Steins Beer Garden & Restaurant

A nice sport bar in the MountainView downtown. Very spacious bar with indoor and outdoor seating. The service is very good. They have some nice collection of beers on tap. Thought they keep changing beers, we found some good ones. The food was average and served quickly. The atmosphere is good. They also allow kids which makes it good for families.

The kids menu chicken strips were the stand out favorite! The shrimp ceviche was delicious, but should have come with either more fish in it, or include a side of guacamole to balance the huge pile of chips. The pork schnitzel was overcooked and dry, despite my high hopes. The large German pretzel did not have the right pretzel soft and chewy balance, and really needed some pretzel salt on it. Beer flights were well picked into light, dark, and it's flights.

One of the places we regularly go to in Mountain View. Pretty sure this spot was a Chinese Restaurant when I was a kid. As always, the taplist is great. Craftbeer put this spot on the map, and now looks like the food is holding up well too.

Great sports bar with inside and outside seating. Good size with good food and great service. Came with a friend and was an ideal location to sit outside in the sun for a few hours and enjoy some calamari and a burger washed down with a good beer. Compliments to the service who were all super friendly and made the place stand out. Parking couldn’t be easier with a free parking lot just across the street.

Excellent place for brunch in the outdoors. They served water to the pups too. Love the flight experience.

We came here for July 4th and there weren't many tables filled. (possibly because many other restaurants were closed) The service was friendly and patient with my uninformed beer ordering. They allowed me a small taste of the very hoppy and bitter light beer. I ended up ordering the pilsner. The dishes were served very very quickly. Shocking actually. I really liked the baked wings with the option for the sauce on the side (good way to control the heat and sugar) - 4 stars. The burger was just okay - 3 stars. So happy the air-conditioning was working on this exceptionally hot week.

Steins Beer Garden is a solid spot if you're looking for a casual place to grab a drink and a bite—especially if you're bringing your pup along! While the food itself is just okay (nothing mind-blowing, but decent for the price), the outdoor patio is where this place really shines. 🌿 The Patio – Spacious, shaded, and full of different seating options. It’s a great place to relax, especially after a walk around downtown Mountain View. 🐶 Dog-Friendly – Huge plus for me! It’s always nice to have a go-to spot where I can enjoy a drink and snack with my pup by my side. 🍻 Drinks & Casual Eats – The beer selection is solid, and while the food isn’t the best out there, it does the job—especially when paired with the laid-back, friendly atmosphere. Overall, I keep coming back more for the patio and dog-friendly setup than the food itself. That’s why I’m really excited about Brindleden, opening in 2025—a membership-based dog park with a safe, well-monitored environment (vaccine & behavior requirements), plus coffee, beer, and food. For now, Steins is a reliable choice when I want to enjoy some outdoor time with my pup.

Visited during their happy hour, good selection of beer and wine. Pretty decent deal, the place is big enough where it doesn’t feel noisy when there’s a lot of people. Good for gatherings.
