Another location for the Steamy Piggy (1st is off Convoy) and it couldn't be better! Easy access right off the 8 with a plus of an ample amount of easy to get into parking! Our host and server, Ethan, was welcoming, polite, quick with drinks, good check ins and delivery of food with reasonably amount of time between starter to main dish and then refills and readily available for any questions. The food was very amazing, easily noticeably made to order hot and fresh, the flavors were absolutely perfect and well balanced as they swirled around your taste buds -depending on which dish, sweet and savory or spicy, garlicky and salty, tangy. We stared with the sautéed bok choy in garlic and butter, which was a very abundant starter (easily could feed 4); with was tender but not soggy with a powerful but not over powering fresh salted garlic. I got the Bulgogi Chow Mein and it exceeded my hopes for the dish! The meat was in perfectly shaved medium thin slices tender yet crisp with the entire flavor being exactly on point, with that slight sweet but super savory beat that danced across your tongue and makes you want to keep on eating -again great portions, 2 adults can easily get full on it. The hubby got the 3 tacos -bulgogi, chicken, & pork belly! After having the starter and some of the chow mein he started with the pork belly and loved it, texture and flavors were perfectly in line and cooked . We tasted the chicken and was nicely surprised at the sweet with the delayed spicy kick! If I wasn't already too full I would've stollen and eat that one 🤭. The decor is fun, light, and fresh as well; welcoming and comfortable. It looks like they're still in the process of fully setting up this location, so more to come. They were also excellent in timing, we were in and out in 35 minutes but it didn't feel rush at all, felt like we were there for easily an hour or more. So a great lunch option for sure!

Google
This place is delicious! We are so glad we gave it a try. We tried the Bulgogi fries and Bulgogi bowls. Portions were huge. Loved everything we tried, thai tea was phenomenal as well. Our server Traci was friendly and attentive. This is going to be a regular place to eat when we come to San Diego.

Google
Was very unpleasantly surprised by the food. Definitely expected more from the awesome reviews I had seen and the epic interior design. The wings was just a bad decision, dry and lacking flavor. The soup dumplings were nothing special. The wontons were my favorite part those had a great flavor profile. Fried rice was just good, hard to mess that up. Portions were pretty big I’ll give them that. The sauce on everything table was kind of sweet chili sauce and that may have been the best thing there, not a great sign I put it on everything. Service was slow, all were nice and pleasant but they were not quick with it in the slightest. Chance we just had a bad expirence but I have no plans of ever coming back.

Google
Absolutely loved this place! The food and drinks were delicious, and the whole atmosphere is insanely aesthetic; literally every corner is photo-worthy. We’re visiting from Maryland and had this spot on our must-try list before leaving San Diego, and I’m so happy we finally made it. Totally worth it!

Google
I'm never disappointed whenever I come here. Got the braised pork, salt and pepper wings, and the pork and chive dumplings. Enjoyed all of them, especially the onions on the wings. Tracey and Lee were very nice and helpful. Thanks for a good dinner experience!

Amber S.

Google
Definitely had to stop here on our trip to San Diego. And boy were we happy. Eugene was such a great waiter and very friendly. We had the pork belly bao and taco along with the pot stickers. Everything was delicious and flavorful. A must stop on tour next San Diego trip

Lauren E.

Google
This place is soooooo good! Lee was our waitress and gave us the best recommendations and was so friendly! Eugene also helped us and was amazing! We loved the beef chow fun and soup dumplings. The book choy blew me away, and the little custard buns shaped like piggies were the perfect end to our meal! Definitely coming back!

Jeff S.

Google
We tried a variety of things during happy hour and they were all great! Eugene was fantastic and was running the whole front of house with ease right at dinner rush. The bolgogi fries, chili wonton, pork bun (from the flight), soup dumplings, and pork baozi were standout and I'd highly recommend them. Seeing everything that came out of the kitchen, I don't think you could go wrong though. Sadly the custard buns were out of stock, but we were stuffed and happy regardless. We'll be looking out for this brand and their sister restaurants.

