I took my claim at Steak Your Claim & LOVED it! ❤️🤗 The drink selection is vast with cider, beer, soda in any form you want. The front end staff was super welcoming and the cooks were having a blast during lunch hour. 🍻🍺🫗 Food ordering was easy with menus up on the screens. Fried Ravioli caught my attention. Then the sandwhich choices were numerous. I ordered the Philly Chop Cheesesteak with American cheese. 🥪 Sitting down even with many orders going in and out still felt like a community inside. The Fried Ravioli Cheese pull and breadung was perfect. The flavor was good. 🧆 The Philly Chop Cheesesteak sammy was very familiar and the seasoning on the meat and melted cheese blew me away! 5 out of 5 stars all around. 😊💯

It was good! We would probably come back if we're in the area. One thing we liked was the beer cooler. The selection was varied and it was nice to have a sandwich & beer combo. The place was clean and service was friendly.

Google
Food was so good! We tried some of everything. The fried ravioli, animal fries, cheesesteak and Ruben on sourdough. All really good! I'm picky about pastrami cause I've been a few places where it was too fatty but this was really good!! Also the workers were really nice! Kids had fun with the pinball machines, and fiancé loved the beer selection. Only input would be more ciders, and maybe a high chair available. We will definitely be back!!

Google
Overpriced and subpar quality, $28. Got the Pretzel and the “Brooklyn”; pretzel was old soggy and honestly pretty gross. The cheese they upcharge for didn’t help. Sandwich was just… ok, meat was dry and, again, old. Definitely not worth $17

Updated menu / prices Very nice local establishment. Service was very kind and friendly. Got two different sandwiches both were yummy and filling. Also ordered the animal fries. These were ample in size and were loaded with toppings.

Google
We had a great meal - the sandwiches were generous, tasty and fresh. The pastrami is made in house! The crew was friendly.

Google
What a cute locally owned sandwich shop! Husband and I were really craving a decent sandwich & a beer - boy did we luck out! Counter service, quick and easy. Look through the canned/bottled beer & drink selections for what you’d like. We will definitely be back. The animal fries were *chefs kiss

Google
The bread was good, and a bit chewy, as it should be. My sandwich had a bit of gristle while my wife's was good. Both had great flavor. The staff was very friendly and a great selection of beer. Prices a little high but worth it.

Yelp
My new favorite sandwich shop. Three of us. Ordered a 16" to share for two, and a Brooklyn pastrami/ham/mustard and cheesy fries and fried ravioli, which I had never tried. When we ordered the 16" to share, we wanted different cheeses on the halves. No problem for them They brought out the fresh hot crispy cheesy raviolis. I loved them. A lot of cheese but not tooooo much. And crispy. Best with marinara Food came out hot and fresh in a very reasonable time. When the cheesesteak to share came out, we were all kind of surprised at how small it was. However., the cheese volume was impressive with great penetration. And then my pastrami came out and looked epic. Lots of meat, thick toasted bread that wasn't soggy and super well seasoned. But..it gets better. The "small" sandwich we received was actually only 1/2 of the whole sandwich! They took the time to not just cut a sandwich in half... but to prepare a separate sandwich with the separate cheese!! That was a first for us. And it was DELICIOUS!!! Lots of cheese all throughout, fresh lean steak, chopped , cooked and seasoned well. We didn't get our cheesy fries and noticed it wasnt on the receipt. But that's ok because we were so full. I ordered two of "cheap beers" cause they were on special. I noticed after I paid I was overcharged for them, and they immediately not only refunded the price, it gave us a $5 coupon as an apology. Class act. Tons of beer choices and a nice clean restaurant also. Very good staff.

Yelp
Came in today for a Reuben sandwich. I got there a there was only one lady in there ordering good. Then, just like that there were 8 people waiting in line. The Rueben was actually pretty good. The pastrami was really tender and juicy. It was kind of hard to eat as it juicy pastrami made the bread a little wet. But I woofed half of it down in my truck before I made the drive home. It only took 10 mins to get my sandwich. It was great as I played one of the 4 pinball machines they have there. I love pinball machines. I also like the big beers can/bottle selection they have there of microbrews. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other sandwiches.

