Yelp
So disappointed! Usually, I'm steered in the right direction by Yelpers, but have to disagree on this one. It has a solid 4 stars, so we went for a fast dinner. But beware of some things that weren't said. First if all, the place is dirty & unwelcoming. There are two windows and two menus on the wall. You One menu & window is to order steak sandwiches, hoagies, & burgers. Plus extras - different cheese other than American or 'Wiz. There are tiny instructions on "how to order". I was reminded of the Seinfeld episode with the 'Soup Nazi'! Then you must go to the other window to order fries, drinks etc.
Then the biggest problems start with the food. You are handed a 10-12 inch hoagie roll on a single paper plate with a few sheets of sandwich paper under it. They only have plastic forks! The meat, though flavorful ribeye, is hand cut, in house, daily.
But, & here's the sad part, it was cut way too thick & grilled too long. So tough & greasy! We had ordered one pizza steak, with provolone, pizza sauce & fried onions, & with extra meat since reviewers griped about the small amount of meat on the sandwich, & we were sharing.
What we got was a wet soggy roll with tough thick slices of steak, some clumps of melted cheese, & some red sauce that didn't resemble or taste like pizza sauce & sautéed onions. It was larger than the single paper plate & they had no knife to cut the meat & eat the sandwich. It was a messy plate and not really worth the effort. The fries, if I must admit, were a huge quantity and well done as requested. But again, the portion flowed over the little basket & we had a mess of loose french fries on paper sheets. You had to take your french fries to the seasoning area, where they had thin cut pickles, a variety of hot peppers, relish & spices. But the mustard & ketchup were in huge vessels with push levers to dispense the accompaniments.
So sorry this was such a missed opportunity.
