"Steve’s Prince of Steaks in Langhorne puts cheesesteaks at the forefront of its food offerings, serving up both beef and chicken steak sandwiches. Order an original cheesesteak with an impressive amount of meat or make it extra large with the double-meat option, with or without onions, and prepared with American or Whiz cheese." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

Google
I stopped by Steve’s Prince of Steaks while in the area for work, and it did not disappoint! I got a cheesesteak with Cheese Whiz, and it was absolutely amazing—perfectly cheesy and packed with flavor. The spicy fries were a great addition, crispy with just the right amount of kick. The service was quick and friendly, and the food definitely lived up to the hype. I’d absolutely return if I’m ever in the area again. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re craving an authentic, delicious Philly cheesesteak!

Google
I admire Steve's because they are who they are. They're a greasy spoon, no nonsense cheese steak shop. It's straightforward, and I love it. I think the issue with most places is that they diversify themselves into irrelevance. Not here. They do what they do, and they do it well. Personally, I think their chicken cheese steak is the best in business. Best roll I've had in a long time. 👌🏻 Do: Get the whiz. Get the cherry soda. And enjoy hanging out and chowing down. Dont: Expect sophisticated, because honestly, in terms of a good sandwich, it doesn't mean delicious. Just trust their process!

Google
Great tasting cheesesteak with no frills and away from the city crowds. I usually like chopped, but the beef was high quality and flavorful. Would go back if in area.

Google
Just as usual... Steve's never disappoints, when you wake up and start craving for a cheesesteak... There's only one place to go. (Although they have multiple locations.) I've been a Loyal Patron for over 20 years.

Google
I working in this area temporarily and a coworker recommended Steve's Prince of Steaks as one of the excellent cheesesteaks. Ordering ahead was easy and pickup was painless. I agree, the cheesesteak was super delicious. Great roll, great taste. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Google
Where’s the beef? This place is constantly pathetic with their portions for what they charge. They ride the coattails of their reputation from when they used to be good, now all they serve is overcooked dry garbage and charge you an arm and a leg for it. Want a good cheesesteak in this area? Go to curlys or gleasons.

Google
This is my first time ever eating there I was up actually in Philadelphia for an event and I was told that the food was very good. It was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing very polite very clean and even offered me some things that I would might like which I did purchase I would recommend this to anybody

Google
AMAZING CHEESE STEAKS! This was my first time having 'sliced' cheese steak. It was phenomenal! The bread was perfect... Soft and chewy with a crispy crust. Some places you go to is nothing but bread. But the rolls Steve's Prince of Steak uses were just the right size. Many choices of fresh melted cheese.... Right up my alley! Everyone who worked there was super friendly. And I want to point out, that when I made a mistake on my order... It was perfectly fine. I wasn't yelled at like some of the other cheese steak joints. If you haven't tried Steve's Prince of Steaks... Your definitely missing out. I know I was... until yesterday. ***Update*** I just went back again today! Had the same awesome experience during a packed lunch hour. None of the staff seemed stressed out and everyone was pleasant. The one guy was eager to cut my cherry pepper for me! Amazing customer service... Especially from a cheesesteak place ;~)

Yelp
Love this place, been going here since it opened. I have never had a bad steak. The recent addition of Cooper Sharp has really upped their game, although Whiz has always been my go to choice.

David M.

Yelp
Steve's Prince does a great Philly Cheesesteak with all of your traditional options to make your sandwich. I personally go with the cooper sharp over the whiz. They do a sliced beef over the chopped style. The meat was a little dry to me and is cheaper than some of the other establishments around town. Service was quick and great and they don't have any issues handling a large amount of people when the line gets backed up. A great spot to get a Philly cheesesteak and other items like hoagies and fries.

William B.

Yelp
Let me start by saying Steve's is one of my favorite steaks.....the last couple times here have been blah to say the least I got wiz with my wife wiz without....light meat light cheese and a couple onions on mine.....My wife thought there was no cheese at all on hers.... Meat was kinda dry. Probably won't be back for a while.

Gunnar G.

Yelp
I'm very upset tbh. Steve's was my spot. I mean it will still be my spot. But when my flight landed at 1am I always knew I could count on Steve's. After a long night in the city, I knew I could count on Steve's. Tonight I counted on Steve's... but they fouled me. I'm upset. But ig Steve's is falling victim to the times... sad. Ig I'll settle for Wawa

Christopher M.

Yelp
I traveled to Sesame Place in the area with my family from Va, and stumbled on Steve's. I can't say if it was an authentic "Philly cheesesteak or not, but I can say it was delicious. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The food came out fast and the price was reasonable.

