The place is downright beautiful. The animatronics are great, the staff friendly, easy parking and very clean aisles. On a scale of 1 to 10, the food is easily 15 or more. One reviewer described it as the Disneyland of food shopping, I agree. Your dogs tail will wag when you open up the bag. Ha, ha. Great.

Great place to shop and have fun with farm feel atmosphere. The kids will love WOW THE COW.

The produce is really fresh and the cooked food is great. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Lots of parking and carts. Try the apple cider donuts! The meat and seafood are very fresh. Lots of parking.

Such a beautiful store. Great vibe. Great for kids. Brought my kids here when the were small 25 years ago. Staff is so nice. Their prices are so high!! I barely filled a small shopping bag w food. It was 100.00. Turkey dinner (turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes ), a dozen organic eggs, flowers and 2 cards for my mom’s birthday. ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS? Not appreciated. 😩

Honestly, I hate shopping here. The store is fine. The staff are mostly great. The prices are competitive. It's just that, the LAYOUT is a disorganized type of chaos. I find items close to what I want, but unlike NORMAL grocery stores, similar products or other varieties of the same product are sometimes located...well, ELSEWHERE. There are NO isles with, let's say, EVERY brand of pasta in all types and sizes like at other grocery stores. If it's your first time there, you will almost certainly NOT be able to complete a "list" of items. It's like they want to force you to spend a long time browsing. Like most of what you end up with is impulsive rather than selected. I imagine if I spend enough time visiting the same store often enough and want to dedicate my self to memorizing where everything is, then it would be ok. But here's the thing. A grocery shopping experience shouldn't have a learning curve. And I should be able to run. In, grab my 10 or 20 necessary items, and check out. They have awesome meats, veggies, cold cuts.. don't get me wrong, they have serious quality. Just....way too much chaos. And then there's all the superfluous "stuff" like singing animated livestock and such. I don't go grocery shopping for the amusement value. I guess with kids in tow it would be nice, but I'm not even sure I would have appreciated it when my kids were younger. The novelty would wear off quickly and I never raised my kids to need "distraction" in public places like grocery stores. They behaved and didn't need some talking cow to keep their behavior manageable. So.. good food and stuff.. reasonable prices.. way too much nonsense. I just want my groceries.

The food was absolutely delicious, the portions were incredibly generous, and the flavors have definitely improved since my last visit. There is a great vibe in the dining room and the staff were very helpful throughout our meal. I’ll definitely be back soon! I left feeling very full and satisfied. The taste is even better than before. Excellent ambiance and attentive service. Highly recommended for any occasion!

I had an outstanding experience at Stew Leonard’s Alcohol Department! From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by Dazon, who made my holiday shopping so easy and enjoyable. He provided excellent suggestions for gift ideas and was extremely knowledgeable about all the products in the store. His professionalism and friendly attitude truly made my visit exceptional. I also want to give a very special thank you to Patricia, who wrapped all of my gifts beautifully. She was incredibly pleasant, patient, and truly amazing at what she does. Because of the wonderful service from both Dazon and Patricia, I will definitely be returning. Stew Leonard’s has earned a loyal customer—highly recommended!

We have been shopping at Stew's for over fifteen years and they get better with time. The fresh produce, the fish, the baked goods, the cooked foods, the pastries, the wines, need I go on!? The location, the service and the quality and the prices. Great one stop shop for fresh, high quality foods- Even their ice cream is all natural, flavors to choose from and they are delicious! We love Stew's. Kids love to go there. Great shopping experience for the family. The wines are priced right and there are options for every discerning taste. This is THE place for excellent wines.

