"The fact that this massive steakhouse is right next door to Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills should tell you something. Yes, it’s part of a chain run by the Mastro’s people, but Steak 48 delivers on the luxe steakhouse experience, right down to the pan of complimentary pull-apart rolls that arrives after you sit down. A mix between croissants and biscuits, the fluffy loaf doesn't come with butter because it doesn't need it. Your table will still be talking about them even after the dry-aged porterhouse arrives." - brant cox

"Steak 48 is amazing. I love a good steakhouse. There's a luxurious personal service that usually comes with a steakhouse. I feel like there's like a pride in steakhouses that you don't find in like more modern restaurants, so Steak 48 is a really good experience. I think when you go to a steakhouse, a good cocktail to order is a tequila old fashioned—it kind of sets the mood for the food that's about to come. I'm a meat eater, and I'm very picky about my cut of meat. Anybody who has a Japanese Wagyu or the ribeye—because I like a fatty, marbled steak—I'm sold. Steak 48 has the highest grade Japanese Wagyu. I think it's A5. It just melts in your mouth...cooked to perfection." - brennan carley

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Carly and Hanna earlier this year to plan our intimate wedding reception at Steak 48 in Charlotte. From the very beginning, they were incredibly attentive, responsive, and truly invested in making our vision come to life. Throughout the planning process, they offered constant reassurance and support, always making us feel like we were in the best hands. On May 23, 2025, we walked into a space that exceeded our wildest dreams—it was absolutely breathtaking. This wasn’t a traditional wedding reception, which made me nervous at times, but Carly and Hanna’s professionalism and dedication gave us so much peace of mind. Their ability to understand and execute our vision was nothing short of incredible. I honestly get emotional writing this, because their work meant so much to us. They were always available to communicate and made us feel like our day was just as important to them as it was to us. Thank you, Carly, Hanna, and the entire Steak 48 staff for bringing our wedding dreams to life. Our out-of-town guests are still raving about the service and the experience. This restaurant holds such a special place in our hearts—it’s where we had one of our first dates, where my husband proposed, and now, where we celebrated our wedding. We look forward to many more anniversaries here. Thank you again for everything! Professional Photos by: She Believed Photography

To keep this short: Great service. Great (dark and romantic) atmosphere. PERFECT FOOD!! Be prepared to spend $150+ per person and have one of the best dining experiences in Charlotte! Josh Bagley provided exceptional service!!

Google
Had a gift certificate for steak 48 and used it for my husband and I’s 2nd year wedding anniversary. I wish I asked how to spell our waitresses name but it was Charla or Sharla and she was very kind, attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was beautiful, calm, intimate with an elegant vibe. The food was fantastic! The petite filet mignon was so tender and cooked perfectly. Reservations were a breeze, we were seated quickly, parking was easy. Highly recommend this restaurant for celebrations, anniversaries, birthdays, etc, we even got a nice hand written anniversary card and a complimentary dessert. Thanks for making our day even more memorable and special!

Google
Exceptional Dining Experience at Steak 48! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening. The service was absolutely outstanding—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to making our experience special. Now, the food—simply phenomenal! Every dish was expertly prepared, from the perfectly cooked steaks to the decadent sides and mouthwatering desserts. The quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite, and the flavors were rich and indulgent. The ambiance was elegant yet inviting, making it the perfect setting for a special night out. If you’re looking for an upscale steakhouse that delivers on both food and service, Steak 48 is the place to be. Highly recommend—can’t wait to return!

This place would be considered a special occasions place for 1st or 2nd date, Valentines, Mothers or Fathers day, Anniversary or maybe graduation. They have a steak that costs $175. They offer to change the table cloth if it doesn't suit you. Offered purse hooks for our handbags. Be prepared to eat here as there are too many options. I could just go there for dessert 🍨. Most people take a Steak 48 bag with them with leftovers. Also, Gourmand next door is awesome. It's like Dean and Deluca. Nice to sit outside.

Google
We've been going to the various "best" local steakhouses and this is absolutely the best experience so far. Top notch service and great food. Yea it's pricy, but that's expected. Our server, Sam, gave us great recommendations all night. Would definitely come back for a special occasion.

Google
Excellent with a capital ‘E’ - our server, Abby, was amazing!! The food was incredible and the support staff was great! Compliments to the Chef and kitchen team! Everything was phenomenal! Kudos to the management team!! This place is a MUST!!! Congratulations for making our anniversary so memorable!!

Google
Words cannot even describe how phenomenal everything was. I got a bone-in ribeye with Creme Brule Corn and my wife got the Chilean Seabass with the cheesy shells. The food was about a 20/10 (in all my years, this was by miles the best fish ive had and the steak I can say the same). The service from Andreas and Jerome was also a 20/10. Well worth everything, I cannot recommend this place enough!

