Ordered double steak burger with cheese, fries, and cherry coke. Waitress was rude. Meal cost was $11.97. Used debit card and discovered I was charged $40.50. Contacted store 3 times, they stated they would refund amount. Took my cell number and email. Has not been resolved yet. They blatantly lied!

Asked for a small peanut butter shake got a kids shake.. employees rude I ask difference jn price all she would say is cheaper...it's a Dollar refund my order charge be 4.99 and I'll be on my way...they refused to do that..... Burger so cold cheese won't melt.... actually 0 stars

Beavercreek, OH by the mall of Fairfield Commons. Drive-thru I ordered 2 singles with cheese only, 2 chocolate milkshakes. Paid my outrageous price of $17.09, handed me both shakes i looked at them and gave them back...they were the consistency a Wendy's frosty that had been been sitting for a few hours...it was runny, I asked for them to be remade, opened my bag burgers had no cheese just tons of ketchup....when handed my remade shakes I told her cheese only... these had ketchup. They weren't happy about the remake. The shakes again were like the consistency of tomato soup. I asked for a full refund, she gave a receipt...we'll see if I received it. The crew that I saw was rude, unprofessional, I was told by the manager to have "Grace". When I told her about the manager shakes she says..."They're not that bad" .. Team needs to be trained again. Poor service, poor quality of food. Pulled away with no food no drink .

Resturant was like 60 degrees. Food cooled quickly. Several in my party ordered milkshakes that were wrong. One just got vanilla ice cream. Several orders incorrect. Don't know what happened her but was not impressed at all with this visit.

I am highly pissed at the service I received today at the Albany Ga location store number 582. My sister, my kids and I went there and order 4 #10 she knows exactly what she orders we get to the window and the he gives us one price and says $17.20 then a young lady comes to the window and says $22.85 so i asked why the price changed she stated” oh he only rung you up for 3 burgers instead of 4” i relied ok. So we get home i call and let him know my order was wrong he stated well you was wrung up for a number 9 i stated that that wasn’t what we wasted for so if it was a simple line of communication cool. But that wasn’t the case i get to the restaurant the manager Jeremey has a smirk on his face and ask can he help me i begging to explain i received the wrong order he states “we gave you what you asked for” but i didn’t ask for that i asked for 4 number 10s he proceed to say well im sorry im not fixing it so i said well give me my money back he states NO so of course now im furious because you gone not correct my food and THEN say you not giving me my money back. He was so rude not understanding that it was a simple miscommunication on his worker because i know what i said and instead of correcting it you would rather go back and forth with a loyal customer that’s all my kids order but you wanna go back and forth and not give me my order or my money then i ask for corporate he gives me the wrong number. I will no longer go there if he is there.

If i could give a 0 I would. Went to Davenport, Iowa and went in and ordered from kiosk. I got my receipt and looked around there were no employees anywhere. I waited and waited for at least 10 minutes. I had to go couldnt wait all day for these lazy employees to do their job. There were no grills even turned on. I called for employee no answer several times. I go to back and all the obtuse, rude lady could say was "you cant be back here." No apology, no explanation why nobpdy was up front cooking. She seemed oblivious that there were orders. She says cash kiosk is broke. I say no kidding that is why i used card. She is a real genuis. I stated I ordered and there were no employees anywhere making food or up front period. I wanted my money back. She was a real winner. Then this greaseball guy comes up and thinks he is going to strong arm into getting me to leave. I kept telling him not without my credit receipt. He finally brings it up and slams it on counter and says "now leave". He tried being intimidating by following me. These idiots claimed they opened at 10 so why wasn't the restaurant up and going? Customers had ordered food and nothing was being prepared. Futher, the floor was so sticky it had not been cleaned in awhile. My shoes kept sticking to floor. Avoid this restaurant at all costs! They do NOT care whether they have orders on screen or not. Now I know why so many Steak and Shake restaurants have closed. This one should too. Will be contacting corporate.

I was solicited a free milkshake to give Steak n Shake my business. Consequently, when I went to a location to redeem it, somehow, the redeem code expired the day prior. What these lousy corporations are doing now, is false advertising tactics to get people to sign-up and be marketed via text and email, but fail to deliver even the initial incentive for a business relationship. What the corporate owners have done is give themselves very bad publicity. Deceptive marketing at its worst. Management would not even honor the redeem code that clearly showed in the App. This corporation (along with many others) is going downhill fast...

We received wonderful customer service at the Steak n Shake at 408 South Gilbert St. in Danville. We were going to use the kiosk but a young woman at the counter said she would place our orders. My husband and I are both in our 70's and my husband has dementia. I asked for a root beer float and was told they don't make them there but the manager said we can give you ice cream in a cup and we will show you how to get the root beer. The young woman got everything for us. The manager came out to check that we had everything we needed. Another employee asked if we needed anything else. It was one of the best experiences. We will definitely go there again. We had a root beer float and a milk shake that were delicious. It cost around $4. It was happy hour there and we got a 10% discount. Great food, wonderful service. The restaurant was clean and quiet. I noticed the staff asking other customers if they needed anything. Thanks for a relaxing treat.