Yelp
The food is great. I don't know how you complain about their cheesesteak or even more. So how would you ever complain against their house made pastrami which my wife have said some of the best she'd eaten. The portion sizes are large and as you can see we shared one regular size basket of fries between us and it was really more than we could eat. There are several coolers of beers and soft drinks and ciders, so you should be able to find something you like in those categories unless you're extremely picky or don't drink out of a can. If you don't like canned drinks, they also have a soda fountain Service was fast. The staff was very cheerful and helpful. The food came out and we just devoured it. It was all very good The place was pretty basic on the inside but it was clean and comfortable. So we're happy and we'll be going back. I recommend it

Yelp
Stopped in for the housemade pastrami Rueben on sourdough, an Italian, and fries. Both sandwiches were top notch! Reminds me of NYC deli sandwiches. Great variety of cans and bottles in beer, ciders, seltzers, NA. Coming back for some Philly cheesesteaks to celebrate my Eagles winning on Sunday. Service was great. Price was reasonable. On Wednesdays you get a $5 coupon for your next visit!

Yelp
Went with a buddy to try this place and glad we did. You walk in you see a big coolers with tons of beer options, a couple video game arcades also then we walked up to order. I got the hammer which has steak, bacon, onions, truffle aioli & cheese ( you get to pick from multiple options for what type )! The sandwich was delicious everything went together very good, I was stoked they had truffle aioli it had a great taste with the rest of the sandwich. I'll definitely go back to try some of their other stuff!

Yelp
This is hands down the best Rueben in Vancouver I've had so far. I hope this place continues to get business and stays consistent because my sandwich was great. Happy to have tried this place and it's in Vancouver not over the bridge! The wait was on the longer side but I've waited longer for crappy food before and would wait again for this!

Yelp
It was OK. Maybe a bit overpriced. Nice people, slow service. Probably should be a three star review but I'm giving it an extra star for the obvious Philadelphia Flyers knowledge that the owners must have. Lot's of hockey fans know that the Flyers were known as the Broad Street Bullies back in the day. That's where the "Bully" sandwich here got it's name. But the real credit goes to "The Hammer" steak. Real old school Flyers fans remember the man who made the NHL change the rules about violence on the ice, number 8 Dave "The Hammer" Schultz, holder of the record for most penalty minutes in a single season.

Yelp

Yelp
Finally made it over here after seeing some good reviews/experiences online. The food definitely did not disappoint. I placed an order over the phone for pickup, and the person that took my order was very helpful and made it super easy to line up exactly what I wanted. I went to pickup the food 20 minutes later. It was bagged up and ready to go. The sandwiches and fries were still hot by the time I got back home, and it was just as good as I expected it to be. I've been to Geno's and Pat's in Philly, experienced the whiz, and this place is about as close as you can get to the real deal around here. We will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
Ok....so we tried it. Atmosphere resembles another popular Philly place in town.. Service was what you would expect..music wasn't what I prefer with the random F bomb??? What's up with that? Food was fresh. Not what I expect for a Philly cheesesteak. Meat was tough and not as thin as you would expect. I was really disappointed in this one. Flavor was good but chewy and tough just didn't work. Pastrami was worth the trip. I'd have that one again but the Italian disappointed too. I asked for oil and vinegar on the side to take it home...nope...not there at all. Anyone can make a sandwich. It's the little things that matter. Not going to mention cost. Everything is expensive and this is right in line with everything else.. Maybe I'd go back for the pastrami...

Yelp
My main critique of this place is that the menu is a bit limited, which feels surprising for a sandwich shop. So, they likely believe they've curated the optimal selection, and most of what they offer is quite good. However, the dining experience itself feels a bit awkward. It's not cheap, yet you have to order at the counter, which can take some time. The ambience is unique, but my recommendation would be for them to double down on what they do best which is to focus on more things that are House made such as their pastrami. All things considered it. It's nice to have another choice of a place to eat, but it seems more like a delicatessen than a sandwich restaurant.

Jessie E.

