My first time here and I loved it! My boyfriend & his brother have been there many times and I was told that the food was good, the atmosphere is calm and the service was by Joe was one of the best. I definitely have to say that I would come here to dine in & if I wanted some good food that wasn’t fast food! Everything about this place I loved! Can’t wait to try more of their menu!

This place had one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had. Unfortunately I couldn’t finish it because the kitchen was closed and I needed food on my stomach. It was so hard to walk away and leave it. 😩

On our first visit, it happened to be my fiancé 🎂 birthday, and we were willing to try this place out. It's a really nice place!, which made us come back!. The service was good and our waiter (Joe)was attentive. The food was served nice and hot!. Drinks were also nice and cold!. I had the steak, cord as i had ordered and She had the salmon, which was also delicious!. Good atmosphere, homely and still has a nice entertaining vibe at nite. Yes, we've returned on a DJ nite!. Music was a bit ole school, but it was that kind of vibe. Again, r shall return!.

Step in hamburger was prepared as I ordered. It was amazing. But wow! I couldn’t even hear myself with the high volume music.

A quaint Bar Restaurant that has been in business for over 45 years. It has changed a bit since I last visited. It seems that with the overly loud music it is aimed towards the younger crowd these days. I don't mind music, but it shouldn't be loud enough to make you shout to talk across the table. To start we had Mozzarella Sticks (4). I had the New Orleans Chicken sandwich which I rated a (3). The chicken was dry, I didn't taste the Sriracha Mayo sauce at all. The French fries were a typical fast serve style. In my opinion, the prices of other dishes were a bit steep for the atmosphere.

This place is a hidden gem! The food is very good, the step in burger was amazing, one of the best burgers I have ever tried. Also ordered the tomahawk steak, and I am very surprised to get it exactly at the temperature I ordered, it was well seasoned as well. The Spanish pork chops where amazing just a bit too much gravy but that’s just me. I can’t forget about the chicken wings, I believe this place has some of the best wings in NYC and yes I mean that! The drinks are spot on, they are not stingy with the alcohol. They have a great selection of bourbon. The music was a bit loud, I felt like telling the DJ to turn it a bit down, just a bit. This place is a must try, I’m gonna try the brunch next time 😃.

The music is ok just make sure it's not too loud. The step in burger is still the best option for me. Very juicy burger with lots of flavor make it the best. My friend had the Alfredo chicken pasta and the sauce was not great.

The service is always great here. And the food is always on point. I visited on a Sunday for brunch, and they was a nice crowd. I highly recommend going on a Sunday.

The waiter was friendly and welcoming. He made us feel at home. He helped with the food choice. So many options! They have a brunch special that comes with a small Carafe of Bellini or Mimosa. The waiter suggested shrimp scampi since he said the shrimp and grits came with fried shrimp. Guess what I ordered the scampi and it too was fried??? Anyway it wasn't bad except there was a llllllot... of oil in the "scampi" My husband ordered Catfish and jalapeño grits. It was good. Just a little on the salty side.

This is my local spot so I'm REALLY BIASED when it comes to Step In. The food is great, the servers and bartenders are friendly. The overall vibe is cool depending on what you like. If you want to hear a DJ while you enjoy your food I suggest you show up on a Saturday or Friday night. If you want a family friendly environment, brunch is the perfect time for both parents and children. Great prices, great portions, great drinks and a great environment.

This restaurant/Bar is a staple in Parkchester but could use a modern and up-to-date look and feel. The food was OK that I had which was a burger and fries but I see that the party really doesn't start until the weekend.

Decided to come here for some after work drinks on a whim. Step In is located just steps from the Parkchester 6 train station. Happy Hour ends at 7 but you'll still find a lively crowd. Had a seat at the bar and ordered some wings and a drink. Scoping how the bartender pours is usually my clue whether I'm gonna stay or not. Judging by how he poured that Henny cocktail let me know I was in the right place. Happy Hour prices are more than reasonable so get here between 3 and 7pm for sure. The BBQ were fried hard, seasoned and had plenty of sauce like I like. Step In is just a good neighborhood bar period. I love coming to places like this because it's unpretentious, drinks are strong and food is delicious. What more can you ask for!?

