Steve's BBQ

I'm obsessed with Steve's BBQ after my first visit! My boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday here, and it exceeded our high expectations. We ordered: - Baby back and beef ribs - Pork belly nachos - Smoked BBQ brisket The standout dish was the smoked BBQ brisket - incredibly juicy and buttery! The pork belly nachos were a close second. The price, reservation process, and drive were well worth it. I'm already planning to return for my own birthday! The staff and kitchen clearly prioritize quality and hospitality. :)

This place was listed on one of mist fry BBQ place. Pretty nice and cozy place. We had the beef brisket, 1/2 baby back ribs, loaded potatoes, pork belly tacos. The brisket was very tasty and tender while the baby back was a bit tough. The pork belly taco was very tasty. Too much jalapeños but it was good. We also had fried ice cream and the bourbon bread pudding and that was excellent! The services could use some improvements. Food and desserts were served but there was no silverware. Took more than 5 min. To get the utensils plus we weren’t finish eating yet and they are ready to take our plate away without asking if we were done.

What a delicious surprise! My family went and ordered the sampler plate and some drinks. As 4 big eaters, the sampler plate is more than enough! For sides we had the mac & cheese, coleslaw, and baked beans. Everything was tasty. The best meat was the beef ribs and the chicken! The chicken was perfectly fall off the bone.

My family and I went to have a fun day out and decided to try a new place to eat. After reading the menu at Steve's BBQ we all voted to give it a try, and I was so happy that we did! The atmosphere was nice and the place was very clean. It was nice to be able to navigate with ease, and not having to do great heroic feats to get to our table.♿ The staff is super friendly and have a great insight into the menu. We got the sampler platter for our family of 4 ( have 3 people with rather mega appetites). I have to say we were not disappointed! The sides of Yams fries, greens and mac & cheese were super delicious. The pulled pork nacho is gigantic and a super deal for the amount of food on the plate. Heck, all the portions are very hearty indeed. Bread pudding is a must! If you like leaded drinks ( adult beverages) they have some super tasty ones, since all the simple syrups and other ingredients are made fresh in house. We will definitely be back, and bring more friends along for a fabulous feast. I am also Wheelchair Friendly♿

Food was delicious and it was very obvious that everything was freshly made from scratch. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich, loaded potatoes were to die for, mozzarella sticks with sprinkled Parmesan , bbq pulled pork sandwich with a side of mash and slaw and fish and chips. You can taste the airy clean crunch from the chicken sandwich. We topped our dinner off with the homemade peach cobbler and ice cream which was a great way to end our meal. Service was spectacular! Nothing more we can ask for. We will definitely be back again.

I came in here to take my mother out for mother’s day tonight and as it says online that it is a reservation restaurant. We were enjoying our food and suddenly two teenage girls that were let in by one of the female hostesses in the front with converse on started shooting me and my mother with water guns and caused a scene and left the place after. We did enjoy our food until this happened and we were under the impression from the website that it was reserved only and not just anyone can walk in like that.This ruined my night out with my mom on the one day it was supposed to respect her as a mother the most.

Food came in to our bellies real fast maybe the fact that it wasn't that busy had to do. Price is above average for BBQ and it's quality. Their garlic bread is delicious and the atmosphere not too loud. Their sauce if not that exiting but not bad as well.

First time coming here to actually eat after living in Whittier for 2 decades. I usually have only come here for drinks. We were seated at waited 10 minutes until I had to flag down a waiter to attend to us. We ordered drinks. The blueberry bourbon mash is quite delicious. The guac burger was worth the hype. It was delicious. And so was the Mac and cheese. From what I was told, the brisket sandwich was also delicious. The loaded potatoes were a little undercooked, and a but hard on the inside. Overall I'd come again.

Fantastic spot. Went on Friday night and was lucky enough to get a table. From the time we approached the store the staff was friendly and helpful. Our party of 8 was quickly sat down. The waiter was great going on the menu since we were all first-timers. From the appetizers to the main dishes everything that was ordered to the table was great. The portion sizes were very big. The also have a full bar. Most try spot if looking for good BBQ in the area.

