I went on my birthday at 2 am I spent 27.00 cash I didn't open wrappers and check until I got home. Fricking disgusting I threw it all away Just a grease ball and an item I did not order. I ordered the 5 way chili and they gave me the chili with spaghetti The following day I asked for my money back. They offered me 10% off NEVER again will I be ripped off, made to get sick nor eat another product from this location

Okay always wanted to try this place and now I wish I never did! I was actually served plastic in my cheeseburger! But the shake was good, not good enough to make me want to come back though. A lady at the table behind us told her husband that the food was terrible. Another guy stormed out due to how he was treated. The guy that called out our actually spelled out our name and when we asked him why, he was a little passive aggressive with us. Is this really the service you get here??

What happened to the concept of Steak ‘n Shake? It’s sad in here, EMPTY in here. No service whatsoever. Someone points at a computer screen and then you self serve everything yet it asks for a tip. It’s outrageous, it looks like the nostalgic place I remember but it’s a shell of what it should be. My husband mentioned being disappointed that there was so service given anymore and the guy says “sometimes I still serve people” yet no service even when we were the only ones there besides one person. Prices are average considering the economy BUT I won’t be back. You need a receipt to scan to get your drink. Someone had tossed theirs in the trash and they literally made him get it to get his drink. After the fact the guy said said ah man I could have gotten it from the back for you. Ridiculous.

For a first visit, this experience checked all the boxes: great food, friendly service, and unbeatable value. It’s rare to find a drive-thru that delivers both speed and quality without compromise, but Steak ’n Shake exceeded my expectations on all fronts. I’ll definitely be returning, and next time, I might even explore more of their menu. Keep in mind: ATTENTION: their French Fries, however 100% pure vegetarian, they are Now Cooked in 100%, animal based Beef Tallow!!! ((healthier-cooked, but NOT- for Vegans or Vegetarians!!)) After we placed the order, our food was out to us in about 3 minutes. Hot, fresh, and delicious made exactly to our specifications. I even had a little trouble finding a substitution on my order, and they made sure it was made up the way I liked it. Everyone was very polite, and the place was spotless. Highly recommend hitting them up because this is a good one.

I was greatly confused as to how to order, no cashier/register, no menus just kioksk. Employee came out to help with ordering but lost in translation and made it super complicated. Had to use code on receipt for ICE or coke to come out of machine. No glass for shake, no whip cream for shake. Booths were very uncomfortable, warm in restaurant. The only thing that was good was the steak burger, the fries were hard and cold. No wonder there was no one there to eat. Employee was unfriendly and couldn't give me a number to call or comment about my experience. Even she said she doesn't have an HR number to make complaints. Next time I'm in Ft. Worth, I won't be coming back to this steak and shake. Will not recommend

I won't go back. The food is decent, the employees are polite, it was clean, and the pricing was high but not insane. The experience, though, is terrible. You order on a giant screen that makes you put in your name. For what? They still give you a number and call that. Want a soda? Eventually someone will notice and call you up to get your cup. Then you’d better hope you kept your receipt because, without warning, you have to scan it to get the fountain working. Yeah, there’s a little digital scanner by the soda fountain. It won’t activate unless you scan your receipt. Apparently, people were stealing too much soda? Guess that penny’s worth of syrup was killing their profits. So now every single customer has to deal with the slowdown and lines at the fountain. All this hassle so nobody gets an extra sip of soda with their fourteen-dollar burger and fries. They also don’t bring your order to you. They just yell from the counter when it’s ready. Fine, whatever, except... After walking in, not being greeted, ordering on a screen, and scanning your soda code, you’re asked to leave a tip. A tip. In a place where no one interacts with you except to shout your order. What am I tipping for? Cooking the food? That’s the bare minimum of their job and not how tipping works. Also, they ask before you even get your food. Before you even know if it’s good. Why would anyone tip at that point? The whole place feels like “What if McDonald’s was even more dystopian?” I might hit the drive-thru sometime, since that’s just about the food and the food is fine. But I’ll never eat inside again. Honestly, after this, even the odds of using the drive-thru are pretty small.

