One of the best steaks i had in my life! Rib eye Aged 35 days! Atmosphere is so classy Our waiter Sam was so friendly and professional! Food is amazing! I really enjoyed my experience in sterlings even though it was a week day on a Tuesday but i chose it for my birthday dinner and i don’t regret it! I will definitely come back!

We came to Sterlings Steakhouse to celebrate my birthday, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish — 10/10! Our waiter was very kind and attentive, and the service overall was excellent. The steak was absolutely delicious, and the booth was very comfortable, which made the evening even more enjoyable. To top it all off, the staff surprised me by singing happy birthday and bringing out a tiramisu that my boyfriend had arranged — such a thoughtful and special touch. I would definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to go back!

Second time at Sterlings Steakhouse and it did not disappoint. Our server RYAN was amazing. Helpful with the menu and suggestions. All the staff was amazing. As for the food, from the bread to the dessert was exceptional. Crab cake amazing, calamari amazing and roast beef amazing. Will be back 100%. Thank you for a great culinary experience. DINO wasn’t our waiter but was very helpful also.

There are under five (5) places in Montreal and surrounding areas that I can contest to having the utmost superior customer service and quality of food I have experienced. Sterling's has made the grade! Manager Joy, Servers JP and Sam, treated my Brother and me like we were the only customers in the place that mattered....at Lunchtime! The Staff were proud and happy to fix a small issue with results that were over and above necessary that made the both of us embarrassed for having pointed it out....even the owner came to our table to ensure we were happy. Wow! Gibbys should send some of their staff here for training! The escargot were light, not abused by the garlic, lightly blanketed with cheese that was not gummy nor be mistaken as Frisbee. The mashed potatoes were perfect and the prime rib roast beef is the best I have had in the Montreal area. (Sam, you were right!) This will be my new place to go as I definitely want to try other items on the menu!

Came for my friends party on Sunday. We were loud and probably a bit obnoxious but the waiting staff was calm and very welcoming. The food was equally good. There's a wide variety of choices to meet anyone at any price point and enjoy the experience of being in such a fine restaurant. From ribs to steak you can't go wrong. My only regret is that I didnt try the seafood. Shout out Yuna and Ryan( I'm sorry if that's not your name I kind forgot)

Friend of ours thought it was time we try out this restaurant that she frequents. So we jumped in the car and made our way to Laval and sat in this very well decorated restaurant that made you feel at home in a calming environment, you know the one, no kids and no dogs barking. The music volume was set just right, where you were able to have a lovely conversation among friends. Great atmosphere to enjoy your meal that you will definitely talk about on your drive home. You are now wondering why I talking so much about the restaurant itself and not the food? How many times have you dropped hundreds of dollars for a special occasion and the restaurant had the music so loud you couldn’t tell your server what you are ordering. People all raising their voices so they can carry a conversation? Well now lets talk about the food, the pictures will speak thousands of words. I highly, and I mean highly recommend the BBQ octopus, the Prime Rib and the lobster tails were 10/10 eyes closed. The Rib Steak was cook properly medium rare but I like to have it basted with warm butter and finally two last were calamari could have stayed one more minute and Lamb Chops touch over by one minute but all in all I highly recommend Sterlings Steakhouse for those special occasions.

Went to Sterling’s last night and had a great experience. The atmosphere is lovely. Our server, Mr. Dino, was very friendly, kind and genuinely welcoming. The food was good especially the chocolate mousse with ice cream! There was a small issue related to one of their promotional offers, but the owner and staff handled it really well and resolved it quickly. I think what truly sets a restaurant apart is how they deal with customers, and the customer service here was excellent. The owner was especially kind and accommodating. Overall, a great place in Laval and definitely worth checking out !

We had an amazing dining experience at Sterling's! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the beautiful decor - the atmosphere felt classy and welcoming, perfect for a special night out or if you're going for a late lunch like we did. We were lucky to have Dino as our waiter; he was attentive, knowledgeable, and made our visit feel extra special. We loved how kind he was as well. The food was exceptional, especially the sauces! The crab cakes and a sauce with dill I believe and calamari and sweet sorta mayo but soooo good ! They were standouts - perfectly cooked and flavorful. We loved our medium steaks, cooked just right and incredibly juicy. The baked potato was massive, and they didn't hold back on the fillings, making it a true treat. And we can't forget the crusty bread they bring to start, which was the perfect way to kick off the meal. Sterling's is officially on my list of go-to spots for a classy evening or late lunch or a girls night out since they have an awesome menu. Can't wait to come back for those crab cakes :)

Loanne was our waitress she was great and amazing service. Crab cakes were my favorite part they're made with blue crab and have a special sauce. Definitely a must!

