Stella Restaurant and Bar

Dined at Stella, the food was amazing. Had the spanner crab pasta and the prosciutto pizza and a few other things. They were all cooked to perfection. Matthew looked after our table and made sure we are having a good experience. Daniel as well looked after our table and made sure we got everything we needed through the night. Thank you Matthew and Daniel for looking after us and making our dining experience at Stella well worth it. Will definitely be coming back and recommend to mates.

Can’t complain on anything about this pretty spot in the middle of chapel st. Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff, and delicious food for a great experience even in more than 10 people group! Pizzas were amazing, pastas very good, steak cooked to perfection (be aware side isn’t included with it) and my favorite was the tiramisu (although haven’t had the chance to try their cheesecake…). Went here for an office lunch and literally everyone enjoyed and had great time! I ll be back for sure to try more off their menu, and perhaps a cocktail in their rooftop! Highly recommended!

If I could give Stella Restaurant more than five stars, I absolutely would. From the moment we stepped inside, we were wrapped in an atmosphere 3 levels of effortless elegance, where every detail – from the lighting to the service – was carefully curated to create a truly unforgettable dining experience. Now let’s talk food – because wow. The prawn pizza? An absolute revelation. Juicy, perfectly cooked prawns layered over a crisp, golden base with just the right kick of flavor. It’s not just pizza – it’s an art form. Then came the caviar martini, and I swear I heard angels sing. It’s not just a drink – it’s an experience. Salty, smooth, and luxuriously indulgent – this cocktail alone is worth the visit!!!! And just when I thought the night had peaked, the steak arrived. Cooked to absolute perfection, buttery soft with a rich depth of flavor that made me want to weep with joy. It was honestly that good. But wait – there’s more. The vodka pasta was the stuff of dreams. Creamy, silky, and bursting with flavor – I would come back again and again just for this dish alone. The showstopper? The steak tartare. Hands down, the most delicious I’ve had in my life. Fresh, finely balanced, and paired with crisp, delicate crackers that added just the right crunch – it was perfection on a plate. Stella isn’t just a restaurant – it’s a classy destination. A place where every bite is romance, and every moment is sprinkled with a touch of magic. If you’re in South Yarra and looking for a dining experience that will dazzle your taste buds and leave you dreaming about it for days, run – don’t walk – to Stella.

Ambience and atmosphere is really inviting. The food was mostly top notch (although - a bit of misleading advertising: the menu has potato fries and as you can see these are far from fries they are thick chips - wouldn't have bothered otherwise as they were pretty average). The drinks really nice and well presented. Our server was Raimundo and he was super friendly and sweet.

Afternoon drinks at the popular rooftop bar was rescued from the rain by the roof closing just in time. Returning later for dinner was the best choice. Yummy original cocktails to start. Steak tartare to share was refined and delicious. Pappardelle with beef ragu was melt in the mouth. Pasta special of the day was gnocchi with mushrooms, a soft cheese and other wonderful flavours. Can’t recall the verbal description but can recall I could enjoy this magnificent dish on a regular basis. A tiramisu and an affogato were both perfect, rounding out the meal and evening with style. Friendly, warm, chatty hosts provided great service. Highly recommended.

I had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant, and I have to say, Amelie, our waitress, made it an unforgettable experience. From the moment we sat down, she greeted us with a warm smile and expertly guided us through the menu. She was incredibly knowledgeable about each dish, explaining what was popular and what was particularly delicious. Her suggestions were spot-on! Amelie also made sure we tried our wine before serving it, which added such a thoughtful touch. Throughout the meal, she kept checking on us, ensuring we were well taken care of and that everything was to our liking. Her attention to detail and personable nature truly enhanced our experience. I highly recommend trying this place, especially if you have the pleasure of being served by Amelie. Her recommendations were fantastic, and she made our meal feel extra special!

Food was delicious! Spanna crab fettuccine and oil chili spaghetti (add king prawns)(first one on pasta section) was phenomenal. Calamari was crispy and lovely sauce. Lemon tart was perfect for dessert too! Service was exceptional, very attentive and friendly. Big thank you to Raimundo for his service. Would recommend 10/10!!

Stella is a rare find! There are a lot of great venues on Chapel St so it can be hard to stand out, but Stella manages to do just that. The cocktails are sublime - we enjoyed "Closer to Heaven" and it was the perfect mix of spicy and sweet and the parmigiano tulle added texture and balance. The food was fantastic too; and the little details such as the logo in the ice cubes and the beautiful decor added to the overall experience. Definitely have to shout out the staff as well - they were friendly, had great knowledge of the food and drinks and created a welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be back and can't wait to try out the rooftop!
