The 14 Best Restaurants With Gluten Free Food In SF - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"You will indeed find silky, slippery, springy made-to-order (and yes, gluten-free) rice noodles at Steam Rice Roll King. Known as cheung fun, pork and shrimp are the typical accompaniments, and that’s what’s at this tiny Sunset spot, too. You’ll also get your choice of two additional toppings like bean sprouts, green onions, and corn. While cheung fun is usually drenched in seasoned soy sauce, Steam Rice Roll King serves it in a separate container so that your noodles remain untouched. Because the noodles are made fresh, the wait can be frustratingly long, so order ahead online. If you order in person, bring cash (they don’t take cards there) and plan to take your food to go as Steam Rice Roll King only has a few (backless) stools." - julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez, patrick wong

Who doesn’t like rice rolls? Their menu includes a variety of protein that goes with the rice roll. Toppings like green onion, cilantro, corn, preserved pickles are free. Egg is additional. I ordered pork and beef rice roll. My daughter says it tastes super good. I also bought a beef rice roll for my mom. She said the rice rolls were really good and that it reminded her of the rice rolls she had ate from China. I guess we will be coming back often!

Google
I ordered the minced beef rice roll and a shrimp rice roll. You can add two items for free in each roll: corn, lettuce, Chinese parsley, green onion, mushroom slices, bean sprouts or pickled cabbage. I added corn and mushrooms but most people added Chinese parsley and green onion. The rice rolls are made to order so there is a 5 to 10 minutes wait. Rice rolls were soft and delicious. They also have a fried sticky rice ball, but I haven't tried it yet.

Google
First time trying this spot and I was impressed by the freshly cooked rice noodle. It was thin and had great texture. You get to choose a rice noodle dish (chose the seafood with cheese) and add 2 sides / toppings. I added green onion and lettuce for some crunchy texture. The dish was packed with shrimp, scallops, and mussels. It was so filling that I had to take it to go. They say cheese doesn’t go well with seafood but the cheese is definitely a twist and it supported the entire dish. I would definitely go back. Only 3 stools to sit on and takes CASH only.

Google
I wanted to like this place but it was a dud. They say they are the king of rice rolls but it’s quite the opposite. I had hopes, not high hopes lol. The rice noodles lacked bounce and wasn’t clear. It tasted more like noodles you make for soup. The moment you picked up the rice noodle all the toppings fell out. A good rice noodle dish has the fillings bound to the rice noodle so it doesn’t fall out. This was quite the opposite. I wouldn’t go back until they fix their rice mixture recipe.

Google
TLDR: sold HK milk tea and it was watery and the straw wouldn’t break the seal They sell HK milk tea for a crazy high price. I got one and the flavor was very bad and watery, the straw didn’t have a pointy end and we couldn’t even puncture the plastic lid with it. We had to ask for help and they did it in the back reluctantly and even then they spilled on themselves.

I love rice rolls. Especially when they are made to order. These were thin and not overly doughy. Love that you can customize and add two toppings of your choice.

Google
If I can give a 0 star I would. The cashier staff was rude, saying they only take cash so I ordered pickup from Uber eats and then the food took like 20 mins to be ready, found out there’s a hair in it when I opened it at home. DONT GO!

Google
Too expensive for a tiny rice roll. Compared to the regular rice roll, they have relatively small portion. You need to get at least 2 rice roll for one adult. This is actually rather expansive. 2 rice roll for 22.25 dollars. The teste is subpar, basically tasteless. There is NO dine-in and there is NO restrooms even after you spend 22.25 dollars for some tiny subpar rice roll.

Yelp
Great BBQ pork rolls, definitely would recommend. Food came out pretty fast, and very friendly service.

Yelp
New fresh rice roll in the neighborhood!! Love how they have an online ordering system so you don't have to wait in line. Easy to use & super efficient. I ordered one brisket rice roll with corn and green onion. The other order was Minced pork with egg and corn. Super thin and fresh rice roll! The egg added an extra texture that was delicious. Done within 15 minutes from ordering on their website. There is a few window seating but mostly Togo orders is recommended.