Yelp
Finding a Steamy Piggy in Point Loma was a nice surprise! We'd been to the one in Kearny Mesa/Convoy area, which was good and a nice size but parking is always an issue in that area. The Point Loma location is in a nice little shopping complex with plenty of parking. It's a great space inside - fun decor and neon shapes of piggies and kawaii things. But the food was amazing! Everything hit, nothing missed. I really wanted the Braised Pork Belly bowl which came with plenty of rice, and the sauce wasn't overwhelming. We also got the Pork and Chives dumplings, which were really good - and you get 8 per order so plenty to share. It came garnished with bok choy too, which I ate with the braised pork belly (I had wanted to order the side of bok choy but it was $12 - a little too expensive IMO). Hubby also got a pork belly bao which he said was almost too flavorful, but really good. Service was ok. The place wasn't busy at all, yet our server made little mistakes. Handing us a Diet Coke instead of a regular coke... taking forever to get us napkins... But it was fine. Maybe just an off day for her. The food is what will get us coming back for sure though, so compliments to the chef!

Yelp
Delicious food, great ambiance, and awesome service from Oz! My personal favorite is the Red-Braised Pork Belly Bowl--the pork was so soft, tasty & juicy! The marinade is the perfect blend of sweet & salty. We're definitely leaving today with happy and super full bellies!

Yelp
Steamy Piggy just straight-up RUINED my life in the best way possible. I'm not okay. I haven't been okay since the moment I took my first bite. Send help, send stretchy pants, send a priest because I have seen the light and its name is Steamy Piggy. OZ. My man. My legend. My personal superhero in an apron. This man doesn't just serve food-run, he conducts a full-on symphony of flavor straight to your table. Attentive? Bro predicted my needs before I even had them. Funny? I almost choked on my drink laughing. Knowledgeable? He broke down the menu like a Michelin-star poet. I would follow Oz into battle, into the apocalypse, into another round of whatever that spicy pork masterpiece was. OZ DESERVES A RAISE, A STATUE, AND HIS OWN HOLIDAY. And the FOOD--Lord have mercy. I'm convinced the kitchen is run by wizards who sold their souls for the perfect glaze. Every single plate that hit the table was obscene levels of delicious. Steamy? Baby, it was volcanic. Flavor? Punched me square in the soul and I said thank you. I moaned. Out loud. In public. Zero regrets. I'd propose to that crispy pork belly if it were legal. Steamy Piggy isn't a restaurant. It's a religious experience with a side of addiction. I'm already plotting how to become a regular, how to bribe Oz to be my lifelong server, how to move in next door. 15/10. Life-altering. My taste buds have filed for divorce from every other restaurant on earth. Run, don't walk. Beg for Oz's section. Thank me later (through tears of pure joy).

Yelp
Super cool spot in Point Loma with pretty plant- centric decor and chill tunes. We had the pork and chive dumplings which were very soft and fresh and served with a yummy sauce that had a bit of a kick. The Bao tacos were delicious... had the piggy taco with pork belly, hoisin and spicy mayo and the chicken taco with fried chicken and spicy mayo. They were both sublime! The bell buns were so soft on the fillings, created quite the fusion delight. Our server Lee was wonderful and accommodating and her recommendations were spot on! Don't miss this place!

Yelp
I come to Ocean Beach for quick get aways from LA. I wanted to try some good spicy salt and pepper wings. Thats why I chose Steamy Piggy. I got this order to go just before they closed. Red Braised Pork belly - Very delicious. Lots of rice and good flavor on the pork belly. Very deep. This was my favorite. Pork was falling apart tender. Piggy Bao - Standard pork bao but this was loaded with toppings and delicious sauce however I do believe on the menu it shows pork belly but we got was a shredded pork. It ddi not strike me as a pork belly. Maybe they ran out as it was closing time? Its all good it was still tasty. Salt n Pepper Wings - I was a little taken back here. I was kind of expected the norm semi crispy loaded with the fried pepper / chiles and garlic and onion crispy stuff but these are done a slightly different direction. Here they are prepared in a more chile oil with more onion that is sauteed. This brings a nice umami flavor. It is something different. Braised Pork is a must. Piggy Bao is good but would hit best with pork belly. Salt n Pepper wings are good but not great.