Yelp
We heard great reviews for this place and were excited to try it. I got the pastrami with pickles which was good but nothing great or worth $17+ dollars. The service was alright. Nothing to rave over. The husbands cheesesteak you could barely eat in a bad way. The ladies bathroom was disgusting but over all the ambiance was alright. Nothing to rave about. I wouldn't waste my money going there again.

Carron H.

Yelp
Our sandwiches were awesome - super generous and really tasty. The crew was friendly and you can play pinball while you wait!

Yelp
Their reviews from their grand opening were not great, but they seem to be finding their footing as none of the complaints I saw were an issue in my order. When I arrived, I was greeted promptly. They weren't too busy, but had a fair amount of would-be locals checking out their menu and making small talk as well as a number of takeout orders. It's a very casual atmosphere, and the staff was quick to answer any questions and be as helpful as can be. This is refreshing, and I hope the mundane day-to-day tasks of running a demanding storefront won't wear this down. While they're known for their Cheesesteaks, I opted to try out their Reuben instead. It took a little over 10 minutes to make, which isn't bad at all. Despite taking it home and having about 15 minutes gone by, it was still pretty hot and fresh. The sandwich itself was not light in the meat department, which is great. It had all the makings you'd expect in a Reuben. It was a bit too savory for my own specific tastes, as I couldn't taste much of the dressing, and it felt closer to a classic NY Pastrami. But this is just my personal preference. Not the best I've had, but good. I'd probably just go for their classic Pastrami next time and save the calories from the thousand island I couldn't even taste. My only real issue is their listed number in their website, and their Yelp page don't appear to work ( at least not in the day of this review). I had tried to find a way to put in an order for pickup to avoid wait times but was unable to. Overall it was a great sandwich stop for a quick treat. Definitely worth a try if you're into cheesesteaks or NY sandwiches.

Yelp
My husband & I went for lunch. The sandwiches we got were super delicious, very fresh! Nice atmosphere, the waitress was nice & attentive. We will definitely be going back. We both highly recommend this place!!

Yelp
Oh my God! delicious! One of the best!!!! Absolutely delicious absolutions subways ever

Larry V.

Yelp
This is why I hate trying restaurants again. Especially when I know they will screw up again and again. Check out the picture of my $15.00 sandwich.

Regina C.

Yelp
Absolutely RECOMMEND!! I've been a few times and got the Hammer (with mushrooms) and the Reuben with housemade pastrami. Plus their AMAZING onion rings and to drool for ranch dressing!! The only wish I would have if I got a Reuben again is to toast the bread. Otherwise, their sandwiches are PACKED with flavor and meat! I especially love to bring my steak sammy home and flavor it with my favorite Bad Bones BBQ sauce!!!

Yelp
Was convinced by a fellow employee that this was the sandwich shop to go to. We got there late in the day, was excited to get our order to go and eat. Once home, I did not get my "animal French fries" that I ordered, got basic French fries...(the animal French fries are very expensive and I paid the price.) My Philly cheese steak sandwich was just ok and my hubby did not like the pastrami sandwich at all. We paid 59.00 including a tip for the biggest let down. I called the restaurant once I discovered my French fries were wrong and it went straight to voice mail, it's been a day since and they still haven't returned my call. Super nice counter staff and very clean but otherwise I would not recommend this restaurant....it's too expensive and not worth the price.

Yelp
Delicious sandwich! Bread was super soft. Portions were HUGE (worth the price!). Everything was hot, fresh, and tasted exactly like a Philly cheesesteak should! Beer selection is PRICEY (my 16 oz can was $6... oof!), but I'm grateful to have a vast selection close to home.

Yelp
IF I COULD GIVE 1 BILLION STARS I WOULD. my first time at steak your claim! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD! I ordered the Rueben!!!!! Not even kidding when I say it's the best Rueben I've ever had in my whole life! The meat was PERFECTION! I AM A FRY SNOB and the fries were perfect and just the right amount of crispy!!!!!! The service was amazing despite it being busy! I'm so sorry I didn't catch the lady's name but the girl taking orders was multitasking like crazy while still providing EXCELLENT customer service with a smile! I WILL DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK and hopefully become a regular!!!!!! I WILL BE. TRYING THE PHILLY NEXT!!!!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Was excited to finally try this samitch shop. Did NOT DISS A POINT!!! We did the Tuesday Combo on a Rueben and Fries. The Rueben is one of the best made from any restaurant or sandwich shop, We have ever had. The fries were right on the money. Crispy and super tasty. No katchup needed. Friendly and fast. We split the sandwich and fries and drink and it filled us up. Cant wait to try the rest of the menu and grab a beer from the crazy beer selection. (Death by Blueberries) who knew. A must stop. Oh and we didnt take a pic because we ate it all so fast.

