Stella's has earned many awards over the years and those are proudly noted on a card kept with the menus on each table. It had been on my list of places to try for some time -- and now I was in the area at lunchtime... With expectations high, I was ready for a great meal. Sadly, my experience fell short of the mark. I like the fact that their hamburger meat is never frozen and is hand-smashed on the grill. I like that they serve them "with everything" and clearly state that means lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and mayo. So why then, are there additional charges for a long list of toppings? You have to pay extra to 'have it your way'. With hindsight, I suppose I should have ordered one of the specialty burgers. But I wanted to taste their basic burger on its own merits (I did splurge for the grilled onions; but they were scantly there). It was a good, solid burger and I enjoyed it. Nevertheless, it fell short of any "best burger" claims. Since I was born in Idaho, I was excited to see that the fries were touted as being from hand-cut, fresh Idaho potatoes. That is the gold standard for fries. Sadly, the fries were disappointing -- mostly soggy, some were somewhat blackened. Overpriced too. 3 stars at most for those fries. On the other hand, service was great while the vibe and atmosphere were super. Those factors salvaged my overall rating of 4 stars.

Stella's is always a pleasure to visit. Best fries anywhere! It is a bar and grill, but absolutely family friendly. I personally have been going here for 18 years now. If you have not been given a try today!

Google
Went out of our way to get a highly recommended burger and it was totally worth it. Burger was cooked just right, nice char and not dried out. House cut fries were fantastic as well as the onion rings. Service was EXCELLENT! Food arrived at our table quickly & the staff were friendly. Totally worth the drive and money spent.

Google
My husband and I came to Stella’s years ago. We couldn’t stop thinking of it. We had to visit it while we were in town. The burgers were cooked well, juicy, and tasted great. The fries were hand cut and fresh. I wouldn’t say they were out- of-this world. They were made fresh and the place felt homey. We would definitely come again. So good. It is a little pricey though.

Google
I had the mushroom, Swiss burger and onion rings. They make a fantastic burger. Very filling. Perfectly cooked. Got there at 6 PM. Right in the middle of dinner rush. Only had to wait 20 minutes for a table. If you are in the Omaha area, it is definitely worth stopping in. Amazed what they can do with such a small kitchen.

Wendy W.

Google
I know so many people in the Omaha area swear by this restaurant and my husband likes it, but it was just okay for me. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a seat, but you are able to wait in your own car so I didn't mind that at all. The service wasn't great- our waitress was grumpy and not pleasant to deal with. The food was just ok- no better than any other diner burger I've ever had. The do serve Red Bull, which was great!

Eli P.

Google
This place has one of the best burgers ever. The meat is flavorful. The bun is great. The toppings add to the taste. The pastrami burger is amazing. If you want a seat at lunch time it's best to arrive when they open at 1100.

Thomas J.

Google
Burgers were cooked to perfection. The sides were of wonderful portions and the service was very good. Loved the atmosphere.

Yelp
Okay wow, how have I not been here yet? The prices are such a good deal and the food isn't fancy, but if you're in the mood for a burger or some basic bar food, this is the spot. Definitely order the fried pickles - some of my favorite I've had in Omaha. It does get busy so opt for an earlier or late dinner when possible.

Yelp
Great little place, very quaint and friendly. I ordered the patty melt, which let's face it, people who order patty melts know that it's only going to come one of two ways. Either amazingly good, or dry and tasteless. Unfortunately, mine was dry and tasteless. The fries were great, the fried mushrooms were amazing , and everyone else in our party loved their burgers. I gambled and lost, but I will definitely go back and try something else. I'm still giving Stella's Bar and Grill four stars!

Yelp
Vegetarian here! Stellas is a great spot for vegetarians with a group of hungry carnivores. You can swap the patty on any of their burgers. They have an Impossible as well a Veggie patty depending what you're going for. I really like the veggie patty - it sticks together (sooo important) and tastes good without overwhelming the full burger set up. Is it probably frozen? Yes. Is it still delicious? Absolutely!!! Burgers do not come with sides so you'll order those separately. We usually get 1 side per 2 people unless we're over the top hungry. We stopped by at 4PM on a Saturday and were able to sit down right away. If you're with a larger group or during dinner time expect to wait outside or in your car until a table is ready. The place is pretty small and that helps keep it enjoyable for everyone. All the waitstaff were fantastic and very quick to turn over tables! Parking lot is available but is proportional to their seating. Rule of thumb if you can't find a spot the wait is probably longer than you want to endure.