Yelp
Graduation celebration. The waitress was very polite, but she did mess up our simple order twice. She did offer us the first time to keep the food, but we told her no the second mess up, because we don't eat a lot & we only wanted what we had ordered. For a high end restaurant , you would think the service would be great. I still left a generous tip, but I've had better. The food was good. The ambiance was good. I would probably visit again, but maybe not for a special occasion.

Yelp
Would recommend! The food was really good. First a skillet of rolls is brought out with cheese or garlic butter - or you can choose half and half - this is complimentary. For drinks, I had the Strawberry Rhubarb cocktail and hubs had dirty martini with blue cheese olives and a yellowstone on the rocks - they were all yum! Then we had raw oysters which came with six different fresh sauces and two Tabasco sauces. My husband said they were the best oysters he has ever had. The Mignonette was the perfect complement to the Oysters! The oysters are ala carte and were $5 each, but are market price. Then we had mains and aides. Hubs got the Kansas City Strip Medium Rare and he said it was perfect. I had the Iberico Pork Chops. For sides we had the Creamed Spinach, Au Gratin Potatoes and Corn Brulee. Everything was yum - I liked the Spinach the best and hubs liked the Corn Brulee best. We were too full for dessert, but iur waitress brought two mini chocolate chip cookies - which was a nice end to the meal. this is complimentary. The service was strong When we arrived we were seated promptly. We were offered white vs black linens for our table. We were offered three different water choices. Lots of context and details were provided about the dishes. The dishes were well paced and at the right temperature. We were never rushed. I dug the environment There was music playing throughout and the playlist was good. The environment was dark which you can see in the photos. Even in the 'bar area', the ambiance was nice. Good location A lot of nice steakhouses are Uptown with parking challenges. This being in South Park was easier to get in and out. There was ample street parking, a garage close by and valet parking for $8. Our bill was $300 for two, but definitely worth it for a special occasion with this level of service and quality of food.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my evening at Steak 48. My waiter was tired ( noticeably tired, even prior to stating he had been there since 9am with NO break). He did not go over the menu with us, but he did answer our questions. Initially he wasn't attentive to us, but eventually got better. The negative was the bread- it came to our table undercooked. By the time it was replaced we had our meal. The entrees were delicious from the sides of Mac &cheese, broccoli and Brussels sprouts to the bone-in steak and the pork chops. The pork chops were huge and two bones came on a plate. Cocktails were good, not overpriced and well balanced with the alcohol not so noticeable. I received a complimentary desert, for my birthday, which was delightful! I also received a personal card thanking me for celebrating my birthday with them. This was my 2nd visit- throughly enjoyed!

Yelp
Our first time here and it was amazing. 5 stars aren't easy to come by and really have to be exceptional in every way and Steak 48 was. The service was absolutely amazing. All i can say is ask for Jeff. He was great. From beginning to end just exceptional. We started with the salads which were great. First time i have had a warm poached egg on a salad and it was fantastic. We had the NY Strip which was very flavorful and the Meatloaf which was also a hit. All cooked to perfection. We went with the asparagus fries as a side and also very good. For dessert we had the Ultimate warm vanilla caramel cake which might now be one our favorite desserts. Some dessert genius created that one. Steak 48 is now on our rotation.

Yelp
So there is a lot to unpack here especially having dinner on a jammed Saturday night in January. The four of us arrived about 20 minutes early of our reservation so to pass the time of course we went to the bar to order a round of drinks. Kudos to the bartender who came around the bar to us to take our order. That was a nice touch and start to the evening. After 20 minutes or so (again we were early), we were seated in the back area. It was a secluded area that allowed the four of us to have a conversation in their booth. That was a real nice touch! Our server was amazing and very helpful on the food and wine suggestions in addition to sharing what the specials were. We started off with the Crispy Shrimp Deviled Eggs and 6 daily suggestions of the Chef's Oysters. Both were great but we loved their take on Deviled Eggs. So good. The only negative was their Wedge Salad. I love a Wedge Salad prior to a steak but my god there was waaaaay too much Blue Cheese Dressing. It was overwhelming to the point where the crunch of the salad was not available. My order for steak was their 45 day Dry Aged Bone In Rib Eye which was delicious on the outside but a tad tough in the middle. I ordered this medium rare and I think the issue is the hot plate its served on. We had this issue before in Houston at another steak restaurant and asked not to have the steak served on a hot plate as it's supposed to rest instead of "keeping it warm". I should've sent it back but I didn't since my Casamigos drink was kicking in. They acknowledged it was our anniversary so that was a nice recognition by offering a comp dessert. Thank you. On their website they mention how they prefer a jacket and button up shirt. However I did see a mix of people who took hold to their dress code and some who didn't so in other words don't overthink their dress code. Dress to your comfort but don't look like you rolled out of bed. Valet parking is available unless you wish to park at a nearby garage and take the short walk.