Yelp
We went for lunch today, and had a fabulous experience! First off, I had been there previously, earlier in the year, and was very disappointed. The owner made several changes, and totally changed it around. Today, the food was excellent, and the employees truly cared about how they were doing, and even Matt the owner came around to ask us how it was. I expressed to him my previous experience, and how disappointed I was, and he thanked us for giving them another chance after he made his changes! We will definitely be going back, as customer service is just as important as the food, IMO!
google avatar

Tristina N.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch, I can always go for a nice pastrami sandwich. They offer rye or sourdough bread, I went with sourdough and it wasn't bad. Would go back to try other versions of pastrami sandwiches.

Hugo R.

Yelp
It was my first time here and they completely knocked it out of the park. I had the All American with Wiz ( you have to try the cheese wiz) and it did not disappoint. My wife git a special they had that day and her sandwich with didn't have wiz was excellent too. The meats were juicy and full of cheese and their fries were crispy and well seasoned. I will be coming back here very soon to try their large selection of beers as well. It a quiet little dining area, but it does have some arcade games to pass the time If you have kids. and the young lady at the counter was very nice. The food did take a bit to come out, but I was worth the wait. My only very minor complaint was that the bun could have been warmed, but honestly, the piping hot juicy steak quickly warmed it up. 10/10.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. My wife and I walked over for a sandwich and beer. I had the club and she had turkey. We loved browsing the beer selection. They have cool and shelf beers. The staff was nice and friendly. They even gave us fries when we thought we ordered fries. The fries are amazing! The sandwiches are delicious. The beers selection is great. We loved the German beers.

Mike D.

Yelp
Cheese sauce was a little salty for me, but they have the best sandwiches I have found in Vancouver.

Jamie F.

Yelp
There food is fantastic the meat to cheese ratio was spot on. I am adding this place to my go to restaurant rotation.
google avatar

Leslie M.

Yelp
First time trying here. Both our sammies were delish! My husband got the Philly Cheese Steak, I got pastrami on rye, both had lots of tender meat, perfection. Got an order of a fries, also great, hot and crispy, seasoned perfectly. Great place, we'll be back!!
google avatar

Kareem D.

Yelp
Food was on point. Service exceeded expectations Definitely worth it!!! Oh and the beer selection
google avatar

Tristan H.

Yelp
After seeing some mixed reviews on the Dining in the Couve Facebook page, we were really interested to try SYC! We got our food to go (2 Hammers, a large fry, and a side of whiz) and nothing disappointed! I can't believe a negative review exists about this place. Everything tasted authentic and was even better than we expected. So excited to have them in the area - Will definitely be returning customers!
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
Wow, the food was so bad I just left it uneaten. I ordered a cheese steak with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. It came out cold, with only cheese. I sent it back they came back with l,t,m plus onions and mustard. Plus it was just squeezed on top. We left and went to Philly Bilmos. If you're gonna make a cheesesteak, make it right.

Devin G.

Yelp
I gave it a second chance since my first visit was the day after the opened but it's just not a great cheesesteak. The cold sandwiches are great ( however vegetables are sliced way to thick) and so is the beer selection however they seem to be opposed to seasoning the steak. Round steak isn't the most flavorful but that being said I have had great phillys made with round steak. The vegetables onions and peppers are cut way too big and because of that they are mostly raw on the sandwich. I like cooked onions and I like raw onions but the in between doesn't help the sandwich. I really really want to like this place, the staff is friendly and it has the potential to be a great spot- unfortunately I just don't know if I'm willing to keep spending $50 on lunch that I don't enjoy
google avatar

Rocky D.