Was in Yonkers with some time on my hands after my appointment. Figured while I was in the neighborhood I'd stop at Stew Leonard's - Yonkers. I was always impressed with the service, the selections available and quality. The saying " you get what you pay for". The prices are maybe, a little more expensive, but I've never felt cheated. I've been going there for over 20 years. Never disappointed; until today. I've always found Quality, I'm able to find just what I want and in quantities that are not warehouse sized. Tried the one in Norwalk, a few years ago. That one was very disappointing, even the parking is a bit of an annoyance. Picked up a little over $100 in groceries. Saw the veal scallopini; in the meat case great for a classic Sunday dinner. Asked the butcher if they were sliced thinly? He said yes. Great! Up in Dutchess County, sadly, It's almost impossible to find somebody that knows how to do it properly. When I got home and opened the package, there was one that looked like somebody hit it with a shotgun. See the most recent photo. 7/6/25 A child could've done a job better with a scissors. One of the others was a little bit too thick, almost like a thin steak. I could sit here and whack it with a meat mallet; hoping to get it thin enough. But, why should I? I would NEVER expect this from Stew Leonard's!!! If I was still down in Bronxville, I would've brought it right back to the Store and showed it to the butcher. And demand a rebate or properly cut veal scallopini. But, a little over a two hour round-trip drive, 120 miles, plus the wasted gas makes it prohibitive and disappointing. That's the only reason for a 3 star review.

I am an avid customer of Stew Leonards for many years and usually love all that they do. However, I bought apple turnovers yesterday... They were flat, doughy, and contained only a trace of Apple. I never thought Stew Leonard's would succumb to what many other supermarkets are doing with regard to higher price, less excellence, and less amount. I am still a customer but now I am a Leary customer!

Strange to review a grocery store for sandwiches, but I have to say for seven bucks this half a sub sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and freshly cut London broil roast beef (that they cooked themselves) is worth noting. I don't eat a lot of meat, but every now and then I really love a good roast beef sandwich. These premade sandwiches at Stew Leonard's rival delis all over NY for their price, quality of the meat, their homemade bread. And all you've gotta do is buy some cheese and mayo if you wanna step it up a bit. Worth the trip.

I used to love this place, but it had really gone downhill. We used to get seafood here, but now the seafood area smells bad, and the seafood doesn't look good. The last few times I've been here, I haven't gotten anything. The only thing that's always good is the frozen yogurt. Very sad.

Unique grocery shopping experience. They call Stew Leonard's the Disney of Grocery Stores. There are animamatroincs throughout the store to entertain kids and adults alike. They have a great deli, bakery, and a good combination of in store products and brand name favorites. They are more expensive than Trader Joe's but their prices are much more reasonable than Whole Foods and some local grocery chains in the NYC/ Westchester area. Don't forget to use the app at checkout. You get points and 100 points will get you a free coffee or ice cream on your way out.

Very expensive. Also lacking a lot of the items that I was looking for. I really needed a can of coconut milk and couldn't find this here. It is a wonderful place to visit if you want to purchase root vegetables. They also make it very fun to go grocery shopping with the little ones. They add a sticker on almost everything at the register and I find it to be quite wasteful. I know they need to monitor the food/purchases but it is very wasteful.

Stew Leonard's is a very overwhelming experience but it's so fun and you can get a bang for your buck with some quality food! It's an adventure navigating thru, i'd describe it as controlled entropy. They have EVERYTHING. And prices are fair. I had to really control myself. Love this place.

Yes --- immediately seen a long, nonmoving ice cream soft serve line. I actually detoured to the restroom lol and when I went onto the line, the exact same people hadn't moved! ONE person behind the counter! C'mon Stews! Let's g-o time! lol