Yelp
Came here for a birthday dinner and was finally able to check this place out. Note: they do not allow outside cake, balloons or anything that disrupts the ambiance. Our reservation was not ready and we had to wait an additional 20 minutes after arriving. The ambient lighting is very dim. Their bar area is a u-shape and fills up rather quickly. They have a ton of staff hustling around so be cautious while walking. I had a glass of prosecco. Can't go wrong with that! For my app I ordered the fried calamari. Omg it was sooooo good. The fry was perfect. They also included fried shrimps. The jalapeños were a nice touch and gave a slight spice. The dipping sauce paired really good. For my meal I ordered a ceasar salad and filet mignon, medium well with truffle butter. The salad was ok, it didn't have any anchovies on top. My filet was cooked perfectly and the truffle better gave it an extra mmmm mmmm good taste. I would order all of that again. For desert we shared the beignet tree and butter cake. Both were really good! The presentation of the beignet tree was impressive. And they came with chocolate to dip. I'd order those again as well. Parking is super easy. There's a parking garage right next to the entrance and they offer the first 3 hours free. That's more than enough time to dine here.

Yelp
This was my second time dining here, and I decided to celebrate the New Year and my birthday on NYE. My first visit was at the bar, where the service was outstanding, so this time I wanted the full dining experience--and it did not disappoint. The entire experience was wonderful and accommodating. Initially, we were going to be seated at the bar, but I declined since I had made reservations a month ago. They quickly arranged a private table for us, which was near the kitchen but not disruptive. The food was incredible! The bread was so fresh and delicious. I enjoyed a glass of Malbec, while my husband had the Cabernet. We ordered oysters, steak, potatoes, mac & cheese, and Brussels sprouts--all of which were flavorful and well-prepared. While my steak did come out overcooked, the staff quickly addressed the issue and provided a replacement. To make the evening even more special, they surprised us with a birthday dessert and an additional dessert as an apology for the steak issue. I would definitely return and highly recommend this place to friends and family.

Yelp
In celebration of my husband's birthday, we decided to have dinner at Steak 48! This isn't our first time dining here, and definitely won't be our last. Each time the experiences feel even more elevated, and I think they can't top the last time and somehow they do! Our waiter Charles was top notch! Unmatched! We tried the fried lobster tails for our appetizer. So darn good. We typically do the lobster rolls or shrimp/calamari. You just can't go wrong. We ordered The Oscar filet migon Crab cakes Asparagus Mashed potatoes Can't wait to come back. Perfect ambiance, service and food! 10/10

Cecillia A.

Yelp
So parking can be tough. You can park in the parking garage is street parking. It is definitely in a busy area. This place is definitely up there. The price is pricey. The food was delicious and so were the drinks. I got the meatloaf and it was delicious. Don't miss out on the corn brûlée. It's so so delicious, so worth it. The only reason why I come here. Of course the steak is good. Expect to walk out with a big bill. Nice place. Pretty and fancy looking.

Tina S.

Yelp
When I say this my favorite restaurant in Charlotte. The ambiance, the service, cocktails and of course the food just great. I celebrated my birthday here yet again and they made me feel so special. The extra mile they go makes cost well worth it.

Ranan B.

Yelp
The food, service and ambiance is top notch! Perfect for any occasion. Everything I have tried here has been amazing. I could eat here everyday.

Darrell L.

Yelp
This was one of the best meals I have ever had. Like ever. From start to finish this was one of the best experiences. I thought that it was all hype, but Steak 48 delivered. Charles was an amazing server and I will definitely ask for him again. We had oysters and the sautéed shrimp Vance as an app. Both were great, but I will do just the oysters next time. My wife and I split a 12oz filet and it is served on a 500 degree plate. It literally melted in my mouth. The sweet corn crème brûlée was out of this world. Our dessert, the ultimate, did not disappoint. If I could give this place 6 stars I would. I rarely say spending $300 on dinner is a good deal, but here it is. I can't wait to go back.

Anthony H.