I had no idea the food was going to be this good!! Our server, Sabrina was so attentive and had such a great personality. The prices were fitting for the portion sizes I definitely recommend the Mac and cheese with the pork belly and the brisket tacos. I will be visiting again, soon. ​

I've lived in Whittier for close to 20 years and this was our first time at Steve's BBQ. From the moment we stepped through the doors we were greeted by an incredible hostess whose warm and accommodation set the tone for a great dining experience. The ambiance is lovely, bustling, and decor surprisingly esthetically pleasing. Our server was polite, friendly, attentive, and had great knowledge of the menu that added another layer of enjoyment to the evening. Now for the food, each dish we ordered was a masterpiece with a perfect blends of flavors and textures that showcased the restuarant's commitment to high quality cuisine. In conclusion, Steve's BBQ is a Whittier iconic gem and happening dining destination with sleek settings and great crafted cocktails. It succeeded our expectations of not only satisfying our palates but leaving a lasting impression of a great dinning experience. We'll definitely be back!!

Absolutely delicious food! Service was also great and the vibes in the restaurant are so classy. I will definitely be coming again!

Wanted to like this place so bad but the food just wasn't it. Service was great. It's a small place but the staff is attentive and friendly. BBQ was more fatty than what we're used to and the seasoning was just ok. The steamed veggies tasted like cafeteria food and had no seasoning whatsoever. Prices were way higher than we expected and we only got 2 dishes. I'd love to see some improvement on the food because the place itself was fine.

The service was excellent. The waitress kept coming by asking if I needed anything. I ordered the baby back ribs with mash and corn on the cob. The food was good. I'm not an expert in rating ribs so it wouldn't be fair for me to rate them on that. I had a hard time finding parking, almost got discouraged and left.

First time eating here, and we ordered togo. We ordered the chili verde fries and the Tri tip sandwich with a potato salad. Omg everything was amazing! Definitely coming back, I can't believe I never knew this place was here!?! Very flavorful, nothing overcooked or dry. Bread soft and crunchy, not soggy from the meat, and yet the meat had sauce on it, plus extra on the side. Best potato salad I've ever eaten- so creamy. Yum!

First time visit. I couldn't get enough of it! The meat was juicy, tender and full of flavor. I liked it because it wasn't drenched in sauce, the flavor of the meat was perfect. And the sweet potato fries were like steak fries, we were given a generous amount. And I had a huge baked potato, baked perfection. And we had a mango alcoholic beverage. The aesthetics of the place was well done! It looked upscale with low lighting, and the interior lighting was excellent. The service was spot on , very attentive despite the restaurant being packed during the week. We were served bread - it was regular bread but it was seasoned well Located in uptown Whittier that has a parking structure nearby or parking along the street

We ordered take out ordered online kinda easy to order. About 25 min wait. Went to receive package up order, I'm glad we weren't too far away. They gave us our order with no napkins or silverware (I get youight have to ask nowadays but we weren't asked either.) at least put a napkin. Little deets mean alot. I ordered the sliders, they were good just overcooked the flavor was good. Also ordered the loaded potatoes. They were nicely fried maybe a bit battered. with light toppings but overall Delish. Thoughts about returning maybe, since bbq is their thing I want to give it a shot. Thanks see you soon.

This barbecue was awesome, The service was quick. The ambeyonce was terrific, and needless to say that my burger with onion rings and that great Mac and cheese was bomb. It won't. Disappoint.

The service was really good and the food was excellent! I would go back again. The atmosphere was good. My girls liked the mozzarella cheese sticks.

First, lemme say I've been following them on IG for about a year and have been dying to try their food. I made reservations on Yelp, but didn't really need to because they weren't that busy. Came on a Saturday evening with a 7:15 reservation. I wanted to try everything but settled on the BBQ Grilled Cheese w/brisket and the collard greens. LEMME TELL YALL ABOUT THESE GREENS!!! THEY WERE AMAZING!! I ate them ALL before I even touched the sandwich. I'd come back for the greens alone! My husband had a 2 meat combo (chicken and TriTip with greens and potato salad) and had a couple of Long Islands and said the drinks were GOOD and strong! Overall it was a solid meal (that neither of us could finish) as I was full to my eyebrows! It's a cute spot...we'll be back for sure! Looks like it's good for groups too...

