Excellent service that feels very personal, a good selection of seafood, all of which was excellent, and a reasonable selection of wines, some of which won't break the bank. The roasted mussels appetizer is exceptional. The scallops over risotto were wonderful, the Steamers linguine was awesome, and so was the pasta special. We will go back.

Our server Charles was excellent! The food very good, I had the fish tacos 😋 One companion had the Burger and she said it was very good. The other companion had the Greek salad and she said it was great. Restaurant was clean and tables weren't too close together, a plus in my book ❤️ The bathroom was clean and kept up. All in all it was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it ☺️

My wife and I have eaten at Steamer’s Grillhouse many times since I posted my first review 18 months ago, so I think that an update is long overdue. My original review was for lunch on the patio. This one’s for dinner in the main dining room. I love their fresh grilled halibut, especially when it’s in season. Unfortunately, they don’t take it off the menu or give us a heads-up when it’s not fresh. At dinner last month (January 2023) our server said that the fish was fresh, but it obviously wasn’t. It was overcooked, dry, flavorless, and seemed like frozen fish to me. At least the organic mixed greens on my side salad were as good as usual. My wife really enjoyed her scallops and risotto. The four scallops were plump, juicy, and perfectly grilled, and the risotto was rich and creamy. It’s a great combo, and she’s glad they added it back onto the menu. Service has been mixed on our recent visits. It’s been efficient at times but occasionally slow. I realize that it’s tough to find a sufficient number of high quality employees these days, so I hope their service will get better in the near future. The Matulich brothers have done a good job growing their family business from a small storefront to a large white tablecloth restaurant, and they’ve built quite a loyal following over the years. It’s been inconsistent lately, so I’m reluctantly lowering my rating from four to three stars. Nevertheless, we’ll continue to dine at Steamers… at least for now… with the expectation that it’ll improve. ORIGINAL REVIEW: 8/3/2021 After more than 40 years of consistently great food and service, this family owned and operated restaurant has earned its rightful place as a Los Gatos institution. This review is just for lunch, but we’ve also enjoyed happy hour and dinner at Steamer’s. Their unique Shrimp BLT is one of my favorite items on the lunch menu. It’s made with oven roasted jumbo prawns and applewood smoked bacon and it’s served on toasted focaccia bread with a generous helping of fries. Other menu items that we’ve enjoyed over the years include the roasted mussels, fresh grilled halibut, tortilla soup, clam chowder, fish tacos and prawn tacos. My wife wishes that they’d bring back their scallops and risotto dish. I’m hoping for a return of their fresh Alaskan (instead of Pacific) halibut. The dining room decor is looking a bit dated, and some of the upholstery has even gotten a little threadbare, but that’s all understandable given how restaurants are just struggling to survive these days. Many of the servers at Steamer’s have worked here for years and their professionalism is apparent. This is a white tablecloth restaurant but the food and wine are fairly priced given the quality. Reservations are recommended, especially if you want to sit outside.

Friendly staff. Lots of room. They were following the covid protocols well. They also have plenty of heaters so we were comfortable. The food is also pretty good here. We had three salmon, steak and the short ribs. They were cooked very well. Good drinks selection as well.

We visited Steamer's Grill House on a rainy day. After we were seated, our server Bill greeted us with a genuine smile and engaging conversation, instantly making us feel welcome. We settled on indulging in the Clam Chowder, Grilled Scallop, and Seafood Linguini. The Clam Chowder arrived steaming hot, tantalizing our taste buds with its rich, flavorful broth. It was a perfect start to our culinary adventure. Next, we savored the Grilled Scallop, which proved to be a true delicacy. The scallop was expertly cooked, tender and juicy with a subtle smoky flavor. But the star of the evening was undeniably the Seafood Linguini. This dish, my personal favorite, was an absolute masterpiece with an assortment of delectable seafood, perfectly cooked to achieve a harmonious blend of flavors. The combination of exceptional food and impeccable service made our experience truly unforgettable. Don't miss out— give Steamer's Grill House a try!