Yelp
I enjoyed the Bulgogi and the Beef Chow Fun dishes. They are tasty and the servings are generous. Service was also fast. Ethan and Eugene greeted you as you enter and served you water right away. They are very nice and made the dining experience great! The decor is cool with all the fluorescent lights.

Yelp
Maybe don't go on a Thursday night when the restaurant is full and they have one person working the entire restaurant? They had no beer and no sparkling water. Okay. The positives. The decor was super cute and piggy themed. But they don't have a ton of pig based dishes on the menu. I digress. Positives. I will definitely be back for that bulgogi roll and the bulgogi chow Mein. Safe to say the bulgogi is the best thing on the menu. Ooh and the bok choy is excellent too. The reason for just three stars? The soup dumplings were dry and not served with a soup spoon. I appreciate the shrimp dumplings are gluten free but they wrapped fell apart easily. The worst was the mango sake. It was like drinking sugar water. I'll be back because I'm an optimist. And for the bulgogi.

John S.

Yelp
I got the chicken bao and the beef bulgogi bao, and the chicken roll. I liked the chicken bao and chicken roll because of the spicy mayo! The thai iced tea was also very good, not super sweet. The ambiance was also very nice. Our server Lee and Eugene were great!
google avatar

Xtine T.

Yelp
Server Lee and Eugene was hustling on a decent Saturday night. Nice ambiance. Loved the bench seating for kids. I ordered the bulgogi chow fun and spicy ramen. Great flavor, but both was a little too salty for me. Also, I feel like the chow fun could have been more gentle with the stir fry cause the chow fun was very broken apart.
google avatar

Yelp
The appetizers are out of this world! They dont have too many but what they have is more than enough. We ordered enough food so that we can try it all and that was the way to go! We ordered the salt and pepper wings, sauted bokchoy, soup dumplings, shrimp dumplings, potstickers, and the piggy bao. We ordered a side of kitchen and that is the most generous side i have ever gotten. All the food tasted amazing! The salt and pepper wings were different than what im used to but were still so goos. The service is great! There were two gentlemen assisting and although most of the tables were full, nor once did I feel like we were not a priority. We ended with ordering the sesame balls and kawaii buns. The buns were so good and extra points for how cute they are. If you are in the area stop by, even if if just for the kawaii buns! P.s.. we were so excited to taste it all we didn't take too many pictures.

Renzo G.

Yelp
Food tasted great, nothing was too salty or too bland. The ambiance was so chill and awesome with the neon lights and plants. Service was spot on. Customer service provided by OZ was top tier. Would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Rene G.

Yelp
I was able to try their Red Braised Pork Belly, was very tasty and pork was so tender. The broth for the ramen was not salty and the noodles were soft. We were served by Oz and he was very friendly and accommodating. The place was very clean and orderly. I highly recommend and will surely come back soon.
google avatar

Lindsay C.

Yelp
The parking here is magical, the interior is huge. I'm SO glad they opened another spot. Their convoy spot is amazing but hard to get to. This was so much easier. We were sat immediately and received our order shortly after ordering. The food is the same and everything tastes so good. I could literally live in the chili wontons
google avatar

Yelp
Food was ok. Service was good. Pot stickers were ok Wings were excellent Steamy piggy ramen was not to our taste
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing food, great portions, and flavors. The Thai tea is good as well. Also got soup dumplings, as well that were good. Oz our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
Steam Piggy and my overdue review is as follows... Located in the midway area in the same plaza as Orange Theory fitness. Plenty of free parking. This restaurant was formerly named Bok Bok, an asian fusion restaurant with a focus on fried chicken items. When I did visit and dine under that Bok name, the food was good. I'm glad the same owners kept the space but decided to pivot and now go with Steam Piggy as the new name offer their popular dishes from their Kearny Mesa location. Had to order the popular signature dishes: Buns, Bao and Har Gow. The Bao is like a taco, made with steamed bun filled with your choice. I chose the Korean BBQ beef and was glad I did, this was soft fluffy and with well seasoned tender beef. The Har Gow which are steamed dumplings filled with shrimp and other flavors were good not great, as the exterior texture was a bit hard, indicating lack of freshness. Equally, not good was the character steamed dumplings filled with egg custard. Initially, these cute dumplings looked cute, but upon closer inspection, the exterior were all cracked, indicating lack of freshness and overcooked. The custard tasted off and inedible. The restaurant appeared clean and had fun cool neon and decorated for selfie takers. Service from staffers was cordial, nice and attentive. Because one of the three foods I ordered was ok, I was disappointed and felt my dining experience could have been better with improved food quality. Left feeling hungry and disappointed.