Yelp
Cheung Fun is S-tier for dim sum and one of my favorite items to order. It can sometimes be hard to find by itself at restaurants and can definitely take some skill to make at home. My fiancée and I were in the Sunset area when we saw this pop up on Yelp. It's a small shop on Irving with only 3 counter seats available, so your best bet is to do take out. However, we got lucky and got a seat just as another couple was leaving. If you order in-person it's cash only, but you can pay with card by ordering online or through their QR code. When ordering rolls they give you the option to add 2 toppings which is appreciated. We got the brisket rice roll with mushroom and cilantro, and the shrimp rolls with corn and green onion. Waited maybe 5-10 minutes and the rolls came out fresh. Brisket rice roll was unique in that it tasted like braised beef which reminded me of a clay pot. Perfect bite and toppings were well mixed. The light soy sauce, chili oil, and what looked to be a jalapeno/garlic soy sauce paired well with each bite. I thought I would still be hungry afterwards, but you get good value as each roll is only about $8-$9 and its filled to the brim. I hope they stay here a long time because I would definitely come back!

Yelp
This is my second visit there. The first visit was a couple days ago. During my first visit, I was checking out the place. I found out they grind the rice themselves to make the rice batter so I ended up ordering. The rice rolls are made to order so you will have to wait for your order if ordering in person there. I ordered shrimp rice roll both visits. The rice roll was thin and had good size shrimps. The light soy sauce complemented well with the roll. I was excited when I saw mini sesame balls. I don't know any other Asian bakery/dim sum store sells mini size. The mini sesame ball dough was chewy and had right amount of red beans paste filling. My go-to fresh steamed rice roll place when I am in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Came here since my favorite spot next door is closed for the next three weeks and noticed a sign advertising free soy milk with a $10.99 purchase on Tuesdays--lucky me. One of my go-to dim sum dishes is steamed rice rolls, so I decided to give this place a try. I ordered the beef rice roll with two free toppings: cilantro and green onions. The rice roll was fresh and thin, with the meat and toppings nicely layered inside. The light soy sauce complemented it well, soaking into the rice roll just right. I only wish they had sriracha that wasn't watered down. There are a few window seats if you want to dine in, but the spot mainly focuses on takeout. Ordering is easy with their QR code if you prefer to skip the line. They also have Chinese baked goods and traditional sweets available. I tried the ham sui gok and wouldn't get it again--the filling was good, but the exterior was overly oily, soggy, and cold. These are usually crispy outside and chewy inside, so if you do get them, I'd recommend refrying or air frying at home for the best experience. The cold soy milk was refreshing and not overly sweet, which was a nice touch. Overall, a solid spot if you're craving rice rolls in a pinch. With a few tweaks on their fried and baked items, this place could really stand out.

Yelp
When I was a kid and went to dim sum, my favorite dish was Beef Chong fun with its slightly sweet soy sauce. Dim sum was priced based on how expensive each dish was (small, medium, large). Well, this dish was always expensive for some reason and I felt bad that my favorite dish was one of the more expensive ones. Well, now you can find stores that specialize in just this dish. Took a little while to get our order, but each dish is made from scratch and freshly made, so will take longer. This is just a hole in the wall store with 2 or 3 counter seats if you want to eat there. Overall the rice roll is nice and thin, so you can actually see the ingredients in there. You can also get 2 free additional adding. I got green onions and mushrooms. Tasted yummy and a little better than a good dim sum place! Will get some again!

Yelp
This place was really good and I got the rice roll with corn and green onion. This place only takes cash so make sure to bring cash. Theres only a few chairs as seating but I highly reccommend coming here.

Yelp
Rushed over after watching an IG video about this place in the sunset. It's so hard to find great rice noodles outside of Chinatown in the city so I was very excited to try. Each dish is steamed fresh and it has such a soft texture without it being mushy. The noodles were silky! We wanted to try a variety so ordered the beef brisket, bbq pork, and fat beef slices. Some of the meat was a bit on the drier side so it was good that there was sauce. The sauce is a nice sweet soy sauce and there's plenty for the entire dish. It was nice that you can order 2 toppings for free. Definitely will be ordering from here again because it just feels so homey! Parking is not great on Noriega, but you can circle around a couple times and you'll get lucky. There's only 2 seats inside so I would suggest taking it to go and eating it as soon as you can so it's still warm.