Store # 605 location on Mt Zion Pwy..Jonesboro GA. On 4/14/2025 @1:52pm per my recipe, I encountered the absolute worst customer service of my entire 55 yrs along with world travels. I have never gone in a restaurant and never heard a single word, not even among staff. I stood at the counter waiting patiently for any greeting from staff who looked directly at me and never acknowledged me. After an approximately. 5-7 minute waiting, I realized that I needed to use the kiosk. I placed my order (still not a single word..not even among themselves) I waited for pick up in my car. When I came in to ask if my order was ready (giving my order's name) ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE. Instead I was met with eyes of discuss and I felt as I was bothersome to the manager who look ant me. Indeed my order had been called in my absence. Then the MANAGER/ THE MANAGER reluctantly after 1 minute wait, simply tossed my order on the counter. I tried to exchange pleasantries only to be met with cold looks and NO response. This was the worst customer service experience in my history of dining/ordering out. I have traveled the country and I've never seen anything like this before. I truly hope there will be necessary changes at this location.

Use to get from choosing steak & shake in brunswick ohio you can not be seated & have someone take your order may as well close this location complete & total lack of service in the past when u ordered a milkshake they brought it out with whatever remained in the blender container if your going to cut services cut the cost to your customers equally. My wife and I visit several of your restaurants depending on our shopping preference. Today, it was your Fairfield OH store #269. 8-17-24 , 2:36 PM (We also do not enjoy your kiosks). The floor in this restaurant was the dirtiest we have ever seen in any establishment, especially over near the windows. The main item was a black, sticky substance that seem to cover most of the floor. The floor was also very slippery, in fact is was difficult in getting up from our chairs due to them sliding around. This place definitely requires some corporate attention.

I went to two different locations and the one closed early due to lack of staff and the second one told me it would be a thirty minute wait in the drive thru because they were trying to catch up on deliveries. Sorry such bad customer service you fill the orders in the drive thru or just give it up and close all your stores because service and quality has plummeted and apparently you do not pay well as you have no staff at multiple locations. Waste of time going to any of their stores anymore.

This place is still a joke, since they've re-organized it I can't say service is any better. Nothing but Hooten and hollering from the kitchen which was filthy , food drawers hanging open and floors filthy... get this , the manager of the joint was the one grilling the burgers...When I tried to ask him a question I got nothing more than a monosyllabic grunt, and then, when I repeated myself, he got all haughty ... I waited 32 minutes after the time I ordered online standing in their nasty HEEHAW corral!

Manager, Nina at store number 531. Very unprofessional she scold a young man in front of me, unprofessional an employee very very unprofessional. I'm very disappointed and I'm never going back to the Overton bridge in Fort Worth. all because I've got a chocolate shake and it didn't taste good so I took it back up to the counter and the young man told me that I had to wait till his manager Nina comes in to refund my money. Well she refused to refund it and tells me that I need to talk to a Amer tomorrow so they can rewind the cameras to see if I threw the shake away, I'm not the type of person that will say I'm gonna throw something away and don't it was nasty, so yes I threw it away. And yeah, she went off on a young man so bad in front of me I'm a customer you don't do no worker like that manager or no manager very unprofessional and this is not the first time I encounter a problem with her. That's why I haven't been over a year I goes back. I am an over the road truck driver and it was over a shake then that never refunded back to my card but that's OK. She needs to be fired and never work in fast food again the attitude, very unprofessional is not tolerated at all under no circumstances I should never hear a manager go off on an employee front of me NEVER

I have to say that I have loved your restaurant, the food, music and the people who are there to help make it actually fun. It's been a while since I have had the fun factor; we're in Anderson and we lost our own place of food, music and the people who were there for the fun. Well, now we go to the store #342. It's been okay but just today we met a wonderful friend, Mark ‼ He's a great attribute to the store - He's at the door when we come in offering which check in machine to get our food, then he's over at the pickup place where we get, no- Mark has our tray and brings it over to us. He's chatting with us now and jokes about the weather but he's always looking for the next person or group to help make sure they have whatever they need. He's charming and full of energy to get any one there in a great mood and great service. He's in his element. A real people person who is all about Great Customer Service and Support. He's a great attribute to this store and if you could get a real people person like him in each store, you would see a tremendous increase in customer support. He's a great guy and he is really as happy to help make sure everyone is happy with they're orders and the fun factor is back. Well that was not how I expected lunch to go. Never eat or patron Steak n Shake on Watson. Ordered food, mine was wrong, sent back, came back still wrong. I asked General Manager to fix it, nope. Insulated me asking if I could count. I stood up, asked them to take it back he said no again then told me to leave. Then his other little manager came over and slapped my hand holding the food. Then told me we are going to count together as he mauled my food with his bare hands. I told family we are leaving. They called cops because they thought I should pay for the food. Nope. Not after getting treated that way. Once outside the two managers kept escalating the situation. Arguing and being aggressive. Cops finally showed up. They agreed with me but the end said the managers wanted us banned. Fine with me. I Then filed report against manager who struck my hand. Simple battery charges against him and I will be pursuing that with the courts. Never in my life have I been treated that way, never once did they just offer to make it right or fix it. Just wanted to fight with me. All this after a nice festive time in the parade. Merry Christmas lol