This was our first time trying this place but our friends are regulars. Now I know why! The food is so delicious. The collard greens were really good and the brisket was delicious. The ribs fell off the bone and were excellent. The lavender lemonade was worth the money. Strong but not overpowering. Very refreshing! Will definitely be back.

The food was AMAZING! The customer service was just as amazing as the food. We were seated right away, and our drink order was taken. It was our 1st time there, and we ordered the 3 meat to share. Baby back ribs, pork belly, & tir-tip were freaking DELICIOUS. We also had the loaded mashed potatoes and mac & cheese they were yummy. The restaurant was lightly dimmed and great music. I will definitely go back.

The food was very good. Meatcookes to perfection with the right amount of seasonings. We had the 3 meat section with greens and mac. Baaabbby!! Those greens!!! . I also fell in love with the brisket. The dessert was good. Hubby loved the bread pudding, and I got the peach cobbler to go. My gbaby got ribs and fries... our first time and definitely not the last!!! Josh and Eric were the best waiters ever. Fo check them out . They won't disappoint .

Saw this place on instagram so my family and I decided to try it out.... My only regret was not finding it sooner!!! The food was magnificent! There is not one complaint that I had. The portions were more than plenty, the flavor was spot on, the staff was attentive and offered great suggestions, the restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was great! We will definitely be back!

The thing about Steve's, it's a family favorite and a Whittier staple. Between to-go orders for family gatherings or a visit to their restaurant, we have always shown support. This time, I ordered some brisket with mac n cheese. My partner ordered a burger which looked and smelled delicious. We both had a cocktail. Important note- Happy Hour is all day on Weds and Thurs. The interior was nice and made for a great date night atmosphere. Our server was friendly, quick and helpful when suggesting drinks. If you are craving good, homestyle BBQ, stop by and show them some love. Even if you're not, there's something on the menu for every taste.

Host was not accommodating even with an empty dining room. Server was pleasant and quick with refills. Food was hot. Best thing were the sliders. Peach cobbler pie crust was not baked completely. That bark was amazing. Nice fatty and lean pieces.

Wedding Catering: Five Stars all around for Steve's BBQ!! Steve's has always been our go-to date spot so when it came down to planning our wedding, they were our first choice for dinner. From start to finish the experience was hands down AMAZING!! Josh is so easy to work with and literally offered everything under the sun. He is very organized and takes detailed notes. My husband and I were also very surprised to learn that they were able to offer more than just BBQ items for the menu. Everything at our tasting was delicious!! It was hard to pin down our choices but once we did we knew we had something for everyone. Our menu was as follows... Appetizers: Bruschetta, Hot Links & the most delicious Crab Cakes you've ever had!! Dinner: Baby Back Ribs, Chicken, Mac & Cheese (a total no brainer since it's our favorite), Collard Greens & dinner rolls. They also provided a BBQ style veggie option for a friend of ours. She said portobello mushroom never tasted so good! Steve's BBQ was a full service operation, they provided the disposable plates and rolled flatware. Offered tray pass service for cocktail hour and even bussed after dinner. My wedding planner had nothing but positive feedback to provide as well. Overall, my husband and I are so happy we were able to have Josh, Eric and the Steve's BBQ team as part of our special day. This restaurant already held a special place in our hearts but now it's forever part of our love story. THANK YOU STEVE'S BBQ!! WE LOVE YOU!!

The food was superb cooked to perfection we absolutely loved it. Everyone was so nice and pleasant we will definitely be getting food again from Steve's. Also the ambience was very nice it wasn't to busy when my daughter and I picked up our to go order. But I can definitely see Steve's getting packed on a regular basis because the food and the service like I said is awesome.

I got the beef ribs and baby back ribs combo! Sides were great, not pictured here but got mac n cheese and potato salad were my fave! It's a cool date night spot!