I still enjoy shopping at Stews because the food is fresh for the most part but as of late, I have noticed that they tend to put meat products on sale with a 1-2 day expiration date and at times, the date is not accurate and the meat might turn earlier than, or on the expiration date. I have had several occurrences where I have had to return meat or seafood because it was off and I did not want to ingest it and get sick. I have never been met with a problem until today and because customer service has always been on the side of the consumer (as per Stew's own commercials), I always felt like they were eager to rectify a situation. I purchased some bone-in New York strips on sale and the sell by/use by date was a few days away. I planned to used it within the time. I cooked one pack with no issued but when I went to open the second pack on the expiration date, the meat looked odd and the odor emitted was horrible. My family moved back to the Bronx so it's difficult to run to Stews when I have to return something. I'm the past, I've never had an issue with a return of an item, especially when it went bad, even after the use by/sell by date. It hasn't happened often but the few times it has (bad shrimp, bad steak, bad ground beef, bad whole chicken), I was never met with any issue at customer service. I also was never informed of any policy regarding returning items. When I brought this particular steak back, it was a few days after the use by date, the earliest I could bring the item back. A manager was called and she informed me that their policy will not allow an exchange or refund for turned items unless the customer either calls in or emails the company to inform them of the issue. When I asked how long this policy was in effect, she stated that she had been working there for two years and it was always in effect during her employ. What's odd, is that one of the employees in the customer service area actually took care of a similar return for me a year or so prior, and he never informed me of this policy. He allowed me to exchange a product that had gone bad, for a fresher package. While they did give me a "one-time" (apparently) refund, they would not allow me to exchange for a different package that was fresher, at the sale price. I was disappointed because it's a drive to/from Stews during most hours of the day, and had I known about this policy, I would have called/emailed when I first observed the problem. Stew Leonards prides themselves on customer service. They even have a plaque that states that their first rule is the customer is always right. Obviously, this should be taken with a grain of salt but within reason, I think they should have allowed me to exchange the product. Firstly, we purchased meat the went bad too early, secondly, the day the meat went bad, we had to find an alternative to dinner (delivery), and lastly, I had to schlep back up to Stews with dank and rotting meat, not even knowing they had such a policy. I'm sure the customer service employees I interacted with previously likely just gave me an exchange/refund because they either just wanted to take the easiest course of action or did not know the policy. What the company should do is post this policy information in their stores and ensure that all customer-facing employees are aware of and practice the policy, as well as inform their customers.

I recently bought two baguettes from the Yonkers location and was surprised to find an insect lodge in the bread. I was busy taking a bite and something told me to look down...to find this creature. I immediately sent a feedback email to the Stew Leonard's team. Their response was so lackluster, all they said was send a copy of the receipt to get a refund. No cause for concern at all. Imagine a lousy $2.49 to compensate for me and my entire family exposed to bugs in their food. Shame on you Stew Leonards, do better!!

The entire store is like a rural farm, but the produce and the meats and the service deli is just absolutely amazing. There's nothing like New York quality.

We try to make it here at least a couple times a month if not more everything's always fresh they have things for the kids and the adults to spend $100. You have an ice cream or coffee on your app which is easier to use. We love coming here, the service is impeccable the staff is wonderful and there's always tons of things to do that involve food, which is one of my personal favorites in a supermarket or take things home they're already prepared. Nothing better than that.

Stew's in Yonkers is great. Their prepared foods are so delicious and their bread and baked goods far surpass private bakeries. I had some catering done by them recently and everything was excellent and reasonably priced. By the time you shop and prepare, having them do all the work was more cost effective. Will be using their catering again next week. The staff is always friendly and accommodating too. A fun store to walk around with all the farm animals hanging from ceiling. They have a beautiful garden section too.

9 days ago I left a bad review about the awful piece of Chilean sea bass I purchased. I sent an email to Stew Leonard's customer service. That was on a Friday evening. The following Monday I received a response. They stepped up immediately and offered a refund or store credit. Thank you Stew Leonard's for the quick response and doing the right thing. We'll be back.

I love this place. I wish there were more places like this. The atmosphere is so fun & enjoyable. Prices are very high but it's fun to walk through and pick up food, desserts, etc along the way. Their ice cream is the best around.

Went to stews in Yonkers NY for 1 item. As usual the prices are through the roof. We only go to strews 2 times a year maybe. Everything in that store is overpriced. And all the rich white people that shop there think they are getting better quality than your average ShopRite or Stop n Shop and they're not,

this place has gone downhill for the food (lobster rolls/burgers etc)n they literally cut off the tap water from the soda machine to force people to buy poland spring water bottles. they barely have any samples anymore

I love their dairy products, salads, frozen yogurt, produce, etc. I like their customer service. Nice atmosphere and more of farm theme supermarket.

