I wasn’t the biggest fan of this place’s food. I will say, from start to finish, the service was great. The valet opened the door for us and the staff was very welcoming. They were very informative about the menu and checked on us multiple times to refill our water and make sure we had everything we needed. The food itself was beautifully presented and very fancy-looking, but the taste just wasn’t there for me. I ordered the seafood pasta, which I get often at other restaurants. The waitress did mention it was a fish-based sauce, but it ended up being super fishy. Some people may enjoy that, but it wasn’t for me. The lamb lollipops also had very little flavor, though the sauce on the side was pretty good. The restaurant itself was very nice and intimate. I will say the scallop casino was actually delicious, but the portion size was very small for the price. Overall, some people may love this place, but it’s just not for me. It feels like one of those spots that’s expensive and fancy but doesn’t match the price when it comes to taste

Service definitely great. A waitress opened main entrance and led me to the hostess desk. They immediately confirmed my reservation and read that I had requested for a window seat, which I got. The server was very friendly, immediately asked if I’ve tried their popular shrimp dish whether as appetizer or entree. They had tiny dehydrated toast like the primo ones available in Asian stores. They also served bread although not soft/pillowy warm. It was dry and semi hard. Would have been better not serving bread and serve amuse bouche of their popular shrimps, just a suggestion! I ordered the octopus and fillet mignon with side of broccolini. The octopus was crispy on the outside but very tender on the inside. The octopus tentacle was a decent portion, loved it. The filet mignon came as I ordered: medium well with slight pink. Their house made steak sauce is good, pairs wonderfully with the steak. The broccolini was slightly overcooked, not as crispy to the bite as I had hoped.

We had reservations at 7:30 and arrived about 20 minutes early. They still seated us promptly. We had to remind the hostess that we requested the patio but that was no problem. The patio was beautifully lit. Our table had a fire pit in the middle so even tho I was in a dress, I was still warm. It took a while for our drink orders to be taken but our waiter had a large and talkative party close to our table. I believe it was the manager that stayed outside on the patio. Checking on tables, helping when needed. She even took a picture for a cute couple, which I thought was sweet. I ordered sangria which was tasty, my boyfriend had a coffee and said it was the best coffee he has ever had. We are going to inquire about purchasing some, if possible. The place is rustic and still has an old time feel. I really appreciated how the staff was dressed very professional. The vibe is very classy but not snobby. There were people in flannels to very nice evening gowns. We didn't get the impression that anyone was judgy. The crab cake was phenomenal. No filing. Get the Steiny sauce with it! The twice baked potato was also full of flavor. My boyfriend had the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. It melted in your mouth and the flavor was on point. We had the scallop casino for an appetizer and he had the she crab soup. The soup was full of meat and thick. It was good. The sauce complimented the seafood perfectly for the casino. The prices are higher than many places but you definitely pay for the quality and experience here. It is obvious through the presentation and flavor that things are cooked to order, fresh and not frozen. The atmosphere, staff and food made our date night one to remember. The only thing I would change is to have more than one bathroom on the first floor. It was very clean though. We'd like to go back during the day so we can enjoy the view of the water. Highly recommend.

An Unforgettable Dinner at Steinhilber’s – Exceptional from Start to Finish My husband and I recently dined at Steinhilber’s Restaurant, and from the first sip of our cocktails to the last bite of dessert, everything about our evening was absolutely wonderful. The setting is timeless and elegant, nestled in a quiet, scenic spot that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a well-kept secret. It’s the kind of place that makes an ordinary night feel like a special occasion. We started with drinks – I had a pomegranate martini that was both vibrant and perfectly balanced, and my husband enjoyed a refreshing pineapple Moscow mule that had just the right kick. For dinner, I chose the fried red snapper served with mashed potatoes and broccolini, and I can honestly say it was one of the best seafood dishes I’ve had in a long time. The fish was delicately crisp on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside, and the sides complemented it beautifully. My husband ordered a steak cooked medium rare with roasted potatoes and sautéed spinach, and it was flawless – juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. We finished the meal with dessert – a warm, comforting apple pie that felt like fall in every bite. I also took home the chocolate lava cake, which didn’t last long once we got home! It was rich, gooey, and totally worth the indulgence. The service throughout the evening was attentive and friendly, and the pacing of the meal allowed us to really enjoy each course without ever feeling rushed. Steinhilber’s is more than just a restaurant – it’s an experience, and one we’ll be happily returning to. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just want an unforgettable meal, this place delivers. Five stars, without question. 😊Will be back for my birthday in a few weeks 😁

