So I REALLY wanted to enjoy this place. Took my fiancé here for his birthday. I was disappointed. Not sure if I would return again. We love frequenting the same restaurants if it's good - no matter the cost. But not this one. I'm really sorry and wish that our first visit was better.
I will review three sections thoroughly.
Service: Service was top notch. Everyone was pleasant, kind, attentive, informative, and nicely dressed. Each person had a job, knew it, and did it well. They worked well as a team.
Outside: The establishment has available space outdoors for guests to enjoy their meal, have a lake view, quiet/romantic time under a beautiful tree, and even have an event. Simply beautiful.
Ambiance: The restaurant is nice and clean. The decor is nice. I can see why people decide to have an event here. This establishment is good for engagement celebrations, mature birthday celebrations, classy events, and even weddings/wedding celebrations. But it was so hot. Not sure if the AC wasn't working but it was to hot. Then, the ceiling was leaking on our table and no one did anything about it. No one! We told two people and one person said "maybe they'll fix it."
Ambiance/Environment Con: There is an "old/vintage" smell in the restaurant that I couldn't shake. I tried. It just smelled like an old thrift/vintage shop. Like grandma's garage or attic. It was weird.
Food: Where do I begin. No flavor at all. Now I understand that one may want to be mindful of sodium intake, etc., but a little seasoning will make a huge difference.
Caesar Salad: Flavor was good. Very tasty. But I don't like hot salad.
The famous fantail shrimp...very pretty & lightly battered: no seasoning, bland. Only ate one.
She crab soup...just call it thick soup broth. It was about a teaspoon of crab (about three tiny pieces). More crab meat please. The flavor was on point, but very little crab.
Twice baked potato: bland. Try adding a little seasoning and chives or green onions. Maybe a side of sour cream.
Asparagus: Delicious!
Seafood Platter: Identical to the shrimp. Very pretty. Very bland. Fresh. No seasoning.
