"The ceiling of Stereoscope is adorned with a stunning Renaissance-style painting, although it requires 3D glasses to discern it. It’s a colorful contrast to the stark white, multi-textured backdrop of the walls, floor, and equipment. Stereoscope also has a NASA-designed pour-over system that factors human error into its consistency, while minimizing wait times. The combination of all of the above has garnered this coffee shop a reputation for its awe-inspiring design." - Jordan Morosco

Stereoscope Coffee is one of my favorite spots when I’m craving a true coffee experience. This time I tried the Peru light roast—light, bright, and beautifully layered with notes of tangerine, Sharon fruit, and Moya cream. Their flat whites and cortados are consistently top-tier, and on this visit, the barista was kind enough to create latte art and let me take a video of it—such a thoughtful touch that made my day. The vibe here is youthful and creative, with an industrial-chic interior, lots of natural light, and that playful wall of 3D glasses that always catches your eye. Seating options are both indoor and outdoor, giving you space to work, relax, or catch up with a friend. Stereoscope is for the coffee purists—they use a Strada machine and their baristas really know how to dial in the espresso. It always surprises me how many people opt for matcha here (which is good too!), but if you’re skipping the espresso drinks, you’re truly missing out. Pastries tend to sell out by early afternoon on weekends, so come early if you’re hoping to snag one. And while parking can be a bit of a dance, they do validate, which helps. All in all, this place is a gem for anyone who takes their coffee seriously.

LOVE THIS COFFEE SHOP!! I’ve been to countless cafes in OC and this location of Stereoscope is pretty close to the top of my list right now. Lots of outdoor seating and great atmosphere. Staff was friendly and very helpful carrying our food to us in the outdoor seating. Our coffee, croissant, and avocado toast were all perfect. I can’t wait to come back here!! Don’t forget to have them validate your parking ticket!

I tried this spot and was disappointed so now you don’t have to go through the same dissatisfaction. I got the breakfast burrito along with a ceremonial matcha. I paid an extra $1.50 for a higher grade matcha (Yorokobi) and another $1 for honey as a sweetener. Unfortunately, the matcha was super disappointing. There was barely any matcha flavor — it tasted watery, grainy, and didn’t seem like it was mixed properly. I couldn’t taste any of the honey either, which made me wonder if it was even added at all. I should’ve listened to other reviews mentioning how watery their matchas are. There were others who tried the highest and lowest grades and both said they were equally underwhelming. Honestly, paying extra for a “higher quality” matcha should come with a noticeable difference in taste — but here, all levels just seem poorly executed. The only good thing was the breakfast burrito. But overall, I’m really disappointed. I’ve had much better matcha elsewhere for a lower price. Wouldn’t recommend this place for matcha..

Really enjoyed my visit, my latte was delicious. Service was excellent and I had a nice conversation with the staff. Bought some beans that were delicious. Lots of seating nearby in the complex, great place to meet someone to catch up or for a casual business meeting. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

I ordered the Ujigawa oat milk matcha (sweetened with honey, iced) and left feeling disappointed. At $14 for the drink alone ($16 with a 15% tip), it was the most expensive option on the menu, so I had high expectations based on the description: rich and creamy. Instead, I received a watery, unmixed drink that tasted no better than the ready-made matcha packets. On the other hand, my friend ordered the Nakama matcha with almond milk and honey, which was the least expensive matcha option, and it tasted great. I also had other friends try my drink, and they liked it—it seems to come down to personal preference. If you enjoy a strong, earthy matcha, this might be for you. Personally, I think I would’ve loved it if it had been a bit sweeter and creamier and if they actually put effort into mixing it. Adding a star because the desserts looked appealing, the atmosphere was nice, service was welcoming, and there was plenty of seating. But for the price of my drink, I expected much more. (I really just cant get over the $16 spent on the drink and it not even being mixed well.) For those driving, a side note: you can get your parking validated inside.

