Sonoma and Napa Private Wine Tasting Experiences

"While the tasting room accepts walk-ins, the Nomad Tasting Experience is by-appointment-only and features six single-vineyard Cabernets from each of Andy Beckstoffer's famed Heritage Vineyards." - Jonathan Cristaldi

"A new addition to the California wine trail, Stewart has quickly become a favorite for its top-notch Napa varietals. The Yountville-based wine business is a family affair—run by Michael Stewart and his children—so it's only natural they wanted to open a tasting room with a convivial, easygoing vibe. The Stewarts tapped interior designer Ken Fulk to give the brand-new space, which also includes a café and a library, a lived-in, time-worn feel complete with a Syre stone facade, lots of outdoor space, a wood-burning fireplace, and a mix of antiques culled from Brimfield and Paris flea markets. This spot was SO NICE! We were coming back from our tastings that day and were looking for a full pour to enjoy. As we were driving through Yountville back to our hotel, this caught my eye and we stopped. They were just about to close, but they were incredibly accommodating and made sure we understood the offerings and then poured us each a glass. That afternoon ended up being so warm in the sunshine so we sat at the perfect spot to sip and enjoy. Thank you to the entire staff! We loved it here!!

What started as a booking hiccup became the highlight of our Yountville visit, thanks to David, equal parts concierge, educator, and consummate host, and even part comedian. He carved out extra time to spend with us and used his deep industry knowledge to guide an extended varietal flight that hit every note. From the zesty Sauvignon Blanc to the elegant Cabernets, each pour told a story and delivered on flavor. The courtyard atmosphere and tasting room create a genuinely welcoming experience. We’ll definitely be back.

We came here with a last-minute reservation. The wine here has great aroma and is very tasty. The wine tasting room looks very elegant, and it also has outdoor seating available. The sommelier was very nice and made us feel very welcome, even though it was a last-minute reservation. He explained each of the wines thoroughly, and we had a great experience there.

My friends and I had the pleasure of visiting for a wine tasting last weekend, and the experience was nothing short of spectacular. Julia was our host, and she absolutely nailed it. Not only was she incredibly knowledgeable about the wines and the rich history of Stewart Cellars, but she also went above and beyond to make our visit special. She graciously handled our lively group with so much patience and even jumped in as our photographer for a fun little photoshoot! This wasn’t my first time here, and Stewart Cellars’ commitment to personalized guest experiences never ceases to amaze me. From welcoming us with a customized menu adorned with our names during a previous visit to weaving engaging stories during tastings, every moment feels carefully and thoughtfully crafted. Brett, another host I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, was equally phenomenal, sharing insightful pairing tips and tales that made the tasting even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a wine-tasting experience that’s equal parts exceptional wine, amazing people, and tailored hospitality, be sure to stop by Stewart Cellars! Highly, highly recommended!

Google
Beautiful place to hangout and enjoy wine. This is the only place which is open until 6pm in the area, rest all wineries close around 4:30 or 5pm. They had nice collection of wines. Definitely try their cheese board. The only star deduction is cuz when we enter there was no one to attend us. My husband went towards the kitchen side to call someone to attend us. Recommended!

Loved the outdoor atmosphere, will definitely come back!!

Our experience at Stewart’s was nothing short of exceptional — all thanks to Manny! From the moment we walked in, Manny went above and beyond to make me and my sister feel welcomed, taken care of, and excited about the wines we were tasting. His hospitality was so memorable that we came back again just to see him — and he delivered just as much warmth, charm, and expertise the second time around. Manny didn’t just pour wine — he created an experience. He took the time to walk us through each tasting with enthusiasm and insight, making us laugh, feel special, and truly appreciate every sip. Out of all the tasting rooms and vineyard tours we visited, our time with Manny was hands-down our favorite. If you’re visiting Napa/Younteville, do yourself a favor and visit Stewart's and ask for Manny. His passion, energy, and genuine kindness will turn your wine tasting into an unforgettable moment. We can’t wait to come back again!

Google
You must do a tasting here! They seated us immediately without a reservation and made it work for a group of 6. David is a master story teller and just has general love for what he does. Wines were delicious - both whites and the reds. Great experience and would do again!

