"One of a handful of quality Durango craft breweries, Steamworks Brewing Co. makes a mean Colorado Kölsch — and serves grub to match. The cicerone certified servers will help patrons decide between the Conductor Imperial IPA, One Wit Wonder unfiltered Belgian white ale, and Steam Engine Lager." - Monica Stockbridge

Google
Excellent burger and fries! More than I could eat and I don't leave food too often. The salad was large enough that two people shared it. The outdoor seating was nice and shady, and they allowed dogs. Enjoy and follow me!

Google
Loud but great place to meet friends. Not the best for young kids. Our server, Jordan was FANTASTIC. Friendly, cheerful, helpful and attentive. Give that guy a bonus. Top notch service. Kitchen staff did great with all of our meals! The food and beer were all delicious! Glad we stopped in and checked this place out while visiting from out of town!

Yogi Young

Google
This an enjoyable venue with great food. We were offered the option of sitting out back in an open air deck with a roof. Or inside. Jason, or server was quick to take our order and returned regularly to address our needs and top-off our drinks. I had the Cajun Cavatappi Pasta, and my friend had their wings. They were the biggest tastiest smoked wings either of us had eaten. The pasta was amazing. You're crazy if you don't try this place! YUMMY👍👏

Steve Archer

Google
Nice selection of beers. Good portions on entrees. Had a group of 6 and check was $160. Burger was large. French dip had bacon added. Pork chop was cooked perfectly.

Google
Great food. Friendly staff. I always come here for either the fish & chips or the bacon burger. Everything is good every time. I highly recommend if you're in town or passing through, to try steamworks.

Phil Montgomery

Google
Very cool vibe with great food and beverages. I love chicken fried steak and a wonderful green chili sauce, well let’s just say umm good. My wife’s chimichangas was equally as delicious. Great selection of beer and other beverages. Service to match the food. Pepper sausage and chili cheese curds to start

Rick Koch

Google
Tremendous food and great beer. Plus, the prices were reasonable. I loved my Indonesian peanut salad so much so that I went back and got it again the next night with salmon! Great service!

Xuechen Zhu

Google
Nice place. I give them a high rank from service to food. The only drawback is that we waited a little bit long for food. But it keeps being busy so it is not unexpected.

Yelp
First time in Durango and glad we found Steamworks on Yelp. Strong selection of craft beers. Our burgers were delicious. Our server Josh is either a true brew master, or just an expert on beer. I went with two of his recommendations and both were 5 star in house selections. The place was busy on a Mon. eve which was a good sign as well. Highly recommend.

Daddy J.

Yelp
Good times ~! Dylan was good help. Our order requests were met and executed pretty perfectly..... Timing and pacing of our food was perfect for our casual evening dining desires.... We were grateful for our impromptu brewery food experience here. Good job - Thanks !~~

Jamey S.

Yelp
My family and I had dinner here while visiting Durango. Very busy, fun atmosphere. Service was speedy and friendly. We had the dirty fries as an appetizer-just ok. They were loaded but tasted sour. I had wings which were very fatty. Flavor was good, couldn't past the meat. Mom had salad, with grilled chicken, it was good. Husband had steak which was under cooked but, still had good flavor. Drinks were really good, we all ordered Old fashions and they were very tasty. We may go back to give it another go, but the food was over all, was mediocre. Service was excellent.

Channon D.

Yelp
They worked with me for my three allergens. They were super helpful and willingly helped me with bringing together a full meal from items. Had salmon, black bean succatach, and mushrooms. Loved the salmon so much I had a second piece. Super great!

J Warren R.

Yelp
Recommended by our hotel, the menu is varied and lengthy. The place is also busy even on a weeknight. Although we were told it would be a 30-45 minute wait, we were seated within a few minutes of arrival and shortly after we had order one of their craft beers from the bar. The brewery has several brews, in different styles, all the we tasted were great and quenched the thirst. The BBQ chicken special was alright. Sandwiches were also okay. Service was really good. The place looks like a popular brewery, which it is.

Lindsey C.