Yelp
I kid you not, I truly believe good soy sauce MAKES a good steamed rice roll. There's nothing more satisfying than the drizzle (or dump) of the entire container of soy sauce onto my rice roll. Even a mediocre streamed rice roll can be redeemed with good soy sauce. This place tops it all. Good soy sauce, amazing rice roll, and fresh toppings. All under $10. As a matter of fact, it was $8. But, this place is to-go only. (Which is probably the thing that's keeping the prices low.) The locals love this place and all of its appetizers and small treats. My mom also love their black sesame cakes. Hope this place remains a gem on Irving.

Yelp
Really cool place for steamed rice rolls and prepared Chinese desserts. I really like their fatty beef slice filling as well as their BBQ pork rolls. The rice roll noodles are super thin and delicate and are my favorite I've had in the last few years. I love the convenience of getting nice rice rolls as takeaway and it's good value for like a full container of noodles, meat, and veggies for like around $10. They also have specials on Tuesdays/Thursdays (?)for bonus savings which is nice. The workers are patient with my indecisiveness and I don't feel judged for my lacking Chinese which is always appreciated

Yelp

Yelp
I was super excited when Steam Rice Roll King was about to open, even though there are 3 other places within 2 blocks where you can get rice noodle rolls. Steam Rice Roll King has several options you can choose from. The noodles are made to order and rolled super thin, the way I prefer it. The beef brisket one is very good. The seafood combo with cheese is quite rich. You can add two toppings for free. For $10, it's a pretty big portion.

Yelp
Fresh food including the Tuesday specials. Fast services on serving orders. Will come back for more.

Yelp
The food over here is pretty good because they offer certain items that is only found here. The rice cake dessert is only found here and a few other places. They offer a variety of flavors from tapioca with coconut milk, to matcha green tea to the original brown sugar. They also offer a page off their menu on steamed rice noodles with a variety of fillings. I ordered a ground beef and a pork steamed noodle. Sorry but I ate the dish neglecting to take a picture. The food was good they lost a star given how they are a cash only place.

Yelp
Fresh steamed rice rolls? Yes please! I really enjoyed this place! You choose which base you want and then can add in 2 toppings. I got the shrimp one with corn and green onions. It's really delicious fresh but also reheats really well! Don't forget to eat it with the sweet soy they provide you! Cash only but you can also do an online order if you don't have cash on hand. They have a QR code on the window to do that!

Yelp
Honestly a solid steam rice roll place. Small hole in the wall place in the sunset that has pretty good value. Having been to Joe's Steam Rice Roll in Flushing, I like the flavor here a bit more. When I went to Joe's it felt under-seasoned, whereas the meat and rice rolls were a good baseline level of salty and savory. They also have their house made soy sauce for you to add to your order. Prices are solid for an easy meal (pricier than Joe's) and portion size is good. I ordered the basic mince pork roll and the beef slices with mushroom roll. Really liked both, the latter being more savory and a few dollars more. You get to add 2 veggies to each order, can't go wrong with green onions and pickled cabbage for rice rolls. Nice contrasts in flavor and texture Very limited seating. Drinks were super well priced too, will try one the next time I come back. Perfect spot for a quick bite/lunch if youre in the area

Yelp
Found Steam Rice Roll King on Yelp and decided to try it out! It's located on 23rd and Irving with metered street parking. I ordered the fatty beef noodle roll and the pork noodle roll with egg. The cashier girl told me they were doing a special promotion so with a dollar more, I could get a HK style lemon iced tea (that drink normally cost $4). I was contemplating about getting that before too since my husband and I were on the way to get Andytown's coffee. For just $1, it was hella cheap so I got it just to try while heading down to get coffee. Huge portion size! With a regular plastic box, they doubled the noodle rolls so there was plenty to eat for two people! Very generous in comparison to other places making this style of noodle rolls. The fatty beef cost $10 and tasted straight up like the beef we use for hotpot. It was good but I still prefer the traditional beef noodle roll. The one we got for the promotion was beef/pork with an egg noodle roll. Adding an egg cost $1.5 extra, however, all the noodles come with two complimentary sides of your choice. What a deal! The place was tiny and not a sit in kind of place. Cash only too! Very old-school! Cheap breakfast though and the noodles were freshly made. My favorite thing here was actually their taro sago with coconut milk drink (usually a warm dessert). It was good and not very sweet! That only cost $3.75 and after tax, it was $4.03. I would get that again if I came back for noodle rolls. The lemon iced tea was very sweet! I normally loved this drink but they did not make it good. I would skip it! Other than that, the workers seemed friendly. They also spoke a lot of Cantonese so it straight up reminded me of Chinatown or Hong Kong.

