We were eagerly anticipating the opening of Sticky Kiss, attracted by its stunning exterior. However, we found the cinnamon rolls to be disappointing and overpriced.
We bought two rolls: classic vanilla and caramel apple pie.
The caramel apple pie topping was clearly canned apple pie filling, and the frosting was from a can as well.
The rolls were stale, evident from the texture and hardness of the dough. I had anticipated that the rolls would be warm, especially since we ordered from the walk-up window, but they were cold. Their rolls did not look anything like what they advertised on Instagram.
The pricing is an issue. Putting aside the poor quality for a second, charging $7 for a standard vanilla cinnamon roll and $8 for a plain cinnamon roll with apple pie filling is excessive.
For comparison, you can purchase a half-dozen cinnamon rolls from Ann Sather for $11, or two rolls for $4.50, and their rolls are significantly larger.
Additionally, an employee was taking a cigarette break right outside the entrance, two feet away from the walk-up window where you place and wait for your order.
I find it hard to believe that the owners would accept such low-quality standards, considering the enourmous amount of time and effort invested into opening the shop, which is clearly evident by its beautiful exterior. I sincerely hope they take notice and improve the quality because I want this place to succeed.
It might be worth trying if you're curious about this place, but we will not be returning.