Yelp
Y'all this place is awesome the pizza was delicious. Caprese pizza (with chicken) is what I had for dinner. My dad had the chicken quesadilla. It was packed with chicken. Also had a beer flight (left to right) Ale Diablo-Spruce Goose--Sultán of Stoke IPA--Kolsch--Steam Engine Lager--Conductor Gunner was an amazing server!

Nanea W.

Yelp
Great food, and the atmosphere was just right. Your typical brewery vibe which is one of my favorite places to eat at. Came here with a group of 20 something and was honestly pleased with how fast the food came out. Only complaints is that our servers mixed up one plate and it took awhile for them to get silverware out. They were busy so it was understanding. Definitely would come back! Also my burger was delicious but the pizzas looked insane so definitely coming back to try it!

Jeremy P.

Yelp
The smoked french dip was more like a fat sandwich with bits of actual meat. Absolutely disgusting and would not recommend. I kept pulling the slimy fat off and making my sandwich more like an overpriced slider. The 3% plate charge is just poor management. Price your menu. Adding fees like this is like panhandling so you can pay your employees. Don't recommend

Amanda W.

Yelp
Beers were great! We each had a light lager from their tap while we waited on a table to open up. We were there on a Saturday at 1pm after walking around Durango. Everything was great!

Denika F.

Yelp
Always a stop for us when we're in Durango. It's right downtown and had great ambience. It's rustic and modern. We love to sit on the back patio, great views. We always have great service! We recently got the pizza and fried buffalo wings. They were delicious! The wings were not a saucy buffalo, but still had some heat and were perfectly crunch and moist inside. Definitely a stop if you're in the Durango area.

Shikhar P.

Yelp
Ordered the 10 oz steak and fish and chips which were decent. Steak was over-salty. The Conductor was a nice brew. On the check saw them add charged for 'extra lemons' and Malt vinegar, which we we never ordered, but were brought with the entrees. On questioning the server, he claimed, they were not charged, when they were clearly on the receipt... and that since they only put 1 lemon slice, so he added a couple more - and then charged us for something we didn't ask for.

Yelp
We had a great experience here on a Sunday afternoon! There was a wait for tables, and the place was pretty packed for a Sunday outside of peak lunch/dinner hours. I think we got here around 3:30 or 4? The hostess told us there was a 20 minute wait, but we luckily found two seats at the bar almost right away. The bartender was wonderful and got our food and drink orders in fast. They had multiple TV's playing various games. Although neither of us were watching, the guy next to us requested a game and they were able to change the TV to the game he wanted to watch. I got their Everyday is Sunny sandwich with portabella mushrooms, zucchini, tomato, provolone cheese, cilantro lime aioli, sunflower sprouts, on a ciabatta roll. It was really yummy! I also got their fries and they were deliciously crispy, just how I like them I also got their Bubbles seltzer, and unfortunately they had run out when I went to order a second pint. It was delicious - not too sweet, I really enjoyed it. They have a pretty extensive menu - burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, and a wide variety of entrees. If I lived in town I would come here often.

Jamie L.

Yelp
Walking in, we were quickly seated by very warm and welcoming hostesses. Upon being service, the service was fantastic. We were seated near window. The ambiance is of that of a restaurant/brewery, open and airy. Our server, Mikayla (I think) was warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and prompt. I had a hard tea (they were out of their typical hard seltzer Bubble Stuff), described as not as sweet as twisted tea, which was a completely accurate description. My partner had the shady lady, which was not sweet and more earthy in flavor. For dinner, I had a mushroom pizza. The dough was light with light herbs folded in. It could have been cooked/baked a bit more IMO but first pizza/dough at this altitude, so may be how it comes out? My partner had the Mediterranean Salad, which had lots of items in it, filling and good. The service really made the experience as it was so good.

Eric B.

Yelp
This brewery definitely has a little charm, great beer and one hell of a chef!!! We didn't expect to actually eat dinner here but we were really glad we did! Not only was the blacken ruby trout a great dinner, it paired perfect with the stout beer I had. If you're looking for some local brew and great food, you have got to try out this brewery the next time you're in Durango, I know I will make it a point the next time I'm in town.

CeCe M.

