"Tucked away in a residential area at a remove from the tourist trail, this restaurant is well worth the detour. In keeping with its charming traditional decor – the floorboards, wooden panelling on the walls and high ceilings evoke the atmosphere of an old-style Viennese inn – it proposes straightforward and delicious regional cuisine, which is popular with locals too. In addition to classic dishes such as Wiener schnitzel, offal and game take pride of place on the menu – the chef is a keen hunter himself. Check out the "Stern im Glas" range for delicious options to enjoy at home." - Michelin Inspector

hands down one of the best in town. from the delicious soup with the liver knödel, the perfectly cooked sweetbreads, the tongue that was succulent and well seasoned, to one of the best wiener schnitzels in the city. there not a thing amiss in the several dishes we tried. the service was spot on with the chef suggesting the sequence of dishes, portioning single dishes to be shared between the two of us, and for the overall friendliness of the place. in terms of the ambience, it is quaint and rustic but adds a charm to the experience. being not located in downtown, one must make an effort and have a reservation when visiting this restaurant, but it is absolutely 100% worth it.

Simply perfect. I went with a friend who also likes offal with the idea of trying traditional and not that well-known Viennese cuisine. The experience was astonishing. We took the tasting menu to share + one extra dish. Simply great. We have tried brain, sweetbreads, liver (my favourite, so so good and tasty, the sauce was spectacular). Service was awesome too. The waitress gave us very good recommendations, timing was perfect, a permanent smile (which isn't common in Austria). I'll definitely come back with brave friends who like offal like me!!

We visited the place in February of this year, it was a great success. The food is typical Austrian and everything was very delicious, the quantity of the dishes is abundant. The treatment was very close and friendly at all times, the chef helped us choose the dishes and explained each one of them to us. The place we chose was very cozy and quiet. We will definitely return, highly recommended.

I can't deny Restaurant Stern my 5 stars. The food is superb (I am a sucker for Beuschel), the place is cosy and friendly. We were surprised they do not have dessert, at least it is not on the menu and nobody offered it to us. Also I would have loved to see the wine menu, but that also did not appear at our table. Please take the feedback as a friendly suggestion from a customer who will definitely come back.

At first glance, this is a traditional Austrian unremarkable interior. However, when it comes to the kitchen, it is an absolute delight! This is the best Wiener schnitzel I've ever tasted! Delicious escargot snails. Tender mussels, the taste of which is emphasized by the sauce. Extremely good wine. Everything is very delicious! The main courses were served to us by the chef himself. It is very lovely. I recommend this restaurant to everyone I know.

The food was ok! My husband’s portion of goose looked more like a chicken and my venison burger with mashed potatoe at 36 euros overpriced for what it was. The most disappointing experience was that we brought a magnum of rare barolo wine with us to enjoy with our meal. The owner partly decanted it for us, poured the 3 of us a glass each and when we offered him a glass to try, returned a while later with an empty decanter having shared it all out with a neighbouring table! Considering the bottle is posting today on the web at over 650 euros, an outrageous cheek! Parking in the area almost impossible. We will not return.

The menu we recieved is a shorter one, like the ones listed here on google. But what is more strange: we saw the more pages menu at the next table, and i ordered something not present in the short menu (i read it from here from the google photos) and they served us with that meal without any comment. It would be interesting to know the reasons...