Excellent, service, food quality and presentation. Patio dining is perfectly situated off the street. Food, dessert and drinks are not over priced. Servers go out of their way to ensure your plates are just what you want.

I guess I don’t get it. I have been here three times and am always disappointed. I have ordered a fish dish, pasta and today, Caesar Salad with prawns. The salad I sent back. Minimal effort and maybe a whiff of dressing. I cannot believe how difficult it is to get a decent Caesar salad anywhere but this was the most entertaining. The prawns were amazing.

We dined around 7:30 PM on a Friday night. Snap.. Service was extremely prompt. We only waited 5-10 minutes. We sat at a table in the Bar area. The Steamers were excellent! Cocktails excellent! The Short Ribs were excellent! When in Los Gatos...go to Steamer's. Enough said!

Had lunch here on a Sunday! The atmosphere is peaceful and not too crowded. The service was friendly, and we were given complimentary bread while waiting for our food. We ordered a few dishes: - The Sautéed Local Petrale Sole ($35), which was available that day, came with a delicious lemon-garlic butter sauce and coleslaw. Super flavorful and fresh. - The Marinated Chicken Skewers ($20) were a nice mix of flavors with baba ghanoush, cucumber salad, pickled onions, house-made ricotta, and Moroccan flatbread. It was a well-rounded dish with great textures. - Steamer's Clam Chowder Bowl ($13), which was creamy and hearty--perfect for a lunch starter. It is a little on the pricer side but I enjoyed my meal here and would recommend it for a peaceful lunch spot or even a special occasion!

Thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday afternoon lunch here. The atmosphere was lovely, the service fantastic, and the food delicious. I ordered the seafood linguine which came topped with prawns and loaded up with crab. I don't think it was possible to get a crab free bite even if I tried, it was fantastic! My mom went with the prawn blt and was happy with here choice as well. For dessert we went with the chocolate truffle cake. The first bite was just okay but as we made our way into the gooey and warm inside it got quite delicious. I didn't get a cocktail, but my mom did order one and when she thought the taste was off and asked if she could get a different drink, our server Tony was happy to offer before we could even finish asking. He was great throughout the meal, very personable and friendly. Looking at the menu before we came in sort of threw me off as I always imagined Steamers as an upscale fish house, and the prices, atmosphere and service are just that. The menu however seemed to have many items with sides I wouldn't expect to find paired with seafood, ie. beans and coleslaw. But alas, they also had more traditional seafood items that I geared towards. Overall I enjoyed my meal here and would come back. It is a little on the pricier side and does feel very nice inside so I'd probably save it for a special occasion over a casual meal.

Another yummy lunch at steamers. The fish is so fresh and they offered two different kind of fries. I tried the sole with shoestring potato fries. The fish had a lite sauce that was very, very good. Our waiter,Charles, was so nice to us and we really appreciated his sense of humor. Please note, this restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday for lunch. The interior is lovely and we plan to return but we need to save up some more money first.

This is a great restaurant. The ambiance is a large restaurant with a quaint and warm environment. The staff was really friendly, and catered to everybody's needs. The food was delicious! My favorite was the braised short ribs! Our friends loved the steamers linguine. And the Rombauer Chardonnay, went great with the meals! Definitely will be back!

What a beautiful evening in Los Gatos and we have a table outside on the patio. Tony is our waiter and he is delightful! I'm ordering a house made blackberry infused martini to break my one week sobriety! lol