Yelp
My husband said the Cali Burger was the best he's ever eaten! It cooked perfectly, and the avocado and red onions were the favorite part of the entire burger. The Cajun fries were so good (exactly how like them, and I loove fries), and I loved that they offered to give me ranch on the side. I got the Smokey Prime Rib Dip sandwich, and it was good! But my husband's food was definitely the star of the show. I asked for a recommendation for a beer pairing, and recommended the Steam Engine Lager. Loved it! If we come back to Durango, this will be our first stop!

Brett L.

Yelp
First time at Steamworks, had a great experience. Sat at the bar w/ 90-year-old father. I ordered the Cajun dusted wings with habanero sauce. Sultan of Stoke IPA was recommended by a bartender. Both were outstanding. Both bartenders, including Sammi, were awesome! Very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the beers and food. Will definitely be back!

Mike G.

Yelp
Fantastic brewery and food. We each enjoyed a Backside Stout and could've easily had more than one. Smooth and creamy, it rivaled our favorite beers. We started with an order of the Quinoa and black bean falafel. The falafel and pita were delicious. The yogurt dip was huge. We could've used a bit more pita, but perhaps it's good we didn't eat more than we did. My Chimichurri Angus Steak was cooked perfect and tender. Perhaps a bit too much Chimichurri, but I just scraped some off. Asparagus and potatoes were both delicious as well. My wife's smoked sirloin may've been better than my steak. If we end up going back at some point, I might try this one next time. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. One of the better meals we've had in awhile.

Destiny L.

Yelp
I grew up coming to steam works for the occasional semi-fancy meal and although I don't live in the area anymore, it definitely was a must visit passing through with some friends. I will say, their menu has changed a lot in the years since I had been. But oh my goodness, I am obsessed with the blackened tuna bowl. Specifically the citrus habanero vinaigrette that comes with. It's was a filling and tasty option and definitely inspired some future vinaigrettes at home. We did wait awhile to get seated, but it was worth having a little time to walk around the Main Street area. We sat on the back patio with the dogs and everyone had a good time. Overall very worth it.

April S.

Yelp
Great food, you won't be disappointed! Good beer, nice atmosphere. Service is top notch!

Nancy N.

Yelp
We liked it enough to eat dinner there two nights in a row and it may end up being three! Food was solid. Beer menu has a good variety. Service was great.

Mary Z.

Yelp
After a long day of travel, this food hit the spot for us for dinner! My cousin loved the udon noddles with grilled chicken, and her husband enjoyed the Angus beef burger with provolone and batter-dipped fries. My Indonesian peanut salad with grilled chicken was amazing! It was loaded with carrots, edamame, rice noodles and chicken breast, with a peanut sauce dressing on the side. I was very hungry when it came to the table, and it was so big I couldn't finish it. The menu is large, and our server was familiar with everything on it. We were there on a Sunday evening and had to wait about 45 minutes to be seated. The rain was coming down in buckets, so a host led us to some empty tables inside to wait, which we appreciated. We understood the popularity of this place--good food and good service. Prices were reasonable, too.

Tasha M.

Yelp
Good food, but nothing special to rave about. Being a brewery, it can get busy in the evenings and weekends and not worth waiting a long time for food. Prices are also a bit high, but the plates are filling. Staff is friendly and always ensures that drinking glasses are never empty. Beers and ciders were ok. I was not a fan of the cider. Fod and drinks are average overall, IMO.

Amanda W.

Yelp
Gluten free fried chicken is amazing!!! I also loved the wide selection of gluten reduced beers. Our server was great and very knowledgeable about the beers and the menu.

Abir D.

Yelp
Had a fantastic experience at Steam Works Brewing Company! The ambience and location were excellent, creating a welcoming atmosphere. While the service was a bit slow, the value for money regarding the food was impressive, and the beers were outstanding. Highly recommended for a delightful overall experience!

Chris O.

Yelp
Food was pretty good. Had their pasta with chicken and sausage which was tasty. Tried a small sample of their beers and they were not amazing but not horrible either. Service was on point and the ambience was chill. It was for those last two reasons I would give this place another shot.

Kale B.