Steinhilber’s is tucked away at the back of a neighborhood on the Lynnhaven Inlet. The setting is charming, and the restaurant looks like a converted historic home, which gave us high hopes for a special evening. We had a 6 p.m. reservation for a birthday celebration. When we arrived, it was lightly raining and getting dark. The gravel parking lot had several uneven spots and potholes, which was a bit surprising for a place that appears to offer upscale dining. Inside, the host was kind and made note of our celebration, seating us by the window, which we appreciated. The dining area is quaint but very compact, and there’s only one small bathroom that could use a refresh. Our server was friendly and professional, though the pacing of the meal was quite slow. We arrived at six and didn’t finish until around nine. The lamb lollipop appetizer was beautifully presented with a flavorful dipping sauce, small cheese balls, and sweet peppers. The texture of the lamb was a bit unexpected, but it was tasty overall. For entrées, we shared because the portions are large, but we were surprised that sides were not included. My daughter ordered the Beef Wellington, which was very hot but not her favorite. I had the filet, which was tender and well-seasoned but arrived only lukewarm and with minimal presentation. The pear martini was excellent, and although my wine order got mixed up, our waiter was clearly handling multiple large tables and did his best. Overall, Steinhilber’s has potential with its waterfront charm and history, but the experience didn’t quite live up to the expectation. The service was kind, but between the parking, the pacing, and the presentation, it fell short of what we hoped for.

We were celebrating our anniversary and we loved it! The service was amazing. The staff was helpful and polite and the food was delicious!! I had the NY strip steak with mashed potatoes and broccolini. My husband had Paella. We also had the oysters Rockefeller. Everything was awesome. The steak was $49 and the sides were $8. Paella was $39 for price reference.

Asked a local where to go for dinner and they said without hesitation Steinhilber’s. Said its off the beaten oath, and the end of the road after driving through a housing neighborhood. It’s like eating at someone’s house. They recommended getting a table in the Garden Room since it has windows on 3 sides and has good views. (Also said the fireplace room is also nice but better when it’s cooler out to enjoy the fire). Got a reservation for 2 in the Garden Room. Sure enough, drove through a neighborhood and at the end of the street was the restaurant. Told the hostess we had a reservation and gave her our name. We were escorted to a room and seated. It was extremely crowded. Not in the number of people (there were empty tables) but in how the tables were positioned and guests seated. Tables of 4 were turned on edge and lined up in a single file. There was no way to even pull my chair out without hitting the lady at the table next to ours. We could have easily=y reached across and grabbed anything on their table from ours. Way too crowded. Then I looked around. There weren’t 3 sides of windows, there was a big fireplace. We were seated in the wrong room. Hmmmm. Asked someone if this was the Garden Room and was told no it wasnt. Explained that we made a reservation for the Garden Room. She took us to the garden room where the tables were nicely spaced and lone a behold the only vacant table was a table for 2….OUR TABLE!!!!! Once seated we waited and waited. We had menus from being seated in the other room but no water, no waitress. Waited longer. She finally came by. Brought us water and then things went more smoothly. Known for their fried shrimp with signature sauce I ordered that. My husband got the daily catch which was halibut pan seared and served with spinach vegetable sauce and wild rice. Bread is available with your meal but you must ask for it. The food was very good. The twice baked potato that accompanied the shrimp was delicious. The restaurant serves homemade desserts. Many were tempting. Had the Old Fashioned Apple Pie with vanilla ice cream. It came as a small individual apple pie. Perfect for 2 to share. warm. Flakey crust dusted with sugar and cinnamon and juicy apples inside. Yum.