If you're looking for pure Los Gatos this is it. It's fun. Not too crowded. Feels like what the California pizza kitchen wishes it could be. The bar... great! Good drinks. Consistent in taste and the service is fast. Two sips from empty we were asked if we wanted another round. One sip from empty the next drink was served. My only complaint was the AC didn't seem to be on or could cool the building. It was 92° outside so we were hoping to find some relief. It was not here. Oh! And who ever crafted the drink menu needs to research the original Trader Vic's Mai Tai. It absolutely does not have orange or pineapple juice. The original 1944 Mai Tai I oz fresh lime juice 1/2 oz orange curaçao ¼ oz orgeat syrup or Homemade Orgeat Syrup ¼ oz sugar syrup I oz dark jamaican rum I oz aged martinique rum Shake well with plenty of crushed ice. Pour unstrained into a double old-fashioned glass. Sink your spent lime shell into drink. Garnish with a mint sprig. The meal Food was great! We started with what I think is the best thing on the menu. The crab cocktail. Decent sized bowl of crab served with melted butter and cocktail sauce simple but great. Grilled fish. I had sea bass she had halibut. Desserts chocolate truffle cake & crème brûlée. Both desserts were good but the chocolate cake won out. It was rich and complex. Service.... Fast friendly and courteous. Music... There was music but it was faint and hard to hear. Noise level... at 430 no one was there i At 530. Place was packed and loud. I'd def go back.

The food really is okay , the appetizer is staple and the presentation of the food was alright too. What made it a 4 star ? The service ! This server went all out and all of them are super attentive. He knows the menu and the drinks really well . Called all the ladies in my table madame and the guys sir. The ambiance is great as well . I can see myself coming back. Yeyyyy

Been coming here lately. Food is good but the kitchen service is a bit slow. When you're in a hurry, not a place to get lunch. It took 30 minutes for the food to come out. For a Pasta and a sandwich, it's shouldn't take that long. However, our waiter Charles was great.

(Update to earlier reviews) My wife and I ate lunch here today, arriving around 2pm. We were seated immediately. Our server was very helpful with the menu choices and our food was great. First, I must address the rumors swirling around town.... Steamer's is NOT closing. They are in business for the long haul. The rumors appears to be based on the fact that other establishments nearby have closed. Steamer's lease is good until the end of December 2024. They are currently in negotiations with the landlord to renew the lease for hopefully 10 more years. [This information is from the manager of Steamer's]. We are glad that the rumors are false! As usual, the food was delicious. We started with a half order of steamed clams ($14). The taste of the clams and the accompanying broth was great. I'm glad that there was plenty of bread to use to absorb the broth after we finished the clams. My wife had the Roasted Prawn BLT sandwich ($25). She ordered it only slightly spicy which was perfect. She said that it was a perfect blend of tastes of the blackened prawns and the bacon. French fries were included with the sandwich. I had the Blackened Snapper ($26), which was served with a nicely spiced rice and beans. The fish was covered in just the right amount of spices and was moist and delicious. Note that there is a 3.5% "Economic Adjustment" charge added to the bill. I don't mind paying such "fees", but it would be better if the menu prices included all "fees" built into the prices, rather than a surcharge. The fee was disclosed on the menu, but some people might not see it there. The restaurant's decor is nice, but I noticed that there was noticeable dirt on the tops of the arches, the crown moldings, and by the air conditioning ducts. It would make a nicer ambience if everything was cleaned. There is no sign of dirt in the lower areas where people are seated.

AMAZING FOOD! Pork chop and mashed potatoes with veggies and this amazing sauce. The Pork chop was huge and I needed to take part if it home. Husband enjoyed his linguine and prawns. The food was so good! Service was great by the waiter who showed us a few dishes as we mulled over the menu. Restaurant decor was very nice. It was packed so get a reservation for a weekend night. Prices are not cheap but they do have a Specials menu for the night. Full list of wines, cocktails and beer. Tons of parking underground and nearby. They have outdoor dining as well. I can't wait to go back!

Steamer's is closing. This is extremely unfortunate, as it is one of the best restaurants I've been to....anywhere in the US. The ambiance is fabulously comfortable. The food is terrific. The servers are knowledgeable and entertaining. And for what you get, the pricing is reasonable. In short, everything there is super good. But sadly, it's all going away....

We had a delicious lunch of calamari, clam chowder, shrimp cocktail, a green salad and the grilled shrimp sandwich. All were so good, and we are sad they are closing this month.