Their portion sizes are huge, an appetizer can be considered a meal itself. Drinks are made strong

Step In is such a fun place to hang out! I went with a friend who is a regular, and it's everything he said it would be. Great drinks and food, friendly staff, and good vibes with the music! I can see why the regulars show up! I tried the shrimp basket - very simple fried shrimp and French fries. It was fresh, and an ample serving. I also tried the Lychee martini, and it was delicious! Definitely will visit again!

Amazing that's all I have to say. Owner is so nice meat is tender fries are crispy and the bread is delicious

The food and service was great. Minimal to no wait for us. The only complaint I had was the music was really loud, I could barely hear my friend and I had to shout most of the time. Music was great, DJ was fantastic but it definitely threw me off how loud it was when I was anticipating a sit down restaurant.

Great vibes all the time. Waiters have been there for years so they treat you like family. Music is great on a Saturday since there is a live DJ. The drinks are my fav especially the mango mai Thai! The shrimp quesadillas are so good and the wings are as well. It is def a family spot in the neighborhood where you can have a good time if you don't want to travel far.

This is me and my wife's favorite local bar. Pros: - Food: wings, shrimp plantains, and truffle mac and cheese is our go to but you can't go wrong with anything here - Music: they do a great job at reading the crowd and playing what people want to hear. Some days you may hear old school R&B and sometimes you may hear Megan the Stallion - Crowd: everyone is always friendly - Staff: the bartenders and servers are friendly and quick to fix any mistakes without complaints - Ambiance: it looks great in there and I love that I can watch football and grab a beer - Drinks: Great drink selection. Plenty of tasty drinks and high percentage beers. Try the strawberry mojito Cons: NOTHING just go and enjoy yourself

Okay ya know I don't do 5 stars HOWEVER it's happening now lol Long story short the food was almost as amazing as the service and energy of our waiter Joe. He .. I just wanted to hug and kiss his adorable face all up lol very attentive and had us laughing all night We had penne with chicken , steak shrimp and mash , yucca fries and mango mai tai. Cooked perfectly Now I know about this gem in the neighborhood and will definitely be back !

I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff are very warm and welcoming and make you feel like you are an important asset to their business. They are attentive, and extremely friendly on top of all of that the food and drinks are AMAZING! Food is kind of on the pricier side but 100% with it, they are bigger portions! i have no complaints on the restaurant!

I started going to Step In restaurant over 20 years ago and the food has always been so good. One of my favorite things are my favorite wings the garlic Parm (the best on the planet) but you can get them dipped in whatever. So if you are looking for wings you gotta go and get some just don't eat all my flats. The bartenders know their drinks so be prepared to be in a tipping mood.

My husband and I were really surprised! We've lived in Parkchester for close to seven years and have been to Step In on several occasions but post Covid, this location has really improved the quality of their food! It was always pretty decent, but now it's delicious. I had the salmon and shrimp with mash --everything was extremely flavorful. And the music was . I'm so happy that now their dope service (the people that work there have always been the greatest) and the food match.

I just had the most delicious steak with lobster in my entire life. I sure will be ordering it again. Delicious!

It's more diner food than a regular restaurant. And what I mean by that is . The menu is too all over the place for any chef to really concentrate on everything so something gets lost in the execution. It all sounds very yummy but someone whom works there even suggested I pick something other than what I ordered because it wasn't that good . My food was ok . I had the stuffed filet of sole. My fish was over cooked . The stuffing wasn't bad . It was so so . I hate writing bad reviews. The drinks were very good .

