Where to Get $1 Oysters in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Enjoy $1 oysters every Tuesday (Laurier location) and Wednesday (Belanger location) in chic, modern surrounds at these Italian spots. As the name implies, the menu also features Neapolitan pizzas plus pastas, salads, and antipasti." - Erinn Blicher

COVID-19: Montreal Restaurants With Great Deals on Wine To Go | Eater Montreal

"Great Plateau pizzeria Stella has lowered its wine prices (to about a two-times markup) for takeout and delivery. Oh, and the Drappier champagne on its list? That’s out of stock at the SAQ, by the way. There’s charcuterie, gnocchi, meatballs, salads, a kids menu and even a gluten-free option for its much-loved Neapolitan-style pizza."

I had a great experience at Stella Pizzeria. Even though the salad portion was a bit small, but the taste was absolutely exceptional. The combination of warm beetroot, sweet orange peels, and feta cheese was so well balanced. The « Laurier » pizza was also a highlight: the dough was fluffy, fresh ingredients, and every bite was rich in taste. Definitely a place I’d recommend and come back to!

Really loved it there! Even though there was a wait time, it went by very fast to get a table! The food was very good. I enjoyed the burrata and my mocktail was exquisite! Did not try their pizza though, but from looking at the surrounding tables, it looks succulent. Will have to come back for that as it is their specialty😏

Nice place, pizza very good. The cocktails ne and friend had were ok but not wow. 1$ oysters were good. We had ordered an appetizer and had time to eat the whole pizza and plate taken away before the waitress came back and we told her we never received the appetizer. The waitress was kind and was able to take it off the bill, but we had wanted to try it nonetheless. The other waitress who seemed like maybe the manager seemed very stressed the whole time. Quite a loud bustling place, hard to hear my friend talk. Not sure if after this experience I would go back. We had a reservation and the restaurant seemed fully packed.

Worst pizza in a long time, cold missing taste and clearly not like the image, even the salad was bad, how can you miss a salad? No love at all, nothing on it, dry kale salad is bad, you need dressing, oils anything Delivery is worst then all combined, we see driver already there then leave and drive for 35 minutes to eventually circle back to get the order for delivery.. Surely goeva delivery is as bad as the food was. I think a 8 year old kid would of done better both in food quality and delivery on a bycicle

Disappointing Experience We had high hopes, but unfortunately our experience fell short. We waited far too long—our Margherita pizza took an hour to arrive, and while the staff were kind, service was clearly slow and possibly understaffed. We ordered two salads and the pizza; both salads were quite average, and we had to ask for bread three times before it finally came. Maybe we came at the wrong time or didn’t order the best items, but overall, I don’t quite understand the hype around this place. Regardless, waiting an hour for a simple pizza just isn’t acceptable

Delicious pizza and gnocchi, pleasant dinner atmosphere, friendly and quick service. For pizza we got the Stella (with the speck and gorgonzola) and the pizza du jour. For pasta we got the pesto ricotta gnocchi. It was all super tasty and delicious!

Google
For me the pizza is like a elegant drunk pizza. It is like a tipsy pizza. That pizza you get that is greasy, and filling. Except her the slices are thinner, still greasy, the crust is crispy from meal, the cheese and sauce are lighter than a drink pizza, and the flavor is still there. Good price as well at CAD$16 per pizza but you'll definitely need two for two people... so maybe the value is off a bit. Also the to go box is ridiculously more thick than the pizza itself. Like so much waste from just the box to hold the thin pizza. Overall, good experience and the pizza is good, just not top for me.

Google
Easily accessible pizzeria on Laurier steps away from the Laurier Metro Station. We have reserved a table and the place was packed. The atmosphere is not bad and the ambiance is very cozy. We only tried the pizza which was good. The ingredients are fresh however I did not like the dough. They have exclusively imported wine section and I tried the Portuguese which was good choice. The service definitely needs improvement.