Google
Everything about this restaurant is amazing. The service is top-tier and the food is so scrumptious. I’m really picky about paella and this may be the best paella I’ve had in the United States. The grilled octopus was delicious too! The restaurant is nestled in the most beautiful area surrounded by greenery. Just a very beautiful experience. We will be back!

Yelp
This was a really classy place to dine with a group. First of all, the service and staff are outstanding. They are attentive, professional, and really treat you well. I loved the classic uniforms and the way they do their service. The food was really good, everyone at our large party got something they loved except for one person. The stars were the Lobster Thermidor, oysters Rockefeller, and octopus appetizer. The lobster was large half shell stuffed with decadent pieces of lobster dressed in a cheesy cream sauce. The oysters, while were creamy, hit a nice balance of salty and sweet, and spiced well. The octopus was clean, tender, and delicious. The only failure was the Chicken piccata, in which the diner felt the fat to acid ratio was way off and made the dish entirely too unpleasant to eat. I would definitely recommend this place for a great meal with an excellence dining experience.

Yelp
This place has been a top quality restaurant for the past 80 years! While other establishments have come and gone, for whatever reasons, Steiny's has maintained a reputation at the very top of fine dining and excellent service. Our most recent visit far exceeded our expectations. The waitstaff and management team are working seamlessly to provide the very best possible quality for foods and services. The Pear Martini was refreshing and delicious. we shared a fantail shrimp appetizer with a delicious dipping sauce. My entree was salmon served atop a bed of creamed spinach and wild rice. Dessert was whipped key lime pie (best I have ever eaten). Having said all of that, the meals are not priced to compare with any typical or ordinary food experiences. * A special comment about our server, M.J. * She was attentive, polite, professional, witty, and friendly, while describing several options for our meal. By the end of the meal, we felt as if we had been treated to a truly extraordinary evening. We visit on special occasions. Tonight was our 27th anniversary and we are looking forward to the next birthday, anniversary, or any other occasions to celebrate here !

Yelp
Once in a while a good dinner with a view of the water sets calming night. Topped off with attentive and friednly service. Had the raw oysters, prime rib, Fisherman's platter, and lobster (to go). Raw ouster were nice, fresh, and just the right size. Love the house made horse radish that also went well with the prime rib. Fishermans platter became a to go as well. Served with a good portion of deep fried fish, butterfly shrimp, scallops, onions rings, calamari, hush puppies, and clams with house made dipping sauce. Worth the drive for a real good dinner.

Yelp
I've heard nothing but great things about Steinhilber's so I couldn't wait to try them out for a friend's birthday dinner. Steinhilber's is a beautifully quaint restaurant hidden in a neighborhood near Town Center. The exterior landscape of the restaurant was absolutely stunning at night and the outdoor seating included fire pits to keep you warm. We made reservations for 5:45pm on a Sunday and the table was ready upon arrival. The servers were very informative of the menu and provided the specials for the evening which all sounded great. We were also served complimentary bread which was warm and tasty. Our food was served fairly quickly. I decided on the Crab Cake with Twice-Baked Potato and it was absolutely amazing. The Crab Cake was a great size and full of fresh crab meat. The Twice-Baked Potato was also very good but I did have to add some salt. I tasted my friend's Filet Mignon and it was divine, especially with their homemade sauce. The restaurant manager, Kelly, came by to check on us, which I really admired. She was awesome and welcomed me to the restaurant. I wish I could give 10 stars for my experience! Everything about this restaurant was amazing and I can't wait to return.