Food was just okay. Food certainly didn't justify the cost. Burger was small and cup of chili was only 2/3 full. Temperature of food was warm at best. I expected it to be piping hot because they cook to order (or maybe not). One staff was helpful, another was just rude and another was hiding out in the restroom and later was walking around the dining area on her phone arguing with someone that she had "paid my bill." The dining room Temperature was freezing cold making me regret ordering a shake. Don't think we'll be back.

Seriously with this place???always wanted to eat here and the very first bite I take into my cheeseburger is of plastic!! I haven't eaten dinner steak 'n Shake forever only reason I went because supposedly I frying their french fries properly with beef tallow supposedly grass fed and Wagyu had a double cheese with french fries and drink for $10 something. So I was ordering my first disappointment was no jalapeños, second this appointment was no hot sauce for the ketchup the atmosphere is plain and boring just like it's been for the last however long they've been in business it's 4:30 on a Sunday I'm the only one here other than the DoorDash person I grabbed an order how they make money I have no idea. I don't know how many refills you get but it's obviously better than McDonald's because I got two which you can't at McDonald's anymore

10/10 clean store, friendly fast service; & the star of the show is the TALLOW fried French fries & chicken strips. Anyone who is sensitive to seed oils, this is a game changer for fast casual dining! So grateful for the tallow options here in fortworth!

Get it together!!! I literally wanted a milkshake. To sit in the drive thru behind two cars for 20 minutes, just for me to give up and bail is absolutely stupid. I'm sure this'll fall on deaf ears anyway.

We ordered catering service for 75 people for a 93rd birthday party. The order was placed well in advance and confirmed the day before. However, on the day of the party the store manager refused to fill our order - stating staffing issues. I was left with 75 elderly people with nothing to feed them and horrible customer service. They still haven't even refunded my money or answered my calls.

Bad customer service. A hispanic older man tried to only give me 2 chicken strips when I ordered 3 finger combo and argued with me that I ordered 2 juniors. When I looked in the bag before I drove completely off the chicken strips was covered with a napkin trying to hide the two chicken strips. He has a name tag with no name and refused to let me know his name. Very rude he threw one chicken strip in to the grease while the rest of my food gets cold. An apology would have been a quick fix.

Me and my friends went here for dinner, and the service was abysmal. You have to use a QR code to enable the soda fountains, the only problem is I did not receive one. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they were nothing short of rude and off-putting.

Food was good, but no one takes your order anymore, it is all thru a computer kiosk on the counter. Credit only, no cash. You have to use a QR code to get your drink, luckily someone was standing there to show us, or we would have never figured it out. No refills either, your QR code works one time. No thanks, too impersonal for me, won't go back again.

Food was delicious. Store was clean. It was quiet with good atmosphere. Great prices and Happy Hour drinks. Employees were also very nice. I really don't know why it has any bad reviews. I eat here a couple of times a month and have had consistent results. We went for a mother daughter date after our Christmas shopping excursion. What's not to love?

Extremely unprepared... all the time. I've ordered from this location multiple times (strictly because it's the only Steak 'n Shake within 20 mi. of me) and every time, there's some issue. Ranging from unavailability of a menu item to random people picking up my order. Do. Not. Recommend.

If I could give 0 stars I would. My family and I have never been here and we'll never be back. We came in and ordered through a kiosk as they don't take orders at the counter. After ordering we received a piece of paper with a QR code on it to get our drinks. We go over to the soda fountain and scan the QR code. A young woman comes out and hands us the cups, at this point we assumed we were done with the QR code so we threw it away. Then the girl tells us oh you need the QR code to activate the soda fountain. So without the code you can't even get your drink, after we told her we threw it away she rolls her eyes at us and just kind of stands there like "well what do you want me to do about it?". Finally she hits a button under the counter to allow us to get our drinks and tells us "Just don't do it again". Trust me we won't, because we won't be back. After we get our food I ask the same girl as before if they have any 1000 island dressing or their own brand of sauce for the burgers. She looks at me like I'm stupid and says "You have to pay for that". Which paying for something extra is completely fine, but that's not how you should be talking to guests at all. They need some serious retraining, we will not be returning. The food tastes like McDonalds with no seasoning, just gross.