Yelp
Pretty great quality ingredients and good portion size! It was delicious. I just wish that it included 3 free ingredients instead of 2. FYI, ask for extra soy sauce, and this establishment is cash only. This is also a to go only restaurant with 2 seating options near the window!

Yelp
My sis and I liked this spot. It's a small place so you order and take it to go. They serve it in a good take out container. They had a couple of chairs to sit inside. When my sis and I came in, they were so kind and patient when we ordered. I loved the Hong Kong style drink, it was perfect for me. I like how simple the menu is. I ordered mine with green onion. I think it cam with maybe 8-9 shrimps. I wish it came with a few more.
google avatar

Sabrina L.

Yelp
I got the beef brisket rice roll with corn and beansprouts and it was really good! The noodles were very soft and delicate. The brisket is amazing, it's so tender and flavorful. Pretty good portions also! Takeout and cash only

Yelp
The night we went, it was quite busy, so it took a little while to get our food. The wait was well worth it though, since it was some of the best chueng fun I've had! We had the beef rice rolls with corn and lettuce, and it did not disappoint. The rice rolls aren't too thick, and the soy sauce paired great with it. The portion size is pretty good too, so you'll be plenty full!

Yelp
I was finishing up errands when I walked by SRRK, no line! I chose the unusual roll with Chinese sausage and bacon, with pickled cabbage and mushrooms for my 2 free toppings. $8 for a big portion, generous amount of meats, and freshly made. The noodle skin is super thin so it doesn't taste too doughy. I also got the ham sui gok, sweet steam cakes combo, and a chrysanthemum herbal jelly. All that around $20! The place is so small that there really isn't room for inside seating. The 3 stools are mostly used by customers waiting for their orders. And service is cordial and efficient.

Yelp
Goodbye, Loi's. Hello, Steam Rice Roll King. In college and in my early 20s, Loi's was a Sunday staple for cheap eats. Before they closed in August 2023, Loi's was the only place in the city where you can get a bowl of phở for under $10. I hope the owners are enjoying their well-deserved retirement and have chilled out. Tho their bickering and yelling will forever remain in my memory. Opening on 1/13/24, Steam Rice Roll King is offering takeout only. M E N U Cantonese Breakfast Fare. Specialty: Cheung Fun - Rice Noodle Rolls ($7.50-$10). For each cheung fun, you get two free add-ins: corn, lettuce, green onion, parsley, mushroom, bean sprout, or pickled cabbage. You can add egg/salted egg yolk for $1.50. They also have Jook (porridge), Rice Cakes, and Housemade Soy Milk. CASH ONLY. There's a Wells Fargo ATM half a block away. Count your change! I didn't think to and it wasn't until I returned home did I realize I was shorted $10. F O O D I ordered three cheung fun and choose corn, green onion, and parsley for the free add-ins. They're served with a side of sweet soy. No chili oil available at the moment. Ever so slightly translucent, the cheung fun is soft but the texture could be improved. Large portion but not as thin, smooth, and slippery with a stretchy, chewy bounce...which is my preference. * 牛腩腸粉 Beef Brisket Roll w/ corn, green onion ($9): http://tinyurl.com/589btjnp Best of the three, the braised brisket (rough flank) was savory, flavorful, and tender. You receive 5-6 small pieces. * 鮮蝦腸粉 Shrimp Noodle Roll w/ corn, green onion ($8.50): http://tinyurl.com/6jcbck3f Fresh, firm shrimp (8-9 pieces) that paired well with sweetness of the corn. * 豬潤腸粉 Pork Liver Roll w/ parsley ($8): http://tinyurl.com/6jcbck3f The pork liver was overcooked and tough. IMO, they should have undercooked it to account for the time spent in the sealed takeout container. S E R V I C E Cordial with a full staff (6-7 peeps). Visited at 8 am opening time and there was no line or wait. The cheung fun is made-to-order; quoted 10-12 minutes. Longer if there's a line. A M B I A N C E Total remodel - bright and minimalist with three stools. P A R K I N G Very challenging parking during peak hours. Overall, decent cheung fun with large portions. IMO, Joyful Kitchen on Ocean Ave makes a superior one with Ming Hing on San Bruno Ave coming in second for value (~$2 less). I'm hopeful Steam Rice Roll King will perfect their recipe and technique in the coming months.