Yelp
Steak 48 has been in my list of go to steakhouses in Charlotte for quite some time. I finally had the chance recently to go and celebrate my birthday there. From the outside to the inside, Steak 48 is impressive from its decor, to the atmosphere and even the music played in the background. The ambiance is light and relaxing. Our wait staff was extremely attentive to all our needs and made great recommendations for my special occasion. They took care to find out if we had any allergies and they checked on us periodically to make sure everything was great. So, to say customer service is a top priority is an understatement. I ordered the regular 12 oz. Filet Mignon with Brussels sprouts as a side. The steak was perfect, from flavor, temperature and presentation. The Brussels Sprouts were very delicious also and cooked very well. I did order an enhancement of truffle butter to go with the steak and it was as expected, excellent. Again, their attention to food is an understatement. Finally, I was given a choice of any dessert complementary for my birthday and I chose the Triple Chocolate Bombe. It was a perfect end to a perfect dinner and dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend Steak 48 because they know how to do everything very well and we will be coming back again!

Yelp

Yelp
This place has yet to disappoint. We have gone multiple times and enjoy it each time. We typically get the 18oz bone in filet which is just excellent. This time we tried the burrata to start and not only was it perfect the portion was great. We also orders the 22oz bone in ribeye to split and it was great. The atmosphere is great and the restaurant is modern. The staff is attentive and does a great job.

Kimberly M.

Yelp
Celebrating my sisters 51st birthday with a table of six. This was my first time and definitely not my last Sebastian was our server and provided absolute impeccable service! All of dishes tasted amazing and we all were acclimated to the various dishes and dessert. The restaurant played some nice tunes, we beautiful ambience. We never felt as though we were shouting even though it was a packed house. Also I want to once again salute our server and his team!!! Much love Looking forward to the next visit

Steve W.

Yelp
First time at Steak 48 for a date night. Our server Meredith made our experience truly amazing! Her knowledge and presentation of both the drink and food menu were impeccable. The timing of our drinks, appetizers, main course and dessert were perfect. Our meal was outstanding and we recommend the bone in filet and veal chop. This was our favorite meal of the year and we will definitely be back soon. Cheer to 2025! Best, Steve and Julie

Ron R.

Yelp
This might have been one of the top 3 steaks I've ever had. It's hard to get a 6:30 seat but I'm glad we took the 5:30 option. The bill was $406.00 no alcohol but I might say it was worth it. I could not afford it often but it was extremely good.

Tianna W.

Yelp
I had a reservation set for my wife and I at 9:30, I arrived late but Nikole was sure to take great care of us at the host stand. The restaurant was quiet and the ambience was nice, we wanted to sit In the kitchen booths and they made it happen! They made it very special for us by putting rose petals on the table. Our server was Yolanda, she was a gem! She made some of the best recommendations so I'll definitely be asking for her every time that I dine in with them. The host, the server and the server assistant checked on us through out the meal so it made our time there well worth it. The things we had and ratings Elixir 48 - 10/10 Strawberry Rhubarb 10/10 Crispy Shrimp Deviled Eggs 9/10 Ribeye 22 oz 9/10 Potatoes au gratin 8/10 Shells and cheese 8/10 Corn creme brulee 8/10 Salmon (braised) 10/10 Beignets 10/10 Thank you Yolanda and Nikole for making this a very special night ! Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
All my local friends spoke highly of the place and I can see why. The service was perfect, the walnut old fashion was a must, the butchers cut steak and wagyu were cooked to perfection. Seafood fresh and the sides were all well portioned and cooked to perfection. Definitely worth the visit if you are in the area, craving good steaks and not watching the wallet too much...

McLain W.

Yelp
Wonderful intimate dinner setting and outstanding food. Plates prepared table side and the waitress was attentive and thoughtful. We'll definitely be back!

Cynthia R.

Yelp
So so so glad I've finally gotten to try this place out. After hearing so many good things abt it, I had to try for myself. It's very rare I go in a place with high expectations and they live up to them. I took my dad for his 81st bday and they made him feel so special. They had a card for him, and gave him free dessert of choice at the end. From the moment we walked in, customer service was amazing. Our waitress Meredith was so awesome! Friendly and knowledgeable. My dad got the salmon dish and I've never seen him eat so fast and finish ALL of his food in one sitting lol. He loved it that much. He was very impressed with the whole entire experience, and so was I. Was glad he had such an amazing bday thanks to the awesome staff and yummy food. I'd come back here over and over again.

Sharonda D.

Yelp
The service was great, server was friendly and attentive. We had reservations for my birthday. Establishment was quite dark, very dark. Could have been a bit lighter. That bread that everyone raves about was the least mentionable thing we ate. It wasn't all that for me. Everything else was up to par. The steak was well seasoned and had great flavor. Sides were good as well. The star of the show was the chocolate chip cookies at the end. Will be back to check out the rest of the menu.

Teearra W.