Lily Y.

Yelp
This Kawaii bun is super delicious and the handmade pork and chives dumpling are also very yummy! Ethan and Yugin also provide excellent service to the customers and know how to handle difficult situation when the customers needs help.
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
I love that this location opened up so I can satisfy my dumpling craving without fighting for parking in convoy. There's plenty of spots to park in and even though they don't take reservations we were able to walk right in. I had potstickers, xiao long bao, beef chow fun, and pineapple fried rice. The food came out fast and the staff was attentive. The xiao long bao takes the longest but our waiter Eugene told us ahead of time which was nice. I loved everything that we tried and will be coming here more often!
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
Food here tastes fresh and unique. The service is also very friendly and quick. Love the asian flavors. Ozy helped us out with recommendations

Sha B.

Yelp
Great service! Great food! Great staff. Great ambiance! Our waitress Tracey was fantastic! Giving thanks for this delicious bowl of bulgogi! Exactly what I need after a day of travel!
google avatar

Hazel C.

Yelp
Great service! Got here in time for happy hour and got to Bao Bun trio - absolutely delicious! The ambiance was casual, with cute decor and great music. Shout out to our great waiter, Eugene. He was very attentive and made sure our drinks stayed filled. Point Loma Location also has really easy parking.
google avatar

Christine N.

Yelp
Friendly service! Shared the following: - Bulgogi fries - so delicious. Fries were crisp, and all the toppings paired so well. Would order this again! - Bao Flight - included bulgogi, pork belly, and fried chicken cutlet. I'm not a huge bao person so I only had a bite of the pork, and thought it was pulled pork at first. - Beef Chow Fun - heaping bowl of noodle! Wished it was fried slightly more. Also tried their passion fruit and yuzu soju cocktails - not sure how much soju was in it, but it tasted mainly of the juice/flavoring. There wasn't a HH menu available in person, but aside from the beef chow fun, everything was on there so that was a nice surprise. Fun ambiance with the neon signs.

Yelp
This place was mega tasty and service was great. The atmosphere was super chill. Thank you :)
google avatar

Sylvie C.

Yelp
This is a nicely decorated restaurant with great customer service and decent food. I loved the documentary film it was playing on the TV screen and how hospitable the server was. The restaurant also is located within a shopping strip making parking a breeze. So many restaurants in the nearby area is street parking or paid parking only, so that alone makes visiting this particular location very convenient. I ordered the ramen and my dining companion, the pork rice bowl. I liked how rich the broth was though I wished the noodles were firmer in taste. I relished the subtly sweet custard filled piggy buns. Hoping to try their dumplings and other items when I go back the next time!
google avatar

Evan D.

Yelp
The broth on the Steamy Piggy Ramen is incredibly savory and comforting after a long day of walking around Liberty Station! The bulgogi and Chicken Katsu baos are both kinds of tasty with their spicy mayo, and you can never go wrong with soup dumplings that just burst with a bite. Tracy and Ethan are also so friendly and hardworking managing the whole front of the restaurant!
google avatar

Vanessa P.

Yelp
We were looking for asian in the area and trying to avoid convoy. We found this one tucked away in point loma. Steamy Piggy Ramen was delicious, only wish the egg was soft boiled instead of full. I had a bao flight, my favorite surprisingly was the chicken but the piggy was good too, I would have liked more spicy mayo, I'll ask some on the side next time. The favorite and I only recalled to take the picture mid plate was the beef chow fun. Sydney was a pleasure, she was fast and friendly and the food came out quickly.
google avatar

Shirley S.