Yelp
We joined a local couple who are big wine lovers for a tasting at Stewart Cellars. Although my friend had not experienced their wine, she was impressed it made an exclusive list of wineries to try. To say we were wowed is an understatement. First, the wines were incredibly good. Second, the tasting room was beautiful and intimate. And third, Manny, our wine concierge, was masterful in helping us appreciate the Stewart Cellars difference. We felt a warm welcome with a menu featuring our host's name and having small slices of cheese and meat to sample with the wine. Manny reminded us to taste the wine first, then the cheese and then both at the same time. Beyond his wine smarts, Manny was a warm and engaging host who made this tasting so special. We shared many a laugh with him. One of our guests said he was a "hoot!" We were so impressed that we joined their wine club before we left. Yum!

Yelp
A great place to pop in if you are in Yountville. They have a few different flight options but my husband chose the Cabernet Sauvignon flight option. I was just enjoying the vibes since I'm pregnant so I was living vicariously through him. But it was actually really nice to hear him describe the wines to me know what my general preferences are. They offer caviar options ($80/$120) or a $20 cheese plate. A lot of great seating options both indoor and outdoor. There is some shared space with another eatery but Stewart Cellars has a fantastic and serene set up so you don't feel like it's crowded or your space is limited. We also love that you can have your dog outside. There is parking in the back for customers which if you frequent Yountville- parking can be tough. They do have options to make reservations which I assume would be recommended for larger groups or peak days. Would/will definitely visit again when I can enjoy a flight myself.

Yelp
The wine is absolutely amazing. Manny is the best. My new favorite winery. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We always go hoping to see Mani, who we love. Today we had the pleasure of having Sue as our server. She was an absolute pleasure to talk to. We had the best day. The wine was amazing, as usual. Please consider checking out Stewart Cellars. You won't regret it!

Yelp
Brett was the most amazing host - very attentive - so personable and so knowledgeable. We were so impressed with his depth of knowledge and detailed explanations. We will be back!

Yelp
What a great find. We thought this is a great overall expereince. Wines are good good to very good wines at reasonably prices. Lots of options. I thought their Tartan Cab was a great value. Very friendly wait staff. Reasonable wine club, $230 for 6 bottles twice a year. Pours were around $40, but you get credit for buying or joining. The pours were substantial, and not tiny whiffs. We were offered to revisit any we liked. This didn't feel like a McDonalds of tasting so common in Napa these days. They were so friendly. No pretentious behavior here. It was pretty quiet on a Sunday afternoon, but the staff didn't seem burned out after a long weekend of wine drinkers. Beautiful facility.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance! We made a reservation a few days before for a Wine & Cheese Tasting and our table was set up and ready for us when we walked through the door. Came here to celebrate a birthday and they even customized our menu cards to say "Happy Birthday". Our host Brett was attentive without being intrusive and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The caviar experience is worth it! Their private tasting room is great for a relaxing event. Nomad wine is especially tasty. Our host was attentive without being intrusive.

Yelp
Manny Lopez is a gem. My first visit to Stewart Cellars but my second trip to Napa and an afternoon at Stewart was just what we needed. There were 5 in our group and we snuggled up by the outdoor fireplace with some blankets and settled in for a treat. Manny guided us through a fantastic tasting, my absolute faves were the Sauvignon Blanc, the Pino Noir (lovely rich, and smooth with the dark berries) and the fabulous Tartan. 10/10 I highly recommend this winery, let Manny guide you through your selections - he won't steer you wrong. We left with several bottles, and I cannot wait to return.

Yelp
First time at a wine tasting. We did the outdoor portfolio tasting. The patio is comfortable and beautiful! We are not big wine drinkers. Brett made the experience exceptional! He is very knowledgeable, professional and personable. We found a couple wines we really enjoy now!