Yelp
I went here for one of my friend's birthday celebrations, and I must say the food ambience and service was immaculate. The best salad I've ever ate in my entire life and I knew it was good because I didn't care if I had any meat to pair with it. So many other things on the menu was good and would be in such a big group. I absolutely sampled a little bit of everything. It's definitely worth the price tag. Which really isn't so bad the last time I went I didn't really have to be on the budget, the next time I'll try the steak and say forget the budget

Patricia P.

Yelp
We had an amazing dinner at Steak 48. My husband went there several times whenever he was in Charlotte but it was my first time dine in at this place. We came before concert, so it's early dinner and we are not from Charlotte. The ambience of the place was romantic and perfect for date night or business dinner. My husband showed me the seafood case in the back and I kinda hope we can seat in the back since it has brighter light :) We were seated on the front area across from the bar. The room was behind the front desk/ usher table. Our server, Hannah, was very attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable of drinks and menu selection thru out our dinner. We enjoyed the lobster cocktail as our appetizer, the bread was warm and nice, my wine was nice and their old fashioned drink was too good! We had wagyu steak with seared wild tuna as our main course with side of mashed potatoes, and mushrooms. For the desert we ordered warm vanilla caramel cake that came with vanilla gelato and it was delicious! I recommend this desert. We definitely enjoyed our meal and would love to come back again to try different dish.

Yelp
We wanted to love a high end steak house close to home, but this missed the mark for us. Why? The overall experience we had was just meh, but that's not how you want to feel about a fine dining experience that costs $150+ per person. The first thing that we noticed was the music. It was unusually loud for a fine dining restaurant and it didn't fit the overall vibe. The music was disjointed crossing in and out of genres from Frank Sinatra to one hit wonders from the 80's. It was just odd for us to even notice it. Our baked potato wasn't fully cooked, asparagus was too al dente and our steak seemed like it was cooked in a cast iron skillet not a 1600 oven. It just felt like we could have made it better at home. When you go out and spend this kind of money you want to enjoy every bite. Maybe they have someone new in the kitchen where it wasn't inspected. I will say the drinks were generous so that was nice.

Jim T.

Yelp
Steak 48 in Charlotte is genuinely one of the best steakhouses / restaurants I have been to. The interior is nicely dimmed and the lighting sets a nice mood. We went when the sun was down and they lifted the black out curtains which added to the environment. The service was definitely some of the best I've ever experienced at a restaurant. Our server, Hanna, and the rest of the staff were super attentive and took very good care of us. It really is the small things that stands out the most: our server personally distributing sides to our plates, bringing out lavender scented wet hand towels after our dinner, staff individually labeling boxed leftovers by its name, complimentary dessert (for our anniversary, but there are other occasions they do this for as well). Things like this really stand out and make Steak 48 in Charlotte worth visiting.

Allison B.

Yelp
Well this place just has service down to a science. Our bartender Karen was also our server and estimated the staff is probably around a total of 200. Karen was perfect in every way and genuinely cared about her guests. We ordered the bone-in ribeye with seafood mac n cheese as a side. Also had a lovely beet salad, and burrata to start. The burrata was fresh and served with delicious tomato jam and pickled onions, but sadly didn't produce any milk upon being cut into. The staff was obviously happy which always makes me feel good about a place. Literally every person you walk by welcomes you on the way in and wishes you good evening on the way out. Ambiance was charming. Cons: 1. plates are so hot they continued cooking my medium rare steak the whole dinner to a mid well. I would request not to have that next time. 2. Pound for pound we both felt Del Fresco's is better from the ribeye to the dessert, but we loved the atmosphere here.

Lisa P.

Yelp
When dining at a restaurant known for steak, it had better be good. The beautiful Steak 48 delivered; prime bone in filet, cooked to perfection. Both tender and juicy served with a sharable side of whipped sweet potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts. Although, my son and I filled up on delicious warm bread and deviled eggs, we still cleaned our plates and shared the best dessert. Thank you so much to our server Michaela and team that took such good care of us. Everyone worked together flawlessly.

Karla C.

Yelp
From the valet to the front desk greeting, to our waiter Shawn to the food; it was all an amazing experience!! Shawn gave great recommendations and was attentive to our table all night! Ambiance is a little on the loud side and lighting is very dim but nonetheless changed our first time experience! My husband and I thank you for allowing us to fine dine for our birthday! -Karla & Kevin

Lauren K.

Yelp
We loved EVERYTHING. The food was incredible, the service impeccable and the atmosphere was elegant and cozy at the same time. Just a little forewarning: the saying "Big eyes, little stomach" was real that night. We ate WAY too much and waddled out of the restaurant...

Amarie C.