Storm C.

Yelp
We stopped here after seeing that horribly underwhelming movie Cuckoo and wanted something quick to eat. I appreciated their late night hours. I ordered the chicken cheesesteak with whiz and cheese and sweet peppers, and my man ordered the pizza steak. They neglected to actually give him a pizza steak and gave him a regular one instead with whiz and cheese. He said he wasn't even mad about the missing pizza aspect because the cheese made up for it. Me being a Taurus foodie, that seemed unacceptable to me, but whatever... it's his mouth lol. My chicken cheesesteak did not excite my tastebuds. It was just okay. The whiz and cheese were super inconsistent throughout the sandwich and the meat was dry as a nun's you know what. I've had wayyyy better chicken cheesesteaks. For their price, you would think you would get an exceptional sandwich. Nope. 3 stars for an okay sandwich to fill you up and late night convenience.

Roger B.

Yelp
Stopped on the way to Sesame Place (it's 6 minutes away). Very happy we did. Steaks are not chopped but super thin and not greasy. Whiz with onions plus hot cherry peppers on the side. The bread is perfect. Surprise shout out to the chicken tenders which were fresh and delicious. It's not a cheap meal ($13 for a single) but it's super filling. Service was lightning fast and polite. Place looks like a dive but bathrooms are clean and the grill top is visible through the window at the counter. What a delightful treat.

Katherine Y.

Yelp
I think this might by my favorite cheesesteak in Philly. Add mushrooms and it's even better. Highly recommend!!

David B.

Yelp
I am from Cali. The staff was nice on educating me what the traditional Phillies cheese steak sandwich is aside from the extras that can be done where it's not as traditional. For the record, the steak sandwich with onions and whiz cheese sauce is considered traditional One more thing to call out is this bread they use. It's absolutely noticeable that the bread is very special baked and not some run of mill hoagie. I also added fries and this amazing cherry soda It was fantastic. Nothing compares to this in California. There it is. Now you know before you go there

Jackie M.

Yelp
I stopped here because I was at the Sam's club right bread there and didn't feel like cooking that night. Staff was very friendly and the place was clean. I ordered 3 cheesesteaks and cheese fried to go. The steaks were delicious and loaded with cheese just the way I like them. I also liked that they waiting until I was ready to walk out the door to put the cheese on the fried so they would not get soggy. Very nice place with great food!! Will definitely eat there again in the future!!

Bobby S.

Yelp
Been going to the original Steve's in northeast since I was a kid. For my opinion, they beat Jim's, Gino's and Pats. Their steaks are not chopped up but are thinly cut. They are very lean and very juicy. Perfect rolls. I get it with American cheese and fried onions. The place in Langhorne is identical to the original. Perfectly prepared cheesesteaks that are persistently good. Also have amazing cheese fries. If you want a a real Philly Cheesesteak, this is the ONE!!

Miriam A.

Yelp
So disappointed! Usually, I'm steered in the right direction by Yelpers, but have to disagree on this one. It has a solid 4 stars, so we went for a fast dinner. But beware of some things that weren't said. First if all, the place is dirty & unwelcoming. There are two windows and two menus on the wall. You One menu & window is to order steak sandwiches, hoagies, & burgers. Plus extras - different cheese other than American or 'Wiz. There are tiny instructions on "how to order". I was reminded of the Seinfeld episode with the 'Soup Nazi'! Then you must go to the other window to order fries, drinks etc. Then the biggest problems start with the food. You are handed a 10-12 inch hoagie roll on a single paper plate with a few sheets of sandwich paper under it. They only have plastic forks! The meat, though flavorful ribeye, is hand cut, in house, daily. But, & here's the sad part, it was cut way too thick & grilled too long. So tough & greasy! We had ordered one pizza steak, with provolone, pizza sauce & fried onions, & with extra meat since reviewers griped about the small amount of meat on the sandwich, & we were sharing. What we got was a wet soggy roll with tough thick slices of steak, some clumps of melted cheese, & some red sauce that didn't resemble or taste like pizza sauce & sautéed onions. It was larger than the single paper plate & they had no knife to cut the meat & eat the sandwich. It was a messy plate and not really worth the effort. The fries, if I must admit, were a huge quantity and well done as requested. But again, the portion flowed over the little basket & we had a mess of loose french fries on paper sheets. You had to take your french fries to the seasoning area, where they had thin cut pickles, a variety of hot peppers, relish & spices. But the mustard & ketchup were in huge vessels with push levers to dispense the accompaniments. So sorry this was such a missed opportunity.