Yelp
This place rocks! Really enjoyed my fish tacos and tried a few brews. My friend got their "Gyro" and said it was the best he's ever had. I will definitely be back if I ever come to town again. Well done & well run

Boo K.

Yelp
The flight was delightful. Amazing little pours. The hop water hit hard. So yummy. And my food was pretty bomb. The people were really nice too snd my dog was treated so well and he loved it too. It also is pretty nice inside but I prefer the outdoor seating! Good vibes

Cori W.

Yelp
I'm sure residence from even 15 years ago will say Durango has grown so much.. and they're likely not wrong... but it still feels like small @$$ town. So don't be surprised when this place lacks the glitz and glam esthetics you're visioning for aspen Or telluride. However, in taste and brew craftsmanship they do not lack. They are happy to give you a taste of everything before you decide. Each will drive your delight! The Chimichanga was the best I've ever hard so far. The tortilla is something else - pastry like almost.

Lisa T.

Yelp
We stopped in to share a burger about 4pm. They sat us in the side room where there weren't many people, however, it filled up right away. We just shared a burger which was delicious. The bar area is very noisy, so we liked this room a lot. It had big, open windows. The service was great too. We will stop there again the next time we visit.

Lindsay J.

Yelp
The food and service were excellent! The burger my sister had was one of the best she had ever eaten!

Jennifer F.

Yelp
The fish and chips was overcooked. Hardly any fish inside the dark fried batter. Fries were only warm. Flies were inside and bugging us.

Maria-Christina S.

Yelp
When looking for a good dinner option in Durango, so many people recommended Steamworks, and of course, we had to try it for ourselves. One thing we heard a lot was that the wait can get long, especially on weekends for dinner, but Steamworks has figured out the best way to make your wait more efficient by being able to join the wait list online and giving you an arrival time - which worked great! We walked in at our arrival time and sat quickly. The place is HUGE and bustling - the staff seems to navigate it well, and service was excellent. The beer and food variety was perfect; not too fancy, not too big of a menu but tasty with apps, salads, pizza, burgers. Simple, but it had a nice Steamworks twist - TBH the best house salad I've had in a minute! We also had pizza and the bangers & curds which seemed to be endless. Plus, of course some great beer and a tasty pear cider.

Mina P.

Yelp
We had a great time at this restaurant-we actually went back the second night of our stay in Durango, too. The first night my husband and I split this veggie pizza, and took home 3 slices. Both nights we sat at the bar and got great service from our bar tenders! The ambience was casual and not too loud. Prices were reasonable-with beers and food, we spent around $60 each meal. Highly recommended for casual dining and great beer.

Hunter M.

Yelp
The food was amazing and it's worth the wait and I traveled here for vacation. The service was going great until we were rudely told to turn the volume down on the phone for a child in our party watching a show. The volume could only be heard at our table. It was incredibly rude and turned our experience from great to bad.

Kellye R.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place and it is hands down the best restaurant in Durango. When we visit Durango we eat here almost every time we eat out. Every single thing I've had on the menu is delicious and makes you say, "wow" when you taste it. This trip I had the Chimichanga with barbacoa pork and it was the best pork I've ever had! I also had the Indonesian Peanut Salad and the French dip with smoked prime rib. Both so good!! My husband had the trout and then the fish and chips and the Mac and Cheese and crispy wings. His was just as good. My only complaint is that I wish they had that barbacoa pork on a sandwich too! I can't recommend this place enough. There's plenty of TVs, the atmosphere is nice and the sound level is not too high, the ease of putting yourself on a waitlist from home is so convenient, and the service is quick and efficient. It's a must when in Durango!

Phil A.

Yelp
Great good & beer! Menu has variety plus a few standards. Their infused mineral water is amazing! Prices seemed fair for the location and quantity.

Rob W.

Yelp
The fish tacos were delicious and the Maui pizza was amazing The Patron Margaritas were just right we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes to get seated and our server was Amazing !!! Plenty of room at the tables and easy to view the TV.

Patty C.

Yelp
The server was really nice and we got plenty of attention even though the place was packed with large groups of people. The artichoke dip was a little thick and dry and the chips were good, but the thick bread that came with it was unnecessary. The rest of the food was good. My salmon was cooked perfectly and so was the pasta. My friend enjoyed her meal as well. Will definitely come back.

