentary cocktail and delicious cookies), friendly staff (especially Michelle at the front desk), and its dog-friendly policy, made this the right choice for our Chicago 2 night stay. Thanks staypineapple!

Yelp
Absolutely love this hotel! So many thoughtful and cute pineapple themed options throughout experience. Even when arrive you receive a delicious pineapple sugar cookie that I loved so much I bragged at check out about it and they gave me another one! Very cool old building with great location. Hard to compare this to any ordinary hotel experience as I loved the theme and thoughtfulness of whole experience. Even had comfy pineapple robe for each guest. Always trying to find reasons to stay here and live locally because it's so fun!

Yelp
Great hotel stay, clean, friendly staff, dog friendly. There is a restaurant & bar in the lobby. Upon check in you get a coupon for one free beer, wine or coffee. Unlimited water bottles, coffee & tea in the rooms. Great little historical building that has been nicely converted to a hotel. Loved the fact that the rooms still use a key instead of a key card due to using original doors. We were on the 14th floor, great view. It was too cold but there are bikes to rent for free included in your stay. Docked one star for the $15/day amenity charge for the wifi coffee water bikes....think they should just include it in the room price. Close to multiple train and bus stations.

Yelp
Stayed here for work and the pineapple theme is cute. Pineapples everywhere. Check-in was easy. The room was clean. There was a complimentary drink. Overall a great stay and you're around the shopping! Restaurants around there do close early, so make sure to check what's open early on.

Yelp
My company held our retreat in Chicago, and Staypineapple was our host hotel. Some members of my team were able to check in early, but my room wasn't available until 4 pm. The hotel has a classic art deco theme with the wrought iron decorations on the elevators and large wooden doors. I had a standard room facing AMC and Anthropology. There were a lot of cute pineapple touches throughout the room such as the pineapple toilet paper, electronic charging station, pillows, and mugs. The room was kind of small and I had to make a point to not bump my shin against against the bed frame. The bed was very comfortable with several pillows for your comfort. There was a little wear in the bathroom. The ceiling was peeling and the shower had some stains on the wall. As part of their amenities, the hotel provided a free welcome drink upon check-in, free water throughout your stay, and pineapple shaped cookies during the evening. For guests traveling with you dogs, doggie treats are also provided. Staypineapple is in a great location. If you're not interested in eating at the in house restaurant, you can go next door to the food hall for a variety of restaurants (sushi, lobster rolls, hot dogs, donuts, sandwiches, adult cocktails, etc). Macy's, Prime Mark, Target, and Garrett's Popcorn are a few of the prime business in walking distance from the hotel. I enjoyed my time at Staypineapple and would visit again.

Yelp
We stayed here in the Fall 2021, Winter 2022, and Spring 2022 so it was like our home away from home and the staff treated us as such. The rooms are smaller but they are well appointed and being in the old Hotel Burnham made it unique and memorable. The location is wonderful and we had the pleasure of spectacular views from each of our rooms. We had rooms ending in 07 and each time we went up floors. We also went to the Atwood for food and drinks a few times and we're well taken care of.

Yelp
This past April, I attended a conference in Chicago. I decided to spend a couple of extra days in the windy city to do some sightseeing. My friend from Chicago recommended a few spots to stay, with the Staypineapple being her favorite. I'm so happy I took her up on her recommendation as this hotel is awesome. And I'm not just saying that because my favorite fruit is pineapple. First off, the hotel is in a great location centrally located just a block or two from Millennium Park and the bean plus many popular attractions, restaurants, and stores. Upon check in, they give you a pineapple cookie which was a nice touch. The hotel is very much pineapple-themed with pineapple-shaped toilet paper, and other pineapple decor. It's funny. They also set up their beds and provide robes to encourage you to sleep naked so hey if that's your thing you're in good shape here. It's a historic hotel so that aspect is nice too. Super clean, super comfortable, you can't really ask for much more. They also have a hotel bar and restaurant. As part of your stay, you get $10/day to spend where you see fit. Food, drinks, or snacks. The drinks are overpriced but it is a hotel bar so it is to be expected. I would gladly return the next time I'm in Chicago.