Yelp
The staple burger is worth the hype!! It was cooked perfectly along with the waffle fries. If you like ranch - the ranch was also amazing!! Stopped here for a quick bite on a Wednesday night and was surprised by how busy it was! There was a 10-15 min wait but the staff sat us & served us quickly! Great energy, hometown favorite feel, and great priced food! Wish it was a bit bigger so they could seat more people but also the smaller sized venue adds to the appeal/vibe! Will recommend to friends & family :)

Yelp
If you want to go to dinner here definitely get there earlier then later. Stella's is amazing! Their burgers are so good. I get their sweet potato waffle fries with ranch on the side. Just typing this out makes me my mouth water. It's a very homey feel and busy. You can tell it's a good place just from how busy it gets. And all the waitresses work so hard and are all amazing at their jobs.
google avatar

Mike K.

Yelp
We have been trying to come here for awhile now. It is usually pretty busy, rightfully so, the food is awesome! Burgers, fries and onion rings are all very flavorful and not greasy.
google avatar

Ayele O.

Yelp
Stella's is a staple in Bellevue and has been for a while with good reason! The burgers are cooked to juicy perfection as the main attraction, meaning you can leave satisfied with just a plain cheeseburger or hamburger. Then, they kick it up a notch with different pairings that work to completely elevate the burgers. I don't think you can go wrong with ordering anything. The final stamp of amazing is the service. We went on Monday night, which was still busy, but the receptionist was great. We ordered and got our food within 20-30 minutes. Stella's remains the number one burger joint in the area for good reason.
google avatar

Sheila E.

Yelp
I have been going to Stella's since I was able to eat solid food, so around 68 years or so. My dad was an original Stella's patron. The menu has developed over the years. Originally it was burgers and fries. If you want to experience a hamburger that not a frozen patty and fresh cut French fries this is the place to go. Their patties are 6 oz with a variety of toppings to choose from. There is also a kids menu. They have a full service bar, just don't expect frozen drinks. The service is good, the wait staff is friendly and check your table often throughout the meal. Typical low-key bar atmosphere, but they do not stay open as late as legally allowed.
google avatar

Samantha C.

Yelp
The only flavor this burger had was battery acid. Tried this burger joint 3 times and each time i have been disappointed. There patties don't even have SALT and PEPPER. I will never return to this overhyped burger joint. I'd rather have a double cheese burger from McDonalds. And the service was absolute trash. Dirty looks and 1 question every 30 minutes is not worth paying OVER $30 dollars for.

Yelp
Known for some of the best burgers in Nebraska for a reason! The sweet potato fries were absolutely smackin' too. I love that they have sweet tea (although I had a Modelo instead). The price was also decent, it kinda surprised me that it was so worth it. At first I kinda felt like the server was a bit irritated by something, but at the same time it was just after peak lunch service on a Saturday and she seemed like a good no-bullshit bar manager, she was very quick and did her job very naturally. Surprised they still have such a small space for how popular this spot is. 4.5/5
google avatar

Julianna Z.

Yelp
Food is always great here, quick service once you get seated and affordable for eating out. I always get the Stella's staple burger and it's my favorite. This neighborhood burger joint always feels like a warm hug and hits the spot. Would recommend for a classic burger experience! PS the sweet potato fries are amazing!
google avatar

Yelp
Went here with a coworker for dinner, we sat at the bar. Definitely had a small town vibe to it. I had their veggie burger, it was pretty good! I also had some fries, half sweet potato waffle fries. I love that you can do that, why not? Generous portion and price was great! Super friendly and helpful bartender. Forgot to take pics!
google avatar

Sheri M.

Yelp
The way this burger has me daydreaming about it even now...Stella's warrants best burger consideration. The burger and fries are just tasty. Prices are right and ambience is casual and cool. Parking right outside the building.

Saleb M.

Yelp
Easily the worst burgers we've ever had. Dry and flavorless burgers. Soggy fries. Do not buy into the "hype" of this place. People only like it because they've never had any other burger or real food in their lives. We were seated across a group of people celebrating a birthday. Who on earth would choose to celebrate their birthday here?