Yelp
Came after a session of pickleball. Service was quick and Eugene was helpful and attentive. Wings, bulgogi fries, and spicy ramen were all delicious.
google avatar

Triana M.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting this Steamy Piggy location. Our server Tracy was friendly and quick, and everything we ate was so delicious! The ambiance and decor around the restaurant is also so pretty. We will definitely be coming back to try the rest of their menu!

Jonas S.

Yelp
Had the red braised pork belly. Egg that came with it wasn't runny which I would have liked. Pork xlb but it was kinda bland and not much soup.
google avatar

Djordjijana K.

Yelp
Amazing food, from baos to bulgogi fun chow and steamy piggy ramen, we enjoyed everything! And our server Eugene was so sweet. Definitely coming back! (Also they have sesame balls for desert!!!)

Yelp
Right when you walk in, it's a nice cozy vibe with pretty lights and lots of greenery. There is some okay music. They are shortstaffed yet they serve you very very quickly. My dad got a chai tea. It was good and pretty sweet. The prices are pretty reasonable. I got a pork and chive set of dumplings and they weren't seasoned, but the filling was divine. They had a nice tangy spicy sauce. You could dip them in as well. We also got three of their soft shell tacos, which are made up of buns. I got the chicken one and it was amazing. They are only 550 each and they fill you up really easily. I am a 6 foot 6 tall guy and I could only eat one or two. Like I said service was pretty quick maybe that's because we came on a less crowded day but in general, the servers are really nice. We were served by Lee. She was cool and she was very nice. She came often asking if we need anything but not in a very annoying way like many others do. . This location it's pretty new. It was open less than eight ago and I think they are doing very well. They have a TV playing random cartoons so you can entertain your kid if they need..I guess haha. I got the Galaxy lemonade, which was amazing. It was sweet, but also a little tart and sour at the same time and it wasn't overpowering. It was very pretty. I think they use butterfly pea for the natural color. And Lee was an amazing server. She gave us some of her recommendations and provides a good insight. Authentic food, reasonable prices, amazing ambience, kind servers, honestly, this checks all of the spots at least for me, and I can be very critical. Thank you to whoever got this far in my long ass paragraph haha

Yelp
We had soup dumplings, shrimp dumplings, bok choy, bulgogi bun, passion punch, and yuzu bloom cocktails. Everything was delicious and the service provided by Ethan and Tracy was exquisite. Very timely and thoughtful and kind. Definitely looking forward to returning!

A C.

Yelp
Won ton soup and bulgogi wrap are delicious! Great ambiance and service. TVs to keep kids entertained as well. Ethan and Eugene were our servers and were super nice and attentive!

Elias G.

Yelp
2nd time here love the energy and the food is 10/10 I love trying new food everything on the menu is good literally!
google avatar

Eric P.

Yelp
Friendly staff and great service. The restaurant is a little small but still plenty of seating. The decor going along well with the theme. The food was delicious and had great taste and came out hot which was so nice. My only sadness was that they not have the spicy wontons. I looked forward to trying those as they as one of my favorite wonton dishes to try when I have dumplings. Otherwise the soup dumplings were very good and I would recommend those. I'll have to go back to try the other items on the menu.
google avatar

Jill K.

Yelp
What a cute little place. Our server, Oz, was friendly and gave some good recommendations. All the food came out quick and was so delicious! The scallion pancake on the roll was crisped to perfection. Fun atmosphere and good lemonades too! Will definitely be back.

Rachel B.

Yelp
We loved the food! We had ramen, dumplings, chow fun and baos! Service was fast and the server Eugene was helpful. We will definitely return!
google avatar

Banjo U.

Yelp
Easy parking, cool vibe, and reasonable price. The serving looks a lot compared to other ramen restaurants. The food is great. I highly recommended this place. Excellent customer servers Lee and Eugene, a big shout out to both of them.
google avatar

Kellie T.