Yelp
Take this review with a grain of salt. Stay Pineapple, An Iconic Hotel, was a bit of a letdown for me, mostly thanks to one particular employee, a half clean room, and the pandemic. Check-in was after 4PM on 4/3/2021. Check-out was by 12:00 p.m. on 4/6/2021. We were allowed to leave our car at the curb out front while getting our hard copy keys and bringing our luggage up to our room. The room was admittedly smaller than I anticipated even though I read the reviews and can tell by the pictures this would be so. In our room, the smoke alarm was half hanging off of the wall. The bathroom was marginally clean. Quite a bit of long hair everywhere that wasn't mine. I paid for two nights and got a third free for a deluxe room with two queen beds and private bath. The rate on 4/3/2021 was $149.00 and on 4/4/2021 was $169.00. There was also a nightly amenity fee of $15 (multiply that times 3 even as the third night was free... fees still apply!). Altogether with the city, county and state lodging fees, my bill came out to $426.20. My brother asked the front desk person in-person to have a new towel sent up. After waiting nearly 12 hours, it never happened. I'm guessing that because he forgot to wear his mask back down the elevator that the female night employee sloughed his request off. Ultimately the point of the matter is she said she would have it sent up and didn't follow through. This was just one of a few unfortunate interactions with her. There were no cute little pineapple cookies like they kept advertising. The same front desk person rambled on about how they are shipped in from Seattle now and all of the local bakeries weren't good enough for the sweet tooth aficionados, meanwhile talking smack about the higher ups that made these decisions. She was a real Debbie downer. I love the details inside and on the building itself. I even like the fact that they still use real keys. It's within walking proximity to an array of places in Downtown Chicago. A short drive to others. However, parking is not included in your Staypineapple bill. And they recommended the mediocre parking garage at Wabash and Rudolph. Their website mentions another one, but in person they mentioned this one. If you use this garage, I recommend the mobile app "SpotHero" to save a little on money. TIPS + dog-friendly hotel + beach cruisers are available for checking out the local sights OVERALL It was a good experience overall, however, a moderately clean room and that one employee with whom my brother and I interacted on several occassions made only half efforts to ensure a marginal sense of hospitality.

Yelp
Wilbert is the best bartender I have EVER HAD. He was so kind and amazing - and of course hospitable. Wilbert made me want to live in Chicago. I am always and forever Team Wilbert.

Yelp
The bedding is divine. Vibe was eclectic & trendy and the marketing is spot on. Is it a bonafide "swingers" hotel... publicly no. But underground peeps no better.

Alyssa K.

Yelp
As soon as you walked in you were greeted by friendly staff that were friendly your whole stay! Everything everywhere were pineapples it was SO hip and cute! Grabbed cookies, water coffee that were amenities but than charged $20 at the end of checkout for, which was kind of confusing but figured this is something new that hotels do? Not sure. Lovely view from room, comfy bed, perk was having the mini fridge. The queen room the walk way is very spacious! Tiles were cracked in bathroom and shower was alittle caulked up if you don't mind that, that won't bother you. This hotel had everything we needed! And very great location to walk anywhere! At wood was delicious! I Would stay here again!!!!

A friend turned me into this place, which I'd never heard of. It's a very clean, reasonably priced, trendy place in a convenient location. Will definitely look to book Staypineapple hotels on future travels.

Yelp
Boutique experience in the middle of the city. The team--Cassie and Marshay in particular--went the extra mile. The cookies are the best.

Yelp
Great location, easily accessible to downtown, ambiance was amazing, had a new twist to an old architectural building! Fun friendly vibe, upon checking in your given two actual brass type keys, haven't seen that in a while. Elevators have the 1920's vibe, we stayed in an executive suite which was very clean, roomy and bed was extremely comfortable. It also came with two comforters one for each of us, shower towels were extra large and perfect for drying off after a shower. Staff was very informative and friendly/willing to help. Bartender Michelle was absolutely great easy to talk with, very knowledgeable on drinks, beers (hotel specialty pineapple beer and old forester's stay pineapple liquor) Will definitely stay again and recommend to friends! The only thing I would recommend is, if you love a dark room to sleep in I suggest that you bring some sleep eye cover thing as some of the sunlight does sneak in.

Yelp
The worst customer service. The staff is extremely rude and treat you like you are a pebble in their shoe. They "clean" rooms every other day and do not clean the trash or provide fresh towels. The housekeeper re-folds used towels and makes the bed. Based on my stay this Labor Day weekend, I strongly recommend staying away from this place. The front desk staff, Michelle, Sashon, and Darnell need additional training on how to speak with guests.

Yelp
Honestly, one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at, and I've been blessed to stay at some pretty good ones. The room was clean, and the staff (surprisingly, all of them) were great. When we needed fresh towels, they were brought to the room incredibly fast. I want to give a special shout out to Darnell and Cassie. They were there the majority of our time there, and they were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and always asking how they could help. I want to reiterate that all the staff was that way, but those two (over the course of 3-4 days) were just incredible. But yeah, the location was great, the room was great, they kept the drinking water flowing, etc. My kids enjoyed the pineapple cookies, and my son loved the pineapple water. If I had a complaint, it's that my daughter wanted the stuffed animal (the dog) that I didn't want to pay for, and she was cranky. But I'll take that every time.