Casual but cute place with decent food and great coffee. I would say coffee is better than blue bottle and at better price

Let’s knock down the hype a much needed peg. This place has run away with its own reputation. As a coffee enthusiast, I can tell you there are plenty of equivalent or better specialty shops in the area without all the hassle. This place is incredibly slow, inefficient, and cramped. Not to mention a ridiculous $30 for a bag of beans that are no better than any specialty roaster in the area. They’re trading on hype from their early success in specialty coffee. It’ll take you 20 minutes in line and another 20 minutes to get your coffee, and they’ll forget your pastry half the time. Do yourself a favor and go to Moongoat, Portola, Lion & Lamb, Daydream, or any other great specialty shop instead. A long line doesn’t mean better, it just means you’re one of the schmucks who goes to places Instagram’s hype machine keeps telling you about. It’s just an unpleasant experience knowing there are so many faster and more spacious places around that are just as good if not better.

Google
Overall, the café has excellent coffee quality, delicious food, and a pleasant atmosphere. However, the operations could use some improvement. I noticed that they use the same spoon and water to rinse all the different drinks, which feels a bit unhygienic and changes the taste of the BLACK Coffee.

Yelp
Love this spot. Cool vibe inside with the marble and 3D ceiling art. Staff is all helpful. A little confusing to get to if you've never been as it's in a sims-like business complex. Park in the garage and they validate parking. Their standard vanilla latte lives up to the hype, it's quite lovely and perfectly balanced. Also, I'm a matcha lover and I appreciate their multiple ceremonial options. Do note, if you just order the regular matcha latte, it's not the same quality. Go for one of the ceremonial listed options. Delicious pastry options too.. they have a killer CCC. Recommend!

Takuma M.

Yelp
Went here on a Sunday afternoon. Located in middle of business complex, park at the parking structure because Stereoscope validates your parking for two hours! I had their iced ceremonial matcha and fruit tea. The matcha is bitter (in a good way) but not as earthy (unfortunately). They hand whisk every drink and love the detail they put in even though it is quite busy. However, the portion of the drink is quite little for what you pay for. Definitely interested in the difference in the different types of matcha. The cafe is built with an open entrance, connecting the interior and exterior. The inside feels a bit tight but the outside area feels nice to sit under the sky.

Yelp
Visited Stereoscope on a Saturday morning and was surprised by how long the line was! Didn't realize that there was an order ahead option so I'll definitely be using that next time. I ordered an iced Spanish latte and got my friend an iced ceremonial matcha milk with vanilla. I really liked my latte - I asked for less sweet and it was perfect. I've heard the hype around Stereoscope matcha so I was excited to try my friend's drink. Not sure if it was an off-day but I could tell that the matcha flavor itself was rich -- but the drink itself tasted a little watered down. There's some seating inside and some seating outside, but it gets very crowded so it might not be the best place to get work done with the crowd and noise. I would definitely come back for the Spanish latte again!

Yelp
I ordered the strawberry matcha with oat milk and it was $8.25, which is a bit steep imo. That's why it's getting 4 stars. But it was a 10/10!! The strawberry flavor is all natural and not artificial at all. There are actual strawberry pieces in the drink. It has the perfect amount of sweetness to it as well. As for service, the cashier was so nice when taking my order. It did take like 20-25 min for me to get my drink because I ordered at 1:15 and sat down at like 1:40ish. I came here to study but the atmosphere isn't great to focus in. Don't get me wrong though, it's a beautiful cafe with amazing artwork on the ceiling and the vibes are so nice. The actual coffee shop is small but there's a giant work area through the back. There aren't many outlets available though so again not a place I'd come back to for studying but I would visit again for the strawberry matcha. I hate that it's expensive especially for the size and charging $1.25 for oat milk is crazy but it's a good drink.

Yelp
Food/Drink: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Ambiance: 9/10 I used to only know stereoscope for their americanos. And I always knew they were solid, just never thought they were special. BUT recently I tried their food and ceremonial matcha latte, and I have fallen in love. Adding their housemade vanilla syrup into their matcha latte... wow. I think it's the best matcha I've ever had. I tried their BLTA and famous breakfast burrito and it was just all good. I love a good breakfast. Coming back.