Tyler H.

Yelp
This is the best cheesesteak that I ever had! They're large in length, plenty of toppings and had cheese wiz which I was excited to try. You know it's a good place to eat when truckers are stopping by. Also very friendly and helpful customer service. Thanks for the great experience!

Nick T.

Yelp
Best cheesesteaks outside of Philadelphia by a long shot! Steve knows how to keep the authenticity of the art

Kevin B.

Yelp
I ordered a steak with Wiz and onions. It was very very greasy and void of any flavor. The Wiz was so watery too that my sandwich was just a greasy watery mess. Plus there was not a whole lot of meat on it and almost zero onions. The roll was fresh and had a nice sweetness to it but by the time I got a couple of bites in it was just so soggy. My daughter got one with Provolone, hers was much better because it didn't have the watery Wiz but still very bland on the flavor side. We also got the cheese fries but again the Wiz was watery so all the "cheese" on the fries just ran off to the bottom of the container. I am sorry to say that unfortunately we did not have a very good meal here today. Still gave it 2 stars because the roll was good and staff was friendly and fast.

Jenna P.

Yelp
Wiz wit, that's all that needs to be said... Just kidding, been coming here forever and I will continue until I die. Fast service, nice staff, and amazing food. Not a ton of variety if you're a tourist FYI but you don't need it. Authentic Philly!!!

Forsaken X.

Yelp
Musty boul at the counter needs to get a gym membership. I can't understand a word he says, very difficult, sorry if he is special. He put onions in it when I didn't ask for them and I'm allergic. Thanks

Eric L.

Yelp
Amazing Philly cheesesteaks. I was surprised that this location was at least as good as the one in Philadelphia. My double meat mushrooms onions provolone cheesesteak was just what the doctor ordered after a long day spent at nearby Floor and decor. That + a provolone cheesesteak with onions mushrooms and sweet peppers came out to $33.

John L.

Yelp
I've been a loyal subject of Steve's for years. I prefer the longer strips of steak on a cheesesteak over the chopped/shaved variety most places have. I always go with a cheesesteak, without onions and American for my choice of cheese. The staff's always been good to me, it's usually a quick transaction because of how busy they are. Depending on the time of day and how busy they get the eat-in area can be a mess, but I usually take mine to go. Their fixins are always nice and full. The steak itself is always tasty, on a fresh roll and the way they melt the cheese on the roll is always just right. Steve's has always answered the call and made driving into the City for a cheesesteak unnecessary! On my most recent trip I added on some Chicken tenders for my son and they were a good deal for $6.50. They were plump and tasty. Keep up the good work guys!

Sean O.

Yelp
They just added Cooper Sharp to the menu and it's BANGIN!!! Get your steak with unions and Cooper Sharp and you won't be disappointed

Neferteri G.

Yelp
I think steve's used to be the best cheesesteak place around. Over the years I think the quality has gone down but it is still good. I enjoy their fries the most, always fresh.

Robert S.

Yelp
Great cheese steaks and really good hoagies. Love the cherry soda. The cheese fries are good

Shamik M.

Yelp
Excellent Philly cheesesteaks if you like whole slices of ribeye - high quality meat and they also have Taylor ham and various hoagies. I'm personally a bit more of a fan of the thin/chopped style of meat, but with Steve's you can really taste the quality of the meat better.

Chris S.

Yelp
Get a two but you have to hear me out. Absolutely my most favorite cheesesteak in the area. Absolutely delicious! But... The way these wankers talk to people on the phone is hilarious. I got the lingo down, chief. I'm calling my order in because I don't like hanging out in your parlor of "wait for my order" and have someone say, "just come in." Short staffed? Not the customers fault. Hate your job? Not our fault. Not asking to be fellated with your words, but being decent goes a long, long way. Hopefully a manager stumbles on here and thinks, "hmmmm, this may be an issue." Because it is. My family literally argues over who calls in the order because the whole restaurant is filled with smug pricks. (Except once...kid was a gem of a human.) And the person answering the phone was the mongo lookin meathead with the tattoos designed by children!

James K.

Yelp
Steve's signature cheesesteak is that it isn't finely diced like most other places but are just grilled cuts of meat which makes this feel more like a sandwich than most other Philly cheesesteaks. But I think the thing that won me over was the bread! It is the classic roll with the little grains of whatever that give it the rough texture which contrasts nicely with the tender meat and onions and mushrooms (add them!). The fries were also dropped and fried to order which makes them super hot and crispy. They aren't anything special otherwise; but I think the freshness of it makes it pretty amazing. Recommended!