Stew Leonard's is a unique experience and offers a wide variety or specialty and also standard products most at premium prices. The layout is a curvy lane that takes you through all the departments (meat, fish, bakery, etc.). Some of the staples such as creamer have a limited selection of brand options and household items like soap and detergent are not sold at all. But that's not why you come here. The fresh and unique items and the discounted wine makes this a fun experience. They even have a coffee bar, an outdoor garden center, and an outdoor grill that sells burgers and bbq. The day we were there they were selling hot, fresh lobster rolls that looked great.

Love the seafood and free samples at Stews in Yonkers! They have all the top-of-the-line produce and supplies .

You can find just about anything here and the prices are pretty good compared to regular grocery stores. They also have hot or cold prepared meals and make their own dairy on site. Some other nice features are a huge variety of fresh meat & seafood, an ice cream stand outside, large attached liquor store with an impressive selection of wine. Staff is always friendly, parking super easy. It's right off the thruway next to Home Depot, across from Ridge Hill Mall. And don't forget to stop by Yonkers Animal Shelter where u will find ur new best friend!

Great place for birthday parties my grandson had his 4 th birthday at stew Lenard's cause he Luves that place at first I thought my son is spending so much money for a birthday parties but I was definitely wrong it turned to be the best place for a party the staff was amazing all the young kids working hard they took there time made sure adults and children were very happy the entertaining they offered was amazing from making ur own pizza to paintings games they offfered was perfect we will be back in August for the second child turning 3 adults got pizza and boneless chicken wings everything was delicious and perfect thank u stew Lenard's for all the hard work from your staffed we been shooing at stews over 20 years

It's about time Stew Leonards to start carrying clean organic produce. "Farm fresh" loaded with chemicals and pesticides is no good. Stew Leonards is an illusion of healthy foods.

First time buying from this establishment. Let's just say i really love this damn store lol. It's clean and well maintained but huge like going through a food maze lol. Has everything you need plus more. Service was spot on staff very knowledgeable about their products. We ended buying 3 dozen clams and had $5.99 lobster that were delicious. I also got a candy apple that just brought me back to my childhood all and all I will be back lol.

My rating here is about something unrelated to the food or the store. Every time when I arrive at Stew's, I look for a small cart because I find it extremely difficult maneuvering the larger carts. When I finally find a small cart, (usually from stalking other shoppers in the parking lot in order to get their smaller cart). When I do find one, it looks like it fought WW2.. It's so banged up from wear and tear. When I spoke to the management there, it falls on deaf ears. Since my last visit at Stew's, I found a new store called DeCicco & Sons near my home. It might cost more to shop, but their smaller carts are new and easy to maneuver. I think Stew's deserves an F for terrible customer relations!

Bread, baked goods, fish salads and most of the pre-prepared food is made fresh in-house! You can't go wrong with these food items here! The whole maze traffic thingy where it's hard to go backwards if you missed something, especially if it's super busy w/ other shoppers, is downright hassling. I really like Stews as a above averagely priced farm to shelves type super market. I favor this type of store over a Wholefoods. I have not been to WEGMANS in Harrison Westchester yet, so that review is pending once I get the wife in tow. DONT GO IF YOUR HUNGRY like I did, cause you can easily splurge over 300$ bucks on food, I especially get caught with my pants down drooling over all the sweet in house baked goods like the glazed & jelly donuts + the variety of speciality baked breads, sourdough and seeded rye breads all made in-house! I think it's a bit overpriced but if you want quality and freshly prepared foods then go.

Hi Stew, I've recently visited your store twice , wanted to comment about my experience. Just opened one of your personal salads.l and bite into a brown rotted lettuce core dated 4/19 ,reminded me how much your supermarket stinks. When the best part of the experience becomes a "moo " on the wall followed by dancing avocados It's overpriced and has rotten food. I'm not sure what the appeal is but it's a loss no pizzazz. Your food is not fresh unless you compare it to older food on the shelves , your prepared food is gross ! WHO cares about free sample of crappy food ! Your olive bar was sloppy ! Portions much too large and way over priced ! Stew for the prices you charge shame on you ! You should visit Wegmans and learn how to operate a supermarket. Moo moo to you !