Although the food did take a while to be served, it was pretty good. The waitress was very polite and patient. The ambiance of the entire place was very fitting, kind of fancy. It wasn't too loud or too dark in the restaurant. Would recommend to go at least once.

Really great place for steak and seafood. Long wine list, tasty cocktails and a nice ambiance. We went on a Saturday night late in the evening and they were very busy. Definitely recommend!

Went for my birthday dinner here , I kindove didnt check the reviews prior and I now feel ripped off and my birthday ruined :( i should have known better to check the reviews before hand oh well... ok so for service I can't complain ... it was great service and the waitress' were amazing! Food was just NASTY!! Ughhh i wouldnt even give the food a 1 star. I ordered the clam chowder to start what I got was nothing close to a clam chowder it tasted rotten it was some old cream of mushroom liquid cold something .. ugh was it awful ... I almost threw up.. !! Clam choders thick and rich in flavours. Everything came out cold and disgusting bland beyond belief! The calamari and rockefeller oyster all stone cold and soggy! They served us romaine lettuce after the e-coli scare.. this place is not sanitary and They really dont care. The place looks so beautiful and can really improve if they can fire the cooks that they have now or get better quality produce. Overall, I definitely do not recommend this place avoid avoid at all cost

Beautiful ambiance, wine, food presentation and staff. All make for a wonderful dining experience. I really cant think of another restaurant in all of Laval that meets the qualities of Sterlings.

Atmosphere: very nice, the lights were not too dim and the tables were well spaced out. Very clean and well decorated Food: delicious! Everything we ordered was full of flavour The drinks were great too. I had an old fashion and it was very well prepared Service: AMAZING! our waiter Jonathan exceeded our expectations with such an incredible service. He paid great attention to detail and ensured everything ran smoothly

This is by far one of the nicest dining experiences in Laval, possibly Montreal. The wine selection cant be beat and the steaks are as good as it gets.

I'm not normally one to leave a review but, all the food we ordered was delicious and we will be back to try the rest of their menu. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Made for a great night out. Location was a plus!

I'll just start off by saying that my experience at Sterlings wasn't terrible. Our server was very efficient and friendly, and their menu is pretty varied for a steakhouse. Honestly, it would have been an good experience if not for the food. I ordered the ribs off their Table D'Haute menu. Although the ribs weren't the worst I've ever had, they did leave a lot to be desired. Mine were super dry, kind of small, and the sauce that they used just didn't do it for me. I prefer a saltier/smokier sauce, but theirs was weirdly sweet? I don't know. It just wasn't for me. Their fries and coleslaw were pretty standard, and although it wasn't super expensive, I still expected a bit better for what I paid. All in all, I probably won't be coming back here anytime soon.

ehhh to say the least!!!! Food was terrible and the experience was rather worse. Had this red head girl wait on me and my husband, she was rude, unprofessional, and looked like she may have been drunk. Manager doesn't know but she even rang the bill up wrong, which I think was on purpose, so she could pocket extra change. Acted as if we didn't know the prices. My husband and me didn't want to make a scene but they need to do a better job hiring these servers. We will never go to this place again because of that treatment, so they can thank that red headed girl.

A very pleasant surprise in Laval! The restaurant has a beautiful decor. The waiter was very friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. The clam chowder was very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend!

My coworkers and I stopped in here after a late night at work. We picked this place because it was one of the few places in Laval still open after 10 on a middle-of-the-week weeknight. The place was empty which wasn't a surprise at that hour. We ordered a bottle of wine to start and a mixed seafood plate appetizer. The wine was excellent and the seafood was average. I ordered the Prime Roast Beef medium rare for dinner and it was outstanding. I didn't even need to use my knife; it was so tender I was able to cut it with my fork. The service was very good throughout, but they did take a very long time to bring us our checks. I'm not sure if it's because we were expected to ask for it, but it was at least 15 minutes past closing by the time they brought it. This is not the type of place I would typically visit on my own dime, but I would happily return while traveling for work. I would likely try a few other restaurants in the area before returning though.