Let me tell y'all how much I enjoyed walking into those doors on 11/3/2020 at 5:40pm. Greeted with a smile and great conversation while I filled out the tracking form. Social distance at it's best, Other restaurants should take should follow in their footsteps. We were seated at a booth and promptly greeted by THE BEST WAITER EVER JOE! I absolutely loved his energy, he knew the menu and offered suggestions. We started with Long Islands made perfectly. (sorry I didn't meet the bartender) We ordered philly Steak n Cheese with Waffle Fries, Truffle Mac n Cheese and Garlic Parmesan Chicken. Everything was delicious! Sorry I didn't take pictures this time, the conversation, drinks and food was so good I never picked up my phone

The staff here are lovely. I have, over many years, laughed at the bartender's silly jokes, enjoyed the cheese grits at Saturday brunch, and had my last birthday celebration there. It is comfortable, unpretentious, and the portions are substantial. The only improvement that could be made is a vegetarian protein offering like maybe a Veggie brat or burger? There are vegetarian options, they just don't have a lot of protein. The people who go here are the best part. If you sit at the bar, you might talk to a policeman or a professor or a mail clerk. Or you may talk to me, a teacher! Fun spot. Convenient to the 6 train and many buses.

The food here is delicious. Eddie the bartender is very attentive and never messes up an order. He's an awesome bartender and server. Great customer service skills.

The chicken parm sandwich was missing adequate sauce and mozzarella. Don't get me wrong they give u a lot of chicken breast its just lacking more of the two mentioned ingredients. I will go back again this time I will ask for more sauce and cheese. The services was a 5 star tho the guy told me to go to my car so I won't get a ticket and he brought me my food.

Step-ins is notorious for their long wait times for their food, but today took the cake. We walk in at 4:05pm ordered our food at 4:15pm. I ordered a drink and that came at 4:45pm. So while we are waiting there was a loud family who was causing people to leave. The manager come to tell them to be lower it down they didn't listen so myself and 3 others families left. So due to the restaurants loyalty to a regular they lost about 5 tables since 2 families outside walking saw the commotion and left. Oh I fogot to mention the food finally was ready by 528pm. 1hr 15 mins later. It wasn't the waiors fault so I still paid, but the kitchen time was terrible. The drink wait time was terrible and the "regulars" who caused about 5 tables to leave were terrible. I doubt I will be returning here anytime soon

The service here is so inconsistent from visit to visit. One day you have a wonderful time with spot on service, the next time you don't get the water you asked for until the end of the meal. If the servers were a bit more attentive and consistent it would be a all around great experience

Step In is a restaurant not a lounge please don't let the flyers confuse you. It's too tight & easily gets crowded. There's usually an event that takes place here every Saturday & Sunday. They offer plenty of drink & food specials. They also offer a fishbowl for $30. Beware of the waitresses disappearing for long periods of time. There's been times where I had to put in two drink orders because the wait was extremely long. Some drinks range from weak to strong depending which bartender makes it. Step In serves delicious Honey BBQ Wings & they make a mean Shrimp Quesadilla. Do not order the Nachos it wasn't anything to write home about. This place is modestly decorated with hardwood floors, cherry wood furniture, big screen tvs, a decent amount of table tops, & a separate bathroom for both men & women.

I just moved back to the area and I have been to the restaurant twice . My husband loves the burgers and I have done the pork chops and the fish sandwich. Everything has been good so far!

Come here if you're ready for a great time! Always filled with great people and music. Highly recommend sharing the Scorpion bowl with friends - the blue one was so good! Also try the Mac 'N Cheese burger, they actually serve it without the bun! It's absolutely delicious! To top it off, the buffalo wing nachos were incredible too! Great staff, excellent service and fun atmosphere. If you're ready for karaoke, some good laughs and good vibes, step in is the place to be!

Was here for Sunday brunch, the menu for brunch was very minimal and didn't have variety. Ordered the catfish with cheese jalapeño grits, it was good very filling. Catfish battered tastefully, grits could've been a little bit creamier.

Last night was my second time going into step in, the service and food were great. Staff was friendly especially the bartender!!

So I've been here one other time and had pretty good service. Today it was subpar. The drink (Mai Tai) was good and so were the yuca fries. I ordered a green mix salad with salmon. The menu doesn't clearly state that it's the $8 for the salad and an additional $13 for the salmon. Which is a bit pricey for green mix salad, croutons and cherry tomatoes. The menu should be updated to clearly reflect that its + $13 for the salmon. My friend ordered a classic cheeseburger, which she didn't eat because she stated that it tasted spoiled. I won't be returning or suggesting this spot to anyone else unless they just want to have the basics (fries and alcohol) or listen to the live band, when it happens. The server was extremely slow and non attentive. We waited longer for her to take our orders than we did to actually eat (or not, in my friend's case) the food that was served to us.