Vanessa D.

Yelp
I am on the hunt to find the best matcha in Southern California! And this place might be my number one! I got the Ujigawa latte ($12.50)~ the price is steep HOWEVER I do believe it was well worth the money! So rich and umami. Every matcha lovers dream come true. Excited to try the other ceremonial grade matchas and see how they are, but if I'm ever just really needing a solid pick up me up matcha- this is it.

Sarah P.

Yelp
I got a strawberry latte and ordered their breakfast burrito. The latte is always good and I can count on Stereoscope. The breakfast burrito was okay. It was good but I felt like it wasn't amazing. It just tastes like a breakfast burrito you can get anywhere else. I've wanted to come here and check the Newport Beach location out. The cafe has limited seating but there's seating available outside. You have to get validated parking in the structure. This location was pretty good and I'll stop by if I need a quick drink.

Jessy Z.

Yelp
I usually go to the Buena Park location to get my coffee or matcha. I got the matcha tonic at this location. There's different types of matcha for to choose from for the baristas to make your drink. I personally think their matcha has decent quality so I would recommend getting their matcha here if you're a matcha fan. Service was quick and efficient. The atmosphere also feels like a chill hangout or study area like their Buena Park location. There is a parking structure across their location and I would make sure to have them validate your ticket.

Ena C.

Yelp
Really cute cafe, large selection of drinks you can choose from. Not just coffee but also lots of teas as well. It is part of a business area so that threw me off. There is a lot of seating outside of the cafe the inside has a few tables. It will look like theres only 2-3 tables inside when you first get there but there are more seating tucked in the corner. You need to park in the structure that says its paid but when you buy something at the cafe they validate your parking for 2 hours.

Dan P.

Yelp
Nakama matcha latte w/ honey - this comes originally unsweetened but adding the honey balanced drink with a mild, natural sweetness. the matcha flavor is solid--smooth and not too strong, but still present, without being too diluted. however, matcha can be mixed a little more thoroughly because it was a bit grainy. Shop located in a large, spacious, and modern business building. Parking an available in a lot directly across shop, take the ticket with you to validate it (free parking!). There is a bit of a wait to order and to get drinks - understandable because they mix their matcha per order. Honestly the best place to study as well - so many tables/seats/outlets inside and out, you can go to the building next door as well!

Chloe S.

Yelp
That matcha latte spot you've been searching for! The matcha is creamy, smooth and has a bit of umami. If you like your matcha on the sweeter side get the strawberry matcha latte! The strawberry pulp is the perfect consistency to slurp through the straw and adds that sweet kick to the drink. If you're looking for a quick bite don't sleep on their breakfast burrito. It comes crispy on the outside, and warm and fluffy inside. There are hash browns inside with cream avocado spread, get the hot sauce on the side and you can't ask for a better bite. There is both indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy your lattes or work. Not to mention they validate parking in the lot across the street just be sure to bring your ticket with you when ordering.

Sara B.

Yelp
I really like the quality of the matcha here. They definitely know what they are doing and it gets pretty busy! It's in an office complex with Hoag so it is not in a super obvious location and I would say seating is a bit limited, so keep that in mind if you are wanting to sit here. The staff is super duper friendly and they make conversation/look happy to be there which says a lot and makes the experience better. They definitely know about their products too. The staff get 5 stars from me. My strawberry matcha was high quality-- one thing to note is that it is particularly sweet so if you want it to be less sweet, I'd probably mention that beforehand. But if you love a sugary beverage, it's delicious. I tried my friend's matcha and the ceremonial grade matcha was excellent. Very tasty and just what you would look for in good matcha. Big thing here-- parking...you can park in the structure and get validated which will reduce the parking fee because that structure otherwise charges $1.25 every 15 minutes for a $20 maximum which is kind of...heinous. Honestly, bottom line-- good quality drinks, friendly staff, would suggest to get your stuff to go to avoid dealing with the parking and limited seating.

