"A classic fair meat stand known for large, indulgent items such as turkey legs; one customer described ordering two turkey legs as “the best ten dollars I ever spent” and quipped about how a monthly cash stipend could buy many of them, underscoring the stand’s role as a quintessential, camera-ready fair food stop." - Gary He

Been there a couple of times. Food has always been good. Good selection on all you can eat bar. Salad bar was great! Tried a little of almost everything. Will return when in that area again. They also have a menu.

Google
Order med. rare and had to send it back. Came rare and cold. It was nice to have unlimited salad and soup bar though with my steak. We don't have many all you can eat buffet anymore -_-

Google
The food was terrible! Way overpriced (23.99) per person, and the quality and taste was subpar. The food was cold, the shrimp was water logged and for that price, I could have ate anywhere else in Elkins and actually enjoyed it. Don’t waste your time and most importantly your $ eating here!

Google
We had the buffet. An okay amount of choices. Clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Fast service. Baked beans and mashed potatoes where delicious.

Google
Probably tbe best buffet I havd been to. Not much options of food but they are delicious! The waiters were really nice. The steak is way better than the steak at other steakhouses. Definitely coming back!!

Google
Was really good. Mac and cheese was probably the BEST I've ever had. Buffet was hot and fresh, worth the price. Will definitely return

Google
Food was terrible. My husband can eat anything, he couldn’t eat this food. Even the salad was inedible. Five people, $113, we all had the buffet. The variety of food we tried: catfish, chicken, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, salad, white cake chocolate icing, butterscotch pudding, fried apples and bread pudding.

Yelp
Ok. I've lived in Elkins close to a year and didn't come here because of the poor reviews. I'm not sure why the reviews aren't good as my experience has been very different. I was greeted upon entering and took a look at the hot, salad, soup and dessert bars. I didn't choose the hot bar as I am allergic to gluten (wheat) and most things were fried or likely to have gluten. I did choose the 10oz sirloin special which came with choice of baked or sweet potato or fries, the salad, soup, AND dessert bars all for under $20 (including adding mushrooms, onions and peppers). Seating is your choice and the server promptly brought my water (with lemon juice packets) and more napkins. I grabbed a salad and some peaches from the bar. Before I finished my salad my steak arrived. Other reviewers mentioned lack of seasoning on the steak. Yes, it isn't heavily seasoned like at Outback, yet I don't think that is a bad thing- especially for folks who have high bp. Too often food has too much salt. And... there was salt, pepper, steak sauce and ketchup at the table. The baked potato comes with butter and you can grab sour cream, cheese and bacon bits from the bar if you want a loaded potato. I haven't checked out the dessert bar as I am full but everything I've had so far was very tasty. Yes, it is reminiscent of visiting the old Ponderosa steakhouse and buffet from my youth in the Midwest and that isn't a bad thing. I sat in a booth, with comfortable seating. The server checked in several times and asked if I needed anything and more water. I will definitely be back on Tuesday's with my 19 year old son who can give me more feedback on other food!

Yelp
My husband and I have been here many times while out on a Sunday motorcycle ride. This is my "go-to" place. The buffet is wonderful, the food is always hot. A nice variety of options at the salad bar, and they even have sugar-free desserts. The staff are attentive and polite. The place is always crowded, so I don't understand the bad reviews. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be going back!!!

Yelp
The staff was beyond rude. Food was not the best and it was definitely overpriced. I don't recommend.

Yelp
We were visiting the area and saw the sign and decided to get steaks, but then realized it was a buffet as well. I have to say, the food was terrific, great salad selections, and the pork was out of this world. The fried chicken marvelous and our waitress was attentive and brought us the hot rolls that were hot hot and fresh! We were happy with the buffet, all you can eat and some delicious desserts!

Yelp
Good food and service! The buffet is always hot and fresh. Also well priced and great for lunch

Yelp
Not sure why this place got so many bad reviews. I've had nothing but good experiences here. That being said, if you're looking for Ruth's Chris or Old Hickory, this isn't it. Most recently I ordered sirloin well done and a baked potato. They managed to cook my steak so there was no pink, but it wasn't chewy like shoe leather. Alot of restaurants fail on that. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the salad bar. An attendant straightened it up and refilled it while I was there. Overall a great small town steak house with reasonable prices.