My daughter treated me to a lovely brunch of eggs over salmon with homefries. Food was great. Brunch menu comes with a free Mimosa or Bellini. Our waiter named Joe was great. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming definately coming back and recommend if your looking for a Manhattan Vibe here in the Bronx.

Very cozy little restaurant bar in the heart or Parkchester in the Bronx, lovely attention to detail and customer service. Enjoyed the food & refreshing breakfast mimosa they served. Defiantly a thumbs up from me.

I can't begin to describe how amazing my meal was. I can just show pictures and hope they convince you enough to come in. Chef Joab is awesome! AWESOME! I think I was there for like 4 hours because of course, I enjoyed my meal with the Step in fishbowl and afterwards order the MANGO MAI TAI. You MUST order the mango Mai tai. Chef Joab...see you for Brunch! The red velvet waffles are calling me!

I'm in here for brunch at least once a month. The mimosas will have you "lit" if you let them. The stuffed french toast is my all time fave, with the berry sauce of sorts. The red velvet waffle is also delish. I haven't been here after like 2pm in a really long time but I'm sure its just as turnt as brunch if not more.

When I walked in it I was sure what to expect, my girlfriend had been here before, so she didnt know if I was gonna like the food. The server we had was dope his name was Joe the mimosas got me started. I found step in on yelp so I knew I wanted the catfish and cheese jalapeno grits. My girl had a chicken club with home fries. BOY did the food exceed wat I was thinking. The catfish was cooked perfectly and the grits besides the fact I couldve use another spoonful of grits. Her chicken club was good but them home fries tho just really good together. The atmosphere was cool they have a bunch of tv with sports(basketball) playing. Overall I would definitely return

The food was great I had baby back ribs with mashed potatoes my boyfriend had the Bronx burger with fries. Three stars because it took FOREVER for our food to come on a Sunday night barely anyone there. The drunk n love drinks are great. Our waiter was out of it he gave us a drink that wasn't even ours it was meant for the table next to us, he was rude when we asked for water and asked if we were going to eat. Gave us the bill when we didn't even ask for it yet and gave us no room to order anything else. Service sucks food is GREAT.

Went there this afternoon with my Sister for food & drinks. I must say in the 40'years that I have been going to this establishment whether it is years apart I have never been disappointed. The food & drinks are still as good as when I started going there when I was pregnant with my daughter 40 years ago. I give this spot a 10 for everything. I definitely look forward to coming here again & again. Those Mango Mai Tai's are the best!

Wow! This place really is a gem. I was strolling with my fiancé in Parkchester and we ran into Step In. We sure did! :) This place isn't what I will call a lounge but it is a beautiful restaurant. The decor and seating is very beautiful and gives off wonderful vibes here. The music is wonderful. And the food is DELICIOUS!!! We order the Garlic Parmesan wings for an appetizer. Cooked to perfection. Crispy and delightful! For main courses my lady had the Castro and I had the New Orleans chicken sandwich. Fresh, hot and SLAMIN'!! Nothing was a disappointment. I even indulge in one of their drinks. Kentucky Orchard!! So delicious and not cheap on the liquor at all!! I will be returning here and spreading the word about this place. So glad I ran into it and it won't be the last time I Step In! P.S our waiter was very sweet and kept everything refilled and was very quick. Also, clean and new bathroom. Love the walls.

The food and drinks here are great . I had a mango mai tai it was strong and very tasty . For appetizers we got honey BBQ wings and they were delicious . For main courses I got fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp it was delicious and a very big portion wasn't able to finish it . My boyfriend got catfish which came with a side of rice and string beans he really enjoyed it and kept saying how good it was . Overall this place was great the food, drinks ,the music this will definitely be a go to spot for food and drinks for me .

The food and drinks are always good. Bartenders are usually friendly. Weekends are really busy so it's hard to find a seat but the atmosphere is always fun.