Yelp
Obsessed! I absolutely loved my experience here! The service was amazing and it truly was fine dining. The food is great! I ordered the seafood paella and the serving was huge! We also ordered the Beef Wellington and it was so tender. The only issue with it is we felt like the dough/pastry was definitely undercooked, it was very doughy. The creme brulee and tiramisu dessert were spectacular. I will definitely be returning! The location was amazing and the outdoor area was perfect for a night out!

Yelp
I think this is gonna be my new favorite spot! It was a Friday night and boy was it busy apparently, it's everybody's favorite spot. They had a party booked the dining room was full, but as always, the service was great. I had to come back the pumpkin martini was calling my name so of course I stopped to get a pumpkin martini and I had to get a dessert. Because as we know, dessert pairs well with a cocktail. Pumpkin martini is made to perfection so good I had two with a piece of their chocolate cake. Oh yes, I will be coming back. They're still things on the menu that I need to tackle.

Yelp
Steinhilber's is located in a beautiful, peaceful setting. We sat by the window, gazing at a beautiful garden and stretch of lawn all the way to a waterway with boats sparsely docked. It's really a perfect setting for any kind of celebration or an intimate dinner. Ours was a tale of two meals: one spectacular the other disappointing. I had the whole fish of red snapper, which was spectacularly presented. The large portion of fish was fresh, tender, and wonderfully flavored. The flavors did not overwhelm the seafood. The sides of broccolini and roasted potatoes were perfect. Also, the portions were surprisingly generous. On the other hand, let's talk about the filet mignon. We had come to expect a high-level of quality and expertise at Steinhilber's based on many reviews. But this piece of filet mignon did not live up to that expectation. A great filet mignon should be slightly charred on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. This medium rare steak was grey on on the inside and lacked any juiciness and flavor , and the outside was undistinguished. It definitely was not a great quality of steak. We've had much better filet mignon at "lesser"restaurants. The dipping sauce for the steak was really too bitter to be of any use: it didn't add anything and overwhelmed the steak. We would've returned it, but it was awkward during a celebration. We won't make that mistake again. The twice baked potatoes were very dry and the seasoning was weak. The brussels sprouts looked beautiful on the plate, but they weren't crispy - in fact, they were a bit rubbery. And again, the seasoning was disappointing. The service was always professional if a bit remote. Again, with the beautiful setting and the great reputation we may come back at some point in the future and give it another chance. Since one of our meals was excellent I have some hope that our next visit will be better.

Yelp
We came back with family due to their amazing patio seating. I love eating outside here. You feel like you're in a little garden oasis. We had a yummy dinner this time. We got seafood which was delicious and cooked to perfection! I tried the daily catch which was salmon with a delicious rice base. Their mashed potatoes were also delicious. Service was good!

Yelp
We have come here several times for a team dinner. Excellent service every time! We end up having our event downstairs, which is nice and keeps it private with our own set of servers and bartenders. The food is really good and we typically have just about every appetizer available on tables pre-dinner while we enjoy cocktails, wine and beer and then choose entrees from the menu. I have always had an amazing meal here! We come here a lot because our team is over 30 people and there's only so many restaurants that can accommodate such a large party...! Luckily this place can not only accommodate, but do an amazing job with amazing service and culinary acumen as well!

Yelp
Came here for a birthday dinner - a very nice cozy place. Staff were extremely professional and helpful. The pear martini was delicious, but tad too tart, and the maple old fashioned- a bit too sweet. We had their famous fried shrimp - very juicy and perfectly cooked. My lobster ravioli was good, but over salted, and my husband's Wellington could've used another minute or so in the oven. The lava cake was amazing though. Overall - a nice experience and will recommend to maybe go in spring/summer to enjoying the outdoor seating with a river view.

Yelp
When in town visiting my son and his family, my husband and I had a "free night" for "date night". We decided to try Steinhilber's since it was very close to my son's house and we had given my son and daughter-in-law a gift certificate for there 2 years ago and they still raves about it. We didn't have a reservation, but they had room for us. The portions were large and the preparation was very good. There was a good choice of menu items. I have since ordered another gift card for my son and daughter-in-law, so they can enjoy a night out. The setting for the restaurant is nice, on a waterway. It's tucked in the back of a neighborhood and the garden like setting is beautiful.