Yelp
I finally got to take my family to try the famous Stella burgers!! It's a staple in Nebraska, so if you're ever in the Bellevue area, PUT THIS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST!!! They have daily specials and apparently secret monthly specials. We didn't notice the box of donuts until after we ordered, and guess they had a donut bun burger that was on the secret menu. Too secret so we found out too late ...lol. But y'all, the pastrami burger was outstanding!! They are pretty massive, so Hubby and I split one, then when we were deciding on either sweet potato waffle fries or onion rings, we were informed that you could get a half & half. Yassssss!!! Both were crispy and crunchy and enough of both to be satisfied. Loved it!! The kid' meals came with decent sized burgers, lots of fries and a drink. They were both half way through the burgers before they got full. Always makes me happy when they're happy. To quote my son when he saw the burger, "Let's GOOOOOO!" Haha Definitely an older building but plenty of parking. Inside is quaint, so if it gets busy, might have to wait a minute. It's a gem, and I grew up on these burgers, so y'all need to come through!!
google avatar

Jesse W.

Yelp
The burgers and onion rings are great, so is the service. The only thing that I would even slightly have a problem with and it's a preference of mine is there French fries. I prefer crispy French fries and thats not the kind they offer.
google avatar

Amy S.

Yelp
Great burgers, every option you can think of. I got jalapeño bacon and pepper jack cheese. The bacon wasn't spicy enough to tell any difference... but it was thick, crunchy and bacony! They fries are great, using real potatoes. The onion rings are good too. My family wasn't a fan of the fried mushrooms. They had a nice coating/batter but the mushrooms were slimy inside. This place is packed during regular lunch hours, but head there on an off hours OR when the Huskers are playing and you'll be seated right away!
google avatar

Thomas M.

Yelp
The food was amazing the staff were super welcoming and accommodating, the service was very fast and very helpful, the ambiance of the place is amazing the place is clean and well lit!

Yelp
I visited Stella's a little while back when my sister was visiting town, as we both love a good burger and heard great things about Stella's. Parking was easy with a big lot outside, and despite arriving on the early side for dinner, it was already quite busy. At times you may have to wait a bit for a table, so be prepared for that or call ahead for a takeout order. We were able to get seats at the bar, and the bartender was friendly. Our food came out fast, which was great. We each ordered a cheeseburger, which were really good and we got them with all the toppings that they come with. The burgers were just a good, simple, classic burger, and are a pretty good price for the size. The atmosphere is a very casual, neighborhood burger place. I believe they have outdoor seating as well, which is great for nice weather days. We really enjoyed our food and will definitely return!

Yelp
I recently made the trip to Stella's purely to attempt their infamous Stellanator challenge. While they do require a reservation for this, I called and they more than gracious to set up a time with me. When I arrived, the staffed was excited and offered me a great table, helped me get set up and explained everything to me. The restaurant was pretty quiet because it was before dinner time, but was very welcoming. The burger itself was monstrous pictures do not do it justice. But was prepared perfectly. I would definitely go back for a regular burger or anything else in the menu. Thank you Stella's

Tyler M.

Yelp
Tried Stella's while visiting from out of town and wish I could come back. It's a cute place, not a lot of seats. But whatever the wait, it is worth it. What an outstanding burger! I had the Stella's staple and I'd order it again in a heartbeat. The service was super friendly and quick. And you can't beat the price! A burger like this is usually way more. If I'm ever in the Omaha area, I will definitely be trying to stop by again. If you haven't been to Stella's, it is worth the trip!
google avatar

Castencil C.

Yelp
Stella's has been a staple go-to burger spot since we learned about it from family friends years ago. Their burgers are huge and their sides are always fresh and piping hot out of the fryer. Service has always been "stella" (dad jokes), and super fast. We never wait more than 5-10 minutes for our food. There is usually a 20-30 minute wait to get in, but it's well worth it. Seating has always been good, you either get a booth or table. It is a smaller establishment, but this appeals to us. Small, local business that has been serving great burgers for years. Check it out!
google avatar

Nika Z.

Yelp
This is such a good spot if you're looking for a burger that tastes like you've made it at home! It reminds me of grilling with my family growing up. A cute spot to try if you're in Bellevue!
google avatar

Curt M.

Yelp
Stella's rarely disappoints. It's been a family favorite for years. It's shameful that I'm only now getting around to writing a review. The burger never changes. It's juicy, but not so wet that the bun melts. The ground beef is seasoned properly and is formed to perfectly fit the always-fresh bun. It's hard for even a big mouth to navigate the double, but someday, I'm going to climb that triple. Lettuce, tomato, and onion -- brilliantly -- are placed on the bottom, so the first thing one tastes is the star of the show (the meat) embellished appropriately by the supporting ingredients. The fries are perfect, similar to Bronco's, charred intermittently, but curiously retaining just enough moisture so they don't become hard. We shared some onion rings and fried mushrooms. The rings were primo though a bit too hard, probably left in the fryer too long. Conversely, the mushrooms came out of the pool too soon. Several were cold on the inside. I got a couple of the cold ones as did my son. The appetizer missteps aside, it was another winning visit to one of our favorite local burger hangouts. A burger this iconic will not be harmed by a couple of starter stumbles. Go, Stellas's!
google avatar

Sonia M.