Sam S.

Yelp
We had never tried this place and decided to try the langhorne location last week. The worst steak ever. Don't have a high bar bc I like steakums. One big key is a great crispy roll. These Rolls were squished and completely soggy. The meat was not chopped and fought back. The taste was a roast beef of poor quality. Kids got hamburgers which also had soggy buns and soggy fries. It smells good when you pass by but keep going. Wawa is better but we're happy to stay with Jay's. I can't explain how embarrassingly bad it was. It's scary to think the people who made this thought it was in any way acceptable to give to people let alone charge for it.

Steve M.

Yelp
The second cheesesteak tried on my monthly trips up for Sesame Place. This restaurant wins the award for being the closest location (only 5 minutes from the park). It will be difficult to drive by this place and settle for a location inside the city, off the highway. So maybe my experiment is over. I did Sonny's and this place. It's good. Not 5 stars. But it checks a lot of boxes. The bread is soft. The meat is tender. The cheese is melty and greasy. I ordered two and had the American cheese with onions right away and ate the Wiz later. The wiz actually had a lot of flavor. And was very good. The American cheese was also good, but I think I give it 4 stars because a somewhat lack of flavor on the meat. It's just meat. Which is good. But maybe some seasoning would really drive it home.

John B.

Yelp
Damn fine cheese steaks. Try the double meat, wiz and onions. Petty standard fare for the cheese steak fans.

Alex G.

Yelp
This place gets a lot of flak. They used to be rude but now all good. Order with and your all good

Sandi R.

Yelp
Was there yesterday for the first time. Ordered a pizza steak, chicken cheese steak and one order of FF......was charged $31!! Didn't think much about it at the time, but, how in the hell did that come to $31??? According to the menu online, my order shouldn't have been more then $20!!! My chicken cheese steak was more cheese then meat (the cheese was very thin/liquidy and dripping out of the sandwich) and the cheese was all that I tasted, the sandwiches were very thin with hardly anything between the bread! Definitely not worth it and I will not be going back.

Adi M.

Yelp
We were driving from Pittsburgh back to New York and looked for a good cheesesteak place off of the highway. This one took us 10 minutes off route and had decent reviews so we decided to try it out. It was pretty good. I got a plain steak with mushrooms, onions, sweet and spicy peppers. My friend got cheese fries. The fries were a bit salty because of the seasoning but still delicious. I personally prefer when a cheesesteak is cut up into smaller pieces but the hand sliced ribeye was very tender and lean. Overall, I'd go again if I'm driving on that highway again as to avoid going into the city, but still would prefer elsewhere.

Angel C.

Yelp
I'm not a fan of cheese steaks, but Steve's has some damn good cheese steaks. They are good with any choice of cheese, but the best is the cheese whizz. This is a great place because the food comes out fast and hot, it's messy, and it's delicious.

Stan S.

Yelp
How is this place still in business? The steak meat is over-cooked, tough to chew, tasteless and over-priced. They should thank their lucky stars that a real steak joint isn't nearby to offer competition. Even the fries .. crispy but tasteless. It's sad. Very sad.

Ronald R.

Yelp
Great steaks! Especially when you don't feel like cooking. Call ahead. Just be careful driving out of the lot. Lot's of crazies on US1

Stephanie M.

Yelp
As a philly native you have to know how to order. They are fast and to the point. I always recommend Steve's to anyone out of state because it is one of the big names but not one that people go to because they don't leave the inner city. It's different than any of the others. Thick good steak.

Chris O.

Yelp
Great cheesesteaks. Great service. Quick in and out for an authentic cheesesteak experience.

Alfred N.

Yelp
The Philly cheese steak is a classic and taste absolutely amazing. There are two stations, one for the sandwich and one for the fries and drinks. The service is quick. The whiz cheese with the steak on a sandwich was an amazing creation.

Cecilia T.

Yelp
I've lived in Philly for 10 years and tried every single cheesesteak place there but this place is my all time favorite for an authentic Philly cheesesteak...the difference is their steak is sliced not chopped. I've moved to several different states throughout the years but nowhere is as good as Steve's. No one uses cheez whiz in the other states except for Philly. I haven't had a real Philly cheesesteak in years and decided to make the trip from NY here to devour one since we were on our way to Sesame Place with our kids. They can experience the real, best Philly cheesesteak as well (they loved it). My usual is a cheesesteak with whiz and onions along with a side of cheez whiz fries. Their bread is thin and they give a generous amount of sliced flavorful steak. The bread doesn't get soggy at all, even with all the steak juices and cheese in between. The fries are crispy and tastes even better with cheez whiz, plain is boring especially with a cheesesteak. We enjoyed every bite of the cheesesteak and fries. Cash only but they have an atm inside. Plenty of parking with indoor/outdoor seating. Definitely worth giving a try if you're looking for the best cheesesteak in Philly!