They never refunded me my 22.03 after making me drive back and forth 3 times I finally gave them the order back and asked for a refund. That was 4 days ago. Nobody answers the phones. Looks like I'm driving to steak and shake today. My daughter cannot have cheese in her chili. I went back after my initial trip to get new chili. I didn't take the food because I knew they'd toss it. I took photos. Well, they needed the food back. Trip 2 because they "couldn't hear the phone". After much drama the drive through clerk told me that my order would be credited the next day. Still no credit. Wow. So awful and unprofessional.

When I arrive there ut was b4 happy hour ends. I place my order an the employee put my order in 7 mints after so I was charge full price. Turn out the burger was greasey an very salty. The shakes was watery like favor milk. It's safe to say I will never visit that Mobile Alabama location again

This place is trash, you have to scan a barcode to get a drink and it did not work for refills. It was empty and they still had bad attitudes. If you are thinking about coming here you should rethink it.

After receiving a gift card for this place we were looking forward to giving it a try. We both had the Frisco melt which was really good, the sauce Definately makes it. To drink we both of course had a milkshake I had the Nutella and my husband had the Reese's, both we very good. Our service was average and it took a little longer than we'd like to get fast food but overall we had a good experience and will be back.

Man it's been years since I was last here because of the terrible service. After my nephews Football game win he begged to come here so after thinking about it I figured well it should be good ok let's go. HELL NO!!! Nothing has changed It took a total of 2hrs to finally receive all of our food. There's only 10 folks here and it took them 2hrs to barely finish our table. NEVER AGAIN!!

The restaurant was pretty quiet and empty, and there were only two employees running it. It was clean for the most part, and one of the workers was quick to bus tables after customers left. The food was good and made very quickly. One downside is this location is cashless unless you go through the drive thru. During 2-4pm shakes and drinks are half off, so we were able to get a treat after our meal.

Stopped by this location the other day and opted to dine in. I forgot that it's table service, so I was seated and the place had only two other patrons during a weekday lunch hour. There were about 3 or 4 servers inside and 1 seated me, and then came back and said she'd be my server. Seemed a little over staffed on the inside and the servers were busier cutting up in the corner but for the most part I was in and out fairly quick. I left my card on the table with the receipt as I was eating and she never came by to grab the check. I wasn't sure if she was supposed to take it, but after I was done, I just walked up to the empty counter and another person rang me out. *ShruG* Ordered the garlic steakburger and cajun fries. The burger was ok, but it had a nice slather of garlic butter on the bun and what tasted like garlic salt sprinkled on it. It might have been an overkill on the garlic salt. It was a little too much. Fries are thin so it's easier to eat with a fork. The food here decent but not great, but it is priced low which is the only good thing. If you're looking for something cheap, go here but do yourself a favor and go through the drive through.

The Food I Ordered: I wasn't satisfied with the food presentation here. I ordered their classic famous Original Double 'n Cheese Steakburger, Spicy Chicken Sandwich & Chicken Fingers. Every order comes with fries. The Steakburger did not meet the essentials like tomatoes, pickles & lettuce, was missing. The only thing inside was a double patty, onion & cheese. Spicy Chicken Sandwich taste like it was there for weeks & same as the Chicken Fingers. I'm not fan of the fries. Can't relate. About The Service: The service here is outrageous. No one was literally at the register to take my order for to-go, I was standing there for around 7 minutes looking like a clown while these employees notice me waiting in line with no one around and felt like I was invisible. Til this lady finally walks-by and I tell her that I need my order. I also notice that people here work slow, you see them like they're not enjoying their work environment and everything is toxic. But I also wonder how they're being paid so well over here, probably not. But in my opinion, I think their work ethic is unorganized and not-so efficient. Everybody here seems like they don't work as a team. Also, I think that this restaurant should be health inspected again. The health score is very outdated and my eyes is already telling me that the health score is a fail over here. I think Gordon Ramsay should be the one to inspect the restaurant, nobody else.