Yelp
The food and service here were excellent! The steaks were all so tender! The Crème Brûlée Corn...... OMG! To DIE for! You must order it if you like corn. Our server Elana was amazing and so nice and attentive. The food was so good we literally went back the next day! That's how good it was and just so happened Elana was our server again! Awesome!

Rose S.

Yelp
Expectations were high. The reality met half the expectation. The complimentary rolls make sure if anyone has an issue with cheese to request the sea salt butter rolls when the server initially comes to the table. These taste like milk bread and I would've loved some butter w/them. Be warned they'll fill you up quickly. Calamari and shrimp as an appetizer is a go. Light fry. The white sauce which is some sort of green Tabasco is a funky flavor that I didn't appreciate. The cocktail sauce was ok. The whipped buttermilk potatoes I don't know how they managed it but they tasted like they came from a box. I really don't know how they accomplished that. Needed some salt on the table for those even to be palatable. We each ate literally a bite and that was it. Creme brûlée corn who doesn't love corn w/a creme brûlée sugary topping Asparagus fries where's the seasoning? Absolutely no seasoning in the tempura batter. All the seasoning was dependent on that tomato hollandaise. I don't tolerate hollandaise well so can't say how that tasted or if that solves for the lack of seasoning. While the rolls were smoking hot, all of the sides were cold Not sure how that happens and really don't need the server to put the blobs from the sides on my entree plate. Now the entrees - this time, we did seafood My Chilean sea bass had lemon butter heavy on the lemon I'm not a lemon fan and the server had said it would be light and if that's light I'll take my sea bass w/a side of lemon in squeezed in my water. That's how much lemon it tasted like. I also was expecting that crunch the server had indicated from the bread crumbs. If there were any bread crumbs I couldn't tell. Would have helped tame the lemon butter. The Maryland crab cakes were heavy on the crab light on it being lump style. That was okay since there wasn't that much breading so being majority actual crab was great. On to dessert, it was my actual birthday so chose the warm vanilla caramel cake. It's more like an ooey gooey cake style cookie w/ice cream and a tower of fresh whipped cream. Being a caramel fanatic, I was digging to the bottom of that bowl looking for the caramel. Where's the promised caramel?? Key lime pie was my favorite part of the whole meal. Solid key lime flavor and a fabulous crust. Our server started off very stiff. She seemed to be stretched across at least 6 tables that I saw and of those 3 were parties of 4 or more so she was stressed I'm sure. I would love some butter for the rolls, salt just in general, warm sides and another option on sauces for those of us w/difficulty w/hollandaise like garlic aioli. The bathrooms - they need to distinguish a couple men and the remainder women. No woman wants to touch a toilet seat or see a wet floor and wonder what that it is. We were too full to try the end of the meal complimentary cookies or even think of taking them w/us. Watch those floors - I wasn't the only female I noted holding the rail down the stairs which were slick for those smooth soled shoes. It's noisy and tables are very close so you might make friends w/the table next to you. We will try again and next time w/steak.

Yelp
I must say, this is a hard place to get a reservation for, but if you can, it's worth it for the experience. The service is superb, ambiance is immaculate, and the food is delicious. I was able to try the fried lobster tails, Chilean sea bass, warm vanilla caramel cake and whipped sweet potatoes. I also had the stone fruit martini with my meal. So, I will say the price to eat here is a little delulu, but most of the food is worth it. The fried lobster tails and the sweet potatoes were definitely worth it. I would try something other than the sea bass, because it was just too plain. Cooked well, but plain. The bread that they give you to start is also flavorless. Those two dishes were my lowest ranked. The dessert was good, but I would try something else next time. It wasn't super sweet and I'm a sugar maniac! The drink that I had was so strong, but my judgement could be off since I'm not a big drinker. They also leave you with the shaker, because the martini mix makes enough for about a drink and a half. The cinnamon and sugar rim is what made this drink a winner for me. Overall, if you're celebrating something special, or just looking to treat yoself, I wouldn't think less of you for going here lol.