Yelp
This hotel was almost 5 stars, but staffing was inadequate and there were waits to get anything. IMO, staff was doing a great job -- but management really needs to have another employee or two on site. We also had to share one key (actual metal key) because they didn't have a second one for us, and they were so short-staffed that I think making our duplicate skipped their mind (in their defense, I only asked for it once following check-in, and the person who could make them was not on duty.) That could've been problematic, but we made it work. Our executive king suite was perfect for a combined work/play stay. Corner view was awesome. High ceilings, huge windows, great shades (not blackout but good enough.) Reasonable price for a Su-W stay. Very clean and spacious for two of us to be able to work and get ready to go out. Nicely appointed. Pro tip: Don't forget to use your daily allowance for snacks and drinks! You're paying for it as part of the amenity fee and it does not carry over from one day to the next. I've stayed in a couple of StayPineapples, and this was different in one aspect...this is a conversion of an older building, so it has a bit of a historic feel. While modernized, it does not have the ultramodern hipster feel of some of the other Staypineapples and similar "millennial hotel" brands. Those looking specifically for that upscale hostel/hotel with bustling lobby bar vibe would probably be happier at the Freehand. On the other hand, those wanting a more typical boutique hotel experience will love this Staypineapple (for example, my Mom could stay at this Staypineapple happily, but she'd be overwhelmed by the "crazy kids" and free CBD product samples at the Freehand lol.)

Yelp
Staypineapple is full of history, it was build in 1807 and it use to be a bank. Nothing much has really changed from the bank era though. However, I love history and I appreciated seeing the original structure, elevators, doors, and windows in tack. I think the rooms are charming and have just enough updates. This hotel is the perfect place and location for you to view the Chicago Thanksgiving Parade. I could view the parade from my tenth floor room with no problems. In addition, when I walked out the hotel I could stand anywhere and had a perfect view. If you're hungry there is a small dining area within the hotel called the Atwood. I dined on a light dish which was a club sandwich and salad. Later, I enjoyed the $10 per day snack credit in which, you can use at bar for alcoholic beverage or on your favorite candy, cookie, chips and etc. I think this place is charming and perfect for the entire family, including pets. Millennium park, stores, and other restaurants are minutes away!

Yelp
I wish I could give this 0 stars. I almost died twice while staying here due to the amount of dust coating and blowing from the vents. I went into anaphylactic shock twice. I almost died twice.

Yelp
We had a lovely two nights at Staypineapple on Washington. The valet, front desk (Jack was our fave), complimentary drink, bartender and common areas were all welcoming and very inviting. We decided on a higher level floor and the views made it worth it. The room was very small for a 'deluxe king' - however the bed was very comfy - even if we were hitting our legs on it repeatedly when trying to maneuver thru the room. My only gripe was the bathroom sink leaked all over the floor our entire stay. Before we unpacked and settled we advised them and they offered to have a Maintenance man come work on it while we were there. We felt unhappy with that as we didn't want to be in the room waiting for the maintenance and we didn't want to leave our belongings and not be there either. I wished they'd had offered to just move us as we noticed it right away before settling. I wouldn't let this stop me from using this hotel again or referring it to someone. Just note room 1405 needs the sink plumbing to be fixed.

Yelp
A little outdated but that's expected for an older hotel! I decided to swing by Chicago for a quick weekend getaway with the hubs. We chose Staypineapple, @the Loop because it's in a central area (close to everything!). Our flight was delayed but they have a 24/7 front desk so we checked in with no problem. They have yummy pineapple water and a snack cart (you get a complimentary $10 credit per day to spend). There was only 1 elevator working out of 3 elevators and we were on the 6th floor so we didn't feel like walking up. The room itself was decent sized, we had a good view of the street below. My favorite aspect was definitely the comforter, I hate sharing my blankets so it was great that they used two twin-sized comforters instead of one big one. We saw the iconic robes but we didn't feel like using them. Water pressure in the shower was not bad and there was enough towels/toilet paper to last us for our stay. Would I come back? I most likely would because of the location, and this hotel just has so much charm! The front desk people were also very nice and helpful.

Yelp
I learned about this hotel from reading positive reviews on a few different sites and I went ahead and booked our stay. I will count that as one of my best decisions! This hotel is a totally fabulous place to stay. - Service: top notch!! Everyone, from the moment of arrival, was so attentive, friendly, helpful and seemed happy to assist. I wish I had gotten more names, but a shout out to Darnell who arranged our boat tour and provided breakfast recs. The young lady who gave us an umbrella to use for an unexpected rain storm, the fellow who helped is with our bags and the gentleman waitperson who was so nice at the Atwood! The service doesn't stop there, it's all around you. The room is clean, and housekeeping does a great job detailing your room each day. We felt taken care of the whole time. -the room: views and more views! Awesome corner room! Huge windows and lots to see! Two TV's, the duvet and bed are just as comfortable as the hotel advertises! Cloud-like and cozy at the same time! We loved that Dash, the mascot, greeted us when we arrived and we adopted him and took him home. The process go to a great cause! The architecture in this hotel is also something to behold! I don't want to get too lengthy in this review. I could go on, but to summarize: HIGHLY recommend!! The location is in the heart of the city and so convenient! Love this place and will be back!!