We have stopped by here twice in the last few weeks trying eat in, Yelp says it is open, the door has the dine-in hours on it. Both times no dice. I will not waste my time to stop here ever again

I went around 1-2am about two days ago. ive been calling them to talk to a manager about how awful the food was but no one answers. And yes I know I could go up there myself but my car is in the shop and I have both my kids. Didn't have much fries and the ones we had were EXTRA EXTRA salty! I couldn't even eat them. And the burger was nothing like the times we've had it. 0/10.

This place gives Steak 'n Shake a bad name. Their shakes are terrible, they barely put any ingredients in them or mix them well. Never was unsatisfied at any of the locations in Cali but this one is absolutely terrible.

asked for a glass of water and received a small Dixie cup for water, the kind that the kids use when brushing their teeth. Never ever in my life have I experienced this. All I can say is WOW!!!!

This place makes a delicious burger, great chili, and fantastic fries. I would give them 5-stars but the dine-in experience is always lacking. Dirty tables, dirty counters, and slow wait staff were always an issue in the past. Now, you use self-service kiosks to order which has affected the number of workers needed in the restaurant. Needless to say, the dirty tables and other issues remain and are somewhat worse than before. If you can deal with the dine-in experience deficiencies, the food will make you smile and you will return many more times in the future. We are long time customers and have learned to cope for the sake of our taste buds!

Probably the worst service I've had in a long time. I kid you not my friends and I waited an hour and a half for food. Then my food never even came. As my friends were paying the waiter brought the bag of my food and I said never mind cause we were already leaving. He asked me again and was trying to get me to pay for it still before I left. Wasn't trying to compensate for the service with any discounts or apologies. Steak N Shake is a great place to eat. Just don't go to this one in particular if you care about how you're treated as a customer.

Wow. We went through the drive through and ordered a garlic burger without a bun. Drive off. Went to eat and discovered they didn't include any plastic war to eat the wet burger with. Really?!?!

First time going to this location because I have never heard anything, but bad about it. I should've kept it that way, I ordered a red velvet shake and got a vanilla shake, the service was horrible. They were so rude, didn't say anything at all and not only were they rude in a talkative way/tone, they dropped my card on the ground and didn't say a dang thing. I am not happy at all with this location, do better as not only a human being, but as for working in customer service.

I just had to wait in their line for 15 minutes with three other cars parked only to get my shake not full at all and fries everywhere in the bag. Don't even waste your time.

Customer service was absolutely terrible! I was so disappointed! We ordered three combos with drinks through the drive thru and they had no drink holders. The girl at the window seemed as though she did not want to be there and made no effort to smile or be friendly. I would love to believe she was having a bad day but my gut tells me it was a personality flaw.

We've been here before and popped in for lunch between errands. Hubby tried the steakburger and said it was good. I tried a royal burger - single patty, bacon and a fried egg on top. The egg was cooked through but I bet I could have gotten it over-easy if I'd thought to ask. The cole slaw was too mayonnaise-y, so I put some on my burger for a creamy crunch. Didn't get shakes this time, but I know they are pretty good. The server was nice, but busy and hard to catch when we needed something, and didn't clean off the table when we were done. Still, we were happy with the food and price.

I love this place. It deserves a much better rating. I had the Frisco melt and chili. It's always fantastic. I also had the new Reese's shake and it was amazing!! There were two people in my party and both had the same meal and milkshakes, we spent less than $25. I don't think there is a better place for affordable meals than here. Our service has always been prompt when we visit. We will definitely return.