Yelp
It's been well over 2years since my last visit. Started with the she crab soup and it was on the yellow side but tasted fine. For dinner I had the NY strip and hubby had the filet. The steaks were made well.
google avatar

Darius M.

Yelp
I've been coming to this location for years and I will say this pound for pound you get the biggest bang for your buck here. Compared to some of the other fine dining establishments in the area this place doesn't feel like you're getting robbed. You have a nice balance of steak seafood and other dishes. It's most recent visit I had the paella and the seafood combo broiled. I've gotten it fried and years ago they used to include a crab cake with it but menus change. The paella was flavorful. I was taken a back by the flavor. The seafood combo consisted of flounder, calamari, shrimp and scallops. I left nothing on my plate. Setting was very romantic and the service was outstanding. The way staff was very attentive and they made sure we didn't want or need for anything. I always enjoy myself when I come here and I plan to continue to do so.

Yelp
Making the annual trip to the OBX and staid in VA BEACH over night. The wife and I stay at the Westin in town center and she fell asleep by 7pm. Called the ex wife (whos my 2nd best friend[behind the new wife] and we caught up over some of the best fish, wine, key lie pie and cream bruley I've ever had. We came to Steiners 27 years ago on a date and it was a blast from the past to catch up with her. She is happily remarried to the new love of her life just like me and it's amazing that we can catch up like old friends again. Steinholders brings people together and I'll always cherish this memories...good things come to an end so better can come to the future! Thanks steins!

Yelp
Idk why no has ever recommended this place to me, I loved it! The atmosphere was awesome. We sat outside next to a beautiful garden and river, perfect date night ambiance. The service was great, everyone was very nice and professional. I had a manhattan, the whole fish, and a pecan pie. My wife had a ribeye and my daughter had a NY strip. The drink was good, not too strong. The fish was amazing and the steak was on par if not better than Aberdeen and Cork and Bull which were two of our previous favorite steak spots. The Pecan pie is my favorite pecan pie ever. My wife's crème brule was ok and my daughters lava cake was less than ok. All in all this place is awesome, 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
After previous experience,we decided to come back after almost 2, years for another birthday in family. Night started with a fly in a whiskey forgetting ,bread basket again and inattentive service. Food itself was good, fried shrimp appetizer was great, with a little underwhelming sauce. Special of the night was halibut,it was cooked with the respect, moist and tender, but unsalted. After all flaws, they didn't taken off whiskey from the bill, didn't offer any small desert for birthday and seemed like not interested in our dinner experience. I added 1 star for not bad food and pretty nostalgic ambiance, but I don't think they deserve my business anytime soon.

Sharon M.

Yelp
The food was amazing. I got the fried oysters and they were delicious. Also had the crab cake....chefs kiss. Service was very nice. The fried oysters were not on the menu, but asked if they could offer them fried. The chef said, of course. The setting was beautiful too. White tablecloths with a view. This is our favorite seafood and more restaurant.

Yelp
I haven't been in a while. I've heard mixed reviews from friends that have been. I will say the food was good as I remembered. Great service as well.

Yelp
We had heard great things, but overall felt the meal was kind of meh for the price. The service was good, but it was a hike for us from Western Branch so I doubt we'd make the trip back.