Yelp
Stewart Cellars was recommended to me by the staff at Jessup Cellars. The two locations are also right next to each other so it was a short walk after our planned tasting at Jessup. Stewart offers a small but robust selection of wines. Highlights from the tasting were the Chardonnay and the "Tartan" Red Blend. The featured Chardonnay on the tasting menu isn't overly buttery, and strikes a good balance of oak and a chablis style wine. The Tartan Red Blend has good fruity notes and isn't overpowered by oak or tannins. Solid everyday red wine. The tasting came with a cheese board with two types of cheese, craisins, nuts, crackers, and a fig jam. The cheeses paired very well with the wines. Other notes: My parents accompanied me on the tasting and ended up joining the club. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Stewart Cellars is an absolute must visit when in Yountville. They have the finest red wines in all of Napa and also a great handful of other varietals (Rose, Chardonnay, and a Sauv Blanc). In addition to their memorable wines, the Stewart staff is like no other in Yountville. They are all friendly, highly knowledgeable, and clearly fans of wine (Brett is our fav!). If you're in Yountville, you MUST visit Stewart (at least a few times a year). You won't regret it-- that's a promise.

Yelp
We visited Stewart Cellars on a Friday and we had an amazing experience!! We were seated in the outdoor porch where we were served our tasting. Manny our sommelier did an amazing job describing to us the wines we were tasting and even gave us recommendations which we loved (my favorite was the Zinfandel)! Manny was knowledgeable and friendly giving us a mini wine history lesson throughout our tasting. This is a great family owned winery that I'd come back with friends and family.

Yelp
AC blasting in the main tasting room, lots of comfortable outdoor seating under umbrellas to taste during the warm summer days. Ashley was our host the morning we decided to visit. She made us feel welcome, talked us through everything, gave us some additional pours to try out some of their reds side by side and the cheese/fruit plate is worth sharing and pairing with the wines they were pouring. Their wines are good, not the best that I've had, but definitely fun tasting what this winery/tasting room had to offer. Ended up getting a bottle of the 2020 Sonoma Mountain Rose 2020 and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to bring back to the pool since we were staying close by.

Yelp
My go to spot for Yountville tasting room is dedicatedly Stewart Cellars! I like to go at around 5 on a weekday, order a glass of their NOMAD wine which is about $35 a glass (retail for $175 a bottle) and is worth every penny! The outdoor space is gorgeous, the interior is designed by the famous, one and only Ken Folk. On a hot day I will order a bottle of the Chardonnay and chill at the outdoor area. If you are feeling really fancy, book the NOMAD tasting! I think there is absolutely something for everyone's palette and price point!

Yelp
I've done a handful of tastings in Yountville over the last couple years and haven't been impressed with the overall service, however Stewart Cellars was excellent! The wine was so good, and very reasonably priced. We loved everything we tried so we became members. Our server, Ashley was fantastic and I took her card so we could request her in the future. This was hands down the best tasting experience we've had in Napa and will definitely be back!

Yelp
This is a wonderful gem of a tasting room in Yountville. We did the tasting on the patio. I love this outdoor space. It has comfy seating and is really beautifully decorated. It is in the heart of Yountville, so outside on the patio, you feel like you are in the middle of the fun. The wines are exceptional, and the service was so welcoming.

Yelp
Attended a private event and wine tasting. Setting was beautiful, they really accommodated local catering, and provided excellent wines for tasting by the group. Very relaxing location.

Yelp
After attending a family destination wedding in Napa valley, we found ourselves free Sunday morning after the wedding. So, we asked several people at the wedding to recommend a winery for a winetasting. Several suggested Stewart Cellars. We booked an appointment and expected a typical New York tasting, but that is when we were assigned to Manny. Manny became our educator, mentor, and explorer of Stewart wines, what an amazing experience! He was so knowledgeable about the wines, grapes, and the winery itself, that he took us on a magical journey. Add to that, the wine were fabulous, and it was an amazing experience! Go to Stewart Cellars you will love the wines, but ask for Manny, and you'll enjoy the adventure! Cheers to our wedding couple Nick and Ryan.