Yelp
Recently my friends and I have been wanting to find chicken caesar wraps in OC. We saw this place online and came to check it out. There is valet parking and they DO validate so bring your tickets and make sure to validate it as you check out. Stereoscope is in a business complex area, so ah lunch time it gets busy. Luckily, we beat it just before the rush. Seating is a bit limited, and it's cramped in there when it gets busy. There is seating outside but they ask you not to bring food plates outside as apparently they get stolen. They also sell cool Stereoscope merch like kettles and shirts. Service was fast and patient. We took quite a while to decide what we wanted but they didn't seem to mind! You can also add your number for points. I got the caesar wrap, while my friends got the sweetened matcha latte and breakfast burrito. The chicken caesar salad wrap was refreshing as it had more vegetables that Ggiata's (in LA) but it was missing flavor and also a sauce. The breakfast burrito was very rich and dense, and for 50 cents you could get hot sauce (very much needed in my opinion). Based on my sip of the matcha latte, it was a little too sweet but it had great matcha flavor. All in all, it was fun to try with my girls but I wouldn't drive all the way back to Newport Beach for the food or matcha. I'm sure they get a lot of businesses from the nearby workplaces though!! Worth a try if you're in the area (:

Yelp
One of the best matches I've had! This was my first time trying this spot and I was blown away from the interior to the service and finally the drinks. I really love the vibe of the place/interior design but keep in mind it's a very small place so there's only about 4 small tables inside. However there's seating outside as well. I love the openness of this cafe too. I got their sweetened matcha with oat milk and I thought it was the perfect ratio of matcha and milk but I definitely want to try their unsweetened ones next time. Love how they bring out your drinks to wherever you are instead of having you come to the counter it's a nice touch I appreciated since you don't see this at cafes. Parking: There is a parking structure you can park at and you just need to show them your ticket and they will validate it for you (2 hours).

Pennt T.

Yelp
Small spot in the middle of office buildings in Newport but it is packed. Really busy and we got confused because you have to go inside the shop to get in line. I got the yorokobi matcha latte with oat milk and honey, almost 10$!! It came out surprisingly quick & I did have to ask for more honey but the barista was nice about it. The matcha tasted good, no bitterness and has the perfect green tea flavor. But like the matcha quality doesn't matter too much for lattes because the milk, so I don't think it was worth the amount I paid. I would totally come back again and get the cheaper matcha!

Alaia A.

Yelp
What a quaint coffee shop in Newport Beach. If you're a matcha lover like me, you know how smooth a matcha latte should be. I loved the sweetened matcha latte I ordered. It was a bit sweet for my liking after a couple of sips, but I still very much enjoyed it. I would love to try their food/baked goods during my next visit. The staff was quick to take my order and my order was ready within minutes. I loved how they walk your order to you once ready. The bathroom is located inside the corporate office building. I am unsure how the parking works with the structure, but I believe they have validation here. I am glad I came across this coffee shop and would recommend checking it out as the ambiance and staff were all very warm and welcoming.

Vince P.

Yelp
Stereoscope Coffee is a solid spot for your next coffee run! This spot is located in a very corporate business like plaza. There is some street parking or also garage parking where you can get parking validation at the shop. Inside, they have some seating and an open space. For their menu, they have a great selection of different coffee, teas, milk teas, matcha, and more. I stopped by with the homies to grab some drinks before lunch and got the Royal Milk Tea. The drink was refreshing and had an amazing balance of black tea and oolong notes. Overall, I would definitely recommend checking this spot out if you get the chance. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. From their menu, to their service, you can tell that they put a lot of thought and craftsmanship into their products.

Brianna L.