Fairly recently I visited Steamer's with my family for the first time, which is a bit of a surprise given that I grew up in the area. The oyster options were delicious. My daughter and I ordered a few plain ones and I also tried the loaded oysters (I don't remember their name on the menu) which were a TREAT. Who knew bacon, cheese, and oyster could be such a tasty combo. The sparkling rose was taaaaasty and I had no consequential effects the next day (it was from France and they do wine well). My entree was a bit deflating (grilled salmon, vegetables, & fries), I suppose I was expecting a bit more of a "wow" factor in it's presentation. The salmon was very tasty, the fries were fries, it was the sautéed vegetables I would do without next time. They weren't very exciting and were sautéed in a cheap vegetable/seed oil (boo) so the flavor just wasn't popping. That's really my only critique/piece of feedback here and I imagine it isn't enough to inspire the entire food industry to replace their cooking oil with high quality fats/oils. But one could hope, right? #TeamButter

I hadn't dined at Steamer's in over five years and wasn't sure what to expect, but it was a wonderful experience, both in service as well as food and ambience. Our server, Tony was very attentive and personable. The blackened prawn tacos were fabulous! They were even playing Brazilian jazz/bossa nova - one of my favorite genres! So happy to see Steamer's is still providing a quality dining experience in Los Gatos!

Tonight's Special was off the charts delicious! Pork chop and mashed potatoes with Brussels sprouts and this amazing sauce. Also Eddie our waiter heard us talking about the end of the bread and in no time at all I had 3 end pieces now that's some amazing service. Todd is my personal favorite he is so accommodating I can't express how much he is attentive to my likes and dislikes warm Water and Diet Coke! He knows his costumers! This is our new go to place! Todd thanks so much for your personal touch when I come and eat at Steamers! Happy New Year!

My favorite place for roasted mussels! The recipe has changed a bit over the years but still delicious. The mussels are plump and juicy. The truffle fries are a perfect compliment. Thinly cut and so crispy. Perfect to dip in the mussel juice. The buttered toast is to die for! This place is very popular. So come early or make a reservation.

Came back here for another special occasion because we loved it so much from our first visit last June. Reserved indoors this time, the vibes were great and very busy with many customers. Not sure why the food didn't turn out the same way as we remembered. The appetizers were okay, but the calamari wasn't as crispy or light/fresh. The shrimp BLT was sad-looking but still tolerable since the ingredients were fresh, but the bread was tasteless and the flavors and textures did not blend together well. The linguini was not linguini: The noodles were way over cooked and the sauce was extremely watery. The servers insisted it was the same chef as last time. Overall service was lukewarm. Probably won't come back in a while sadly. Note: They don't accept Apple Pay :(

The restaurant, like down town Los Gatos is quite posh and lovely. The service is super kind and amicable. Our server was named Tony, and he was super friendly. The food was really good. You can tell it is freshly made. I had the prawn BLT which is quite unique and surprisingly delicious. My only complaint was the bread they served was a little stale but other than that this place is solid. Overall, I definitely would recommend this restaurant!

Nice but super noisy. Don't sit inside. I think our waiter was stretched thin-we didn't see him for long stretches, and when we did, it was hard to understand him because of the noise and his thick accent. Anyway, coconut prawns appetizer was fantastic, halibut very nice, Steamer's linguine was tasty but the crab and prawns on it were very sparse. Finally, the Sesame crusted Ahi was very good. Dessert of the brownie and coffee gelato was exquisite as was the Tiramisu. Wine list is overpriced

Their service was impeccable. Warm comforting ambiance. The food was okay, I ordered the Grilled Sea Bass with vegetables and fries. The grilled veggies were delicious and perfectly seasoned. Fries were good, just little too much salt for my taste. To my disappointment, sea bass was just okay. Maybe tad under cooked.