Yelp
3.5 stars We were able to get a last minute reservation when we called Saturday for a party of 2. There was around a 60% chance of rain so they weren't doing outdoor seating and we were placed in 2 leather chairs inside. It's a pretty cozy place, and the service was pretty welcoming. The flight of 4 drinks - 2 whites followed by 2 reds was $40 each. We were given an extra glass of rose too which I appreciated! We did feel a bit rushed out though and couldn't get too comfortable since we had such a small area to work with. Wish we could have stayed longer and walked around the area during our tasting but that's not something they could control. We took a bottle of the Sauvignon blanc home!
google avatar

Pablo S.

Yelp
What a great experience! Brett walked us through some fantastic wines all the while doing it in a fun and low key manner which is a great thing as it's easy to visit pretentious vineyards. This is not the case with Stewart Cellars! The wines we tried were wonderful. The tasting space is really cool and comfortable. I can't wait to make it across the country to visit them again as they are at the top of my list!
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
Not the prettiest tasting room (though plenty nice), but the wine flights were great and our server was wonderful. We didn't take advantage of looking around the library or the grounds because it was over 100 degrees and we had to get to dinner. It looked prettier outside.
google avatar

Mattie W.

Yelp
Brett facilitated our wine tasting - the Nomad. He was awesome. Super friendly, explained stuff and then gave us time to be by ourselves and just enjoy the wine. Beautiful tasting room. The wine was killer. We sat on the patio. Will definitely be back.

Cynthia G.

Yelp
Manny made it magical! This was by far the highlight of our trip. He is so sociable and fun! We didn't want to leave. Great wine, but excellent service!!! Thank you Manny!!!!!
google avatar

Diana L.

Yelp
The wines were great but Manny was absolutely fantastic. He was informative, entertaining, and and overall great host. He was definitely the reason we enjoyed ourselves here. I'd highly recommend trying all the wines he recommends. We ended up purchasing so many wines with his recommendations.

Yelp
We enjoyed a fantastic visit to Stewart Cellars on a drizzly Sunday afternoon. The ambiance of the tasting room was intimate, chic, and welcoming with tables and booths that the staff graciously allowed us to push around to accommodate our party and kids. We stayed for nearly two hours sampling some of the most delicious wines I've had in quite awhile. Our favorites included the pinot noir, Tartan blend, and a very well-balanced chardonnay that was creamy and not overly buttery or oaky. The woman who assisted us was knowledgeable, friendly, and so accommodating. It was truly a warm and pleasant experience. We left with two bottles and we look forward to returning with more friends and family.

Yelp
This spot rocks! The aesthetic is so stylish and clean. The staff is warm, welcoming, and friendly. We came with six people, ordered a bottle of rosé to enjoy while waiting for a lunch reservation at RH across the street. It was delicious and the AC felt amazing coming in from 80 degree weather. We stumbled upon SC without any expectations and came away very impressed. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I always feel a little embarrassed at giving a less than stellar review at a place like Stewart Cellars. I mean the set up is lovely, the staff is knowledgeable and generous, and the selection, especially if you get some of their higher end wines that are not under the Stewart label (Stewart Cellars claims to be the second winery that has all six Beckstoffers vineyard fruit...just like B Cellars) are high end, Napa Valley fruit. Considering that Beckstoffers fruit sells between $44,000-58,000 a ton, you would expect a review that praises to the cosmos. I just can't do it. I believe that if you are new to wine or high end wines, Stewart Cellars is the place for you! The range here is wide enough to meet the needs of all kinds of unexperienced palates. However, as someone who has trapesed the Napa valley for decades, this just won't do. It has nothing to do with price point or even the quality of the fruit, but rather the wines did not impress me. In fact the left me flat and I was surprised by my own disappointment. Indeed, their high end wines were crowded with folks who seemed to be having a great time...I just wasn't one of them.

Yelp
What a lovely environment with a depth of wines to enjoy! You can go in for a tasting or just grab a glass and relax in their patio (and grab a bite of amazing food at Southside Cafe) which is inside the "compound"! Such a great place to spend your lunch hour! Their wines are all really approachable! We lived several of them. To start the Rose was light and perfect sunny afternoon glass. Or their chard, the merlot and the pinots were great too! So lots of options for you to try. And Frank is great! Such a charmer and he really knows his wines! Oh and he is a total foodie!! What a nice find!!

Eileen V.

