"Steam Theory Brewing Company, a new brewpub that’s obsessed with experimentation, is set to open next month in Trinity Groves. Established as an incubator for new restaurants, Steam Theory’s new space at Trinity Groves will be host to a restaurant, tasting room, and brewing operations. At any given time, Steam Theory’s brewmasters will be concocting upwards of 15 different beers and serving more than two dozen brews on tap in the tasting room. According to the brewery’s website, it will emphasize seasonal blends, with one or two new beers on offer each week. In line with that experimental mentality, Steam Theory will invite patrons to weigh-in on Steam Theory’s new brews; popular blends will get a more permanent spot on the menu. Along with the brew operations, Steam Theory will offer a full menu of dishes that it says won’t be won’t be “gastro” or “pub-like.” No word yet on the specific dishes or even the type of cuisine that will be on offer, but the brewery promises seasonally-appropriate dishes that make use of local ingredients and, of course, pair appropriately with the beer. The open kitchen will be fashioned to give diners a front-row seat to the action, and Steam Theory touts a chef’s table that can be booked for large parties. While there’s no exact opening date available just yet, the website mentions a June debut, and a video posted to the company’s Facebook page shows its brewpub in the throes of final construction. Stay tuned for an official opening date." - Alaena Hostetter

Very friendly staff and a large selection of great house made beers. Also, the menu looked great. But after waiting 25 minutes in an almost empty restaurant at Sunday brunch, I was really getting restless. Once the food came, it looked like it was worth the wait. The chips, with my pastrami sandwich, were perfection!! Then I bit into a tough slab of house made pastrami. My wife’s Eggs Benedict looked great but room temperature. The biscuits were hard on the outside. I had heard a lot of great things about this brewery, and I really wanted to like this place. They do have great beer, so I will be back, for the beer.

Great location and extremely nice interior. The bartender was attentive, and the beers were really good. They have a decent size selection of liquor if beer is not your thing. We really enjoyed the beer and wings flight. However, we both agreed that the loaded fries were the best. We will be coming back to try the pizza in the near future.

Full marks for their beer! I had a flight of 3 barrel aged stouts plus a chocolate peanut butter stout. I'm usually b not a big fan of PB stouts but this one was very good. The barrel aged stouts were even better! For food I had the Philly with fries. I ate all of it, the fries were particularly good. Alas they were out of several items because of an unusually busy Saturday. But everybody at my table seemed happy with their food. Sitting outside means enduring the sometimes loud traffic. I will try to return next time I'm in the area!

Had a fantastic time at their soft opening this Saturday July 7th! The decor is incredible and the environment is definitely welcoming. There is so much to enjoy; hop atom and hop molecule logos, hop cone lights at the entry way, natural flamed wood tables with black pipe legs, and tin ceiling clouds over both bars. There's awesome steam punk and vintage offerings for the eyes! The servers are sweet and there is a ton of potential! Can't wait to come back on Wednesday July 11th for their first food offerings! Great beer, fantastic atmosphere, fun servers, and great food; you can't go wrong!

Would not recommend due to slow service with food that’s just ok at best. Service: The restaurant was half empty. Chose the patio as it was a nice night. Service was extremely slow. The menus were drenched with beer when provided to us. Flight took a very long time along with no napkins/utensils until food came out. Food: Nachos were good but not great. Halibut tacos were probably the best dish but the sides were ok at best. The poutine sounded delicious but came out with cheese in lumps and not even warm. Drinks: their selection of beers sounded good but presentation needs work: the flight comes half-spilled so all glasses sticky. Very disappointing experience. The location is also not the best if you park in the trinity groves area. It’s hard to cross the street and can be dangerous.

Amazing experience at brunch today. The witress was kind and helpful and they have mimosa flights along with a huge selection of tasty beer. I had the chicken and waffles and we ordered the poutine for an appetizer, not pictured. Other dishes included chicken fried steak, wagyu beef burger and eggs benedict.

Let me start with this: the vibe? Amazing. Chill. Friendly. Alright, now into the real review: Steam Theory is amazing. They're right outside my apartment so I go there often for a post-working-from-home drink. And I always bring along my little buddy and they're so great with him :) Not only do they have a delicious and expansive selection of in-house beers, they've always been absolutely wonderful about my food allergies, checking on ingredients multiple times and at each visit in case something has changed. Today I ordered a cheese-less pizza (due to allergies) and this is the first time I've had a cheese-less pizza that didn't fall apart without that cheesy gooeyness!!! It's a miracle!!! So whether you're coming in for their Beer30, their trivia, their games, or just to wait for your reservation across the street, BE SURE TO STOP AT STEAM THEORY!!