My daughter surprised me on my Birthday here at Steamers. She exspressed the amazing hostess how sweet and kind they were to her and aloud her to put her suitcase away on the side of the waiter area. Tom, Brittany and I had the best service thanks so much. Todd is one Superburb server over the top service, it was the best service I have ever had. We had Jumbo Prawns, Oysters, Mussels, Scallops, Chocolate Lava cake, Pumpkin cheese cake, and Rib Eye steak.. Wow! Loved loves loved Steamers from back 40+ years ago when it was across the street from its current location till now. So very sad to see it closing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for a lifetime of amazing food.

Steamers is a classic seafood restaurant in adorable downtown LG. All of your favorites done well! Calamari, so good! Grilled halibut, perfect! And the martinis...excellent!!!

chicken skewers were tender and flavorful parents got the linguine and blackened snapper and were happy with the seafood pizza I got had a nice crust this is more of a nostalgic place for my wife. not the most modern experience but seems like a solid standby

Stopped in for lunch today,not busy at all for a Sunday.Made reservations but not necessary. Dishes ordered: Crab Cake Special,Greek Salad, Chowder,Grilled Chicken Salad and Burger with fries. The Crab Cakes were $28 and they only give you 2 with a sauce and tiny slivers of grapefruit with some type of veggies.Super small portion and so disappointed. My husband thought his Greek Salad and Chowder was just OK. Other dishes were fine but felt this place was overpriced tbh.

Food and service is good, but your bill will include an extra 3.5% "economic adjustment charge" (an unexpected addition price that isn't reflected in their menu prices.) This is a rather unethical, perhaps even sleazy, way to increase prices without having to tell your customers. Go somewhere that doesn't surprise you with additional charges assessed after you've eaten.

It was my very last day at work so my coworkers wanted to do a send-off dinner aka see you later. When I first arrived it was extremely packed. Hi were it was a beautiful place. I have deducted one star because the person that my friend talked to as the host was a bit rude. Like I understand it's busy but there's no need to be mean. There was no where to sit to wait for our table so we had to improvise. We ended up sitting at a booth at a bar and grabbed the table next to us as he folks left. It was really close to getting our table for our reservation. So we checked in and the folks who were at our table wouldn't leave yet. So we decided to take the table at the bar. The man who cleaned up our table was so kind and our waitress was so sweet, informative and kind. I had the the basil lemon drop (love!), the blackberry lemon drop (too tart for me) and the steamers linguine with 2 prawns. Absolutely superb. Definitely coming here again. The calamari was amazing and also the crab and artichoke dip.

Always good. Special treat for our anniversary. Calamari, Steamer's house salad, and baked oysters with a glass of chardonnay. It's good to be back in California! Service was excellent. Enjoy looking out the windows at the Los Gatos foothills.

My mom and I snagged a seat at the bar over the weekend to get down on some apps and drinks. We started off with a beer and margarita. I ordered my marg spicy with a tajin rim. The bartender forgot the tajin rim on the first go around and it could have been spicier. I let him know before making the second round and it was much better. I will note that to our disappointment, there was a $2 extra charge for the few jalapeños used to make the spicy margs. That always gets me. Okay, onto the food. We got the ahi tuna tartare, marinated chicken skewers, crab- artichoke dip, and mussels. The ahi was perfect and we ended up ordering another order at the end because it was just that good! The sauce on the side adds the nicest touch to complete the bite. The skewers came with some pita bread and hummus- so yummy! It also has some pickled onions on the side. My mom loved the dip and the mussels. She got a half order on the mussels, but it seemed more like a full. You definitely get your bang for your buck. The bartender was friendly and remembered my mom from her previous visit. Definitely worth a visit if the menu perks your taste buds!

I have to eat Gluten Free and nothing on the menu is marked as GF so you have to try to figure it out. They're not very flexible to change anything to work with you either. I ordered a pomegranate mocktail and my husband got a glass of wine. The wine came right away and my drink never came. We finally asked the waiter about it and found out that the ticket got lost and so it wasn't made. Finally, I got the drink. It was good but took way too long to get. I ordered the Grilled Halibut (I wanted it pan seared and the kitchen said they wouldn't pan sear) with grilled vegetables and potatoes. When I got the food the halibut was good and it was warm (as it should be). The vegetables and potatoes were cold and not eatable, like they were done about 20 minutes before the fish was done. My husband got a cup of the clam chowder which he said was good. He also got the Scallops with mushroom risotto. He said the food was good but it was at room temperature. I feel like the portion size for their entree is quite small considering the prices they charge. They made too many mistakes with my food and no one cared to make it up to us. I do NOT recommend this restaurant and don't plan on going back.