Yelp
Tried Stella on a whim, left wondering if I've ever actually had pizza before. This spot walks the line between upscale and cozy like a damn tightrope artist - with copper tables WHICH SMELL LIKE DAMN PENNIES and that gentle buzz of Montreal cool without the snobbery (maybe actually a little bit). I went for the Mediterranean pizza--a wild, briny, beautiful mess. Rapini, olives, anchovies, sun-dried tomatoes, lemon zest... it was like someone condensed the Amalfi coast into a perfect thin crust. Salty, zesty, slightly bitter in the best way--this pie slaps if you've got the palate for bold flavors. MAMMA MIA! Deliciosso! Finocchio! Service? Sharp. Atmosphere? Grown-up but not uptight. Stella isn't trying to reinvent the pizza wheel--it's just spinning it better than most.

Yelp
The food is excellent when eating in, as is the ambiance. I only gave it three stars because for take out or delivery, the centre of the pizzas is undercooked and becomes ultra soggy. I'm hoping they'll read this and adjust. It's a lovely place and I want them to keep thriving. For eat-in, I give them five stars.

Yelp
Un endroit merveilleux pour manger avec vos amis! We walked here right off the street. We were greeted warmly at the door by the hostess and decided to take a seat. Split a bottle of wine with a friend I met in Montreal and just talked the night away. It was our first time meeting in person and I thought this setting was perfect. This is definitely a neighbourhood pizzeria. I was surprised by how busy it was, we actually got one of the last few tables. Pizza is wonderful! Ambience is great! I think this is a place that many people will not try in Montreal because it is in less of a touristy area. But it was close to my friends home and you get more of a picture of how people really live, which is always nice when traveling. :)

Yelp
Genuinely confused at the popularity of this restaurant. Pizza was so salty I could not finish a slice. The beetroot salad was five pieces of shriveled beets with feta. There is no planet in which that would be considered a salad. They paired it with a sauce similar to soy sauce which made the dish inedible. Oysters were small and undeserving of our $1. I had to relocate to another restaurant to wash the inconceivable amounts of salt out of my mouth.

Yelp
We stopped by the restaurant to pick a pizza for a picnic in the park! I ended up ordering a 4 Cheese Pizza which had Gorgonzola, Parmesan, Fior de Latte & Goat Cheese topped with some Herbal Pesto! The pizza was excellent!! We will definitely be eating here again very soon!

Yelp
A charming and cute restaurant with and open concept kitchen. There are lots of tables, high stool with table and high stools by the bar. It is on the smaller side so it made it difficult to walk around. They do have an outdoor terrace which was closed obviously for winter. They have a stand to hang your coats. Dim lights, low hanging lights, and wood furniture. I had a great time with friends there. Now for the food.... I had a wonderful zucchini soup. It was a thick, creamy soup with a dollop of cream on top. It was filling but on the smaller end of portion. I then had the Mediterranean pizza (minus anchovies). It was really good, a bit on the tangy side but delicious. I felt they could have added more sauce because I found it on the drier side. The dough was very fluffy but I could taste a dust of flour on the crust. I couldn't finish the pizza so I had it packed to go and still enjoyed it the next day. For dessert I opted for cannoli! The plate came with 2 cannoli and almond ice cream. I lovedddd the ice cream but not so much the cannoli. The filling was just to thick. If you choose to bring a cake from outside they will charge you extra per person per serving. Service was great. The servers and waitresses were very helpful and made sure our glasses were full of water. They served us well. We all had a wonderful time. Definitely going back here! Parking might be an issue in the area because it's all zoning.

Yelp
I had the beet salad with orange and it was very taste. Good flavor combination.............

Yelp
Pizza was good It's interesting to try the food from a true chef from Puglia. They uses great fresh ingredients on their pizza but unfortunately they were overcooked.

Yelp
Delicious and quick. Service was awesome. When I gave our server our list of food allergies, he smiled and said: 'Ah. Des allergies traditionalle. Pas de probleme.' For us, this is huge! We could immediately relax, knowing we were in good hands, and enjoy a wonderful meal.

So I order gluten pizza Laurier, I was not impressed at all the food is horrible and not good choice for pizza more like pizza from the store kind. But the service was good they were friendly but I was not impressed by there pizza.