Yelp
New spot that makes fresh rice roll on order! Start by picking what meat you want, and you can add two vege toppings (like sliced mushroom, green onion, etc) for free, or add an egg or salted duck egg by paying extra. I've tried their pork roll, and pork liver rolls - both tasty. Tip - ask for extra soy sauce. They also have siracha hot sauce packs if you ask. Our family liked the rice roll a lot even when eaten several hours later. They also good HK milk tea (I've only tried hot ones) and other HK specialties, like rice cake and chestnut cakes. My family liked both the HK milk tea and the sweets. This is a new spot so they are still figuring out logistics. Patience is needed, as with all new biz, but the food is well worth it in my opinion. I already came back twice. Cash only - there is a Wells Fargo half block away. Try it if you like rice rolls and other HK treats.

Yelp
Delicious and soft rice noodle rolls that remind me of the food vendors in China. Dish: each rice noodle roll comes with your choice of 2 toppings. They actually give a bigger container of sweet soy sauce with each noodle dish, it's the perfect amount. No need to buy additional sauce. 1. Minced beef w/corn and green onion: $7.50 better than the shrimp 2. Shrimp w/corn and green onion: $8.50 3. Hot soy milk: $3 would skip next time Logistics: -cash only -takeout only -limited street parking -slightly longer wait time (~25 mins) but worth it.

Yelp
Steam Rice Roll King in the Outer Sunset specializes in fresh rice rolls that made-to-order and super thin. We opted for the BBQ pork ($8) and beef brisket ($10), both tender packed with flavor. Other options included shrimp, pork liver, seafood with cheese, and mince pork or beef. Rolls come with two free toppings - we picked corn and lettuce, and paid an extra $1.50 for egg. While we waited,a bunch of customers came in specifically for the Chinese rice cakes. I tried the red bean pancake, but found the outer layer a bit too dense so next I'll stick to my usual sesame balls. Tip: The business is cash-only, but if you need to use credit card you can order via Toast (the store provides the QR code) or DoorDash.

Yelp
It was easy to order online and then pickup the items! Wish they had a follow up email to notify but the time was accurate and hot and ready the food! Tasty too and good selection!

Yelp
Seems to focus on quantity over quality; don't order the ham sui gok. Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 4/5** They say cash only, but they also have online ordering, so they can accommodate credit card. Long wait times and only a couple seats indoors with no outside seating. **Price & portion, 4/5** Portions are generous, but I didn't love anything I ordered. **Taste of the food, 2.5/5** I got steamed rice rolls with shrimp, green onion, and parsley, and also added an egg. The rice rolls were super thin (which was impressive!), but that meant there was no satisfying stretch or chew. I know a lot of the flavor comes from the soy sauce, but the rice roll itself was more bland than other rice rolls I've had, I think a pinch of salt in the batter would have gone a long way. The shrimp wasn't particularly bouncy either. Overall, not the best but could be worth it for the portion size. The biggest disappointment was the ham siu gok -- it was unfortunately the worst I've had: super pale, not crispy, didn't have a flavorful saucy filling, and was wrapped in a thin layer of rice flour (folded potsticker-style). I was expecting a super crisp golden "football" with savory mince but got a slightly loose, gummy, room temp pocket instead.

Yelp
Got a milk tea and 3 egg rolls to snack on...and share...ok remodeled irving street is busy i dont really understand

Yelp
TLDR: Nice canto aunties, classic rice noodles but long wait times Saw this place on instagram and decided to drop by on a Saturday around noontimes. Small shop on Irving, take out only, fair size menu with some classics and some fancy items. We ordered: Shrimp rice roll (recommend) Hot soy milk (highly rec) Congee (recommend) Ham sui gok (not recommend) Good amount of food for the pricing but the wait times were rough, 25 minute wait after ordering. Still in their soft opening stage so hopefully they can figure out a system. Food was tasty but did not set itself apart from others. I would come back again to support local mom and pop but hope with some improvement.