Absolutely horrible food. 2 drinks, 1 bottle of wine , 2 appetizers, 2 steaks $300 tip included (15%). The appetizer , octopus supposedly grilled, was cold straight from the fridge. The steak was ordered Medium, arrived well done. The salad had no dressing in the middle, to say that the place was busy I would understand but there were 4 customers in the place . The waiter saw that I had not eaten the salad, he also saw that we both had not eaten the steaks and didn't even bother to ask anything. I guess they wanted to close. I felt like I threw $300 in the garbage. I went home and made myself a sandwich because I was hungry.

Sterlings is one of my favourite restaurants. They food here is pretty good! Mash potatoes here are really tasty! The decor inside is to my liking ,but the lighting is a little dark. The prices are a little expensive but I think it is worth it!

Oh boy, buckle your seat-belts and grab the popcorn because this is going to be good (I'm also going to tally up every issue I found with this place) Firstly, I want to point out that I came here with my Father because he received a $100 gift certificate from a good friend of the owner. Wouldn't have ventured out off the island for this but hey, what the heck basically a free meal. Anyways, my dad and I drove out parked and were seated outside (was a nice day out so why not!). However, we were seated to an empty table, not that if of a dead not like we're eating right away. We get the menus and order (grilled Octopus app, Scallops app, Rib-Eye bone in 18oz rare and pan seared tuna main) right off the bat that's a $100 plus meal for only two, anywhere else the server assigned to your table would want to be as quick and efficient as possible so they could get the biggest tip possible. We order and wait 5 minutes for and the bread basket, notice how I only say bread basket and not anything else* Secondly, we still hadn't gotten cutlery, napkins, water or bread plate*. If you seat guests and an empty table this should be your first priority before you even bring out something like a bread basket, bread isn't a priority but cutlery and napkins are! We waited about 20 for the appetizers which is long but at $18 each I doubt the kitchen can pump them out crazy quick so not complaining about that. Our Waitress brings us the appetizers (still no cutlery) before she leaves we asked her if she noticed anything missing on the table. Dumbfounded, she says she doesn't notice anything missing until my dad points out that all we have is a bread basket, no cutlery, napkins or water. She runs off for 3 minutes to get the cutlery and napkins and then another 5 for the water*. The appetizers themselves? They weren't too bad the octopus was the better of the two, well cooked and served with julienned red onion, micro greens capers and diced tomato. Pretty good but not $18 good. The scallops were pan seared and plated on spinach and a pretty good quality olive oil. However the flavour from the scallops weren't there (they were probably frozen ones). Then, the mains... We waited 30 minutes for the wrong meals. My dad was given a pasta dish and I was given a filet mignon. We told the server right away that this was not ours, he apologized and went to give it to the right table. We waited another 25 minutes for our mains. Once they did arrive our original waitress put them down quickly and was about to rush away (this is a big no-no for any steakhouse, you wait till the customer cuts through the centre of their steak to check if it is cooked to their liking)*. Luckily it looked rare. Upon closer inspection the centre was rare, but there was a good border of 0.25cm-0.5cm of well done meat on a steak that should be cooked rare. It looked as if the new guy with no grilling experience did the cooking*. The steak was also pretty tough not too enjoyable and it wasn't seasoned properly, it was covered in steak spice and completed masks whatever flavour the meat had (it was also supposed to be dry ages)*. Whatever good nuty, funky flavour that could've been there from the dry aging process was lost to the spice. All it needed was some salt and pepper, nothing else. The Tuna was mediocre, the sesame seeds that coated the tuna were all burnt and ruined the taste of the tuna*, it was a shame because it had a nice thin sear on it. Also for a main, the slices were very small, about 1-2cm in thickness and there was only 6 of them*. We were so turned off by the whole experience so far that we decided to skip on coffee and dessert for save ourselves from further disappointment and long wait times. All in all this place is a joke of a steakhouse and the staff need some urgent training to learn how to properly serve customers and cook dishes. The damage? For one meal for two with no wine it came to $124 after tax. There were a total of 7 major issues during the course of our dinner. Really not impressed and very glad we had the gift certificate because there's no way that meal was worth $124

I had the filet mignon medium rare and it was burnt on the outside. Not charred, burnt. My boyfriend had the burger and the meat was completely burnt and dry all the way through. Our fries were cold and under seasoned. We waited almost an hour for our table and then 20 minutes to be served. The service was horrible and I would not come back.