Yelp
first of all, this place made me a halibut fan. but more importantly, Connor is the best dang bus boy I've ever seen! he was so polite and welcomed us at the door with open arms! he kept the water flowing and the serotonin producing :) the setting is gorgeous and we loved the large garden and the water

Yelp
We came during Valentine's week with a reservation. Upon entry, the hostess kind of stared at us and didn't say a word. One of the servers then asked if it was just two of us and we mentioned we had a reservation. Then the hostess looked around to figure out where to sit us... very awkward. Our servers were wonderful, though! They were very prompt and polite. There is a very distinct smell inside that I just could not shake. I'm not sure what it smelled like but it turned me off the longer we were there. It was sort of mildew mixed with cured meat. Yea, not too appetizing. The lobster thermidor was delicious and the short rib was just ok. Not too much to speak on regarding the food, I did expect much better. The outside is beautiful!! Multiple seating options including overlooking the Bay or near the fire pits. I doubt we'll be back unless someone invites us for a special occasion. So sad, I really wanted to like it.
google avatar

Xavier W.

Yelp
The food was was really amazing and the whole place was super nice even for it being cold and windy. The only thing I would say is it seemed like the other waiter knew more about what was going on than ours did like the sides and specials for the day but other than that it was great.
google avatar

Melissa T.

Yelp
The service here was absolutely amazing! And if I were just reviewing it on that it would be 5 stars! Plus the ambiance!! The food was the let down, especially for the price you pay. I am not new to octopus. I grew up spending summers in Spain with my mom's family and eat pulpul seco (dried octopus) and other variety too. The last piece was by far way too chewy that I couldn't bare to continue eating it. And then my seasfood pasta, tasted absolutely fishy. All I could taste in the dish was overly powering seafood aftertaste. And sadly it actually made me sick that same night. So to spend over $300 for my birthday, this of course includes appetizer, drinks, dinner, and a dessert, and to not enjoy the meal and get sick, was such a bummer. I don't think we will give it a second try because the cost out ways the possibility of it not being good again.

Yelp
Top tier! Everything surpassed my expectations, from the beyond-exceptional service to the warm, relaxing, and peaceful atmosphere. The fire pit area outside was terrific; even in December, it was relaxing on a lovely winter evening. We all had seafood dishes, and everything came out to perfection. Unfortunately, I did not take pictures.

Yelp
Great food, service but dining room too small with tables too close together. Felt a little rushed at the end of dinner

Yelp
Came here for dinner recently and had an OK experience. First, the parking lot was pretty massive so it was easy to find a spot. We had a reservation so we walked in and were immediately seated - we had our choice of sitting indoors or outdoors, but decided on outdoors since the weather was quite nice. Unfortunately we didn't predict that the sun would be shining in our eyes throughout the meal, but I can't really expect Steinhilber's to control the weather :) Our server did a pretty good job throughout the meal, but he did mix up a couple of our sides, and that took a while to fix. I ordered the crab cake for myself, and it was pretty tasty, but kind of expensive at $39 (especially since it didn't come up with a side!). The beer selection wasn't bad but I do wish they had more options on draft. Overall, it wasn't bad, but given the price point, I would probably choose to go to another restaurant next time for a group dinner. For a romantic date with my wife, this place may actually hit the spot a little better.

Emily S.

Yelp
I wish I could give more than 5 stars because this place was top notch. The food, service and ambiance were outstanding, start to finish. I had the short rib and pecan pie, both were absolutely fabulous. We sat outside at the fire pit with drinks after dinner. The garden is private, quiet and relaxing. Highly recommended!

Leslie L.

Yelp
Okay, not from the area but was taken here. I will say I'm very particular. But I don't think anyone enjoys eating with an excess of flies. And there were little gnats all over the table. At that point I chose to limit my ordering. I have a very strong sense of smell and I thought I smelled the facilities or maybe someone ordered something that was pungent. It was a turn off. Again, I'm super super picky because those around me seemed to be having a good time. I've had a cleaner, tastier and more vibrant experience (staff seemed unhappy or uneasy/apprehensive ... who knows) at a smaller fine dining establishment in the suburbs of Philly, DC or Baltimore. But this place works for the area so keep doing what you're doing.