Yelp
Drink: Matcha is pretty solid, just a bit on the sweeter side which is kind of my fault since I did order the sweetened matcha LMAO. I would suggest getting their ceremonial matchas instead of the sweetened ones if you're looking for something more authentic. I also ordered a sweetened matcha another time and it tasted even sweeter (consistency is kinda off). It also depends on what mood you're in! Food: THE PASSIONFRUIT KOUIG AMANN was so delicious, so unique, and so good. The passionfruit cream was super light, but had that little kick to it. The outside pastry is flaky and caramelized, not too heavy. I also got the breakfast burrito which was solid, just not enough meat :(. Service: They were really nice, they even bring the drink to wherever you are located which is super nice and unlike any other cafe. Only thing is that every single employee is occupied with something, so some of them may not attend the register LOL, but completely fine because they're really busy! That means their food/drinks take awhile, probably because they're made to order as well :'). Again completely understandable, but it does make the drinks/food a little less justifiable. Ambiance: Inside a very businessy corporate plaza. In the actual coffee shop, it's very open and super aesthetic!!! I wouldn't say that it's perfect for studying, but there is pretty fast WiFi, some charging spots (not too many that I saw), and limited seating inside, but lots of seating outside which is rlly nice on a warm day hehe. Also! Get your parking tickets validated inside the cafe!

Iman A.

Yelp
Okay, this location became an instant favorite for me. I visit the Buena Park location as it's closer to me but came here since I was visiting a friend. The interior is gorgeous and I couldn't stop taking pictures of the ceiling. Have you ever fallen in love at first bite before? Because I now have. One of my friends ordered the chicken Caesar wrap and I got the matcha pistachio croissant. The croissant was flaky and the matcha/pistachio cream on the outside of the croissant was delicious. I regret not getting another one. The chicken Caesar wrap was also very tasty. Thank you to the Yelp reviews who said Stereoscope validates parking as that was really helpful. The line was super long when we came around 10am Saturday morning, so we decided to order online while waiting. By the time we got to the front of the register, our food and drinks were ready. Can't wait to come again!

Nick C.

Yelp
Having a quality coffee shop literally within a 2-min walk from your desk is a luxury and I'm glad to be here for it. It's no wonder they are so busy throughout the entire day from tending to all of the office buildings, but the sheer amount of outside visitors too. The space is beautiful as they have that inside-outside vibe and plenty of seating all around for conversations, hang-outs or even spaces to sit down and do work. For drinks, I've had most of their lattes, but I usually stick with the Large Ice Latte w/ Oat Milk ($8). The other flavors (vanilla and chocolate) are a bit too sweet for me. They also have seasonal flavors such a Pina Colada and currently it is PSL. I've also tried their pour overs which are super delicious too, I love the variety of beans that you get to pick from which I think changes from time to time. I've yet to try their cooked foods, but I've had a few of the pastries. You definitely need to go earlier to get them as they do sell out but it's a great addition to an already great coffee shop! Blessed to have such an amazing coffee shop that can fuel my brain, will definitely be back!

Ian P.

Yelp
best coffee and best matcha out here. staff is super friendly as well. Cool vibes, a nice painted ceiling where you can check out thru some 3D glasses they have placed around the store. the only downside is the indecision of most of the guests which makes the line move slow.

Marissa D.

Yelp
Solid matcha latte. Very creamy and good quality. It does come sweetened which is a plus since you don't have to pay for sweetener, but if you're not a sweet person I'd definitely recommend asking for half sweet. I've had their espresso & cold brew which are also really good. Haven't tried their food but hope to next time I visit! Plenty of outdoor seating, some seats are in the sun but if you walk around there's other tables a little further from the shop. Workers here are really great at what they do and are always smiling.

Alyssa C.

Yelp
Been on a matcha kick lately. Decided to visit an old favorite but at a newer location. Stereoscope in Buena Park is still the best location imo but this one has a nice view by its surroundings. Their iced Spanish latte and royal milk tea are worth every penny. Their matcha is on the sweeter side compared to other places but still bombskies.

Kyle D.

