"Situated in the historic centre of Padova, this restaurant is home to owner-chef Stefano Mocellin, whose colourful, creative and personalised cuisine is influenced by his past culinary experience in cities such as Milan and Venice. From Milan, for example, he has taken the legendary “cassoeula”, to which he gives a lighter touch thanks to his use of more than one type of meat (pork and duck), while his “saor” and the sardines that he uses to stuff his plin pasta are inspired by Venice. Underlying all of this is his passion for cooking over the barbecue grill, the main focus of almost all the dishes on the menu." - Michelin Inspector

The only thing more impressive than the quality of the food is Stefano’s personality and the incredible service staff. The “grilled” pasta is a dish that I will never forget. Similarly with the BBQ oysters. So different and so delicious. A jewel of a restaurant.

This is the best experience of a gourmet tasting restaurant I have ever had. The chef was with us the whole evening, explaining and sharing his experiences and thoughts. The food is AMAZING, and extremely well balanced and tasty. Also, the price-quality is astonishing! I recommend this place as 12/10!

One of the most memorable meals I've had - Chef Stefano made equally delicious and beautiful bites as part of the Venetian 9-course tasting menu. He and his staff were so gracious and welcoming, and we loved to hear the description of each plate as it was presented to us. The food was outstanding and creative. Highly recommend!

The tasting menu at this restaurant is a truly unique experience - rewarding, and at times challenging. In the best way!! Chef Stefano is pushing boundaries and experimenting in the true spirit of innovation. We did the “extremis” tasting menu (8 courses plus extras)…. Highlights (look for these on the regular menu as well if you opt not to do tasting): “BBQ” risotto - imagine a risotto infused with smokiness of the grill, finished with a bright lemon zest. If you’re having trouble I don’t blame you, it’s pretty unique. But you must taste it! Grilled branzino with vegetables - PERFECTLY cooked and seasoned. One of the best bites ever. Beef tartare with asparagus and eggs - the quality of meat in Italy is just stellar and makes dishes like this superb. For those who want challenges: tomato sorbetto - when you eat this you may get confused. Actually it might’ve have been a special creation for the “extremis” course. It’s like gazpacho ice cream. The texture is amazingly smooth, you can cut thin slices with a spoon and it holds its form. BBQ pomodoro - the BBQ is a bit forward in this dish compared to the risotto, the addition of sun dried tomatoes is a nice garnish. We felt oddly compelled to keep eating it though :) All in all, chef stefano and all the team at this restaurant deserve your support! You’re not going to find traditional classics here but if you are in the mood for pushing the boundaries give it a try.

We enjoyed our gastronomic experience of contemporary interpretation of traditional venetian cuisine last night by Chef Stefano Mocellin at Padovanino. You have the option of 2 types of dégustation menu as well as alla carte, and he uses a bit of Japanese techniques in his cooking. 😍 #HighlyRecommended

Excellent innovative food by a passionate chef. The flavours, drawing from the chef's travels, are well judged. I enjoyed the bao with ceviche a lot. Lots of surprises in the menu - the apple dessert was delightful in taste and presentation.

We sort of just happened upon this place and honestly made a reservation without even looking at the menu. But man, am I happy we did. It was a really special (and unexpectedly great) meal! We had the Milan prix fixe menu, which featured a savory take on a crème brûlée using Parmegiano Reggiano among other unique and enticing dishes. We also got to talk to the chef/owner, Stefano, who was incredibly nice and so clearly exuded pure passion regarding his food.