Yelp
Amazing service. Everyone was so nice and attentive. Dim lights make for a romantic experience. Absolutely recommend the shrimp, oysters Rockefeller, and lobster thermidor

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful place, but you must eat outside on patio or at their firepit tables during warmer weather. Wait staff is very attentive. Food is prepared to perfection and tastes wonderful. We go here from time to time just for a romantic dinner date. Recently, we had their fried shrimp, crab cake balls, she crab soup, fried red snapper, paella, and creme brulee that had toasted marshmello that was so good. Warning...paella has fish in it. Menu describes only the shellfish, not the fish within the rice. That was a disappointment for me being I only eat shellfish and not fish, but I saved it for my family to enjoy. It looked and smelled wonderful, however. Will definitely return and next time, I'll ask if they are able to withholding the fish so that I may try it again. I want to thank the wonderful staff and chefs that made the dinner wonderful.

Yelp
Anyone rating this poorly is a moron..Best service and food. The property is beautiful.

Yelp
All i can say is this place is top notch, the wife's favorite place. We dont know which is better, the incredible food or the outstanding service we got from Kiki and Melanie, they worked together like a very well oiled machine. The ambiance is spectacular, beautiful view of the water, you cant go wrong with this gem of a restaurant. Thanks for making my wife's birthday very special.

Yelp
I had set a reservation at 8 pm. We arrived 10 minutes early. I observed only 1 dining room was being utilized and the other across the hall was empty. For a reservation that was made and receiving a confirmation via text, I expected the table already available waiting for us and not the opposite of where we are waiting for the table. Given the restaurant seems to be at full capacity, at least the one dining room at the entrance, expectation of a reservation should still be available. While waiting as the time for the reservation of 8 pm approaching, we were not checked on. This gives me a sense that our reservation at 8 pm would not happen promptly. Therefore, we just left. This was a very bad first impression.

Yelp
My first experience last night was less than mediocre. My New York strip was over cooked twice first time well done second medium well, when I asked for medium rare. Not to mention steak was completely unsalted or seasoned served with what tasted like A1 steak sauce? Second the "lobster ravioli was basically a grilled ravioli soup with no roux in the sauce just looked like seafood broth mixed with tomato paste. Your lamb lollipops are a misleading app as well we expected pistachio crusted lamb rack and were served a meatball on a bone. Ube pure was not one bit tasteful. Seems like you guys just focus on cocktails to numb the senses enough to hide this half assed kitchen. I can tell by the food you have "workers" on the grill and not one chef back there that's passionate about serving quality food... the Wait staff however was very attentive and accommodating but I'll never be back for a dinner service you guys dropped the ball big time on this one. $226 down the drain.

Yelp
The ambiance is great. The service was great. But everything else was pretty mediocre sadly. We had the catch of the day, which was halibut. And the presentation was beautiful and it would have been 9/10 for sure, but the fish was overcooked. The twice baked potato came out barely warm. The fried shrimp started was the best part of the meal for sure. Wish we would have skipped dessert. The crème brûlée was trying too hard with all the extra stuff on the plate, and was enough to feed 8 people. If we'd been warned about the size we would have only ordered one dessert. It was not worth the $200 (2 adults, 1 young child)