Yelp
Fantastic experience! Super fun theme for the hotel and the staff was so nice and helpful. We needed up buying 3 robes for our friends so that we could take the naked experience with us!

Yelp
Do you want to listen to nothing but horns and people drumming on buckets for hours at a time every single day? If so, then you should definitely stay here. If you are also hoping that the fridge will freeze all of your expensive leftovers and ruin them, then you are in luck. And the other elevator is still not working, something people have been complaining about for months. Will update more later because there are some positive things but we are a few hours into today's drum session and I am over it. Being on the top floor will not spare you. Never staying here again.

Yelp
Clean, comfortable, great staff, great views, interesting architecture. This not your standard hotel with all the typical amenities, but really in what you get in return is just better, and you walk away with a good experience.

Yelp
I needed to take an exam in the prometric center near by, if you have any errand to run in the loop this is an amazing location!! They are pet friendly and provided you with this amazing kit for your furr baby and they will prove treats in the lobby ! They have like a service called the everything button where you ask and they will help you out , for example I ask is there any microwave I can use at 6 am !? And they deliver one to my room!! The bed was comfy! And the customer service was amazing ! All staff were using face mask and your room would have a sticker that states everything is super clean ! You must wear face mask on hallways and common areas Only down side is we expected a bigger room but I think my husband is the one to blame for... Definitely recommended and coming back !

Yelp
We are currently staying at the staypineapple hotel. This is a pretty bad joke they are playing on us. I booked a suite and the room is really tiny. The king size mattress has a dip in the middle of it make ng it shaped like a V. If you move even an inch away from either side you fall into the middle of the mattress. They don't even give you a complete bedding set. The king size comforter is actually two twin size comforters side by side. Underneath that is a fitted sheet with no top sheet. A couple of the pillows feel like lumpy cotton balls. And the pillows are visibly dirty. I have stayed in some pretty crappy hotels but this takes the cake. We will not be back to this hotel again. Last time we spent less at got a suite at the Palmer House and the room was more than 3 times the size of this one. We had a memory foam mattress and everything was clean. We have to go out and buy fabric sanitizer because of the condition of the bedding. I'm am totally disgusted. Update: we complained about the sheets being visibly dirty, the fact that there is two twin size comforters side by side on a king bed that won't even cover your feet, and the pillows that feel like hard playdough. They gave us a king size top sheet and a twin size blanket to make up for it. We are on the 14th floor and both elevators are now currently broken. I'm going to demand compensation or contest the charge. This is disgusting, ridiculous and unacceptable.

Yelp
First and foremost, I am slightly obsessed with the StayPineapple Hotels - of which The Alise is one. I've been fortunate enough to stay in their hotels before (Seattle, etc), and the experiences I've had were key in my deciding to end my recent trip to Chicago with a stay at The Alise. It was a single overnight stay, but SO worth it. The Alise, like other StayPineapple Hotels, is a boutique property (used to be the Hotel Burnham). The location in downtown Chicago / the Loop is superb, including easy access to the CTA lines. The boutique feel of The Alise is complemented by little details like, say, real keys for rooms. Also? The little plush Dash dogs that sit on the bed to welcome you into your room... and that you can adopt! As the tag says, "By taking Dash home you're helping animals in need. A portion of Dash's adoption fee is donated to animal rescue non-profit organizations." Um, how can you not love getting an adorable plush dog where proceeds help rescue organizations? Also, let me just say... the bedding in StayPineapple hotels is one of my favorite details about these hotels, and The Alise is no exception. Their double duvet & European-style bedding is an experience unto itself. If it wasn't for the fact that I had to wake up and get ready for my flight home, I could have/would have made myself a little duvet nest and stayed in that bedding all day. Because I was only staying for the night, I just went for it and snagged a King Suite/Millenium Park view room. The room, and the view, did not disappoint... and waking up to the sunrise between the city buildings was a delightful way to end my stay in Chicago. Expensive room? Perhaps... but I considered it the perfect treat, especially as I was sitting in my poofy double duvet bedding and savoring room service of a fresh fruit + Greek yogurt parfait and sipping on some coffee. Seriously... the ONLY complaint I have about the entire stay was that I was hoping for a 6-6:30am breakfast (as noted on my room service order card), and my breakfast arrived just before 7am. That can't even register as a complaint because the card says your order will arrive within 30 minutes of your selected time... so it still fit the window available. I was just trying to plan my morning around that timing. TL;DR Love StayPineapple Hotels and The Alise did not disappoint. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite hotels in Chicago. It's in a GREAT location! Within walking distance of millennium park. L train is one block over. Very clean.