Yelp
My New York strip steak was overcooked and over-salted. Mushrooms were over-salted. Baked potato was overcooked. Waitress couldn't tell what she was serving (I hate to refer to her age, but most staff in this establishment should be retired in Florida instead of...). No wonder they made you pay first...

Yelp
Loved the food here and it is amazing place to take your family!! Seafood night is Friday my favorite time to go!! Good people working here!!

Holly A.

Yelp
My husband and I have been to many steak restaurants, and by far this is the worst we have ever been. Ice cold potatoes and the steak was even worse. Please save your money and go to McDonald's, it will be better. One star is even to good.

Virginia J.

Yelp
Showed up and stood up front waiting for someone to help me. I had never been here before so I wasn't sure what the process was. They make you pay first and ask if you want to leave a tip but you haven't even had service yet. After paying I stood there waiting finally I walked to the buffet and began to get food and no one said sit where you want instead I stood up front waiting for directions. Finally someone asked me what I was doing and told me to sit where I wanted. Also, the steaks were tough and you couldn't chew it. The sides weren't bad and the desserts were spoiled. I took a bite of the chocolate pie and the stink of rotten milk and I almost threw up. I walked out immediately and left. I paid $20.12 for the worst service and food.

Yelp
One of the best place I've ever been good atmosphere and right in the middle of town food is really good and the staff is nice

Yelp
Meh. A very average buffet, reminds me of the Ponderosa chain, without the slick graphics. Frankly, a bit overpriced given the area. Then again, given the weight of some of the patrons, maybe not... I went for the Friday night Dinner Buffet with my biker buddies, and for breakfast the next day. The dinner buffet was pretty sub par. They have a tiered pricing system, so when you take a quick glance and see all those choices, understand that the general dinner price does not include all the different bars. Institutional mashed potatoes, thin bits of broiled steak, mac and cheese that tasted as if it came from a 10 lb can, canned green beans that were so over-boiled you could mash them. There were two highlights: The fried chicken was very good, and the dessert bar was also quite nice. They had a hot cobbler, which I topped with ice cream and strawberries. The cold salad bar did have quite a few options, which was nice, but none of the cold items were particularly good. Breakfast the next day was about what you would expect: Eggs, Biscuits and Gravy, bacon, sausage, pancakes. All were done well, but nothing above average. Let's face it: it's hard to screw up breakfast. The lady serving the soda and coffee was very attentive, and made sure we didn't go thirsty. Otherwise, the staff was generally not seen. The best thing about it is its proximity to the Super 8 Motel. Not "bad", as ancient buffet restaurants go, but not particularly good, either. 2 stars.

Yelp
If I could give negative stars I would give this place a -5 stars!!!!! First of all the signs say steakhouse but it's a buffet. Next it cost us $60 for FOUR PEOPLE including my 8yr. The floors and tables were dirty. The food looked extremely old and was cold! They had stuffing that was either black or it was mold! Since we had already paid we thought we'd at least try. SIMPLY HORRIBLE!! I grabbed a salad and even it wasn't appealing! So I went up and asked for a manager. I think it was the owner and his wife. She flat out refused to refund my money. The guy told her to go ahead and give me a refund. She kept repeating that their Buffet was fresh and GREAT FOOD. I told her that it was her opinion. Well she refused to give me a full refund and gave me half my money. So I walked out paying $30 for about three bites of food per person. I WILL NEVER STOP HERE AGAIN!!!!

Yelp
The sign along the highway says Steer Steakhouse, Buffet or Menu. It's pretty much a Sizzlers. The buffet option is ~$12. If you get a drink with it it's another couple dollars. The buffet has typical choices - comfort food (mac n cheese, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, etc), some steamed veggies, yams, ham, steak (sirloin. it was pretty bad), meatballs (but no pasta), fish sticks... includes soup and salad bar, which were nothing great, pretty average, and dessert bar with some cookies, cobbler, ice cream, cake. Ordering from the menu includes soup/salad bar and dessert bar. The ribeye was ~$19. The service was very friendly and attentive. They filled our drinks before we asked. Good meal. Just not sure the food was worth the price.

Yelp
All the food was bland or just one big glob of grease. Do yourself a favor and skip this place because they're expensive, and the food is horrible

Austin S.