Yelp
We have a pretty picky eater that one of few food he likes is Ramen and this place really did it for him. We ordered Steamy Piggy Ramen ($16), which has Tonkatsu broth and he loved it so much that we had to order another one to go. We also tried the Bulgogi Bowl and that didnt disappoint neither. We wanted to try the Bulgogi Roll, will save it for next visit! From the beginning to the end of our meal, both servers OZ and Tracy took great care of us, very attentive and thorough with little details. Will come again when we are back in town!
google avatar

Wendy H.

Yelp
I came in excited after reading reviews and had my very first bao!!!! I don't eat pork so opted for bulgogi instead and from the first bite I was in heaven!! They fill it full to the brim and two of them was enough for me. Imagine my surprise when eugene my waiter tells me it's happy hour prices! Immediately put in order for the kawaii dumplings since the price was right. Fabulous service from eugene who knew it was my first experience and to the great cook!! Im a happy stuffed piggy now! lol
google avatar

Ganqin H.

Yelp
A great example of fusion done right! This modern Asian restaurant blends traditional flavors with creative twists beautifully. I like the Bulgogi Fries, be aware it is a bit spicy. Oz is very helpful in helping us to pick what best for us. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Christian C.

Yelp
Delicious food, great atmosphere and super chill vibe. Ramen was warm, delicious and flavorful! Definitely recommend to everyone! Service was also great! Lacy was an awesome upbeat server!
google avatar

Tonny V.

Yelp
It's a small Asian fusion restaurant located in a big plaza. We like the cute decors. The service is excellent. They are attentive and fast. The dishes we ordered are good. I like the bulgogi chow fun and shrimp dumplings.

Joreena P.

Yelp
I ordered the red-braised pork belly. It was delicious! We came during the dinner rush. Even though it was busy the service was still good. We will come again!
google avatar

AJ J.

Yelp
Firstly, Lily was awesome, attentive, happy-bubbly-- a great server, a good conversationalist! Made me feel like an important customer even though I looked like I went through the wringer post clock-out in the afternoon. The food was great. I think I sampled enough of the menu. So good I want to come back to try the soup for next time. I had the red pork w rice, the bulgogi fries, and the custard filled pig fun buns. Definitely the kind of food for anyone tryna be bad with a cheat meal like I was. Cant complain about the vibe either. They play good music and you can tell the place is new w all the cool lights and stuff. So definitely a show-off on your insta-stories kinda place!

Nikki B.

Yelp
Fast, great service! Arrived with a party of 5 and Tracy seated us quickly. Some of the tastiest ramen in the area!

Yelp
Sadly, this location has let me down twice. I visited during the soft opening... it was evident that they needed some time to get some basics ironed out. Now two months later it was just as much of a let down. Took my family here on a Tuesday for dinner. Almost everything had issues... The soup dumplings were empty.. overcooked and had no soup in them. The chow fun was also overcooked.. the rice noodles were mushy and like paste. The potstickers? You guessed it... so overcooked that the filling fell out of them when we picked them up. The place was empty when we arrived so it's not like they were overwhelmed... a few other tables had arrived... we still had not gotten one of our dishes... I saw a table that had just arrived minutes before, they had been served our entree of red braised pork belly... and they were eating it. We wanted to just pay and leave... but we had to sit and wait for them to cook serve our food.. which by then we did not want. My 3 kids were hungry but were grossed out by the poorly prepared dishes we had been served. It was a shit show of a meal a waste of money and calories. It's a shame... I really enjoy their Convoy location as well as their sister restaurants. Sadly this spot just can't seem to get it right.

Tom T.

Yelp
Food and service were great, we were greeted and seated promptly. Casual atmosphere, great for getting together with friends or family. My daughter, usually an extremely picky eater loved the chicken wrap. She was hesitant at first, only trying the pancakes wrapper, but once she got a hint of the sauce she gobbled up both halves. Wife and I had the beef chow fun and chicken wings, both boldly flavored and delicious. Really happy we gave it a try.

Teresa J.

Yelp
Came in for lunch when Cali Bahn Mi was closed. Service was quick and helpful and I had a yummy Thai iced tea while I waited for my to go order