Chris S.

Yelp
Everything was great! A short wait, friendly server, cold beer, great food. Nice atmosphere, very clean (the restroom got out of hand midway through the night, but spotless aside from 1 bad customer). I had the Chimichurri Angus Steak and my girl had the Indonesian Peanut Salad. We had a few beers, as well as a 6-taster flight. The Conductor IPA went very well with the steak. The Backside Stout was very nice, but I have to say, I was shocked to love the Prescribed Burn. Highly recommend Steamworks Brewing for a great experience.

Dwayne R.

Yelp
3rd evening in a row. Dining here is an experience, everything is top notch. You simply cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Even the side salad is the bomb. It's the little things that matter to this establishment. Get you some!

Geary R.

Yelp
The best clam chowder I have ever put in my mouth! The gyro was darn good too. A great place to eat in Durango. Great service from Ian.

Bryan M.

Yelp
I had the dirty fries and they were just OK. They had some flavors that didn't really go together. But it was actually ok, not great, not bad. But the beers there were really, really good. I had the pillsner and the I. PA and the bartenders were very knowledgeable.

Margaret W.

Yelp
Food is terrific. Reasonable price and interesting flavors. Service was the best. Very nice place. You might have to wait but it is worth it.

Lisa S.

Yelp
The food was excellent and the service above and beyond. Bryce was our waiter and he truly was outstanding. My husband spilled ketchup on his shirt and he asked bryce for some Club Soda to get the stain out--Bryce not only got the club soda but he also put it on the cloth so all my husband had to do was blot the stain out. Not that's service! I am still thinking about the fish and chips--panko breaded and oh so good!!!!

Monty W.

Yelp
Steamworks Brewing Company came recommended by several friends on Social Media. So we had to give it a try. We showed up around 6:00 pm on the Wednesday of Spring Break. We knew we would be in for a wait. Fortunately, we were able to get a parking spot close by. *Remember go pay the parking meter if you're parking before 6:00 pm. The Meter Lady was walking the streets checking on everyone* We got on the waiting list. We were initially told it would be ~90 minutes or so. Cool. They were able to get us seated in about 60-75 minutes. Cool vibe when you walk in. I mean it's a brewery. And MUCH bigger than it looks from outside. Our waiter was very knowledgeable with all of our questions about the menu. We started with the Bangers N' Curds. They were outstanding! For entree's, we had the Smokey Prime Rib Dip, the Dirty Burger & the Maui Wowi Pizza. My Prime Rib Dip was fantastic. Spot on what I was hoping it to be. My wife's Dirty Burger got 4/5 stars. My MIL's Pizza was good. The jalapeños were STOUT. Probably borderline overpowering. Flavor was good but very spicy. All in all, we had a great meal & would definitely visit again when we are in the area.

Cyriah Y.

Yelp
Traveled all the way from Mesa, Az for the Maui wowie Pizza. What perfect hot pizza to have during the winter. HOWEVER, the pizza changed from now compared to year 2021. It feel like it was prepped with love and care and caressing then and now was just a big slob of wetness and huge chunks of ingredients not to much brown sugar. It was like someone was a grinch in the kitchen. I was deeply saddened. I would never come back.

Andrea W.

Yelp
Gluten free and dairy light eater. To start of most of the reason my review is at a 3 is because they didn't as good as I hoped at listing what is and isn't gluten free. Many items were listed but the sides weren't. Or what would make a meal gluten free. Those small details make a huge difference to me. I got the peanut noodle salad. It was pretty good. There was a huge portion. I had left overs. My drink was delicious. Our waiter was fantastic and very helpful. I would come back again.

Rich M.

Yelp
Good selection of beers and great food. I had the chicken wings which were large moist and flavorful. I come here every time I'm in Durango. It's well worth it!!

Michael D.

Yelp
Amazing Beer! Chill and cool vibe inside and out. The Hammer Time IPL was incredible. Super piney and hoppy with a sweet flora undertone. The Oktoberfest was delicious as well and refreshingly light.