Yelp
This was hands down the best dining experience I've had to date. Yes, I've had great experiences, but Steak 48 delivered a stellar first impression and dining experience. From the moment we walked in, every single staff member greeted us and thanked us for coming in...it was a busy Saturday evening, and so many places would allow subpar customer service to account for the busy; however, that is a no go at Steak 48. Eye contact, smiles, head nods...I loved it! Having a reservation, we were promptly seated. The ambiance is now lighting, acoustics that allow for pleasant conversation, with a backdrop of a mixture of old school r&b and pop, among other genres of music at an appropriate volume. In the dining room we were in, there was a TV in the corner, I guess it was really situated for the bar area. The servers and the server assistants were amazing! Adam, our server, was enthusiastic, clear, and knowledgeable about the menu offerings-those on and off menu. I would trust any suggestion he made when it comes to the food. We started with the Deviled Eggs and the Roasted Beet Salad. The eggs come with a fried shrimp and Parmesan crisp. Absolutely delicious bite! The Roasted Beet salad was fresh, with red and golden beets, a light citrus dressing and roasted pistachios. It was a perfect opener. For entrees, we got the 22oz bone in ribeyes, our guests ordered the tomahawk with scallops added on, and the sides are family style, enough for 4 people. For steak add-on, GET THE TRUFFLE BUTTER, and the sautéed onions! Yum! For sides we ordered: sweet potatoes, potatoes au gratin, snap peas and truffle fries. The sweet potato soufflé is absolutely delicious! You can taste the butter and vanilla, it's not too sweet, just a perfect side dish. The potatoes au gratin were very flavorful-cheesy and creamy, delicious. How can you go wrong with truffle fries? You can, but they did not! Crispy outside and soft inside! And, the steamed sugar snap peas offered a delicious and crunchy texture. They have a great drinks menu and dessert options. The Cucumber Guava was a hit, as was the Stone Fruit Martini. To top off this great meal, they brought mini chocolate chip cookies for the table. We had opted out of the dessert, but we found a little room for the bite sized chocolate bliss! From the restrooms to the dessert, Steak 48 is a must have dining experience, and I can't wait to return.

Yelp
The food here was to die for. We all loved almost everything we got. If you're debating between the mashed potatoes and the scallop potatoes! Definitely get the Caesar salad with the poached egg on it!! It was the most amazing thing EVER!! We all 3 had steaks and they were all delicious. My sister had the 8 oz Wagu and it was fabulous!!! We are gluten free so we had 2 of the gluten free desserts. We really liked the peanut butter pie more than the chocolate dessert! The service was really great! They go above and beyond to make sure you're taken care of!!

Yelp
I don't even know where to start!! The food is Soo Soo good!! Like every single thing we tried, was so deliciously good!! Our waiter Charles was amazing!! We also found out the lamb chops were creekstone meat which made it that much more delish!

Yelp
Steak 48 was an amazing dining experience. I felt like a queen with 5 or 6 people serving our table of 4. We got the hanging bacon appetizer which was amazing! I of course ordered the petite filet which was prepared exactly like I ordered it and the sides - which are shared by the whole table - were delicious. We had a great time of fellowship with some great friends. If/when we return we would probably share a steak to keep the cost down. It is expensive so be prepared but the food and the atmosphere were totally worth the money!

Yelp
Steak 48 is worth every penny. The food and service are phenomenal. This was our second time visiting. Here's what we ordered this time, in addition to a bottle of wine: Appetizer: Colossal shrimp (plus the complimentary delicious hot rolls) Entrees: bone in filet, crab cakes with a couple added scallops. My husband got the filet. It was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and melted in my mouth. The crab cakes were HUGE and tasty. I could only eat one. The scallops were also huge and flavorful. Sides: corn crème brûlée, loaded mashed potatoes. Both are must! The corn crème brûlée was like dessert. So creamy with a touch of sweetness and crunch. Omg. Get the mashed potatoes too but get them loaded with cheese and butter and chives and all the goodness like we did. Dessert: caramel cake. Honestly all the desserts looked amazing. I wanted a sample of them all but I'm glad we went with the caramel cake! Also a tip... request a seat by the kitchen. You'll get a little bit of a show as you watch all of the amazing dishes being prepped for guests. You'll "ooh and ahh" at everything you see in the kitchen. The warm scented towels and courtesy chocolate chip cookies are also a lovely touch.

Yelp
Steak48 is premium dining at a cost. For me I don't mind paying the cost. I thoroughly enjoyed a night out at Steak48 with my girls for a birthday dinner. I have frequented this restaurant a dozen times and the service, food, and experience is always the same, Exceptional! I think they may have gotten more relaxed with the dress code since opening but do not be surprised if you are turned away due to dress code. I've seen it done before in the most professional way. Please read the website because it outlines what is allowed and what is not. If you are looking for an amazing diner spot with great service and savory dishes, Steak48 is it!

Yelp
Steak 48 was hands down the best food experience I've had this year. I will start with the one negative I had which was we weren't not seated in time. Since we were there for our anniversary, I was a little frustrated that I made a reservation and was still forced to wait to sit. However, the minute I saw the table my frustrations evaporated They had the table covered in roses which was such a beautiful touch. Our waitress made suggestions for items to try and everything was amazing! I loved the corn crème brûlée, the calamari & shrimp, and the creamed spinach. I can't wait to come back and try some new things!