Yelp
Beautifully designed and decorated winery with friendly staff. Wine is okay, nothing really outstanding and no real experience during the tasting, we were expecting to learn more about the vineyard and production and it was pretty much basic information. On top of that they ran out of charcuterie and all they offered was like a cracker per person. A bit underwhelming. Great spot to just enjoy the patio and architecture.
google avatar

Colleen H.

Yelp
My partner and I went for a wine tasting today at Stewart Cellars. The ambiance was super cute and the wine selection was pretty good. The tasting fee was $40/person, which is reasonable for the area. While we enjoyed the wine, our host Manny was not very professional. He kept calling my partner bro/bruh, and kept calling me girl. He eventually learned our names but continued saying, "hey girl" or "no worries bro, I got you." My partner went to the bathroom at one point and Manny came over and poured us more wine, leaving my partner out on the tasting notes. While these nuisances may not bother some, it definitely got irritating after a while.

Yelp
What a hidden GEM! Incredible service (Thank you, Manny!), insanely good wine, all in a beautiful and quaint setting. Our new go-to spot!

Yelp
Excellent cellar to do wine-tasting at. Really felt relaxed and on vacation, the aesthetic of the cellar helps. We loved the architecure and design! Our server who conducted the tasting was super friendly, approachable and very knowledgable. He spent a lot of time educating us and answering questions and providing a history on wine-making in napa and specific to the stewart family. The sauvignon blanc was amazing, with notes of mango, kiwi etc. My husband also loved the pinot noir and cabernet. Good price points too. We were told you could order food from southside near by and have along with your tasting. We weren't crazy about the menu so didn't get anything. Mid-way through the tasting we found out they have a cheese plate, so it was kind of too late to add on. I'd recommend them adding to the menu so guests know from the beginning. My only disappointment is that we bought a bottle of the sauvignon blanc to go and we had it it in a gift bag (not a box, because it was only one bottle). The bottle fell through the bottom of the bag and broke :( I guess it was not sturdy enough, so secure your bottles as soon as you get a chance. I don't think they sell to any stores, so I might just have to become a wine club member.

Yelp
New favorite place to visit in Yountville! Thank you Jessup Cellars and Whitney Woltz for introducing me to this hidden gem. Ask for Ashley! The whole staff is friendly, kind hearted and make you feel like your family. Beautiful outdoor tasting area, nice shade on a hot day, and a large menu (along with epic cheese/fruit plate) to choose from! Ashley, provided excellent knowledge of the wines, region, and asked your preferences to make your wine tasting experience customized! I cannot wait to visit again and will recommend this place to all my family and friends!
google avatar

Yelp
Stumbled in with no reservation and couldn't be happier they were able to get us in. Manny was amazing and made our entire experience! Happy to add a new favorite wine to the collection and a new friend! Manny for CEO!!
google avatar

Ellen S.

Yelp
Was mid day on Monday and was able to get a tasting without reservations. They are known for their reds, but we really enjoyed their Rose and Savignon blanc, so much we bought a bottle of each. The place is relaxing as we sat outdoors in comfy chairs/sofas and soaked up the spring sun. The tasting is well spaced so you don't feel rushed but you are also not wondering where they disappeared to. They are also super friendly. A wonderful place to sit out, relax and enjoy great wines!
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
This was the perfect spot to kickoff our wine tasting trip. First of all, who doesn't love Yountville, the location downtown is perfect and gorgeous. We sat outside on a beautiful day and loved their patio. Brett was our server and he couldn't have been more fun and hospitable. His pours were pretty large and the wines were fantastic. We brought some bottles home with us and I can't wait to get into them.
google avatar

Daphne H.

Yelp
We stopped here randomly to pass time before our dinner reservation and I have to say it was one of my favorite wine tastings! The host was very personable and catered the wine selections to our tastes. I prefer white wines over reds and he offered me a selection of white wines with knowledgable background on each type. Was very impressed with this place! There's comfy outdoor seating and a simple, cozy layout. Would highly recommend going here

Farah A.

Yelp
Best winery, EVER!!! Manny is the best host. He treated us to the best wines and offered amazing recommendations for drinks and food. My friends and I love it here and we always come back for more fun times at Stewart Cellars.