Yelp
7/27/23 So I REALLY wanted to enjoy this place. Took my fiancé here for his birthday. I was disappointed. Not sure if I would return again. We love frequenting the same restaurants if it's good - no matter the cost. But not this one. I'm really sorry and wish that our first visit was better. I will review three sections thoroughly. Service: Service was top notch. Everyone was pleasant, kind, attentive, informative, and nicely dressed. Each person had a job, knew it, and did it well. They worked well as a team. Outside: The establishment has available space outdoors for guests to enjoy their meal, have a lake view, quiet/romantic time under a beautiful tree, and even have an event. Simply beautiful. Ambiance: The restaurant is nice and clean. The decor is nice. I can see why people decide to have an event here. This establishment is good for engagement celebrations, mature birthday celebrations, classy events, and even weddings/wedding celebrations. But it was so hot. Not sure if the AC wasn't working but it was to hot. Then, the ceiling was leaking on our table and no one did anything about it. No one! We told two people and one person said "maybe they'll fix it." ‍ Ambiance/Environment Con: There is an "old/vintage" smell in the restaurant that I couldn't shake. I tried. It just smelled like an old thrift/vintage shop. Like grandma's garage or attic. It was weird. Food: Where do I begin. No flavor at all. Now I understand that one may want to be mindful of sodium intake, etc., but a little seasoning will make a huge difference. Caesar Salad: Flavor was good. Very tasty. But I don't like hot salad. The famous fantail shrimp...very pretty & lightly battered: no seasoning, bland. Only ate one. She crab soup...just call it thick soup broth. It was about a teaspoon of crab (about three tiny pieces). More crab meat please. The flavor was on point, but very little crab. Twice baked potato: bland. Try adding a little seasoning and chives or green onions. Maybe a side of sour cream. ‍ Asparagus: Delicious! Seafood Platter: Identical to the shrimp. Very pretty. Very bland. Fresh. No seasoning.

Yelp
Excellent place for a special date night or for any celebration. The service was amazing! We were there on a rainy day - can't wait to go back to get to experience their outdoor spaces.

Yelp
A perfect date night location! The view of the river was stunning, the food was mouth watering, the oysters were some of the best I've ever had. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. As soon as one dish was done very were clearing the table and bringing the next one on. This place is a perfect hideaway!

Yelp
Steinhilbers is the perfect place for special occasions, family get-togethers, or just spontaneous date nights. We came tonight for our anniversary and it was a wonderful night. Both the indoor and outdoor areas are gorgeous but due to weather, we had to sit inside. We were in a back room, which was quiet and quaint. Our server and the other staff members who helped were all wonderful. My husband got the Old Fashioned and said it was great. For apps, we had their famous fried shrimp and the Scallops Casino. Both were delicious. We would get both again. My entree was the short rib risotto which we both loved. My husband got the paella, which he liked but it wasn't my favorite. We skipped on dessert. Everything was great.

Yelp
The food is phenomenal, the atmosphere is cozy and casual, and the service is very, very good - even on the busy night when i went! I absolutely love this restaurant. I first tried it for my mother's 80th birthday party, and i'll be going again with my husband for our upcoming 15th wedding anniversary. Highly recommended!

Yelp
It's always a great experience at Steinhilber's. The restaurant is always well kept clean and calming. The staff is very friendly knowledgeable of the menu and they respond quickly to the needs of the customers and very patient. The food is very unique and beautiful presentation wise. But not just the presentation the flavors are so delicious and well structured to target every taste bud. I'm a seafood foodie and the menu caters to this for me. I absolutely love this restaurant there's nothing I would change about my experience and I will always come back.

Yelp
Yikes. This did not live up to the hype. Ambiance/service: We had reservations and had to wait for a table. During our meal, a busboy kept rushing us to clear our plates. I was visibly still eating with food on my fork and he was standing there. However, the wait for our food was plenty long. The tables were crammed in together as close as possible. I understand having to get as many as possible and to turn them as quickly as possible, but I felt that urgency and for a $250 dinner I don't want to feel rushed or squeezed in. Although the view was pretty, we couldn't see it over the heads in the packed in dining room. Food: My steak was overcooked. It had been a long wait in between apps and salad and the main course so I didn't send it back because that would've meant starting with a new one and it wasn't worth it. Also, I'd expect they could devein the shrimp in a $22 shrimp cocktail. They didn't. Last, and most weird, I had half my steak boxed up with their house sauce. Except that when I got home to put it in the fridge the box was open and the steak was gone. The busboy? The valet? Someone took it because the juices were in the box but no steak. One star for the wedge salad. The rest of the meal went downhill from there and was mediocre at best. Past its prime. Maybe it was an off night. But seriously, who took my steak? It was $25 of filet. I wanted that for leftovers.