Yelp
We got lucky, there's been a year wait at this restaurant and a few weeks ago we lucked up and got reservations. The restaurant is very cozy and quaint. Appetizers: fried lobster tail was amazing, cooked perfectly, the pork belly and shrimp were also delicious. Meal: Scallops, NY strip, Wagyu Ribeye (not pictured), Sweet Potato Casserole, Lobster Mac, Creme Brûlée Corn, Brussels. The sides were served family style. The portions were perfect, we had so much food leftover. Everything we ordered we loved, but let's give an honorable mention to Wagyu Ribeye that was so tender you didn't need a knife, just melt in your mouth. The scallops were so big I was generous and shared and still had plenty leftover. Our waiter was top notch, I definitely recommend this fine dining experience and I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Ambience is good and they have fast service and very welcoming place. I like the food but sometimes the steak can be better. The crab cakes is definitely a must get. Steak needs improvement especially for the price . Good selection of wine

Yelp
Our server Mary was fabulous & the steak was delicious, perfectly cooked (to be expected). Great service can make or break an experience, and they certainly do not fall short at Steak 48. Another thing I love are the unique dishes here - crispy shrimp deviled eggs? Sweet corn crème brûlée? They definitely have their signatures, and they're beautifully executed. You simply cannot pass up the warm vanilla Carmel cake either. Cocktails were on par. I had the 48 Rita with Mezcal and it was perfection. I will say it was quite loud (maybe I'm sensitive to noise) and the playlist was eh (to be knit picky!!). Overall, exquisite service & great meal! We will absolutely return!

Yelp
Came here for a quick dinner before leaving Charlotte. Upscale spot with a chill vibe. Service was fast and very impressive. Our waitress gave great suggestions. For entrees we had the petit filet and iberico pork chops. Both were cooked to the perfect temp and were of very good quality. Sides were corn creme brulee and creamed spinach. Both were very good. Definitely recommend the corn crem brulee. Each are plated for you when the meal arrives. Cant forget the bread service. We tried half parm/ half sea salt. Of course, both were good, but next time I'll get all parm. All of the food was very tasty. A warning, the plates come out sizzling, which they tell you. The oil popped our server in the eye when placing one of the plates on the table and popped me on the arm and cheek once they sat it down. Watch out for that. You dont have to worry about cold food here. Parking garage in the same building as the restaurant as well as valet directly in front.

Yelp
Overall, not worth the hype. We sat at the bar (we had a reservation) for my husband's birthday and they placed him directly by the service/ticket counter. He was hearing server conversations and the endless ticketing machine the entire night. The service was average. Initially very attentive then lackluster as the night went on. We had to remind our server about our bread basket half way through our entrees. I have been to a lot of nice steakhouses and honestly expected better food for the price. The tuna poke was flavorful but lacked a much needed crunch. The Caesar salad with a poached egg was delicious but my husbands egg was overcooked and not runny in the slightest. The steak was average. The sides we ordered were the shells and cheese and twice baked potato, both of which were good if not very rich. The twice baked potato would not order again. We ordered shrimp with our steak, one of my husbands shrimp was SEVERELY undercooked. It was so mushy and disgusting. They did correct this immediately and gave us three additional shrimp to make up for it. The drinks were good but the wine selection was severely lacking despite the exorbitant prices. They gave us free dessert for my husband's birthday which was very thoughtful. We ordered two espresso martinis at the end of the meal ($48!!!!!) and they were bad. Overall, won't be back and sad to have spent almost $500 on this meal. Were pretty disappointed as we had heard such good things.

Yelp
We went here for our anniversary and it was phenomenal! Staff was very helpful with menu and drink recommendations. As well as wine pairings. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. The food was delectable. Everything that we received was perfectly cooked. Well, seasoned and delicious. The ambience was very romantic it was just a lovely dinner. We definitely will be back for another special occasion.

Yelp
It took me 3 years to get a reservation (i work out of town and have always wanted to try this place.) i was sat at the main back table in the back of the restaurant and watched the chefs cook everyone's food so the atmosphere wasn't great back there but the rest did the restaurant seemed to be having a good time. I ordered the 12oz bone-in filet and it was okay. It was chewy to be honest which surprised me as it's the "best restaurant in Charlotte". My twice baked potato was actually so much better than the steak. Actually all of my sides and appetizer was better than my Maine course. Bc of that i was disappointed. Would i go again? If i was guaranteed a seat with a view of other people? Yes i would. But i would order a different steak. My $78 steak was only worth $18 because of the chewiness and flavor (even with the truffle enhancement.)
