Yelp
We've been following SteelCraft Garden Grove since its opening in late 2019, intrigued by its innovative use of wide spaces and conversion of storage units into a dynamic food and entertainment hub. ASG loves street food that morphs with its environment, and SteelCraft excels at this, creating a unique experience right along Euclid St, with ample parking space enhancing its accessibility.
SteelCraft was one of the first places we visited post-pandemic, and it quickly became our go-to for outdoor dining. It's especially ideal from late Spring to late Summer--a perfect spot to bring out-of-towners or large families a few hours before sunset to enjoy the transition from the day's heat to cooler dusk. We've also found SteelCraft convenient for quick bites, utilizing mobile orders for easy pick-ups with the well-suited parking.
Exploring SteelCraft is a must. While it's not huge, it has charming nooks and crannies waiting to be discovered. Food options abound in various corners, there's an arcade for some fun, and plenty of drinks and donuts to enjoy. Little boutiques offer unique shopping experiences, and if you're lucky, you might catch live music. Our favorite activity is visiting in the evening, finding a spot on the second-floor seating area, and indulging in some prime people-watching. Kids love the freedom to move around, and parents appreciate the ease of keeping an eye on them.
As for food, ASG feels you'll be pleasantly surprised. Each visit can offer a different delight, depending on where you eat. We absolutely adore the Filipino Fusion spot, Barrio. Their menu allows you to choose your protein, sides, and sauces, creating a personalized meal. We fell in love with the pork bulgogi dish--an extreme flavor that pairs perfectly with white rice. Adding a side of lumpia with plenty of sweet and sour sauce elevated the experience. The layered spiciness of the bulgogi, seared into the pork, is a revelation. Pair it with a Diet Coke, and you'll be in culinary heaven.
We fondly remember Penalty Box, which, although gone now, offered a unique Everything Bagel wrapped Hot Dog. This crispy, flaky bagel shell wrapped around a juicy all-beef dog, smothered in cream cheese, was a flavor bomb. Topped with a bit of ketchup, it was a delightful treat. Their burgers and tater tots were also noteworthy, making their absence felt.
On subsequent visits, we often returned to Barrio for their Beef Bulgogi, another flavorful hit. Tea Otter provided a quick and refreshing tea break, offering a variety of sweetness levels and boba options. Dark Horse coffee became our go-to for an off-the-beaten-path bean, perfect for a catch-up with friends over coffee, tea, or a sweet treat. While we miss Duck Donuts, which has since closed, the remaining options still keep us coming back.
SteelCraft Garden Grove is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area or looking for an easy place to entertain guests. Its blend of diverse food options, open spaces, and unique ambiance make it a standout in the local food scene. Whether you're there for a meal, a quick coffee, or to explore with friends and family, SteelCraft offers a vibrant, enjoyable experience every time.