Chris C.

Yelp
$28.00 for 2 steaks with cheese? And its only 1 actual slice of meat on there. I go to teddy's on 4700 Frankford ave there less expensive and have 2.5 × the meat. You can barely bite it steves is not fit for a king not even a hungry kid

Alex W.

Yelp
Similar style to Geno's with slabs of steak as opposed to chopped, which is my preference. Steve's was great! Two thumbs up!

Michele L.

Yelp
Visited Steve's and tried their cheese steak with whiz and onions and was surprisingly satisfied by the sliced steak. I'm typically team chopped but the meat was pretty tender and easier to eat than it's chopped counterparts. The cheese gave it good moisture and was a bit drippy but totally manageable so long as you are eating over a table. Also tried their hot and spicy fries with whiz over it. It was tasty but HUGE so definitely order to share with 2-3 people. The awesome part was their pickle and condiment bar. I tried different pickles with my sandwich which I enjoyed because sometimes other places will either put too much or too little of something. This way I can just do it exactly the way I'd like it. It was a little off putting to have to order fries/drinks at one window and then move to another to order a sandwich. This means you have to pay twice. Not a fan of that but I suppose thats how they stay organized in the back. We enjoyed our food very much. The sandwich was about $10 and the fries was $5 plus $1.35 for a bottle of water. Pricing isn't super cheap but certainly manageable. I'd come back again!

Yasser A.

Yelp
Tried this place out because I was in the area for a family trip and while we technically aren't in Philadelphia one always wants a Philly cheesesteak when near philly. The bread is nice and soft and the meat is tender I had mine with wiz and onions but they also added sweet peppers to mine I think they mixed it up with my wife's who asked for sweet peppers. The meat needed some salt and pepper on it if that had been done it would have added another layer of taste to the cheesesteak

Marc H.

Yelp
Visiting Philadelphia so I have to try an authentic Philly Cheesesteak... Visited this local gem with good Yelp reviews... you did not steer me wrong. I went for the double steak with onions, Wizz and hot peppers... Very good! Fries were good too.. be sure to get wizz with them too!

Marissa D.

Yelp
Just had my first experience at Steve's and WOW. My boyfriend raves about them having incredible cheesesteaks and he wasn't wrong. I went with the double meat and double cheese (provolone) with onions and proceeded to gobble down the entire thing. I couldn't stop, it was too good. The meat was quality and each bite was better than the one before. The fries were bland and kinda dry, so I would definitely skip them. Mozzarella sticks were good! If you have a hankering for a good cheesesteak that will leave you happy and satisfied, Steve's is the spot.

Elder Lamont S.

Yelp
Food is always good and fresh, customer service is very good..I prefer my steak chopped but the quality of meat if good. There burgers are good as well and I love there egg rolls

Don A.

Yelp
Great steak. I wish they were a little more free on the opinions. I've never been, help. "No" Really...

Gerry K.

Yelp
It's all about the steaks! Sooooooo good! This is a REAL "Philly Cheesesteak"! Better than Pats or Genos if you ask me. Only negative is they only accept cash and the atm inside robs you blind with fees. Modern up with some Apple Pay or Tap to Pay guys!!

Ben S.

Yelp
Yo, this is the best cheesesteak in Philly. For first timers: get a Whiz Wit. It's a Cheesesteak, Onions, and Cheese Whiz. For second timers: The American Cheese is great here. Experiment a little bit. The roasted hot peppers at Steve's are great, too. Much better heat than adding hot sauce. The ribeye medallions are always juicy and flavorful, the rolls are mostly always fresh, and the cheese is tasty. My go-to order: Whiz, Pizza Sauce, Onions, Hot Peppers with a side of pickles. There are so many flavors to unpack and they mesh well together. Let me know if you try it.

Joe C.

Yelp
This was the most unique steak sandwich I have had. I actually prefer shaved steak, but this was good too. The lace was very clean and the employees were friendly. Since I am not from the area I probably won't be back, but would recommend it if you are a local or an out of towner wanting to taste a true philly steak sandwich.