Steve's never disappoints! We haven't been here in awhile but had a craving for barbecue and we decided to visit again, so also updating my review. They are still our favorite restaurant in Whittier! We went on a Friday night and we were seated quickly. We ordered the baby back ribs with coleslaw and fries, adding some beef brisket as well. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The ribs and the brisket were tender, moist, and very flavorful, especially the brisket. For dessert, we like their bread pudding, with its perfect amount of sweetness. The customer service was amazing as well. Our server was very friendly and attentive, refilling our drinks quickly, offering us extra barbecue sauce, and ranch/ketchup. The place is very clean too, which is a huge plus. We will definitely be back!

Fist time here and I enjoyed it. The service was great. Very helpful and brought our drinks and food quickly. We just came for drinks and they didn't disappoint. A bit pricey but they do the job. We only tried a few items. We had the Loaded Potatoes and the pork belly sliders. Both were amazing. I have to come back and try Their main dishes. Good music playing in the background as well.

BBQ was delicious, but the coleslaw and peach cobbler are must tries. Eric our serve provided excellent service and patient with our little ones. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual.

Downtown Whittier is a perfect nightlife. Dinner, walking,food ,drinks,hotshots, and music. Steve's BBQ, is the sweet spot for us. The pricing is workable. The drinks hithard. We hard the build your own platter.

I've enjoyed Steve's for a couple of years now but today's experience left me worried and bothered. My brother ordered the 3 meat plate. He asked for chicken as one of the options but was given ribs. He told our server and she came back with a fork and plate , removed the meat from the plate my brother was eating off of, and took it back. The thought that someone else might've gotten that piece of meat ruined our dinner. Very weird to do. Can't say we'll be back.

Our server was very accommodating of our one year old and was kind in helping us microwave our baby food. As for the food, I was sadly disappointed because the posts on Instagram look amazing!!! I was first surprised by the delicious bread (8/10). The ribs were one of the first I've ever had.. it's quite difficult to mess up ribs so it was disappointing for me 3/10. The bbq beans and veggies were fine 6.5/10. The fries were the saddest part because I'm a huge fan of fries. They were hard on the outside and dry on the inside, which is a horrible combination. I believe they were old and refried several times before they were served to me. I still ate them because I'm a fry lover, so 2/10. The brisket was not the best, but it was solid, most parts were pretty tender and juicy and on point with the flavor 8/10. Finally the best for last is Mac and cheese 8/10, great flavor and texture. If I come back I would prob get the brisket and Mac and cheese but also I'd like to try the burgers. In summary, I liked the bread, Mac, and brisket most. They really need to do ribs and fried better because those are usually safe and hard to mess up.

Man, I have been here twice now and we came just for the chili verde fries! Amazing! Cant get enough! A must try for anyone looking for a snack type of meal.

Came here to celebrate my brother's birthday. We were seated pretty quickly, faster than my reservation time! We ordered the sampler. The food was so delicious! I've never liked ribs but this place has the most tenderized ribs I've ever had! The service was impeccable! Eric was our server and he was very polite and attentive to what our table needed. The drinks were pretty good, I ordered the Moscow mule, brother had the blueberry bourbon smash and my mom had the pineapple vodka, everyone enjoyed the drinks. The ambiance was relaxed with good music playing. 10/10 would come back again!

They were pretty busy for a Friday night, but we were able to get a seat at the bar. We sat and ordered beers and received a friendly smile from Josh right away. After sitting there a bit (like 5 min) and ordering our food, watching him make all the margaritas I had to have one. Watermelon Basil was the winner. So yummy and refreshing. Then our food came out. We ordered the 2 meat dinner with 2 sides and bread. We got the beef ribs and brisket for $4.00 more. Let me tell you. I normally am not a brisket fan. This brisket was amazing. The ribs weren't fall of the bone but the perfect amount of cut off the bone you can ask for. All bbq sauce made in house, and it tasted like it was made with love. After chatting it up with Josh he said they were a family owned business and had been around for about 23 years. You can tell they were such an amazing family by the work ethic and the service they provided. I left there not only loving the food but knowing I will be back again and again. Thank you so much. Sorry no pictures I was enjoying my night.