I find this establishment to be awesome. I also like how the place flows. Its like I'm in a barn going in one direction but coming out from the same end. Kind of going around in a circle, a huge one. Anyway they have alot of good items here. From fresh bakery treats, fresh veggies, nice fish market area, great cheese selection, good meat area, and not to mention prepared food items, so diverse you are sure to find something you like. It really is a great market that reminds me of a farm inside a barn if that makes any sense lol, with farmers market items and produce. Not to mention the great wine area they have inside the place. They also make the best soft serve ice cream that I haven't had in years. I really am a fan and will continue to make plenty of visits. If you know of any Stew Leonard's you have to make a visit, I definitely would recommend it.

Big and clean supermarket They carry their own brand as well I always got Organic whole milk Lobster and tuna salad from seafood section Aged steak Slice cheese and ham from deli section French baguette If you spend over $100 make sure you redeem ice cream! Their ice cream is very rich milky flavor

As much as it pains me to do this I need to update this review (even with it being a ROTD). Stew Leonards has gone down in quality. The prepared foods were one of the best things about this store but lately....YIKES! We just threw out a ton of food that tasted bad, was spoiled before we bought it or went moldy a day or two after coming home. Very disappointing. Not sure if we will be coming back anytime soon.....

This place has absolutely anything you might need (to eat or drink). It's like a giant food department store. Came here with my aunt about 10 years ago and now it's a pilgrimage every time we come back to Yonkers. Love it.

Amazing choice of food all fresh serving yourself,friendly cashiers and one can ask for a sample of food

I LOVE this place! I was so excited this was on my trip to my friend's home when I was in town. I used to stop here weekly when I went to grad school in Donna Ferry. There were 2 items I was specifically looking for and was hoping they still carried them since it has been 10 years since I visited. I have been meaning to stop here during one of my visits back home but never made it because it is so far out of the way from where my parents live. This location is off the Major Deegan (NY Thruway) so if you are not traveling that route, it would be out of your way. We stopped by on our way back from my friend's and arrived just before closing. I wanted to show hubs this staple since he is Canadian and has never heard of Stew Leonard's but we had our munchkin. So I went in alone. They also have a separate wine store but that was closed unfortunately when I arrived. I remember stopping in there for hard to find wines when I lived in NY. Since it was near closing time, the market part was deserted. It was nice because there is nothing I despise more than shopping with a jam packed store. Many of the fresh departments were closed and did not have anything hot available. I was specifically looking for their chipotle dip and fresh made potato chips, which I luckily found. I found some other miscellaneous drinks and beers that were $1 each! I also ran over to a dog bone stand while I was already on line. I picked up 2 for my dog and one for my parents' dog. We still had about a 20 minute drive until my rents place so I figured Mila could have a treat. If you are traveling along 87, I would definitely stop here. The employees have never been super friendly or personable in any of my experiences over the years but still decent. They also have ice cream cones that are cheap but I think only during the summer.

Greaf store baked goods are great. Everything is fresh. The Icecream is yummy the chicken is fresh i love everything in the store.

The Disney World of Food Shopping! One of the most unique shopping experiences there is! This was my local Stews for many many many years! This was the 4th location to open up. Until they came to the area, the vicinity was mostly dead... Now they have a mini mall and several other stores here. Stews is a really amazing place to go food shopping. Especially if you have young kids. Every time you turn down one of their "aisles" they have a different animatronic! They might not be known for having the best prices, but they do have the freshest food! I do not mind spending a little extra for super fresh meats and fish. All their stores start in the most important place, the bakery! Their bakery is second to none! From cookies to cakes, they really know how to bake! Dads favorite cookies are sooo yummy. They are also really well known for their own brands of items. They make their own coffee's as well as potato chips and many other items. Their produce is super fresh as well. If you are looking for items that most normal stores do not carry, there is a decent chance that they do! I really love their pink pineapple!!!! Staff here is always super friendly! I really love how they hire people at entry level, but 90+% or something like that is all internal rising through the ranks. They really give you the tools to excel. Do not forget their hot food at the end! Its all yummy! All in all a wonderful store that is super clean. Very friendly staff. Crazy fresh food! If you live on this planet, you need to visit here.