The food was good. The Ahi and Scallop dishes were quickly prepared, elegantly presented and delicious. The wait staff courteous and efficient. However, it appears the owner is unaware of a new law in California requiring restaurants to conspicuously identify, before ordering, any additional fees. Although COVID has been over for some time, this restaurant is still adding a hidden 4% surcharge to the bill. The food, service and ambiance were good, but just average when compared to other restaurants in the same cost category.

My grandmother raves about this restaurant, so I had to check it out! Came in on a Thursday evening and it got pretty packed. Luckily we beat the rush and were seated immediately. There is plenty of seating at the bar and in the dining rooms. The lighting is low and there's good space between you and other tables. Once seated waters and complimentary bread is served promptly. We were given menus and the the lowdown on the nightly specials. We ordered: -cup of clam chowder to share (you gotta try this, nice and thick) -pork chop special (the celery, pistachio, and pomegranate mix on top was delicious) -sea bass plate -bread pudding for dessert (GET THIS!!!!) -old fashioned cocktail -lilikoi sour cocktail Our server, Duke, was attentive, patient, and helpful when it came to recommendations. The food was hot and cooked well. I really enjoyed my experience here and would absolutely come back with friends and family. Thank you!

This was my first time here and the food was so yummy! My husband and I really loved it. The service was quick and good. The portions weren't too big, just the right size for one person. It's in a great location too. I highly recommend it!

The inside is spacious and beautifully decorated! They also have some outdoor seating with patio heaters for those that want to eat outside. It was my first time here and we ordered the oysters, the sesame ahi tuna, a bottle of wine, the coconut prawn appetizer, and the seabass! Everything came out great and perfectly cooked and they brought everything out with perfect timing as well. Most the kids menu items are $10, so my kids got the butter pasta which they really liked. The kids were also entertained with the crayons and coloring page they provided. The service was impeccable. They made sure to get the kid's orders in first, as kids can get impatient! The oysters were on the smaller side but very tasty. The seabass was cooked to perfection and the sesame ahi tuna was also seared just right. The prawns were jumbo and come with two on a salad. They were fried crispy on the outside and so delicious! For a large party, they add a 20% gratuity and a living wage on top of that. So the price is on the higher side but the food and service was worth it.

This well loved restaurant has been consistently top notch every time I go in. The clam chowder & Seafood Linguine are super stars. Yesterday for lunch, we ended a lovely meal with an affogato al caffe, 2 scoops of vanilla gelato, drizzled with a shot of espresso, 2 rolled wafer cookies, and a side of incredibly smooth & thick chocolate sauce. By far, THE best affogato I have had. This dessert, alone, is well worth a visit to Steamers.

Reservations are recommended, especially if you want to sit outside.

Great service. The food was pretty good as well. The restaurant could use a bit of update, upgrading. Feels like it was stuck in 2000s.. ambience is ok, I prefer smaller areas, cute and cozy. We asked for tartar sauce but they gave us 2 caper sauces lol Apps: artichoke dip with crab was pretty good, and the warm pita bread was fantastic. Tuna, tartare was OK but four pieces definitely not worth the price. The crackers were extremely salty for me. Fish was slightly over cooked and portion sizes $40, which is slightly more than average. Dessert was not fresh, could taste that it was made a day before or so. Appreciated the presentation tho. They accommodated us and let us stay over their closing time which was nice.

Manager Todd is the best! This an upscale restaurant with delicious food. Great service. A good value!