Yelp
Place doesn't take their own gift cards. $45 for two breakfast burritos and coffee, so we only came here since we had a gift card. Waited 30 mins in line for them to tell us they dont take their own gift cards. We love coffee shops so were used to long lines for good coffee, but the prices are ridiculous for the food, so to not even take your own gift card is unreasonable. If someone wants a $50 gift card to this place, go dig in the trash because im just getting rid of it since this place wont take it. So lame. Theres also better coffee at different places. Overratted shop.

Milan K.

Yelp
After a run, I was craving a matcha. I decided on this place due to the multiple matcha options. I did wait in quite a long line -- easily 30 minutes. To me, that indicated it was good! The decor was gorgeous and overall aesthetic was clean and artsy. Although they did have multiple matcha options, I asked for the most umami based matcha. To be honest, my matcha - although delicious was not what i thought. I might try the more premium blend.

Monica G.

Yelp
Stereoscope has been all over social media and we decided to try their Newport location which is located in an area full of office buildings and hotels. Parking is indoors and validated. It's obviously a popular coffee joint judging by the line. Very limited seating inside a lot of options if you want to sit outside. The workers were really really friendly and not pretentious like some of the ones who work in Los Angeles coffee shops. We tried the cold brew and lychee tea and both were good. Smaller than other locations but still a cool experience.

Lauren S.

Yelp
This place was not it for me. Matcha shoukdn't taste like sugar and candy in my opinion. It's crazy that places serve drinks like that. They remade it and it's just okay. In sit in Costa Mesa makes a proper matcha and even the unsweetened ceremonial is full of flavor. I ordered the breakfast sandwich which was slathered and I mean slathered in sugary, chunked apples or something that I'm guessing was supposed to be a jam. The entire thing again, tasted like candy, and was not edible. I had to throw it away. The egg in it was burnt. For me this place was a crazy waste of time and money. Very little seating. Parking is ticketed structure parking and no quick spots to run in. Unless you work in this plaza this place is a hard no.

matlin a.

Yelp
I am a repeat customer and recommend people to this cafe whenever I can. I personally love their iced matcha, iced lattes, and their breakfast burritos~ They have outdoor seating and the business center has really cute inside seating too. You park in the structure across the way just make sure to grab a ticket so they can validate your 2 hour parking for free. Overall, the cafe moves pretty fast and the service is great.

tara ..

Yelp
This is my third time here, the staff are super sweet and literally bring your drink to you without asking! Also the matcha is very high quality and they adjust the sweetness to tour liking , will be back again soon!

Esther M.

Yelp
This matcha was amazing. Stereoscope stands out for me from other coffee/matcha shops in la. They do one free drink if you buy a bag of coffee beans. The service is always good, sweetness is perfect. I'd come here again for sure and would like to try different locations.

Nis J.

Yelp
Great service. The barista took time to explain the different types of matcha. Also the vanilla Madagascar latte was terrific. Not too sweet and very creamy. Small cozy store but it was peaceful. Love the lighting and artwork in the ceiling! I will be back.

Erin Y.

Yelp
They do validation here, so make sure to bring your parking ticket with you inside of stereoscope. I ordered two Madagascar vanilla coffees and they are a bit sweet so I would recommend adding less sugar a little bit on the pricey side however, if you enjoy the Newport air and want to sit outside, it's a great spot to hang out with friends. There is not much scenery there however unless you would like to sit inside of a corporate building , I would recommend this place if you are trying to do homework, but I would not recommend it as a place to walk around and enjoy. The best thing that I have to say about this place is their breakfast burrito me and my friends usually split one because it is very filling - their spicy sauce is a must ! I will say that they go above and beyond for service because when me and my boyfriend were sitting outside, they hand brought our food items and coffee and were super nice ! Overall really pleasant experience and I would come again. The only thing is the parking.

Aileen W.

Yelp
Came by again after a year and ordered my usual: an iced matcha latte and smoked salmon toast. Still a solid 10/10. Brought my sister along for her first visit, and she agreed the salmon toast was the best she's had. She opted for the ceremonial matcha, which she enjoyed, but I found hers too bitter for my liking. Personally, I'll stick to my trusty iced matcha latte. We dropped by during lunch time on a Friday and it was busy - there were no seats but we lucked out and a group left right as we got our food. There's parking in the lot across the street; just make sure to validate your ticket - they give you 2 hours free.