The food overall is great! My favorite was the baby back ribs. The only downside in my opinion was that one of the staff in charge of seating seemed a bit rude (reason for the 4 stars), but the rest of the staff was wonderful!

My husband and I decided to give Steve's BBQ a try for one of our date nights. From the moment we walked in the host was kind. Our server was extremely attentive and also really sweet as well as the rest of the wait staff who brought us our food. The food is amazing. We tried the ribs, tri-tip, brisket and hot links 10/10. The brisket is so flavorful and soft. Their potato salad and Mac & cheese were also delicious. Their margaritas might be top 5 margaritas I've ever had in my life! Cant wait to visit again.​

The best of the best. So much, ill make the drive to it, when i have 3 spots near me. Got hooked when my fiance and i went for the first time. I always get the brisket, tri tip, beans and fries. Every time is perfect. My fiance loves the margaritas and mac n cheese... that says a lot, because shes really picky about her mac n cheese. Service is always great. Youre not left there waiting like other restaurants do. Highly recommend it!

Drove half an hour to the location only to be told they have 3 meat options available as they were sold out. These things happen but the service staff couldn't readily tell me which 3 meat options they have left... Just a general lack of awareness

i always try to be fair when writing a review so with that being said, i think 4/5 stars is as accurate as can be. the prices are more on the higher side in my opinion but the quality is good as there are not any other good bbq spots in whittier (in my opinion) vs. chris & pitts. The portions are big and the vibe is right. I ordered to go but i've dined in previously.

A rare craving for ribs brought me here. Cozy little restaurant with a full bar and plenty of bbq to choose from. The service was prompt and professional. Our server made sure we had everything we needed. We ordered a few items. The mc n cheese were a big hit. I ordered beef ribs. A bit pricey at $43 for half slab. They lacked flavor and spices. Wasn't what I expected. The corn was very good though. Also sampled a baked potato and mashed potatoes. Both were impressive. Tried half of a tri-tip sandwich and it was good. Our child enjoyed her fried chicken sandwich. My personal favorite was the hot links. Well cooked and very tasty. We ended our lunch with dessert. Their apple crisp was a hit. Also drank a couple pilsners. Overall

We LOVE Steve's! My dude introduced us to this spot as he found it on Instagram. I'm always up to try food especially if it's a GOOD MEAL presented. The FOOD..the service and the ambiance is just right. Ultimately the FOOD is what keeps us going back. Here are our faves: My dude LOVES the Baby Ribs and the LOADED BBQ Mac'n'cheez. My daughter LOVES the BBQ Brisket Grilled Cheese sandwich...it's EXTRA cheesy (Jack and Cheddar Cheese) and piled up high with brisket, onions, roasted tomato all stacked in between sourdough toast. As for me, I LOVE the BBQ Brisket, the collard greens which have a different kick to them and can't be compared to Big Mama's but they are GOOD and a must've for me every visit. The BBQ Mac'n'cheez is a fave as well as the BBQ Baked Beans, hey I LOVE to have a perfect combo of sides with a slice of garlic cheese bread to top it off. The ambiance is cool, chill and mellow not noise at all.

Great food. We had the wings, the pork fries, the sliders, the mozzarella sticks, mashed potatoes and gravy, and the half ribs. Everything was great except Mozzarella sticks which were good. We especially enjoyed the wings and ribs. Drinks were also very good. We had several of their house cocktails and thought their espresso martini is one of the best around. Service was nice and friendly. Ambience is very nice and clean. Will definitely be back soon.

Erick was our server and he did fantastic. The brisket nachos were awesome. I think the favorite dish of the night was the Chile Verde fries. Would definitely go back.

This has quickly become our new favorite spot, delicious cocktails and food! Try the wings, yum! Chili verde fries are fantastic and the baby back ribs...drooling already. Family owned, Josh and Sabrina are so welcoming, service is always 100%. Favorite drink: Espresso Martini!!

Everything was delicious. Started with the mango collada so fresh and good. Pulled pork, brisket and tri tip sandwiches all thumbs up. The ribs were the star of course. Sides can't be left out, all stellar, potato salad, coleslaw, sweet potato and regular fries. We'll be back and soon!