Yelp
I was REALLY looking forward to a good cheung fun or steam rice roll but this place left me disappointed. At $7-10 per roll, you get a large serving in a flat take out box that's easily shareable for 2 people. I tried both the minced beef and fatty slice beef with mushrooms rolls and both were mediocre. The rice roll itself had soft, chewy texture but it was not silky smooth as I had wanted. There was also not a lot of topping, even the corn and mushroom (aka the cheaper, non-meat toppings). Also, they only give a single small container of soy sauce that's barely enough for half the box. Maybe they'd give an extra if you ask but I didn't know until I got home and saw only a small container. The fried sticky rice ball (lo mai gai) was gimmicky but I was interested. A definite skip. It's missing the leaf flavor that comes with the steamed version and there was barely any filling to go with the bland sticky rice. The business is still pretty new so I hope to see some changes. Or maybe it's just not my type of rice roll. Either way, I love the concept and am so happy to see a new business in SF serving this classic favorite. I am glad I gave it a try and encourage others who like rice rolls to try for themselves.

Yelp
Finally got to try this place out today so I ordered a shrimp roll, a brisket roll, and their misc. steamed rice cakes. Overall quality of the rolls were decent, however, the batter they use/make is simply not "silky" enough (輆澀澀, iykyk). They are decently generous with the toppings but the brisket was rather tough. I had this at around 11am so I don't think it's a sitting-out all day issue, they just need to spend a bit more time on it. The rice cakes were just okay in my opinion. The matcha one was actually my favorite out of the trio because they used enough matcha to mask the taste of the flour in their batter. The red bean one could use a tad more sugar and the sago one needs more coconut milk, both of which just tastes like flour and while it wasn't unpleasant, it wasn't exactly tasty either. Batter also need to be a bit more thick so the finished product has a "snap" to it instead of just mush. Would I eat here again? If I was in the neighborhood, sure. I just wouldn't go out of my way to come here though. I'm not saying I didn't like it, as of right now, my thoughts about their food are that I wouldn't mind eating it again, there's just some room for improvement.

Yelp
- Ordered 2 rice rolls and some desserts - the rice roll portion is quite a lot and I love the silky texture. I think the fillings could be better ie. The shrimp was definitely basic frozen shrimp and the mince meat quality was ok. - desserts were ok and nothing special - be prepared to wait because they make these rice rolls fresh! I recommend ordering ahead online directly on their website if you don't want to wait as long.

Leanna L.

Yelp
Came here to try their rice rolls, and they did not disappoint. Big portrayed rice rolls and you can pick 2 toppings per roll. The rice rolls are a different style where they don't wrap the roll, instead they push everything together. Bbq pork and brisket ones were tasty! They also serve hot/cold soy milk. You can order online ahead of time as well. It is on Irving st. so it may be difficult to find parking. Overall, easy to order and pick up to go. They don't really have seating, with the exception of a tiny counter area. Definitely give this place a try if you're in the area.

3.5 STARS I stopped by the other day but the wait was too long. Came back on MLK day at 10am and there were only a few people inside. This is more of a grab and go spot. They have a bar table by the window that can seat 3 people if you want to dine in. The ordering process was straight forward, like most made to order rice roll places you can to pick a few items for free, here you get 2 freebies. If you've been to Joe's in NYC this is the exact same thing, thin rice rolls, made to order. Expected wait time is 10-15 mins when it's not busy, YMMV. We ordered shrimp rice roll, beef rice roll and a HK MT. Both were really good, super thin sheet of rice wrap over the beef and shrimp. It's great for what we have here as we don't even have a place that makes this on the go - Joyful kitchen might count. Personally, I would like the wrapper to be MORE silky, delicate. Other than that, pretty solid rice roll spot. Forgot to mention, their portions are huge.

Yelp
For pickup: I ordered the glass fish (which looked a little messy in the container) and minced beef rice noodle rolls. They were okay and pricey for the quality. I also got an order of variety of rice pudding and coconut mochi. They were pretty good.

Yelp
I heard about them through TikTok and we decided to come on a busy Sunday around lunchtime to see if it was worth the hype. There was a bit of a wait to receive our food but it's understandable since the rice rolls are made to order. We didn't eat them until about two hours later but it was still amazingly silky and not stuck together like I'd thought it would be, so next time I'll be sure to eat it right away. We loved the options and being able to choose two toppings at no additional charge. For about $8 an order, the portions were huge and we ended up skipping dinner because we were so still full. TIP: Order through Toast on their website and you can bypass the cash only in store policy.