Horrible service!! We were there for a birthday supper. We were all in a good mood and the waitress managed to change all of that. The arctic was warmer than her personality! The rib steak was completely tasteless for the inflated price that they charge. The crab cakes(2) were smaller than a toddlers hands and again lacking taste. I should have never tipped her 17%. She didn't even thank me. Very very rude. I'm pretty sure that if I hadn't tipped her, I would have gotten the same reaction out of her! Do yourselves a favour and do not spend a penny there. Not worth it! We had a choice between The Keg and Sterlings.... what a bad choice we made!

AMAZING service and the food was nothing less than perfect! The price was reasonable for the service and the food. I would most definitely recommend this place and looking forward to my next visit.

Nice food, good flavours, well prepared and presented , generous portion, took the tuna salad and did not regret it. Wide selection wine. Professional service. Clean and quite restaurant, not well suited for kids but rather friend gathering, business lunches, prices are 30-40$ per person even with the lunch menu but thats ok fir this category if restaurants. Would definitely come back again.

Food was very basic very expensive no jazz to it . The owner or who ever stares at you and never says hi or thank you . There are holes in the wall that seem to stay and are neglected I had drywall dust fall in my soup. very unhappy!

Please don't ever eat here for your own personal health and safety! I came here for dinner with my boyfriend and we had a horrific experience. Our waitress did not speak one word of English and was extremely rude to us once she discovered we were Anglophone, the food quality was below average (the crab cakes) especially for the prices and finally the most DISTURBING part was finding a piece of GLASS in my burger meat! I took one bite of my food and instantly felt a sharp piece of broken glass in my mouth. I was terrified. Clearly someone in the kitchen broke something near the serving area and rather than throwing away the food, someone made the disturbing decision to serve it to paying customers. I was sickened and completely disgusted. The manager was apologetic and acknowledged the issue, he seemed embarrassed and offered to give us dessert or replace the meal, however we had already been so shaken up by the event that we decided to leave. The manager understood and told us we did not have to pay for our meals. Oh and the best part was when we decided to leave the restaurant because we had had enough after speaking to the manager and he comp'd our bill, the horrible waitress tried to accuse us of dining and dashing because she did not communicate with him or us ONCE throughout the entirety of our meal. This was laughable, offensive and an embarrassing way to treat clients who have already been completely turned off by your business. They should be humiliated by their service and the staff that the hire and by the way it is a basic skill in Quebec to communicate bilingual and serve clients in both French and English, just as I do at my job and everyone else in this city does! Be very careful going to Sterlings! I never would have expected to have this experience seeing as the reviews were fairly decent however, they clearly do not follow health and safety basic precautions and you will be very disappointed.

We came here for my sister's bachelorette dinner at 6.30 on Saturday. The service was unpleasant and slow. When the food came, there was no steak knives placed for us, I personally dislike it. I ordered medium rare t-bone steak and it turned out dry and burnt. The seasoning is bland even the sautéed mushrooms.

We made reservations for NYE, we had mentioned that we wanted to be out of the restaurant by 11; we had reserved the private room. Our initial reservations were at 9 but they called us and told us to come at 830. We were there on time, all 26 of us. They told us their kitchen was backed up so our reservation would be delayed. We only got our table at 930. Best part, for 26 ppl only 1 bus boy was setting the table, we started to help him because so it could go faster. They were extremely short staff on NYE!! Once were finally seated at 10 they gave us about 10 menus, (in French) which we had to share with the person sitting next to us. They brought us more menus when every one was ready to order! While we're sitting they realize they need their wooden table, so they come take it (we are all seated at this point) and they change it for a plastic one and put a table cloth. For 26 ppl we had 1 waiter taking our order, my mom had to go complain and they sent another waiter. We got our food at 11:15, the food was good, no one had any complains about their meal. By the time we got our bill, we were out of there by 12:15. (We seriously asked for the bill as soon as we got our food!) We were extremely disappointed with the way things turned out. The manager knew we were upset and didn't even bother to offer us some champagne at midnight or dessert on the house. I don't care what it was, just something to say sorry, because things happen sometimes but there was no acknowledgement of the terrible service we got. The hostess was so nice throughout the whole night and she is the one who apologized. Because of our experience and disappointment with this restaurant we will never go back.