Kristina C.

Yelp
Found this place tucked away in a business area and super shocked to see that it gets very busy here! ***What I ordered ~ **Spanish Latte w/ Oat Milk - (10/10) I'm not entirely sure what's in a Spanish latte, but it had hints of spices to it. Specifically cinnamon. It also had a nice creaminess to it as well. Surprisingly, this drink wasn't overly sweet, rather a nice balance of bitter, spiced, and sweet! I would totally come back here again. I went on a weekday in the afternoon and there was a line. So be prepared to wait! Ps. The inside of the coffee shop looks sick. Especially when you see the art on the ceiling using the 3D glasses haha.

Celine S.

Yelp
Amazing coffee, friendly staff, and great food. I really enjoy coming here during the weekdays, but I will warn you that the line of the weekends gets very long. I've waited up to an hour for my drinks in the past. I would recommend using Yelp to order ahead if you can. It is located in a business center, so make sure you get your parking validated

Gabriel B.

Yelp
You have to park in a paid parking lot, but luckily your ticket can be validated. The inside of the shop was small but cute, and the baristas were very nice. The coffee was good, but I don't think it necessarily fit my tastes.

Amber H.

Yelp
This place is amazing the service is 5 stars the whole team but I would like to give a special shout out to Andrea, she was super helpful answering questions genuinely and efficiently as it was our first time. Their pastry selection was beautiful and their service is TOP TIER thank you to the whole team and especially Andrea, you're a true STAR

Anna G.

Yelp
Dear Yelp Community, This venue is great! Food. Service. Ambiance. I loved the avocado toast. Well wishes. Sincerely, Anna

Jacqueline N.

Yelp
My mom and I are consistent with our weekly lunch dates: coffee first, either from one of our favorites or a new spot, followed by lunch somewhere else. Since discovering Stereoscope a few months ago, it's become a staple for us. The service is always great; the staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The ambiance is lovely, with simple decor and plenty of seating--some indoors, but most outside. I'm not sure if there are charging outlets, but if there are, it'd make a perfect spot for working since it's relatively quiet with just enough people-watching, as it's located beneath office spaces. The drinks are consistently excellent--never burnt, always fresh, and always flavorful. My go-to is either the Madagascar vanilla latte or the Spanish latte, hot or iced, and it always hits the spot. My mom loves the Yorokobi milk matcha; it's authentically matcha-forward, not too sweet, with the focus on the earthy, vibrant taste of the matcha leaves. The main downside is the parking--it's plentiful but in a garage across the street, which can be inconvenient if you're in a rush. The line can get long, but that just speaks to how loved the shop is. It's a bit on the pricier side, but given how coffee prices are these days, it's about on par.

Yelp
The Nakama Milk was perfect as always. I did find the hot drink to be stronger and more bitter than the iced. They do charge $1.25 extra for oat milk and extra to add in honey to sweeten the drink, which is necessary for the hot matcha. Staff were great with helping answer questions and the shop is very small, so it's a good idea to take your drink outdoors.

Yelp
Drink: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Heard they have good matcha here and decided to try it out! They had a couple different types of ceremonial matcha and wasn't sure which one to get. The barista that rang me up recommended the Nakama or Yorokobi. I decided to go with Nakama, latte style with oat milk. They hand whisk the matcha! The drink was so good! Nice bright green color, not too sweet, and not grainy at all! Will definitely return whenever I'm in the area :)

Yelp
I regularly stop by Stereoscope to get some studying done. I've heard great things about the matcha and food, but have not tried them. I'm a sweet and milky coffee person. Not a fan of black coffees, and I tend to be pretty picky. The Madagascar vanilla latte is one of my favorite lattes I've had in OC. So so delicious and makes studying worthwhile There isn't too much seating inside, but there's plenty outside and in the building next door. It's lovely and upscale and very clean. Service is great, they're always quick and polite. A couple downsides that keep me from coming more often than I do is that parking can get pretty pricey. They validate 2 hours but I usually stay longer to study. After that is $1.25/15 minutes. Also, there are no outlets in the building next door. There are only two in the store, but seating is very limited and it gets a little loud inside.