Yelp
CASH ONLY!! pretty small store with just a bar against the window for people to sit at. i read some reviews saying the wait time was long, so we ordered and left to grab boba. for rice rolls, you can add on two toppings for free! - fat beef slices with mushroom roll (4/5): noodles were a little more overcooked than i would've liked, but overall this was pretty good! it's a fairly large portion, and they were generous with the meat and the sauce! meat was tender, but the sauce could've been a smidge saltier. we added on corn which we really liked, and green onion which didn't add much - tried my friend's shrimp which we both agreed would be better if they chopped up the shrimp. overall pretty good spot for rice rolls, would come back again if i was craving it!

Yelp
Took public transportation for over an hour from across the city to try this place only to find a note on the door stating they are on vacation.. 2025 and businesses still aren't updating hours online sigh*

Yelp
Purchasing in-store: cash only Purchasing online: credit card / apple pay option I got the Chinese sausage rice roll with cilantro (Chinese parsley) and mushroom add-on. The quantity and quality was great. I loved the texture of the rice roll, and the chinese sausage and sauce gave it plenty of flavor. Can't really beat the price too. The staff was friendly when I stopped by to pick up my online order.

Yelp
Fresh Cheung Fun made to order? I didn't know they had that locally. Currently Cash Only. Parking (4/5): Parking can be difficult during peak hours, but not impossible. Ambiance (4/5): It's a small shop with three seats, but this is more meant to be a grab-and-go type of place. As they're a newly opened business, be prepared to wait for your food if you ordered rice rolls. I waited roughly 20-25 mins on a Sunday morning, but at least you know your food is made fresh. Food (4/5): There was a good selection of options, but we ordered a Minced Beef Roll and Shrimp Roll with green onions and Chinese parsley. For each order of steamed rice rolls, you get the option of two free toppings. There are egg and salted egg yolk as premium toppings for an extra cost, but all optional. The beef was soft and tender, and the shrimp was cooked well. The steamed rice rolls were plentiful and smooth, but they could've been slightly thinner. The soy sauce completed the dish, making it more savory--I wish we had asked for more. We also ordered a Lemon Ice Tea and Milk Tea which weren't bad. I did think the tea in the milk tea was a bit over-stepped. There are areas for improvement for sure, but I'm so glad they're bringing something to the Bay I wished we had more of.

Yelp
I loveee this kind of rice rolls. Coming from NYC, Joe's Steam Rice Rolls was one of my favorite spots so I am glad to see a similar place here in the bay (albeit a lot more expensive). Still the food is delicious and the portions are good relative to the prices you pay in the area anyway. They had unique add ons such as pork liver which I liked. Will definitely come back again! We also got a fried rice ball which was basically a fried zhongzi and it was sooo delicious (and probably bad for us)

Yelp
Only bought the red bean rice cake here. It's $3.53 for 3 plus tax. One of them the bottom is kind of hard and the other two i tired are soft. I would say the flavor is good and i recommend it.

Yelp
I found this place when I was in SF and it was amazing! We got the Seafood Rice Roll with cheese and the combination was very unique. Very affordable, would def come back when I'm in the city.

Yelp
First time trying this rice roll spot but a bit disappointed! I ordered a rive roll with minced beef and an egg, and fried 糯米鸡。Portions are generous but I wish the rice roll comes with more sauce and chili sauce! It is a bit tasteless in my opinion!

Yelp
We came in for 2 orders of rice rolls and ended up waiting over half an hour for them. While the food was alright and hit the spot for the most part, the painful wait time was frankly unacceptable and made the meal not worth it. If one could drive from Irving Street to Chinatown and get an order of cheung fun faster, something about their system obviously wasn't worked out. If they were upfront about how long things would've taken I don't think I'd react the same way, but they didn't realize this until it started taking 20+ minutes for other customers.

Yelp
Small little restaurant to get steamed rice rolls to go. These really aren't your traditional dim sum rice rolls as they have more of a ribbon look to them. We got the minced beef rice roll and shrimp rice roll. 1 order is pretty filling and it comes with a special soy sauce in container. You get to choose 2 toppings per order. We got corn, mushroom, cilantro, and pickled cabbage amongst the 2 orders. Additionally, they have some desserts available and we got the sesame rice cake. And also cold milk tea which was nice and strong but it was not icy cold. Everything tasted pretty good.

Yelp
I really love the food and they put so much effort in the food and I've been going there 3 times a week. They also give 2 free toppings which is really good. Overall, this place is a great place to go to and I recommend going there and give it a try.