Yelp
I brought my son here since he had never tried it and heard some good reviews and he 100% loved it. This is definitely our new go to burger place. They have quality food with amazing flavor. My son also wants to try their burger challenge. So we will be back and I will leave a review for that and when we do it. Love the delicious burgers at an affordable price.
google avatar

Troy W.

Yelp
Got seated and service was a little slow but once our waitress realized it, she was quick to rectify the situation and was extremely apologetic and helpful throughout our meal. Burgers are fantastic. Absolutely love them. Busy place but very relaxing to enjoy a meal. Been here twice now and both times have been great. Great food. Great staff. Thank you, Stella's....hope to see you again soon

Jan K.

Yelp
We have eaten there many times. Last 2x's not good. Last time hamburgers not so great. ( both) times carry outs. This ordered mushroom burger with grilled onions. Got thick cut raw hot onions. Ordered fries. Greasy, soaked in grease fries, our what we ended up with! What happened, that was our go to burger joint more than any place. Probably won't be back for a while. Sorry! Our lunch treat turned into stomach pains.

Gus M.

Yelp
I love this place! I've been here so many times and my favorite thing is the staple burger. They always bring out the food very quickly and are very nice. They are also a sports bar which is fun to just watch a game while you're there.

Mary D.

Yelp
Wonderful burgers! Family atmosphere. Portions are generous. Wait staff is absolutely the best! My go to place for mushroom Swiss burgers and brisket burgers. The best fried pickles around. My grand daughters loved this place.
google avatar

Nancy H.

Yelp
Decided to try Stella's after hearing that it has the best burgers in the area. I went in with high expectations and left let down. I went on a Saturday evening and it was busy- so had to wait about 20 minutes to get seated and another 30 to get the food. We ordered the double cheeseburger and Swiss mushroom burger with sides of onion rings and fried pickle chips. I'm not sure if the food we got was a fluke and not representative of their normal burgers, but my burger was not hot at all- the cheese was not melted either. So my patty was dry, cool temperature, and lacked much flavor. I feel like eating temperature of food is very important and should be warm or hot when it arrives. I struggled to finish it. The cheeseburger was warmer, which made it better, but still felt that the meat lacked in juiciness and flavor. The onion rings and fried pickle chips were the only things that felt "fresh" and hot. Overall, I felt the food was disappointing and will likely not return.
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem!! Amazing burgers and friendly service. We make this place a go to stop. Our favorite is the Stella staple burger with onion rings or fried pickles! Recently we also tried the Watermelon mint boozy lemonade and the exact words out of our mouths after trying a sip were "this is magically delicious" as well as "this is refreshing as f***!!" Needless to say, the food and drinks are wonderful!! Make a stop at Stella's!
google avatar

Jeffrey L.

Yelp
Can't beat the Brisket Burger and BBQ sauce on side for dipping! And Fresh hot crisps
google avatar

Jessica F.

Yelp
The food is delicious and you can't go wrong with any of the burgers or your own creation! The burger doesn't come with fries so be sure to order a side if you want fries. The prices are phenomenal which is a huge draw too. The service was great with frequent check-ins to make sure we were all good. The restaurant is slightly small considering how busy it always is, but the environment is great for a small town bar and grill.
google avatar

Jamie M.

Yelp
There's something about a cold bun that makes the burger mediocre. I love the atmosphere, service and onion rings! The variety of toppings are amazing. Not sure if they have changed cooks, but past 2 buns haven't even been warm.
google avatar

Akeila B.

Yelp
Travel a lot for work and this place was recommended often by locals. It's a casual mom and pop spot. The burger was a bit overpriced for me considering it's the type of burger you can make at home. Overall good experience and would go again.
google avatar

Felicia J.

Yelp
Best burger I've had in a long time. Their bbq brisket burger is absolutely delicious - 10/10 recommend
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
By far the best burger in Nebraska. The Stella's Staple Burger was amazing and my wife enjoyed her BLT. The only downside to this place is it's always busy.
google avatar

Shelly S.