I loved grocery shopping here when I was a child with my grandma. We always get food here for the holidays. For over a decade we've gotten food for Thanksgiving, Chanukkah, Passover, and just regular visits to see my grandparents. The food is great! I love the options they have although they do need some more dairy-free cheeses and milk options. I was also confused because the salami options had milk in them. I'd never seen salami with dairy in it if it hadn't been packaged with cheese. I was also a little freaked out by the animatronics. I swear one of the cows made eye contact with me although I did like the dancing avocados. I used to love the animatronics but they now look dirty and glitchy which doesn't I loved the pico de gallo and the guacamole that I bought from the store. I also really loved everything else that I had gotten. I wish I could have bought some of the lobster tails alongside my grandma because they looked so good. Next time. I'll definitely make another trip here again as soon as I can.

The staff went above and beyond to remedy this service breakdown. They were in contact with me and provided me a gift card to match my expenses to come back for a meal on them. My family and I chose very carefully, however the food was better than the first time. The guest service was also pretty top notch considering the fails the first time around.

This is actually one of the coolest supermarkets I have ever been to (aside from the beloved Wegmans). As some have stated, it is structured similarly to Ikea; which makes it so much fun to be in a maze. As you enter the market you are easily drawn to all the pastry and cooked foods! It made me very eager to try everything. The first time I came here was after New Year and it was super festive. The main reason why I love this spot is because....of the salmon sushi! Surprise surprise. Yes, I was too. The fish was so fresh and extra fatty that I remember how good the sushi was the first time and recently made another trip to check it out again. The sashimi looked really fresh. There was a lot of variety of different sushi boxes, but I had to go with the salmon sushi. There were only two out, which were stacked on top of each other. To my surprise, I was very hesitant at first when I saw the sashimi looking fresher than the sushi, but when I lifted the top one up, I found an even fattier one underneath. It was just as delicious as the first time! So make sure to check :) Also, the Eel sushi was good too! I'll be back for some fresh sushi when I'm around the area. This is very shocking for a supermarket to have good quality sushi, even better than some of the more expensive sushi restaurants I have been to.

This is the perfect supermarket. The bakery is downright dangerous. The baked goods section so huge you can easily fill up your cart before you get halfway through. Pistachio muffins? Thank you! A tub of cannoli cream with pastry chips for dipping? Why not! I was so distracted with the fruit tarts I completely missed that Stew Leonard's carries Boar's Head. Got to the Meat section and behold! Excellent beef short ribs. In fact, all the meat looked fantastic. Hell, fish, poultry, produce... all top quality with a fantastic selection. Need radicchio? They got it. Don't forget to look up. There are animatronic displays of singing cows and chickens, and a train. This isn't just a quick in and out. It's a production. If I still lived in the Bronx, I would go broke shopping here. Fairway is similarly comprehensive but they can't compete with the overwhelming size and scope of Stew Leonard's. Now I have to figure out a way to bribe my friend to take me back.

Nothing like a trip to Stews! More of an experience than a shopping trip. Prices are relatively reasonable; however, not sure what has happened to their coffees. Picking up a cup of coffee from them was once an integral part of the experience. This has really changed lately, as the coffees are usually watered down or just not good. Friendly staff for sure, but that's been an unfortunate downside lately.

First time visiting bought a cooked chicken. It was dried out, overcooked and was poor tasting threw it away. Prices in general are surprisingly on high side. Will not make a second visit.

First the wine department was wonderful. Huge variety, knowledgeable staff, customer service oriented employees as well. When I asked the person at checkout if they had a gift bag wide enough to fit the bottle & glasses gift set they offered to gift wrap it and did an excellent job wrapping it! Then the main store has an abundance of unusual cookies and sweet treats such as Apple Cider Donut Holes & Cannoli Shell Triangles with powdered sugar on them. One of the best things about going to Stew Leonard's is their ice cream! I came randomly late at night craving dessert and of course Stew's came through! Service is always friendly and prices are great.