Yelp
Decided to try this place out. It's closer to home than anything else. Got the classic philly, with cheese-whiz. No lettuce or tomatoes, they do not belong on a classic Philly. They have a great beer selection, I was driving, so none fer me , this time. The sandwich was fantastic. Hot, and just the right amount of sloppy. Good thing I had extra napkins at home, the order was to go, cuz they were needed. I will definitely be back. The lobby is kinda plain, but it seems like it is mainly set up for to go type orders, not a regular sit-down restaurant. So ambiance was ok. The place was clean and had all kinds of beers, ciders and seltzers on the shelf and in the giant glass coolers. Service was fine, the order was taken quickly and only took about 10 minutes to get my food.
google avatar

Tyler H.

Yelp
This place is real! One of the best west coast cheesesteaks I have ever had!!!! Will definitely come back
google avatar

Charles S.

Yelp
I was very disappointed in the quality of the food. Meat was low quality. Bread was soggy. They do have a decent beer selection, but the sandwiches were seriously lacking. They need to take a trip to Philly to see how it's done.

Jocelyn G.

Yelp
Love this place! We had "the hammer" and "pastrami steak" sandwiches and both were great! Good quality and delicious! We will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Steve H.

Yelp
I'm sorry. Stopped and purchased the Philly chop cheese and a Reuben. First time in. The Philly was absolutely flavorless. The roll was mushy and the sandwich only had two small pieces of red bell in it. The Reuben was said to have tasted good but the bread was steamed so bad it was difficult to pick up. Service was okay. Pretty basic. I sat waiting on the sandwiches and the staff didn't acknowledge my presence in the building. Ambiance? Not enough to be even remotely impressed by.
google avatar

Austin H.

Yelp
Sandwich was ok. Fries were terrible. Price is outrageous. Service was lackluster. The guy at front was upset to get a bottle opener for me for a bottle that I purchased at the store. Seating arrangement is not ideal. Designed for takeout but they allow you to dine in.

Michelle K.

Yelp
First time trying this place. Food was good and hot. Had the All American and steak pastrami which was also good. Lots of selections in beer along with ciders. Service friendly and kinda fun to see a pinball machine to play. Overall will be back and had a great experience. Nothing fancy but who needs fancy when having a steak sandwich. Definitely would recommend and we will be back.
google avatar

Taylor F.

Yelp
Best cheesesteak I've had in Vancouver!! The wait was pretty long but that was because customers were ordering 6+ sandwiches at a time not including drinks/fries that they ordered as well... I've worked in the food industry before as a a manger so I could tell they were a bit understaffed for how many orders they were taking. Maybe if customers didn't order a ton of food they aren't gonna eat there wouldn't be so many "bad" reviews about slow service when in reality they can only make so much food at once.... People need to learn to be patient. Wish there was more seating available though. I will be coming back to try out the truffle fries!
google avatar

Mrs. B.

Yelp
Amazing food good portions and the service is amazing . They have all kind of beer perfect to pair with an amazing hoagie
google avatar

Sabrina M.

Yelp
Had my first cheese steak from this place today, and it was delicious. The truffle fries do not disappoint!

Janelle J.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food and fantastic service! We sat outside. It was a fun invited environment.
google avatar

Nathan I.

Yelp
We had two different Phillies and pastrami fried- so good! Both sandwiches had great flavors and remained hot even taking them to go. Pastrami loaded Fries were a great quantity and had many large pieces of meat. Will definitely return.
google avatar

Bryan V.

Yelp
This place is not good the sandwich was very dry not a lot of wiz on it prices were very high. The staff was rude we went about 90 minutes before closing sat down was eating a customer came in about 40 minutes before closing and the staff told him that they were closed. Not sure why you would turn away customers but I think if I was the owner I would not be happy.
google avatar

Isaiah L.

Yelp
Clean space, attentive service, great food. Simple menu with large beer/cider selection. Will be going back.

Rob M.

Yelp
Way tooo salty over seasoned I almost couldn't finish my sandwich maybe it was a one time thing but for the price I'll stick to Philly Bs
google avatar

Maxwell D.

Yelp
Went in today for a Reuben! Yum So much meat! I live in New York and this is hands down the best Reuben I've had outside NyC! Keep killing it guys! Thank you