Yelp
Stewart is one of my favorites in Napa! While wine is very subjective, I love every varietal of wine they make. The tasting room is spacious, with a clean, rustic-y modern feel. The patio is great when the weather is nice and you can order a snack from Southside Cafe to go along with your tasting. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Stewart is a great place to start or end your day of wine drinking!!

Brianna W.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. My mom and I tasted today for my birthday. The winery is absolutely beautiful and it was perfect for todays nice weather. They have the outside area set up so nicely with chairs and tables which make it private but also open and inviting. The tasting staff is awesome. We had Brett and he couldn't have been more knowledgeable, friendly and relatable. We found ourselves talking about him after we left because he truly made the experience. What a nice guy! The wine itself was great. The Pinot and the Chardonnay were a bit more creamy in flavor than I'm used to, which I liked! Love trying something new. The cheese platter was great. Brett even gave us the background on each item on the plate. Great pairing with the wine. Would recommend this place to anyone!
google avatar

Yelp
This past Saturday we visited Stewart Cellars for the first time and were so happy with our experience. The quality of wines exceeded our expectations. The service from our host "Aloha" Brett was superb. We could have hung out there all day if we didn't have another appointment. Looking forward to opening the wines we bought when we get home.
google avatar

Robyn B.

Yelp
Beautifully designed tasting room, with ample indoor and outdoor seating, right off of the main drag. We enjoyed a cozy outdoor space and lounged on a really comfy couch as we slowly tasted our four wines. Manny was a great host, sharing just enough about each wine and not rushing us along. My favorite was the Pinot Noir, reasonably priced, just enough bite yet drinkable with almost anything. I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Brandon G.

Yelp
Gorgeous tasting room on Washington Street. Plenty of seating to enjoy the day. We particularly enjoyed their Sauvignon Blanc. -B

Yelp
This place is great to stop by for a glass if you're in Yountville! Very friendly staff, and they have the cutest dog toys for sale.

Dee G.

Yelp
We reserved a tasting for 4 last weekend and it was such a wonderful experience! We've been in this area so many times and never really wine tasted but boy are we glad we did! First off they have a wonderful outdoor patio area that is spaced out wonderfully! It's such a great area to sit and feels more private since it's not located near the street.A few tips as it gets confusing if you do the first tasting at 11am where exactly they are located. The tasting room is next to Jessup however due to Covid you need to walk towards the back area.. you'll see the patios and then on the left the nomad collection library.. all of which belong to Stewart. We checked in and were able to choose where we wanted to sit which we truly appreciated! Our sommelier was wonderful and she allowed us to get up and get our pours as it got busy as long as you wore the mask to enter the tasting room bar. The rose was refreshing and not sweet.. great way to start the tasting and ended in a cab. My favorite was the Tartan red blend! It was such a well balanced everyday blend and the price was $45 which is great for a Napa wine. Our other favorite was the beckstoffer las piedras cab 2017! The nomad collection is amazing.. though pricey we truly enjoyed it. We can't wait to return again and hopefully I can convince my husband to become a wine club member... another perk! They are located next to the most wonderful cafe.. the avocado toast, barbacoa bowl and biscuits and gravy are devious. Usually places say the food is good but this was flavorful.. the best avocado toast we've ever had!

Yelp
Seriously nice Sauvignon blanc - absolutely beautiful, classy setting with lots of outdoor seating and posh members-only seating (see photos). Grab a wonderful glass of wine or a flight and grab delicious food aroma Southside Café next door! Pretty much the perfect pairing for a beautiful sunny day in downtown Yountville. Parking is great (right behind the winery or street side) and service (at both Stewart and Southside) is really friendly. Go!

Paige B.

Yelp
Amazing place to start off (or end!) your wine tasting journey. Manny, our wine educator, was so informative and even gave us a killer recipe for a margarita that we made for the rest of our trip. He knows so much about their wines and wine in general. We really enjoyed our conversations with him and will return one day! The wines are delicious and even brought two bottles with us to Tahoe. You can't go wrong with Stewart Cellars!