Yelp
Stereoscope has been one of my top 3 Roasters/Cafes in OC. This Newport Location is located in Bayview Business Center plaza off of Bristol/Bayview. The entrance is on the side of the building facing the parking structure. Parking is in the parking structure where they do 2 hour validation. There's a few spots in front for "loading zone" for a quick grab and go if its open. They do have plenty of outdoor seating in the public plaza, or within the business center courtyard. Inside there's limited seating with maybe less then 10 total spots. They do offer a free drink with the purchase of any bag of beans. Yes they beans were are on the premium price side but you get what you pay for. The barista's are always super friendly and helpful if it's your first time. They personally delivery your drink to you if you are dining in too! The 3D painting on the ceiling is a must see too. They have 3D classes available along the wall to view the dreamy painting. You literally cannot go wrong with any drink here. They have a full range of espresso drinks, pour overs, teas and milk teas. They do have seasonal menus if you follow them on social media. If you're looking for food they do offer a good brunch menu. They do have some sandwich/salad options for lunch too. Will definitely be back again for my coffee beans and caffeine fixes.

Yelp
A good stop for either coffee or matcha in OC! Went on a Saturday morning and there was a line about 10-15' + Drink: Madagascar Vanilla Latte was 9/10, great flavors just a tadddd bit too sweet for my taste bu good coffee flavor. My friend said her matcha latte was great, not too sweet with pronounce matcha taste without being grassy. + Space: Inside is small with a few seatings. More people sat outside in the patio of the building. + Parking: I parked right in front of the building at the 20' spot but seems like you can also park in the garage and the coffee shop can validate your ticket.

Yelp
New favorite matcha latte place unlocked!!! So. Freaking. Good. I love how you still get the earthy taste, the milky taste, and the sweetness! It's really a perfect combination because at other matcha places, one of the three usually overpowers the others. For a medium matcha w/ oat milk, it comes out to about $7. You can park in the parking garage across the way, just don't forget to get your ticket validated. It's pretty small inside, so there's a few single seats inside and more seating outside. Whenever I FaceTime my boyfriend during my matcha run, he's always amazed by the pretty ceiling lol. Service is quick and all of the employees are friendly.

Yelp
I ordered a nakama matcha latte which was a solid matcha 8/10. However, I wouldn't return and was disappointed with the customer service at this place. My friend got a strawberry matcha latte (it was way sickeningly sweet and not enough matcha, would not recommend and truly don't see anyone enjoying it). After asking the barista if there was a way to remake the drink so that it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet, the lady was rude, didn't seem to care, and tried to charge her an additional $2 to remake it. I understand the place was busy, but the lack of care for the customer, tone and side eye in the back and forth interaction brought my friend to tears and was disrespectful.

Yelp
Our go to coffee spot when out of town coffee people are in town! Great quality coffee and lots of indoor seating in the business complex. Make sure to get your parking validated!

Yelp
my favorite matcha spot. they also got this breakfast sandwich (the deluxe english muffin) -- to die for. it is a little bit on the expensive side but imo worth it! the lines on the weekends can get pretty long but the baristas work fast. they're also lovely & everyone's always in a good mood here. i've tried other stereoscope locations, but none lives up to the customer service at newport beach location. their kitchen i believe closes at 3PM, so come before if you wanna try their food menu! my go to drink is simple -- the ceremonial matcha sweeten latte & it always hits. if you buy matcha powder they have available for purchase, it comes with a free drink. parked in the parking structure across the street? if you spend $35+ at stereoscope they'll validate your parking too! spacious outside seatings as well!