you were going to lose a lot of business from your older customers who built your restaurants! I hate ordering at the kiosk to eat in a restaurant. There is absolutely no reason for that except not hiring enough employees to take people orders when they come in and sit down. you should be ashamed the way you're treating your customers by making them do this. Until that changes I will not eat at another steak and shake again. And I have been a customer for 60+ years.

Steak 'n Shake I live in Lakeland fl and visited the most unprofessional steak and shake manager .. we pulled up to the drive thru and I stated I needed some time to order .. they said ok .. but then they started to have a full blown conversation on intercom .. and he manager even came out the back door not sure what he was looking for .. they he final said let's let the customers order .. I placed my order and they asked for my drink .. I ask for a sprite but he was rude telling didn't u see we don't have that .. I told them it was not covered .. when we pulled up to window one of the emplyeee apologized.. I them it was ok but that it was unprofessional.. the manager turn and said "we don't have to serve u bitch and slammed the door on us .. all for his unprofessional attitude.. .. if u want to keep ur customer u need to educate ur employees to be professional.. I will never go back to steak and shake ever again and will let everyone know of my experience and to not visit .

Well, Steak & Shake that I went to doesn't even reassemble the restaurant my family has lived! I've been in a small town for about 7 years and we didn't have a SnS​, so when I got an opportunity to we went, no waitress, no customers, the only interaction with anyone is getting your tray across a barrier and the menu was limited, no more side by side shakes, it was a very dissatisfied visit. We've traveled around a d went to another state, thinking maybe is was just that one, but sadly no! Like so many places, they have traded the customer for the $

Ordered carry out and took it home. Order was completely wrong where each sandwich was incorrectly made. Two had bacon on them. We as a family do not eat pork, so we could not eat them. Had to throw them away! Had to order doordash from another, more successful, fast food restaurant. Oh get this: Called the manager and was told that she would/could not do anything about it. This is why Stake n Shake is failing-why they are constantly closing and most important loosing customers! NO customer service! Wrong orders and no accountability. No desire to make the customers happy, or want to return! Plus, the quality of the food went SO down! They may have my $ this time, but lost much more from the future. Don't spend that $35-40 all in one place!!! WILL NEVER RETURN TO A STAKE n SHAKE AGAIN!

I originally placed a curbside order. I arrived around 10:13. My order was supposed to be ready at 10:15. I called at 10:13 to just let them know I was there. I was hung up on. Someone picked the phone up and hung up. So I went through the drive-thru. They had a bit of a line so I waited but while I was waiting I saw on the email that it says hit check-in. The web page prompted me to a new page and told me that my order was ready to proceed to the pickup counter to get my order. So I get out of the drive-thru line and try and go inside. The doors are locked. So I go back to my car and call the store to find out what I need to do. I called the store 9 times before someone answered. I was hung up on 4 of the 9 times. I just wanted my order. The manager on duty was a woman. The manager told me that I needed to speak with corporate about getting my refund. She was very rude and unprofessional about the situation. I get it we're in tough times but communication goes a long way and if she didn't want to do her job she should seriously find a new one. I will not be returning to this terrible location. I would really just like my money back. I never received my food just terrible service.

Went there to have lunch with 3 coworkers and we waited 15min to be seated,then waited 30min more to get water but had to get up to ask for it.then the manager comes out when it's time for us to go back to work and asked us what we ordered.really?so we sat at the restaurant for an hour and didn't get to eat lunch and got not even I'm sorry....I've given the stake n shake many chances I will never set foot in the Auburn, in one again...

I did not get any food or a refund. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional! Steak N Shake owes me $25.41. The manager claims the order never went through however the payment came out of my account.

My husband Clifford Jenkins has been trying to get a response from steak and shake about a franchise for 6 months with no response after we contacted a person we meet that had a store we told him our plight we finally got a call back only to be told that because my husband had a bankruptcy over 20 years ago he could not have a shot at becoming a franchise keep in mind no where does the requirements say that And how would you hold him to a higher standard than your selves all the stores you all closed he was heart broken we have the money my husband has over 20 yrs in restaurant management but we both know the real reason we were turned down implicit racism exist so they should just keep it real and say blacks don't apply but with God on our side we will find something else. Thanks for letting us see the real you # cancel places that will take our money but tell us we are not good enough to own a business

Tried car hop yesterday...lol...what a joke. They never knew we were there, even tho my cell phone said our order was placed. We waited 20 minutes more then got in the drive thru line that was another half hour. When we got to the window they said they never got our order.