Yelp
We had an excellent light supper here upon arrival in Montreal. Nice and peaceful on a November Tuesday afternoon, and my gal was observing her birthday, so really relished the pizza margarita (her personal fav/benchmark). I had a great salad special that really hit the spot after a long frosty drive. We enjoyed the street theater from the package store next door, and had a couple glasses of cava to celebrate our arrival and such. The proprieter was our server and gave us a friendly welcome to the city, as we worked out communications across our various language barriers, including the tableside card swiper and french instructions for tip etc on its display. Throughout our visit we saw people walking around the neighborhood with takeout boxes, so that is a great option as well. We sat below a poster of Lisa Leblanc and it kind of set the theme for our whole visit - an au naturel women kicking up up her heels and putting down the truth. Tres Montreal. A lovely neighborhood spot that is a true work of love - kudos to the chef and the front of house partner making it so!

Yelp
Nice music, delicate ambiance and food to match. Stella, although in its infancy is turning out to be quite a nice evening choice for couples our groups wanting that out of the place 'gourmet' experience without having to go into central Montreal or out of the plateau area. Reasonable prices and the owner/host is incredibly thoughtful and compliant. Tuna tartare I had was great, light and went perfectly with the wine I was offered. Tiramisu is adequate but needs more crunch. Wine selection is good. Personal opinion; will come back but in the evening.

Yelp
A wonderful neighbourhood pizzeria!! Coming from the United States, had to say that the Margarita Pizza was outstanding! No wait to get in, attentive waiters/waitresses. Loved the music they were playing! The house music with a beautiful disco beat made me feel good! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I gotta say - the anchovies were extremely overwhelming - not the way you want to experience anchovies, trust me. The whole pizza was ruined with dominating fishiness, which was buried under many other toppings so that you couldn't even pick them off. My advice: totally avoid anything anchovy in this restaurant. Also, the crust was burnt. And, we were rushed. I really don't think a restaurant should agree to serve a table if said table isn't going to have enough time to actually sit down and think about their order for five minutes without being pressured into making a choice. Totally unsatisfactory experience for me, and my son (who ended up with the anchovy pizza because he doesn't read French and didn't know what he was ordering). I felt like I wasted my money, unfortunately.

Yelp
This little pizza shop has great pizza. We got the 4 cheese and had sauce added to it. The only downfall is if you want to drink alcohol up cannot sit outside. I'm guessing this is a law in Montreal, but I'm not sure. I had the sangria and it was great. If you are not someone that speaks French like me, then you have nothing to worry about the staff speaks great English.

Yelp
Solid neighborhood pizzeria. My husband had the tuna tartare appetizer which he thought was excellent. My son and I tried the Margarita and Mediterranean pizzas. The crusts were excellent and the toppings well prepared though the tomato sauce was thinner than we're used to. Very good service, nice decor and excellent wine selection by the glass. One star deducted for the grating techno music.

Saki H.

Yelp
one of the best place in the area for pizza and Italian food. Try the Kale ceasar salad, you will order it again and again. The food is great and the atmospher is as good.

Louis D.

Yelp
Really not sure what all the hype is about. This place serves overpriced, flavorless, uninspired pizza in a pretentious environment. I had high hopes after reading the reviews but...ughh!! The crust is a disaster!! Over 6 days in Montreal, this was by far the worst meal I had. There are better choices throughout the neighborhood..

Louis-Philippe O.

Yelp
Great pizzeria with a warm atmosphere and very friendly staff. The cheese in the caprese salad was outstanding and the stella pizza was excellent. We definitely recommend to end the meal with the Nutella pizza! Will be coming back for sure!

Gremlins M.

Yelp
The pizza is pretty good - the ingredients seem of good quality and they are trying to be different....however, the service was not as good as it could be. It's borderline rude in my personal opinion, as during our visit they only paid attention when when tried to make ourselves noticed. The staff and owners were busy having chats with their friends at the bar, rather than being attentive to their clients. I personally wouldn't go back, as service is equally important to the food. If the service could be improved, it would be a great little place in the neighborhood.

Yelp
My partner and I stayed at an airbnb quite close to Stella Pizzeria. After several active days and nights out, we were ready for a low key evening. We figured the neighborhood pizza place would be fine and easy. We were right about easy but it was so much better than fine. Really nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food. The tuna tartare was one of among my favorite dishes of the trip and the pizza was really tasty. This place was just as satisfying as the restaurants we specifically sought out based on excellent reviews, minus the lines and the crowds. We left very happy.

Yelp
lovely neighborhood pizza , pasta and other specialties. very fresh and flavorful. full bar and nice wine list. highly recommend for casual lunch or dinner.