My boyfriend and I were in DTLG around 7pm on a Saturday night. There was an Italian restaurant that we had intended on going to, but without reservations the wait would be an hour. We decided to walk around and hopefully find some place that we could easily snag a table. I haven't been to Steamers, but this restaurant was one my boyfriend used to frequent often. It had been almost 20 years since he last been there, and I was open to giving it a try. They didn't have tables available in the main dining area. However, there were a few spots in the bar area that were open, so essentially we were seated right away. Service was all around excellent. Food came out in a timely manner, and our server was on point the whole night. She appeared to be the only person covering thr tables in the bar area too, yet she was friendly, attentive, and super efficient. We didn't have huge appetites at the time, so we shared the calamari appetizer and seafood linguini with add-on prawns. The fried calamari was cooked well, and I liked that it was lightly battered. The calamari was bland though and needed a bit more salt. The side of aioli helped. The seafood linguini was so flavorful and wasn't as fishy as I thought it would be. I appreciated how juicy and plump the prawns were. I wish there was more crab in the pasta, and I did find the pasta to be overcooked. The lilikoi cocktail was fantastic! It was the first drink that stood out to me on the cocktail list, and I'm glad I went with my gut. I loved the sweetness of the passion fruit and smooth creaminess from the egg whites.

Firstly the young hostess had the worst attitude- needs training on being a hostess and friendliness. No vegan or vegetarian options on the menu. The halibut was the tiniest portion of food I have ever seen - smaller than a kid's portion. It was like a joke. Paying so much ($180 for 2 people) for lunch & then having to stop 15min afterwards to get another meal because we were still so hungry - unbelievable.

Absolutely horrible. They have really gone downhill. Good thing they're closing down in December. The service was atrocious. We had 630 dinner reservations and we're there for over 3 1/2 hours. It took forever to get our appetizer and also entree. Halibut not good and came recommended. Dinner for 4 with drinks close to $400. Never again.

Had lunch with a friend on Friday, March 29, 2024. Not too busy, we each ordered a cocktail and a bowl of Clam Chowder. Our server was excellent, our cocktails were not "mock tails" but they should have been! Our chowder was lukewarm, if that. Since we ordered a bowl, not a cup, we expected more that a few ounces! Then, on our bill, was the new "service charge" for nothing! So, we paid over $60, and left hungry. Won't be going back.

The food here was amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly and served fast. The service was really good and friendly. Our server was quick to top off glasses, clear and clean the table and fell any of our requests. The ambiance was really nice, dimmer lighting, side music and warm. Made it nice to have conversation and connect. I'll be back here.

Had a reservation at another restaurant in Los Gatos, but didn't like the seasonal menu for the night and ended up trying Steamer's instead; very happy we did. Kept it simple, ordered a ribeye steak with fries and green beans, cooked perfectly and tasted awesome. Great service, would definitely repeat!

Making reservations was a bit regimented so I wasn't sure what to expect. There was the "entire party of four must be there by 5 or we can't seat you" to "you get an outdoor table for 1.5 hours only," I'm glad I relied on my inner zen and ignored all that and decided to stick with the reservation. We all enjoyed our dinner and there was no mad dash for the outdoor seating. I think we sat out there for three hours and our server told us we could stay longer if we wanted. Drinks were excellent, the salmon was cooked to perfection but the "double veggies" were definitely not double. Deserts were great. We shared everything. I had the espresso gelato mixed with some kind of chocolate cake. Calamari and shrimp for appetizers- awesome. See photos. Definitely try this place. Would go again.

My daughter and I had lunch this past week at Steamer's for the first time in awhile. As always the food was excellent - I ordered the steamed clams with linguine instead of their regular seafood linguine and my daughter ordered the steak cobb salad. Sadly, our waiter was virtually non-existent. After being seated for sometime, he showed up to take our drink orders and we gave him our food order at the same time. It took quite awhile for our drinks to be delivered and eventually our food showed up. We asked for dessert menus and when he finally came back to see what we wanted he told us they were all out of our desired dessert. If he already knew this, why didn't he tell us when he gave us the dessert menus.