Yelp
Worst place I've ever ate at! Food wasn't cooked all the way, found a hair in the food. And waitress's were very rude and didn't refill or check in at all.

Yelp
Buffett has a very large variety of items. The Steak is very good and there is at least 4 types of chicken. Large Salad area.

Yelp
The spinach and cucumbers were ok. I personally thought all the food waa bland. My bf got sorloin.tips which tasted ok but were completely over cooked. My drinking cup had black.stuff all over it. I wont be going back.

Yelp
Absolutely crap, service was nice, but I'm not sure my steak came from a cow, it is pricey, none of is finished our meals because it was so terrible. Staff was super friendly and definitely was the only good thing at this place

Anna Marrie L.

Yelp
Not the best place to eat. Food was disgusting and one of the fruit on the cold bar was spoiled and the manager left it on the bar for customers to eat. Then she killed a cockroach of the waitress station counter. -5 stars

Yelp
This place is okay...they are a buffet style steakhouse without any real steak on the buffet...more like roast beef. You can order a big ribeye for about $18 that comes with the salad bar. The steaks from the grill are pretty good, I can't complain. The menu is a bit confusing, they make it look like onions, peppers, and mushrooms are a couple bucks to put on your steak....but be warned they are a couple bucks each! That was a big surprise when I got my bill, however, they give you more topping than any other restaurant I've ever seen. Dessert is also included for free which is pretty good...cake, pie, cookies, ice cream. None of which is worth it's to-go price, but not bad thrown in for free. Salad bar is acceptable. My friend got the buffet option around $14 and he was very pleased with the food and went back for seconds.

Yelp
This is your typical Buffet Style Restaurant, the steak on the buffet was tasty and I went back for seconds, the wait staff was attentive and kept our drinks full. We did enjoy the green beans, and potato salad. The rolls are really yummy. If your looking for Fast, and good, stop here....
google avatar

Bruce C.

Yelp
All food from the buffet was public school cafeteria bland. The salad bar was sub par at that.
google avatar

Yelp
Not worth the price. Had the buffet, which did not have much selection. But then again, there isn't much else to eat around there..
google avatar

Christopher B.

Yelp
Took my family here twice. Think they have a menu but we got the buffet around 6pm both times. Kids liked it. I thought the food was all pretty dry and bland. Not much else to say. Service was good, just think food needs a bit of help.

Erin D.

Yelp
It's everything I imagined a steakhouse buffet to be: painfully mediocre. My whole dining party went with the buffet. I tried a variety of things and was underwhelmed by all of it. The sirloin steak was overcooked and bland. The fried chicken tasted like it came from a supermarket deli. The mashed potatoes were obviously made from potato flakes. The turkey was dry. The mac and cheese was nothing special. I grabbed a cake pop on my way out but the cake was too dense and the coating was soggy. I won't be returning.

Yelp
the salad bar was good but the hot bar was so so not very good today and the waitress totally snubbed us . said hi to everyone around us and would not even bring us our drinks . the waitress on the other side did finally did get us our drinks after about 10 min. the waitress had curly redish hair and glass. to have to pay 30.00 dollar to eat and be asked if we want tip money which we did. it not nice to be shunned . we will not be going back any time soon. needless to say we left no tip!!!!

Troy T.

Yelp
The food was good. I ordered a medium rare sirloin and it was cooked perfectly. 3 cute girls were working which made for a more pleasant experience. My only problem with the place is that they don't serve beer, which to me is a big deal, I enjoy a beer or two with my steak.

EC C.

Yelp
This place is horrific!, My wife and I ordered 2 8 Oz Ribeye Steaks, they NEVER BROUGHT OUR DINNERS..We waited 45 minutes before asking for our $$ back. We were told by a waitress at the 45 minute mark, " he ( the cook) has them on the grill, BUT we don't know what he is doing?......YIKES, STEER CLEAROF THIS PLACE, and another question?, why did the buffet at 9:00pm look as if it was NEVER touched?....The doors close at 9:30...ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!

Brandy W.

Yelp
This is one of the worst places I have been in a long time. It was too expensive for the amount of food and the quality of the food. There was NO service, we actually got up and filled our own drinks, got our own napkins, everything. Basically, it was just horrible and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Belington G.

Yelp
Had the seafood bar. It was no good very few choices. The price was over 50.00 for two will never eat again. Stay out of the bathrooms they are gross.