Yelp
Definitely the best burger joint I have ever been to in my 65 yrs of life. Not just one waitress makes sure all is good at your table either. You are checked on by others, and they are so kind about it. Had to wait 15 min to get a seat but didn't mind at all. Prompt on getting your order. Food came out in good time. Burger was slightly crisp on outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Perfection in my book! I'm returning Feb 11 to eat again and get a purple t-shirt. Definitely on my faves list now when I got to the city.
google avatar

Candace D.

Yelp
Perfect parking ..order ahead it's quite busy..very small kind of loud inside but outside seating more of a "order to go" for us ..brisket burger was fresh and delicious..kids meal bun didn't feel fresh, came with sweet potato fries and drink..good price though. Good neighborhood stop in
google avatar

Isabel R.

Yelp
Hands down best burgers in the metropolitan area!! Great pricing for large quantity and great quality. A burger will fill me up at lunch while still having leftovers for dinner. Service is always quick and efficient. Easily best place in town for American food :) I don't repeat many restaurants but go here at least once a month! If you're looking for good burgers in the Omaha area THIS IS THE PLACE!! (I promise the drive will be worth it)
google avatar

JT T.

Yelp
Decided to make the drive from downtown Omaha to Bellevue to try out what was considered one of the top burgers in the area. Was excited based on articles and reviews for Stella's Bar and Grill but it missed the mark for me. The cheeseburger was pretty flavorless and bland. Not sure if it was a one off situation or an off day, but it was pretty mediocre. It's a juicy burger no doubt, but some salt could go a long way. Decent burger, but not sure I'd make the trek again if I'm in town and would choose elsewhere for a good burger

Courtney M.

Yelp
Very good. The staff was nice. The food was good. The burgers were big. The fried ice cream was very good. Fries are separate from burger. Loved the unlimited Pepsi products. It was quiet in the room we were in but it was nice because we (group of 10) had a very chaotic day.

Julia H.

Yelp
Our server lady Austine was noticeably drunk and smelled like alcohol. We will not be returning.
google avatar

Missy M.

Yelp
We were greeted and seated as soon as we entered. This is a nice little pub, local feel. Asked the waitress for recommendations on what to try. We both went with hers and ordered Stella's staple burger with everything on it, bacon, egg, tomato, onion and mayo. It was delicious. Our own personal preference, we would of liked a toasted bun and we like our egg to be a bit runny, not hard. Otherwise it was almost perfect. Good flavor. We also ordered some sweet potato waffle fries and my husband had a Stella draw.
google avatar

Barbi B.

Yelp
Fast service, great burgers! My coworkers and I showed up at lunch time and there was a 30 minute wait. To me, that's a sign that it's worth it! So we waited. They got a phone number so it was just an easy text when our table was ready. We got our orders in quickly, food came out fast, and tasted great! My coworker decided he likes it here better than Sickie's, which was his previous favorite. The double was huge so don't order it unless you haven't eaten all day!
google avatar

Bo W.

Yelp
I've been here a few times since my last review. Had some hiccups on each visit. This last visit was really bad. To start, they messed up the order. Not too bad, just the wrong cheese on two of the cheeseburgers. I ordered pepper Jack, but they gave me f-ng American cheese. I absolutely despise American cheese. It's not even real cheese. I've lost a little respect for Stella's just knowing they use American cheese. The burgers were over cooked, and dried out. The fries were under cooked, and terrible. The center of a couple of fries were raw. I'm not a fan of biting into a raw potato... Overall, a star off for a terrible meal, and a star off for inconsistency.
google avatar

Tozh L.

Yelp
Fast service, Good food. This burger was HUGE!! Much bigger than I anticipated. The house was packed so seating was limited but luckily we got there just in time! I don't usually care for big crowds but this burger was worth it. Come on out and give them try if you already haven't. 8/10 recommend!!!

Yelp
So, I've not eaten at Dinkers, but Stellas and Dinkers are supposed to be the best in town. I've heard there is a cultish rivalry in town similar to In & Out vs Whataburger. I was not impressed by Stella's when I went for lunch yesterday. Bun: nothing special. Not soft or tasty. Not stale. Just present. C- Patty: cooked well, but not really seasoned much. Large, but not something to remember. C+ Toppings: a fair amount to choose from, but they charge for any additions. B- Size: I got a single and it was enough. A Fries: Well seasoned and sufficient portion. B+ I've had much better elsewhere. I'll compare it to Dinkers after I go there. 3.5 stars
